Basic Info

Of Fire and Flesh is an AU set in modern times, but wow!! zombie apocalypse !! all the characters were in the same big city when the break out happened, so they're all in the same vague area and cross paths.

This is primarily a horror survivial AU, and to be blatant and open about it, apocalypses are my special interest and I despise the genre for its impracticality, lack of focus, and male power fantasy; this AU is not that. it's about survival, trusting in each other, and creating a future humanity can thrive in again. Even if it takes time to get to that point.

The story isn't necessarily told in a linear story and may jump around based on what I wanna do lmao. If you're confused on the timeline don't be afraid to ask!

the colour palette;

For the sake of the more dark and gritty vibes as well as a fun challenge for myself, I use a very limited colour palette in this AU across the entire cast and any backgrounds. If you'd like to draw anything for this AU you don't have to follow it by any means !!!

There is linkshipping in this AU. What's canon and not canon will be very spotty, but you can go ahead and ship anything you want.

Since it's lozverse and not just linkverse, there's also possibility for wacky crossover ships of different kinds~

Just as a note because I don't talk about it much, in general with my AUs while I might write characters with my own gender and sexuality headcanons in mind, you can think whatever you want of the characters, and I'll indulge any hcs.👍I'm here to have fun this is a big part of that to me.

anything else i want you to know about me / my character / my shipping habits: ( AHHH, hiii, itzel! thank you so much for sending this in and possibly being interested in shipping with barton :D it honestly made me so happy to see this pop up in my inbox, because i absolutely ADORE your account and your portrayal of wanda!! but yeah. with all of that said, i just wanted to let you know that two of barton's most negative traits are ones that i have pictured possibly interfering with his romantic relationships before, and this is that he can be closed-minded in a way / stubborn.

and i say in a way for closed-minded because he is kinddd of selective (okay, he can be REALLY selective, ngl haha) whenever it comes to accepting other people's opinions of things. so i could imagine that it could take him a bit to actually believe that a hero and a villain could be together since... well, they would more likely than not have a conflict of ideology going on there + i could NOT imagine that wanda would agree with a lot of things that barton does if she learned just how terrible of a person he really is (,: and that's honestly completely understandable so i'm not trying to like say she'd be bad for not agreeing with it.

i just think that they would probably have to come to a solution where barton either doesn't bring his 'work' up around her, and/or maybe depending on how attached he is to her, he could make an effort to cut all of the bad things he does down. but yeah,,, i think it could be interesting, like i said before, if you'd be interested in doing something with an ex like dynamic with them as we could make up like a whole history for them and stuff! but you don't have to, of course. so TOTALLY feel free to hmu in IM's here and ask for my disc if you want, or just talk to me there or in the comments here as to what kind of things you'd maybe want to explore between them yourself.

Movie Recommendations Part One

Genre: Horror/Thriller

If you are new to horror, or easily scared, I reccomend starting with this movie. It does contain jump scares, and some gory elements (if I remember correctly), so watch out if you are sensitive to those! If you genuinely get scared while watching this movie, all you have to think about is that the special effects for Slenderman make him look like a q-tip. The movie doesnt really pick up concerning the horror until around the second half of the movie. Before that it is setting the tone and more of a thriller. Overall I give the movie a 3/10 simply because it isnt my style. There are many different options the directors could have taken with this movie, and I didnt particularly care for the one they went with 🤷‍♀️

If you prefer a documentary take on horror movies, I reccomend this one. Hell House LLC is a 'documentary' of an investigation into the deaths of 15 people who died 5 years earlier in a haunted house attraction. It is a found footage type of film that was executed as best as it could be. In my opinion, it is one of the better found footage horrors that I have seen, but it starts off extremely slow. As the movie continues, it starts to pick up bit by bit. However, I feel like it didnt exactly reach full 'horror' until the conclusion. Even then, it was more of a thriller than anything. The conclusion itself left me slightly confused, and left the movie open. There is a second, but I am unsure if it connects to the first movie or not, since I have not watched it. Overall, I give the movie a 5/10

The Boy is a psychological horror/thriller that I absolutely love. It does contain a 'haunted doll' of sorts, but I still reccomend watching it even if you dont like doll horror movies (please trust me on this one). I, personally, hate haunted doll movies and I LOVED this one. That being said, I reccomend the first movie. Not the second. The second movie contradicts many plot points established in the first, and seemed extremely hypocritical to me. The directors essentially backtracked over many facts they established in the first for the sake of popularity. Overall, I give the first movie a solid 7.5/10. It has a slow buildup but its 100% worth it. There are some trigger warnings for this movie however. If you are sensitive to domestic violence, stalkers, or suicidal themes, I do not recommend watching it. Domestic violence is a main plot point in the movie (the other two are very minor and only mentioned a few times). I give the second movie a 3/10. Again, didnt care for it.

The Invisible Man is an amazing thriller. This movie does deal with themes of domestic violence throughout, so that is another trigger warning. It has scifi themes as well, so I reccomend it if that is your cup of tea. I honestly dont have much to critique about this movie, so I'll skip to the rating. I give the movie a solid 8/10

Ready or Not is another thriller. Trigger warning for gore. This movie is more lighthearted than any other thriller you'd ever see, and honestly I like it alot for that reason. It has comedy throughout which lightens the mood alot. Though it is not much of a thriller, I still prefer to classify it as one due to the later half of the movie. I give it a 9/10

Y’know, I debated not answering you bc what you sent sounds like the typa shit that attracts unwanted discourse. So if that was your intent (and I mean this with all sincerity): go fuck yourself.

I’m not sure where you got the idea that I’m "still devoted to" C3, esp since the last piece of art I made for that ship was pre-KTGG -- nearly a year ago. That was also the last time, until recently, that I spoke about C3 at all. So ???

I will admit I didn’t answer that ask very thoughtfully when I originally responded -- mostly bc I assumed by now ppl understood my stance on this issue -- so I went back and edited for clarification. However, if you’d read my about page instead of jumping to conclusions, you’d know where I stood.

But since that clearly didn’t happen, I’ll spell it out for you: I used to ship C3. As of right now, I don’t. However, during the time in which I did, I was in the process of building an extensive backstory AU that I am still very much attached to and enjoy creating content for. It was designed specifically to establish Copia as an outsider -- not a member of the Emeritus family -- which has been my view of him since since day fucking one (x).

One scroll through my blog will show you none of this is new. Copia's underdog status plays a vital role in how I draw, write and headcanon him, as well my general attachment to his character. Sure, you can sit there and claim I dreamt all this up for the purpose of shipping, but you'd also be lying out of both sides of your mouth. If my development of this AU was nothing more than ""justification"" for C3, my blog wouldn't be littered with loads of art and comics focused on the rest of the family and their respective dynamics. (x) (x) (x) Not to mention the countless memes and shitposts that have goddamned nothing to do with any of this.

Anyway, for me, an AU only works if you can establish a very clear departure from what's been described in canon. KTGG presented several plot holes I had never previously considered, and these muddied waters made me unsure of how to continue world building. I don't want to publish anything until there are no surprises left, so until we get more official information regarding this lore, I have temporarily pulled the breaks on this project.

Still, none of this is reason to completely dismantle something I've been working on since 2018. Nor does it suddenly make the material itself "problematic". I should be able to keep my AU (C3 storyline or not) without ppl like you accusing me of being some incest-obessed fujoshi simply bc I chose to view the source material in a way you don't personally like.

From last summer forward, every time I’ve been asked about the topic of my AU, the answer never contained any mention of C3 (x) (x) (x) bc I don't currently ship C3. If by "devoted to" you meant "it's on the back burner and also the stove isn't on" then sure, I'm super devoted.

But even if this weren't the case -- even if the amount of currently unanswered questions didn't bother me and I plowed ahead with my story no holes barred, what exactly would my crime be? Why would an AU created to explore the non-canon backstories of Copia (a Catholic orphan) and Papa 1 (his unrelated mentor) suddenly become problematic just bc once in a blue moon a scene appears in which Copia has a boyfriend? Considering all content I've made for C3 sees them as completely unrelated and has also been 100% SFW, what line have I crossed? I know my lane. I'm not mlm (I'm not wlw either, which is what you're trying to peg me as) so I would never create explicit content for a community to which I don't belong. But if you think LGBT+ folks can only make material tailored to their specific identities in order to not be fetishy, then I've got some fuckin news for you and you're not gonna like it.

Anyhoo, I don’t believe for one second that you’re this casual by-standing "outsider" -- not least bc you knew exactly where to find the post where I first addressed the plot twist possibility, but lmfao whatever you say bubs. I also love that you’re on the "outside" while simultaneously in the know about what the fandom collective has decided re: What If Copia Is An Emeritus. You need to get your story straight.

Damn near everyone in this fandom has created some sort of AU -- whether that be a world where they self-ship, a universe in which none of the Papas died, or, I dunno, one full of dragons and dinosaurs :-) The fact that you're specifically honing in on my AU with insane and disgusting out-of-left-field accusations tells me everything I need to know about both you and your motives, so listen very closely: there is nothing wrong with creating an AU that diverts from canon. Despite what you think, viewing Copia as unrelated to the Emeritus family is pretty goddamned normal around here. And considering Tobias obviously wanted us to think of him this way (and let us do so for over a year and a half) it's easy to see why so many ppl prefer that concept to the story we'll probably get.

What is leverage about? The plot? I figured you'd be the one to ask since you love this show so much lol

alright so this has been sitting in my inbox for way too long just because i have no idea how to answer this! yes, i love this show, and yes, i will most definitely tell you all about it, but i swear i will not be able to do the show justice! just please, trust me when i tell you, you should definitely watch it! It’s so, so, so, good, and yes, you came to the right place because i loooove Leverage so much it’s unhealthy 

Okay, so basically Leverage is about a band of Thieves/”bad guys” who act as the good guys and steal stuff from the rich and powerful so that they can help the people that they take advantage of. The characters are probably my favorite part so, I’ll tell you a little about them: the team consists of a hacker, hitter, thief, grifter, and mastermind. 

The hacker, Hardison, is a first class geek with a heart, wit, and a problem with authority (they all have that problem). The hitter, Eliot, is an ex-Black Ops soldier turned Retrieval Specialist who can kill a man with a frying pan and a dash of lemon... in four different ways. He lives to protect, but isnt afraid of his emotions (Plus, the actor Christian Kane is kinda hot lol). The thief, Parker, is, as I like to put it, a confused little bean who is just trying her best and really likes heights... and elavators and skyscrapers... basically anything that involves jumping and harnesses (or no harnesses, whatever works).The grifter, Sophie, is an aspiring actress who can only actually act if its not on a stage and she’s stealing something. She’s comfortable with who she is and has been doing her job for more years than we ever know (honestly i love sophie so much, this description doesn’t do her justice). And lastly, the mastermind, Nate, is a drunken ex-Insurance Investigator who recently switched sides, flipping on the law, after his old company refused to pay for his son’s integral Cancer treatments (rude, right!). He is the one who brings the team together and plans all of the intricate cons that they do down to the letter. 

It doesn’t sound like much, and they’re really bad descriptions, but I tried my best. So, even if it doesn’t sound all that good, please trust me when i say it is!!! i’ve literally watched and rewatched every single episode of this show more time than i can count and i’m still in love with it! The show ended multiple years ago and people still love it to this day (i watched it just last year and i can’t believe i hadn’t found it earlier). It’s just... so good, that’s all i can say.
