Hardison never expected to befriend a mysterious, elusive, hacker that went by the name Oracle. And he definitely didn't expect to meet the hoard of vigilantes that came with her. Yet, here he was, in Gotham, watching his sanity slip away with no chance of return --- "I thought you were Robin?” Hardison asked in a frenzy He shook his head. ”I'm Red Robin." “Why the hell are there two robins!” Hardison shouted. “You couldn’t think of a different bird to name yourself after? You had to go with a fast-food chain!” Seriously, who named themselves after a restaurant? And of all the restaurants that someone could pick from, why Red Robins? There were so many better places to eat. Or for naming value, there were cooler sounding restaurants “I resent that,” Red Robin mused with a smirk, not genuinely annoyed Hardison wasn’t paying attention, his worry manifesting. “Eagle, Bluejay, Buzzer, Mockingbird,” he listed various birds dramatically on his fingers. “And I don’t even know what the hell kind of bird you are!” he exclaimed vaguely motioning to Nightwing before turning around once more. “Or Red Hood, really? You’re not even keeping with the animal theme, you’re an article of clothing!”

Notes: very believable integration of Gotham into Leverage, and love how Hardison gets the team entangled (for the best)

"You changed things," Snart said, the first sign of consciousness. "I changed them back," Barry muttered into his food. Snart opened his eyes and they didn't look quite right, the pupils blown too-wide and the iris swirling with that same blue iridescence that had been on his skin, and Barry couldn't quite stop a grimace at the sign of the Time Force still clinging to Snart, despite the Speed Force's best attempts to wrench him free. "It's not perfect. There's changes," he said, sounding strangely distant. "Good changes. Bad changes. Neutral..." He shook his head, sharp, and there was something that sounded a little like panic in his voice when he asked, "What happened to me?" "There was an explosion, and you got tossed into the Time Force," Barry said with a level of certainty he didn't know the origin of. Snart stared into the middle distance for a long moment, the iridescent swirling of his irises seeming to speed up and slow down in waves. And then— "You changed things," Snart said, again, his expression going placid and distant.

    Hal Jordan’s eyes slide over to you, “You actually read that stuff?”

    You roll your eyes, and don’t dignify the question with a response. Instead you go up on your tiptoes to get a better look. You continue talking, “He’s been alive for thousands of years. Imagine everything he’s seen. I bet he knows the truth about the Kennedy Assassination.”

    Hal rolls his eyes, “I bet Question and Spooky do too.”

    You turn to stare at your brother, “You’re a real pain in my ass, you know that right?”

    He splutters, “I’m a pain in your ass? You’re lucky I let you tag along.”

    You raise an eyebrow in challenge, before asking, “Who here thinks Hal would have been dead a long time ago without my help?”

    All around you hands shoot into the air, and you smile, “Don’t be too jealous, big brother.”

Summary: It's been six months since Bruce's actions led to the death of Superman. Six months, two weeks, four days. He could count it to the hour. He's handling it as well as could be expected when he finds himself in a Batcave that is unfamiliar to him, a world that is unfamiliar to him. Superman is still alive, Dick is still talking to him. The Justice League has been around for years, not months. And there is another Batman, who wants more answers than Bruce is willing to give.

When Batman v Superman!Bruce ends up in the comics world, he'll have to navigate another version of himself, his family and the man he tried to kill if he wants to get home.

Notes: i, admittedly, have very little vested interested in bruce/clark as a pairing, but this gets you by how it treats dceu batman as a real person dealing with trauma, and, worse than that, being confronted with how it could have been different. but it still ends with hope. lots of batfamily.

Just a Dream

Prompt: Childhood friends to lovers with Jason

AN: Focused more on the later years 

    You watch from the kitchen as Jason chases the kids around the living room. Your boys are laughing, and squealing as their dad plays the role of the horrid tickle monster. You watch as he catches them, scoops them up into his arms, and blows raspberries on their belly.

    A minute later he settles them down at the kitchen table, and you serve breakfast. He smiles at you, and you place a peck on his lips. But that’s not enough for him. You giggle as his arms wrap around you, and he begins peppering your face with kisses. You laugh as your boys voice their horror at their parents display of affection.

    You see the boys off to the school bus and come back to find Jason nearly ready for work. He’s dressed in his usual slack, button up shirt, and eccentric tie. “All you need now is a peppering of gray in your hair, and glasses, and you’ll have that hot professor look down.”

    He winks at you, “I’ll have that gray hair before long, those boys are getting into more and more mischief.”

    You sit down in his lap, and straighten his tie, “They take after their father.”

    He kisses you, “Lord help us all.”

    You kiss him, “I love you, Jason Todd.”

    He kisses you, “I love you, Y/N Todd.”

    You kiss each other and when you pull back he rests his forehead against yours, “I want a girl.”

    Your hands go to your barely visible bump, “Maybe you’ll get your wish.”

    He smiles, “My wish was you, this is just a dream.”

    As the word leaves his lips, the world begins to dissolve around you. You wake up in a cold sweat. You jack knife in bed, and the armed draped around your waist falls to the side. You stare at the person next to you. He’s different than the dream version; he has white streaked in his hair, his body is scarred, and any boyish charm is long gone. In his place is a man who has trust issues, who makes too many jokes about his own death, is considered legally dead, and who likes to disappear for days at a time.

    And yet you love him. You love how protective he is. How he still reads the classics he loves, and how when he reaches his favorite parts he’ll read them out loud. He would have made a wonderful professor, and an even better father. But that reality is just a dream. And as you settle back into bed, his arm slips around you again, and he whispers, “I love you Y/N Todd.”

On a scale of one to ten, how much do you hate me @memento-amare for some reason, I had you in mind as I wrote this

Notes: Yesgood. Dark and creepy and just the right amount of truly sad to make it work. Also you may not know this about me, but second person pov is my favorite in the very, very rare instances when a writer is good enough to do it correctly.

This writer is good enough and then some.

There are a lot, and they're not tagged or listed in any way. If you have triggers this is probably not the story for you. From memory: suicidal thoughts, abuse, gore, torture, I think attempted rape? (I know attempted rape in the, uh, happier alternate ending), character death, more character death, some original character death in case you wanted more, and maybe another character death.

Summary: Living, you're allelopathic. Everything around you withers up and dies---and that's not your fault. You got that from your father. It's a shame, really. Damian/Stephanie, future AU based on Batman 666/700

Notes: This is a really intense, gritty, dark take that made me ship two characters whose canon I wasn't even familiar with when I read it. (I am familiar with their canon now, in case you were wondering, and I still ship it ohohoho). But take my advice, and read the Alternate Happy Ending that's next in the series. It's kind of schmoopy and the plot is lazy but you will need it after you finish this story.
