Regardless if it's a fic, a manga, or a book,

Imagine the bigger struggle if you don't remember where you stopped, at least hundreds chapters or pages away, but you also don't really remember what you read before, and rereading the whole thing feels like a massive drag 1) there were arcs that weren't that good but you still need to get through cuz of the relevance and references later on 2) in case of art style evolving, when the style back then is... Er... Different... 3) you're so far behind everyone in case the media is the new big talk on the socials, getting spoiled on every corner (and no, not every socials have tag filters, like YouTube for example)

So yeah, maybe more content for you to read, but really depends on what conditions...

To be fair, some people just have length preferences. The most books/comics/manga/etcetera in a series i can handle is usually ≈10 give or take a few. Movies ≈5 hours if I'm in the mood for it. Television shows/anime/etcetera for ≈6 seasons if it's really good and really well written and truely did need that many seasons to tell it's story

Not only do i just not have the money or time to indulge in longer stories 99% of the time, I often find that many things past these about points tend to be full of filler and loop-a-doops and are just extending the story for the sake of extending it and would have better had it not been extended

Sometimes, for a few fans, more canon content is worse and a very good reason that one may not want to engage with that content

I was gonna say lol! There are thousands of comics, mangas, etc with a big list of releases. And that isn't a bad thing. It means there's a lot more content for you.
