About 6301: I hate to break it to you, but you are an anti, submitter. I’m not saying this as an insult. I’m about to state a fact about antis and anti mindsets here.

Antis are infamous for preaching that being attracted to underage characters or loli/shota characters (neither of those term means “age” nor does it guarantee that the character will be underage. Think about how there are underage and adult characters that have similar body types, like two male characters will have a ripped Street Fighter body type, but one is in high school, or how two female characters are busty, but one is in high school and the other is an office worker. That applies to loli/shota) makes someone a “pedophile” only to contradict themselves when it comes to characters they like.

I’ve been in the JJK fandom on Tumblr where people are being called pedophiles for making “x reader” content of say, Yuji Itadori, even though he is aged up in those instances. They started to compare the writers and readers to Drake (a REAL LIFE alleged pedophile), which downplays what “pedophile” means in that fandom. I left that fandom because, I do not want to hear news from one of the JJK fans that a real life minor got groomed by someone in that fandom, but then someone goes, “hur dur… is dis real or is it the aged-up character x reader thing?” Like screw that, I’m not sticking around to see that happen. And to the JJK antis, I hope you’re happy, because an underage user on here and anywhere else could be getting hurt right now as we speak and you compared their pain and suffering to fanfiction of anime teenagers because you cannot separate them from real teenagers or you equate a minor suffering because of a creep to anime teens being sexualized fanfictions.

It is okay to not like incest ships in fact I hate those too. Same with anything sexual that involves an underage character.

But to insinuate that people who enjoy a specific thing in fiction (that you have every right to be disgusted by, NOT saying you have to enjoy it) are pedophiles is damaging and is an anti mindset.

Fandom Problem #6301:

I feel like I don’t fit in either the proship or anti side. I take a more nuanced view on the whole “does fiction affect reality” debate and believe both sides have there points, I also ship rather “vanilla” stuff all things considered when it comes to the so-called “proship spectrum.” (Same sex or adopted sibling peer incest between consenting adults) I can’t stand adult/minor ships though or anything lolisho or beastiality. So I really hate that me and my ships are automatically lumped into that crowd, heck even blood related cishet incest makes me uncomfortable. And yet my ships are looked at with an uncritical eye and treated like in they’re the exact same category as lolisho or something like father/daughter incest ships.

Why did incest even get lumped in with Pedophilia with the antis in the first place? They’re clearly two very varying degree levels of bad (incest actually has the capacity to be consensual in and non-harmful in both fiction and reality unlike pedophilia, certain forms of incest aren’t even illegal like pedophilia is in real life either, first cousins can still marry in many countries and places like Germany and Ireland only criminalize heterosexual incest but allow Same-Sex Incest if it’s between consenting adults) Incest like murder is also universally recognized as a taboo/bad unlike pedophilia which is still unfortunately a grey area for parts of the world so there’s no danger of it getting normalized either. It’s also not as creepy to look at two similiar aged relatives and imagine romantic chemistry between them, you can always just say fuck canon and make an AU where they’re not related instead if it really bothers you that much. There isn’t that creeping MAP suspicion like there is with viewing a child character in a romantic light, even aging up the kid in an AU wouldn’t solve the problems there.

What would you even label someone like me? Is there even a place for people like me, those of us in the middle? People who are generally proship but only when it comes to gay or adopted similiar age incest yet draw the line at pedophilia and don’t fully agree with either side of the fiction affecting reality debate?

Man I witnessed one of these things in a tumblr JJK x reader community.

So the thing is that community was made by a BNF smut writer and someone asked that why people write only for like two women, Utahime and Shoko and that there's so few Mei Mei content. There were normal answers like "there aren't enough female charaers because of the genre (shonen) known made for teenage boys" and there were people like BNF who called OP a pedophile and a weirdo for liking a character who has a weird relationship with her young cousin. OP told the BNF that it's fine if they don't like the character but why do they keep commenting on OP's post. BNF was just "fuck you I can do whatever I want" and "lol you're braindead"

Then BNF posted something like "if you write smut about Yuuji, Megumi and any other minor while you're adult get the fuck out of here because you're disgusting and I'm sick of seeing them"

Also most smut writers age these characters up. These bullies are the main reason my best friend doesn't reblog any fic with Megumi.

It's just so stupid to call others disgusting things over fiction. And then they're surprised why we are the laughing stock of fandoms (not just because of "cringe" writing but because of hypocrites and antis)
