@ignoct-week day 7: Final Fantasy Crossover

I don't actually know if I'd ship Agrias/Ovelia, but I do love Agrias (paladin woman my beloved) and I'd rather not think about the reality of Delita/Ovelia in the context of ignoct sooooo. let's make them lesbians and angst and it's fine lmao

I actually had a surprisingly easy time drawing this one, after the mess of days 5 and 6 lmao. This happened for me in about an hour (that hour was 4~5AM while I was listening to the end of a 4 hour video essay but don't worry about it I'm a night owl).

I could've chosen many other Final Fantasys, I was scrambling around my reference folders wondering which one to choose lol. 7 and 10 were too obvious, I didn't wanna draw the armors of the earlier FFs, I don't know much about 5 or 8 or 9 (sorry dissidia 589 lovers), 13 and type0 would barely count as a crossover, and thus I ended up on Tactics. My datemate like Tactics, and got a commission profile pic of his ff14 character in that style. I didn't realize it'd actually be so easy to mimic for me. I had a lot of fun drawing this for real.

It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I just really hated the song and not getting it perfect within like five tries had me feeling like the world might end.

Now I've only got three trophies left to do, and they all seem very achievable - Get 1 character to star level 9 (I've got Yuffie almost to 5, so getting her to 9 won't take long,) Get 1 character to have max stats (I'll give Yuffie bonus items to top those off after the star level 9,) and get to level 20 in Endless World (attempting this will help me get the other two - and I usually get to level 16 and have gotten as high as 19 while attempting this already... with characters who weren't as leveled up...) so... Platinum, here I come!

I think I only have six or so platinum trophies - FFXV, FF-Type0, FFVIII, Horizon Zero Dawn, Sims4, and one of the Spyro games. Maybe two of them. I can't remember. I think that's it. I know the only thing standing between me and Platinum for FFVII was the bike mini game at the gold saucer. I hate that mini game so much. Mini games are my least favorite parts of Final Fantasy. They always jerk you harshly out of the groove of the whole rest of the game and just beat you up with strict time limits and way-too-precise demands... Squats, Blitzball, FFX's chocobo races with the fucking seagulls, thunder plains lighting-dodge, Vivi's jumprope, I just hate 'em.

I liked Triple Triad and Noct's fishing though. I hated fishing at first, but I ended up getting really into it. You may remember if you've followed this account for a while. I posted a bunch about the fancy fish I was snagging. I got pretty good.

I don't had a chance to play FFAgito. But I had a chance to read some of the plot of this story. In the final chapter, Ace lost consciousness and become I'cie .... and during his fight with his friends, he always praying for someone to stop him....

Milites sure is proud of that crystal jammer of theirs. Too bad it's useless against us. If they do use the jammer again, before we can even think about destroying it, our first priority will have to be getting Machina and Rem to safety.

I think Machina's not so much upset about his brother as he is anxious about the future. He's already lost his family, so he's probably just worried he might lose someone else. We all have people we don't want to forget. To Machina, his brother was probably one of those people—and that's why this whole experience has been so traumatizing for him.

I always suspected Machina resented us for the death of his brother, but I might have been wrong. I think he was actually upset that we couldn't do anything to help Rem. More than anything, though, I think he was frustrated with himself—frustrated that he of all people couldn't do anything to save her, either.
