Ship(ping mail!) Julezen Day 5

Rain, Shine, Pretty Women, you can trust Levraut to deliver your mail! At least until he gets his first paycheck and realizes you get paid in Kupo Nuts instead of Gil..... But he met new people and learned some things about the Warrior Of Light! Man, the uniform is stuffy though.

Try as he might, Levraut's excitement was contagious for Kizuna. He stifles a laugh behind his hand, keeping an ear bent to their surroundings. Even if he hadn't been given a choice by Father Bruvagnon, he made a promise to see Levraut home unharmed and he intended to keep it.

Archery Julezen - Day 18

Cupid-Levraut is going to shoot an arrow straight at your heart.... !

Except... ah, he has terrible aim. He's not even looking where he's pointing that thing-! Someone get that bow out of his hands before he hurts somebody!

as a teen, Lev did have a crush on Kizuna's dad. He was nice! He gendered Lev correctly! Called him by the name he wanted! Probably even helped him pick it out! And! He's so. Different from all the nose-in-the-air holier-than-thou clergy and nobles.

But also he's like twice Lev's age and presumed dead, it would've never worked out. Especially not when Lev got out of Ishgard and realized he doesn't actually particularly want to *really* be with someone romantically- it's appealing in theory, reading mysteries and fairytales always painted such romances in a flattering light, but having someone reciprocate his earnest, if over-the-top and excessive cheesy flirtations? Mortifying.

Midday (nap) Julezen - Day 14

A midday repose with Levraut and Kizuna (@dustedbooksandreadingnooks) [He/Him for both] Sometimes, a good nap is what you need, even if it's the middle of the day. Kizuna's always been a sleep cuddler though, lmfao.

Keathan did a really good job on decorating Kizuna and Erradane's ishgardian home ;w; cozy little cabin... Also I did too much work posing this tangle of limbs to not have a couple no-blanket shots lmfao. I love platonic intimacy. Kizuna is definitely wearing one of his Da's shirts and Lev is just wearing his under-clothing- since a nap is not usually planned for. But sometimes the sun is cozy and warm and you've played hard outside.

After spending the later morning sparring, Lev pushes food into Kizuna's hands, claiming there'd been extra after breakfast at home.... he doesn't reveal that before he left the house that morning he'd actually snuck into the pantry and stuffed his skirts with as much food as he could manage to make sure Kizuna had something more to eat.

I imagine Lev's daydreaming out loud about their futures as Knights.

Picnic Julezen Day 11

Social events were never Levraut's favorite activity- already disliking the weight and sway of heavy skirts and petticoats and the discomfort of powders and creams on the face, but dealing with the other guests at parties was arguably the worst.

Backhanded compliments, long, winding conversations about the weather, slightly more interesting discussions on the movements of Draconic forces, and, perhaps the most draining and boring, Theological Discourse.

He puts on his best manners and staunchest polite smile but ten minutes of half-listening to someone talk at him is... It's too much.

At least the music is nice this time, and the weather isn't too hot. Sigh.

Style Swap! (Free Day) Julezen Day 13

Two very different Elezen... Lev wears his clothes loud and proud- with a swashbuckling, breezy sort of style and bold crimsons and black to make a statement. Beatle on the other hand, is a more modest and academic style, and prefers rich greens and browns and turquoise with the occasional bow or ribbon, and butterfly accents.

Swapping their general theme but keeping the same palette and personality was really fun c: Lev would be a Loud Believer of Fairies, dragging passerby into conversation about the latest research or the newest aetherograph that proves beyond doubt that Fairies exist... Beatle would be a sky pirate, for the freedom a ship provides and the security of a home base to return to. Also, this is the best I've ever posed "walking down stairs" before, and I'm really proud of that c: and Cannonball is SOOOOO uppy buppy cutie pie

I'm actually super bad at writing for poor Levraut, he's got brains in places I don't even got brains, but he's truly a fun lil dude. Making him look awkward and gangly is fun, and while I usually show him getting absolutely rejected for romantic overtures because it's *funny* he's also genuinely not interested.

It's about the performance of it all, he is a bird, doing the mating dance, because he's Supposed To, to Be A Man. (He has not realized this is not the case. Masculinity is not the rigid prison he has escaped the prison of womanhood to be in.)

Bonfire.... Julezen - Day 19

"MOVE!"

Patrol had been quiet, aside from a couple of easily dispatched scouting dragonflies. In the driving rain, not even Halone was casting Her gaze skyward. Their only warning had been the weighty thud of something landing behind them, and the low rolling growl.

Levraut remembers wielding his spear to swat Kizuna out of the way like a leaf in the wind, the muted click-fwoosh of aether igniting even in the rain. The smell of muddy grass and hot metal and cooking meat. Not the pain, though. That, that came later.

He overhears the stories in hushed whispers, through the haze of recovery and pain and surgeries and magic, that his companion had drawn the dragon to him, intending to strike him down. Strike a warning blow to the clergy that even their children were not safe from their wrath. But, for the Furies blessing, this treacherous plan had failed, and Kizuna had cowered at the first lick of flames, while the noble knights had struck the beast down, and carried Levraut to safety.

But that didn't sound anything like Kizuna.

Levraut still occasionally flinches at the sight of dragons. But more importantly- he never forgives his Father for what he does in the aftermath of this failed adventure.

Hoo buddy this was hard to write- knowing how the scene drifts and putting it to paper are two entirely different things and while it's likely I'll be revisiting this scene and expanding on it and possibly even retconning minor details, this is the gist- a Dragon Ambush, and Kizuna waiting to react, and Lev acting first. He technically has a very expensive face :'). His arms were mostly healed- but it was less of a priority, and instead of another full scarless heal, they made sure it Looked Pretty.

Lev wears gloves to compensate the lack of feeling temperature in his hands and also to provide a touch barrier, since the damage there makes touching things feel..... icky. It's less of an issue on his arms- but he won't share the true origin of his scars to most, opting instead for spun tales. 👋

These were a lot of fun (and work, but less hard once I had the base template set up) and I think I managed to nail down their vibe without a bunch of letters ;v;'

So I gathered as many people as I could find publicly available and then kinda, Scrimbled them around as little as possible because 25 actors is a LOT of. It’s a lot of everything. Don’t do that.

Also, as for why Meatball and Canonball are still baby sized here even though the dialogue implies EW, when they should be definitely grown-size by previous implications....? I wanted them to be running around playing in the fore/back grounds and having a full sized beefalo and a big ol dog running around was kinda distracting. So dw about it. Also, Tangy knows this story, but she likes to hear Lev tell it :)
