How do you do anatomy? And when you get artblock, what are you doing?

anatomy: make stuff up use references, observe bodies in art + media + ur everyday life, look at anatomy notes! i got taco1704's book (it's in KR and EN) but they also posted a lot of it online; simodasketch and kawaiisensei also have a lot of excellent diagrams. and sometimes i really do just make stuff up

artblock: that's harder to answer :') i got pretty burned out and couldn't draw anything good for what felt like months, even though i tried every day... if you get stuck, i think it's probably better to take a break and go consume instead of create for awhile. i played a bunch dawntrail/fields of mistria and started reading orv until the worms came back home haha. recharge ur battery and look for new inspiration...!

I'm editing my thesis, but here's a list of some of my fav little head canons floating around in my brain rn instead:

- John has a couch in his office. For guests, for naps, for when the boys need a nap, for when they all need a nap

- Johnny is incapable of sitting still before and after a mission. Needs to move until exhaustion crashes into him afterwards

- Johnny gets found crashing in the weirdest places, the hanger, locker room, but has recently been going to the couch.

- Simon's fav books are 'classics'. Doesn't matter the genre. Loved Alice in Wonderland as a kid. Loves The Hobbit and LOTR now. Loves Wuthering Heights too fight me.

- Kyle does his best to casually avoid stepping on cracks in the sidewalk

- Johnny counts his steps between sidewalk cracks

- if the sergeants wanna fuck with John they'll move his pack of cigars to some weird ass place. Like they won't take them (that's too fucking dangerous) but they will move them to some place John doesn't look immediately (think top of a shelf, a file cabinet). they have to get more and more creative each time until they're taping the damn things to the ceiling.

- John knows it's them and he thinks it's endearing.

- Ghost has absolutely beautiful handwriting, (got it that good after having to do lots of hand therapy after Roba) but only when he means it, otherwise it's just nice print.

I guess it doesn’t actually matter that you very clearly don’t actually know anything about the practicalities of being autistic beyond your personal experience, because you clearly don’t interact with HSN people very much or do any kind of real advocacy work in the sphere of IDD, so your out-of-touchness can’t actually hurt anyone directly. Have fun continuing to alienate HSN autistic people tho I’m sure that’s not contributing to the well established problem about these conversations about ABA being dominated by LSN/late dx autistics who have significantly less stake or understanding of why ABA is bad and when/how it’s used and how it works in practice and what we can replace it with to serve some actually important purposes to better support people’s needs and autonomy :/ Have fun criticizing lived realities you have no experience with i guess, just know your ignorance is very apparent to people who do have experience. A lot of the reasons ABA sucks you can’t understand because you don’t know enough about how it actually works to mount valid criticisms that work towards something better…at a certain point you have to ask yourself who this is even for if it’s not actually helping the people you’re claiming to be concerned about.

a lot of assumptions about my experience and community just bc i dont think torturing children to make them normal is good. ABA led my sister, who is higher support needs, and myself to years of anxiety, depression, no sense of self, suicidal ideation and self harm.. but you've already decided i'm not autistic enough because you know everything about me based on a few posts where i say conversion therapy is evil and dangerous. i feel bad for every autistic person who has the misfortune of coming into contact with you.

thinking about emmrich saying "fuck" today. so, i like to think that emmrich is a man who does not swear. it's just not his cup of tea. as any good scholar knows though, there's a time and place to say "fuck," and when he does? my god. like. this man knows the best time to use it--to let something vulgar slip from his lips, especially when rook cannot do anything about it. emmrich knowing that rook is already going to be pent up from a day running around the entire goddamn earth whispering, "i cannot wait for you to fuck me when you return," and rook just has to live with that! has to have the sound of emmrich saying something like that for however long the mission takes.

and the implications of using that word versus any other in his repertoire. "fuck" implies dirty and nasty and rough. it's casual to a fault. it's grabbing hand and gnashing teeth and barely contained passion. emmrich swearing is like...him letting loose to the like umpteenth degree. it's letting himself feel his basest desires. young men fuck. and gods, do you bring out the young man in him.
