Installment Guide

This might not come in super handy yet since I haven't...posted any content about these as of writing this, but if you're seeing this some time after I post it there may be some links added eventually - so keep an eye out! The following list is ordered in the intended 'watch order' of the despair files series.

i love looking at how people interact with their tech but unfortunately i have only myself to observe. I have substantially altered my file organization methods over the course of the past decade, and it was all very UI-driven.

The first computer I personally owned was a 2013 Macbook Pro and, like, my whole life was on the desktop. Documents went on the right, images went on the left. Once that started being cluttered, I began sorting things into folders, but it was all still on the desktop.

When I had to move from the Macbook to my Lenovo Thinkpad, a Windows machine, I dumped everything into a folder labeled "Suitcase" and transferred it via flash drive so I could set up my system over again. The folder lived in the middle-right of the desktop and I never got around to fully unpacking it.

Over time, I started using my documents folder and the file explorer more and more. By the time I transferred from the Thinkpad to my current Framework laptop, I had a relatively small number of things to copy over from the desktop--the lion's share of the stuff I needed to move belonged in dedicated folders in my file directory, which could be copied over and dropped into the new PC's file directory seamlessly.

This transition marked the end of my reliance on the desktop--all stray files got sorted into the appropriate folder in my file directory. Now, my desktop literally looks like this (and no, I didn't clean this up for the screenshot, I'm just like this now):

my personal headcanon is the vees were unremarkable nobodies when they were alive. i just love it as a thematic throughline for them. they love to let the public of hell speculate on them being famed and acclaimed since before death, but the the truth is they were a d-list failed influencer that got by on cheap controversey and scamming, a broke junkie who burned every shaky bridge he ever had, and a worn-out broadcast production assistant with more rejected auditions and tossed out script pitches than he could count. nobody missed them when they were gone, nobody cared who they were until they were dead.

just wanted to find one specific piece of information ... and then somehow ended up extracting all nearly 300,000 voicelines of the game, and spent the last two hours listening through all of Samuel's 800. love how he spends the majority of that time either swearing at random people / events, or complaining about the stench or the weather. or dropping some Jewish wisdom.

i also know now that his favourite dish are his mame's hamantaschen, that he once had a lucky knife but lost it, is no early bird (well, given he gets sleep at all), has the funniest battle insults ('God made a joke when he made you!' nearly broke me), got dragged into a mine once by some older boys and wandered around lost in there for a whole day (give me your knife, Sam, where are those fuckers now?), has about a dozen different terms of endearment for Henry and the pettiest exchanges with Hans ('Did he tell you that or did you figure it out yourself?' -- 'Stop the mockery, and answer when a no­bleman asks you something!' -- 'But of course! Forgive me my insolence, my lord!')

gotta say, it was worth it.

Would you believe me if I told you I somehow came across most if not all of hide's old live.jp assets, because I did, and it was a happy accident more or less.

If you want to scoop through what is available, click here. Anything past 2000 will not work most likely, and whatever I find will be uploaded to the drive at a later time. If you're looking for images, I would type in either "gif" or "jpg" in the search bar on the right of IA's site. Nothing has been crawled before 1998 unfortunately, so his old site layout is more or less lost to time to my knowledge and understanding.

Project Timeline

Info:

This is NOT a timeline of ONLY the official content, it includes official content but it also includes my own details (and focuses mostly on my fan content as a way to keep things organized). Please don't use this as an official timeline! Things may change from how it's ordered in the canon.

Notes:

This is structured around Trigger Happy Havoc taking place in 2014, that may not be 100% canon accurate but it's what I've had in mind for a couple years.

This timeline will begin with the attendance of year 77 (Contains the Goodbye Despair cast).

It's primarily an outline of major events and may not encompass quite a few small things (most individual character deaths, etc).

Danganronpa V3 is NOT a separate timeline, I've fit them in the main canon, and not somewhere far in the future either.

The Kamukura project is not only limited to Izuru, multiple subjects are mentioned.

I may shift things around, there's very little info on when and how long things happened, so that's all my interpretation.

I haven't nor do I plan to read the mangas, they're ambiguously canon to this project - as in, they most likely happened but I will neither fully confirm nor deny them since I'm only vaguely aware of what's in them.

And as a final note, this is all my own work. Please don't argue or attempt to correct anything that may not be canon accurate, cuz I'm not trying to be 100% canon accurate.
