How does a liquid filling and capping machine work?
Liquid Filling and Capping Machine Demystified
Ever wondered how those neatly filled and sealed bottles of your favorite beverages or cosmetics come to be? The answer lies in the marvel of technology known as the liquid filling and capping machine. Let's take a closer look at how these machines work their magic:
Liquid Filling:
The process begins with the liquid filling part. The machine typically has a tank or reservoir where the liquid product is stored. A pump system or a gravity-based mechanism is used to transport the liquid from the tank into the bottles or containers.
Tumblr media
Precision Measurement:
 The liquid filling and capping machine ensures precise measurement of the liquid being dispensed into each bottle. This accuracy is essential to maintain consistency in product volume.
No Mess, No Waste:
 These machines are designed to minimize spills and waste. They are equipped with nozzles or spouts that dispense the liquid smoothly into the containers, leaving little room for mess.
Container Transport:
Once the liquid is filled, the containers move along a conveyor belt or another transport system to the capping station. This movement is typically synchronized with the filling process for efficiency.
Capping Mechanism:
 At the capping station, different capping mechanisms come into play. For screw caps, there are rotating wheels or chucks that tighten the caps onto the containers. Other capping methods, like snap caps or press-on caps, have their specialized mechanisms.
Tightness Control:
Liquid filling and capping machines often include sensors to monitor the tightness of the caps. This ensures that each container is securely sealed to prevent leakage or contamination.
Labeling and Inspection:
 In some setups, labeling and inspection stations follow the filling and capping process. Labels are applied, and the containers are inspected for any defects or discrepancies.
Batch and Data Control:
Modern machines are often equipped with software that allows for precise control over batch sizes, filling levels, and data recording. This data helps manufacturers maintain quality control.
Variety of Containers:
 These machines can handle a wide variety of containers, from bottles and jars to vials and tubes. They are adaptable to different shapes and sizes.
Speed and Efficiency:
 Liquid filling and capping machines are known for their speed and efficiency. They can fill and cap hundreds of containers per minute, making them invaluable in high-production industries.
In conclusion, a liquid filling and capping machine is a complex piece of machinery that streamlines the packaging process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and product integrity. So, the next time you open a perfectly filled and sealed bottle, you'll know it's the result of the precision and technology of a liquid filling and capping machine at work.

Something’s I picked up from ‘hinter die welt’ on YouTube !!
Bill said himself he’s very shy, he’d never go up himself and approach someone as he’d be to shy to do so.
The twins have very different ideas of the music they make. Bills very into pop and says he has no problem singing it, but Tom says he’s not very into it and that’s why he’d rather not sing it. Saying Bill makes one to many love songs haha
Many think Bill got bullied after the release of Dutch den monsun and it was because of his looks. Yes he was a target cause of his looks but they lived in a in general very unsafe area and many 20/30 year olds wanted to beat them up and stuff. It sucked. (They lived in Lotische Germany)
all of them have dogs! Georg has a small black dog, Bill had Pumba at the time but now Alfia! Tom had capper that unfortunately passed away in 2023 and now he has two other. And Gustav has a big brown one which I don’t know the race unfortunately
Tom is actually the one producing the most music, he makes the most beats and stuff
When this was filmed it was clear Bill wasn’t as comfortable with his sexuality as he is now.
Bill is a very anxious person, he’s clearly scared from his past. He explained something in Russia that he’s scared someone was gonna throw something at his face like acid or something. He seems very anxious about preforming still.
Bill and Tom explain that they fill a part off each other, like if they were a circle and filled half of each. So cute.
One time after the release off durch den monsun Gustavs dad had to get out off the car as he picked the boys up from somewhere and give the fans pre signed papers or something.
Gustav explained that after the band took a break he needed help from his family to get back on his feet and that his parents were big supporters.
People used to camp outside off Bill and Tom’s apartment. They explained it like chaos 24/7 and when someone broke in it was the final straw and they moved.
Bill said he’s a bit scared of some fans that have a huge obsession with him cause some have come to him and explained stalker behavior basically. Giving him a painted image off him as an angel was shown in the last episode for example.
They did most of it on their own as many thought everyone did it for them. They had a small team or something and it was mostly them on their own.
Once Bill and Tom moved to LA they explained it as freeing and unusual, poor people.

Received one of my hats? Here's some info!
Did you receive a funny little medieval beanie with a tag reading something along the lines of
Monmouth Cap #99 by Doña Áshildr Inn Hárfagri Based on research by Jennifer L Carlson Made in the Barony of Namron
These caps, easiest to spot by the little hanging loop (which i stick my tags on!) have their roots at least as far back as the 15th century with the Capper's Act of 1488, which was instituted to protect English wool markets.
Tumblr media
TL;DR: please enjoy your fun historical beanie in silly colors, I had a fun time making it and I'd love to see how far they make it around the Knowne World! If you can, post a picture of your hat to Facebook or Instagram tagging me or using the hashtag #ashildrhat so we can see how far it traveled!
If you'd like to read more about the history behind these hats, I've included some below the cut!
Tumblr media
The Peasant Wedding, by Pieter Bruegel ca 1568, emphasis by Matthew Gnagy in Knitting With the Modern Maker Vol 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As seen in these in these detail shots, these hats seem similar to the popular "tudor flat cap" in construction, with a distinct crown and brim, but have a more beanie-type structure with the brim occasionally turned up partially or all the way. I have often seen reenactors partially turn the brim up to create a bycocket-type shape.
As far back as 1415, the occupational surname Capper begins to grow within Monmouth. In 1465 we see the occupation "cappeknytter." The Capper's Act of 1488 fixes the prices of knitted caps and hats, delcares fines for foreign-made hats, and court records show that these rules were enforced frequently and to full extent. The 1571 An Act for the Continuance of the Making of Caps further protects the English wool, knitting, and capping industry by insisting everybody over the age of 6 will wear a woollen knit cap made in England on Sabbath and holidays, and women were required to wear white caps of the same restrictions unless their husbands were hereditary nobility or particularly important (Buckland 1979).
While these laws were each enforced for a time before being repealed, they give a glimpse into the storied history of this silly little medieval beanie we so dearly love.
The extant monmouth cap, pictured at the top of this post, dates to the 16th century and has been extensively analyzed by modern day knitters. The hat is 59 stitches in circumference with an inch double knit edge, knit 5-6 inches before crown decreases, and closed to 6 stitches before bindoff. Similar finds of knitted and fulled wool caps from the Mary Rose lead me to believe this very practical hat was fulled or felted but the nap has been lost over time.
For further reading, I recommend The Monmouth Cap by Kirstie Buckland and Making a Monmouth Cap by Jennifer L. Carlson.
My Spin On Things
When people ask why I bring so many hats to certain winter events, my reply is usually "I knit when I'm anxious, and boy am I poorly medicated!" I produce them for gift baskets, largesse derbies, coronations, trade days, and "taxes" for my landeds. I make them for commissions, for auctions, but almost always I make them to be freely given away.
I was introduced to these hats by Mistress Elsa von Snackenburg, OP, who is well known in my kingdom for these hats so much so that the kingdom knows this style of hat best as the Elsa Hat. She produces the hats from Lion Brand Thick and Quick, achieving a much more period gauge, and usually with just 1 or 2 colors per hat. However, thick yarn makes my hands cramp, so I chose to experiment with gauge and make a lighter weight hat to fill the spring and fall niches. My math has worked out to a happy 88 stitches cast on 4.0mm needles, giving an even 8-section crown decrease that lends itself well to distribution across 4 dpns, with occasional variations in cast on # to allow different crown patterns such as the stars or to create smaller or larger sizes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As seen above, I tend to do multicolored hats, incorporating pride flags or heraldic colors, and occasionally with an Ansteorran or Vindheim star at the crown. At the time of posting, I've made 210 of these hats. Producing this many hats, especially free of charge, would not be possible without the generous yarn donations of those like Lessandra della Torre, Katerine la Roux d'Anjou, Elionora inghen Ui Ceallaigh, and many others who have graciously donated yarn to the cause of warming noggins across the Knowne World.

Hello (≧∇≦)/
Can you do a one-shot or headcanon with Leo x gn reader were Leo has a crush on the reader but is to shy to confess because he is a mutant but one day he discovers that the reader has a lot of fictional crushes on non human characters (like venom, Jack Skeleton, etc 😹) and that gives Leo more chances to confess?
your wish is my command, also it was a fun challenge and cute to think about also sorry if it a bit short
one-shot shy leo x gn reader (rottmnt)
Tumblr media
just one chance of success
''Hey, Y/n i neeeeed'' Leo slowly turned away from them ''never mind'' he shyly mumbled like every other time he tried to confess. It was odd for leo to fell all these and not dare say a word. All because Y/n or at least the fear rejection mostly because he is a mutant this feeling swallowed him whole each time over and over.......
Leo was passing in his room back and forth. His mind filled with thoughts of how to confess to Y/n yet he felt helt back. swallowed in fear of rejection mostly stemming from the fact he is a mutant.
''What are you doing Leo?'' Donnie ask while givings his brother the eyebrow.
''Donnie, your a smart guy right?'' he said turning his attention towards his brother. his cheeks nearly as red as his markings.
''well I am a genius, -'' ''so say I have feels for someone, IN THEORY, however there human what are my chances seeing that a mutant?'' leo looked at his brother with puppy eyes even just cutting him off.
''unlikely...unless they have thing for such things, why?'' donnie asked.
''nooooooothing'' leo face showed a sad young man who heart was shattered,broken. donnie rolled his eyes, ''sure'' and turned around.
''LEO, DONNIE, RAPH, APRIL AND Y/N WANNA HANG OUT!'' Mikey yelled (in doctor delicta touch voice). Donnie and Raph both walked toward Mikey meanwhile Leo could feel his heart start to race yet he felt so hopeless. he stood there his brain spyringling in all driffed directions. He pretended to be his razzel dazzel self as he finally made his way to his brothers.
''come on there waiting for us, leo'' raph said giving his brother a pat on the back. ''sorry, purrfection takes time'' he joked as he smaged.
Y/n and april where sitting on the rooftop waiting for the boys.
''you like capper from mlp'' April said teasing there friend. ''and? he has ya'know'' Y/n said complete a tomato, while turning there head to the side. ''come on who ells'' April continued to tease as Y/n try to change the subject. Then they saw them ''he look the guys are here'' Y/n pointed out. ''hiiiiiiii'' Mikey geerted the two of them. donnie waved and Raph smiled. ''hey'' Leo said trying to act cool while his cheeks brighted a just a little. April smirked at Y/n '' so did you guys know datY/n likes Capper from mlp'' April anasont. Y/n turned into blushing mess. ''THE CAT'' Mikey gasp. Leo eyes winded looking at his crush (they like a mutant character) his hopes brought yet he felt so shy to tell them how he feels. ''Same Y/n'' Mikey said. Y/n panic slowly left them after hearing that. Leo graped to curish to sit next to Y/n as they sat down talking about fictional crushes. Leo felt his whole face burning the whole time. ''Y/n any other once'' Leo asked with a smug look on his face as he was dying from the inside. ''Umm...well nick wild...'' Y/n said in a shy tone. Leo was quite pleased to hear this a grin formed on his. ''and you?'' Y/n asked him. ''You'' Leo split out his whole face bright ''What'' Y/n face completely shocked. ''I SAID MEWTWO JEP TOTALLY NOT YOU,HAHAHA'' he felt his whole heart sink. he turned his face away from them. ''Oh, okay'' Y/n replied looking a little sad. Leo didn't say a word to Y/n for the rest of the night only blushing and looking away. On one hand he ad hope on the other he was still shy about. Maybe one day.
Y/n, sighed after they all parted ways. ''why does he get all shy around me'' Y/n mumbled to Themself. All they wanted was for Leo to feel comfortably but recently he has been getting all shy.....Y/n wonders why.

Twilight Sparkle x Discord Electric boogaloo
************
-This is a sequal to my other Twicord fic-
Shuffling and other noises filled the air as her friend leaned her head closer to peer at the outfit she was currently perfecting around her. Making sure the ruffles fluffed out just right and the curls of her man weren't crooked in any way. "You've been awfully quiet, Darling." Her friend flinched. "Is something bothering you?" There was a short pause before she sighed and turned her head to peer at the white unicorn in glasses. "I guess I'm just having pre-date jitters. That's all." Yesterday had seemed like a blur and she almost chalked it up to being a dream. Keyword being almost. If it wasn't for Fluttershy dropping by with a cute Hearts and Hooves Day card(she always gave one to her friends and family) and wishing her luck on her date with Discord. Of course she was prepared and read One Hundred and Two Tips For Interspecies Dating Cadence had leant her. Unfortunately, it didn't cover draconequues. So she went to Plan B! Who was the most expert in dating and relationships in close range? "I don't entirely blame you, Twilight. This is Discord we're talking about....Lift your wing please." She did as she asked silently. Rarity may have not seemed like the best choice in relationship advice, but she had enough experience with failed dates and crushes to know what to look out for. And to help her get ready. "I honestly didn't know you still had this. I haven't seen it since Cadence and Shining Armor's wedding." She looked down at the old bridesmare dress Rarity had dug out. She didn't have time to put together a whole outfit for her, but luckily she had an older dress. All that was needed was some wing room. "I was thinking about donating some of my old fashions to the local performing group, but it seems it was a good thing I held onto this one." "Mmm hmm. I'm sure everything's gonna be fine. It's just Discord after all." The unicorn stopped what she was doing and looked at the alicorn princess with a raised brow. "You sound so unsure about this." "Well, of course!" She whirled around to face her. "This is Discord! Who knows what'll happen?" ".....He did say if it didn't work he would like to remain friends. Did he not?" "Well, yes, but-" "AND you two are on good terms, right?" "Yes, but that's not-"
"AND you gave him your word you would go with him. Did you not?" "YES! But that's-" "Then you should have no problem with it." "Rarity!," the purple alicorn shouted making Rarity look up from her sewing. She let out a breath, "You're right. And as the Princess of Friendship I shouldn't let something like a date get in the way of our friendship. But that's not why I'm...….having doubts." Rarity took her time finishing the last of the stitching before calmly looking at her and asking, "What ever do you mean? I'm sure he'll behave himself. Half way at least." "I.....don't exactly have good dating experience." Rarity turned to trot over behind a curtain of sorts but still listened. "Whatever do you mean? You went on one with that-oh, what's his name- Flash Centry!" Twilight sighed and sat down. "He was nice, and a real gentlecolt, but he wasn't the same outgoing, spunky guy I met in the place they call 'highschool'." The curtain was drawn back and Rarity proudly trotted out wearing an elegant dress that very nicely showed off her natural beauty and well done hair. She noticed her friend's stare and posed. "You like it? I've been saving it for a rainy day." "You look beautiful, Rarity. I'm taking it you have a lucky date," Twilight teased lightly, "Who's the lucky stallion this time?" Rarity giggled. "Capper. He's meeting me later at Sugarcube Corner. But, on the topic of lucky dates- Do give Discord a fair chance." She reached out a hoof to place on her shoulder. "Trust me when I say I know from experience. Sometimes it's better to chance it with a friend then to fall for fancy fake-ness. Besides. It's Hearts and Hooves Day. Nopony deserves to be alone." She slowly smiled. "Thanks, Rarity. I should give him the benefit of the doubt." She nodded her head. "That's good to hear. Now, I suggest we both go before our dates come looking for us."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the time she left Rarity and went back to the giant castle, she realized not much time had passed as she had thought. Only maybe two hours at most. That just left more time to let her mind wonder about all the crazy things that could happen. This WAS Discord after all. So, she did what she normally did when stressed. She read. She wasn't sure exactly how long she'd been(trying to) reading the same two pages, but it felt like an eternity. Especially with her past of awkward non romantic experiences and having basically zero confidence in that area. Perhaps if she pretended that this was just a fun platonic get together with a guy friend? Yeah! That's it! Just look at this as one of those girl buddy guy buddy hangouts. She had those with spike all the time. Heck! It just might be more fun with Discord's crazy antics. She released a sigh of relief at her idea and was finally able to turn the page- "EEEKKK!!!"
The book was dropped to the ground with a thud. She scurried back against the couch at the sight of a giant red and yellow eye staring at her from the page. "Discord!" A deep chuckle filled the air before the familiar flash of light lit up in front of her. A moment later, she was staring up at the smiling creature. "I was wondering when you would turn to me. I was waiting for almost an hour you know. It's very rude to ignore your date." She face hooved. "I didn't know you would-! *sigh* Nevermind. You're here. Let's go and do whatever you planned." He hummed. "Straight to the point I see. But, I may have to change my original plans. She tilted her head confused. "Why?" He pointed his lion paw at her outfit. "My dress?" "If I had known you would dress up like this just for out date, I would've planned something much better suiting." "What? You don't have to-" "Nonsense," he cut her off, "A pretty dress like this doesn't deserve to be wasted. If anything, it'll make things much more fun." "Fun? Fun how?" He smiled. "You'll see soon enough." He raised his eagle claw to snap again. A bright flash of white light filled the room making her squeeze her eyes shut. The sudden shift in environment gave her an uneasy feeling as she was forced on her hooves once again. She opened her magenta eyes, but had to blink a few times to actually take in her new surroundings. "Discord, where are we?" Giant buildings loomed overhead as the sun had just began to set. Yeesh! She spent more time getting ready at Rarity's then she thought. It couldn't be Canterlot. Canterlot had a more.....fancy atmosphere to it. "Manehatton. I knew the young nobles of Canterlot had driven you up a wall, and they don't need to be encouraged by seeing you all dolled up for today." She finally looked at him and blinked. The orange tux from the last gala was back. He noticed her stare and quirked an eyebrow. "Is the tophat too much?" "Wha- Uh! No no. You look really good in orange." He lit up an her compliment. "Why thank you, my dear. And might I say-" He suddenly shot down and grabbed one of her hooves. "-YOU look lovely tonight.~" Her face flushed a deep purple at his compliment. Discord chuckled at her reaction before nodding towards the building in front of them. "Shall we?" She only nodded and he extended a limb. "Well, Princesses first.~" What looked like a simple house in the middle of a city had turned out to be some kind of restaurant. A few couples were seated here and there making googoo eyes at each other or talking. It seemed that this café was cottage themed? It certainly wasn't over the top. "Hi there!" Twilight jumped from the new voice. A slightly smaller pony stared at them in a waitress outfit. She smiled a mouth full of braces at them. "Welcome to Cozy Critters! How can I help you today?" "Just the regular and table for me, Bubbles. You might want to take her order though," Discord piped up before she could. She nodded and turned around. "Follow me please." They were lead to a small table near the back and sat down. Twilight thanked her and took the menu in an aura of purple magic. It showed plenty of options, but she didn't feel like anything fancy though so- "I think I'll just have the hayburger and-" She looked up and froze at what she saw. "-some water. Discord. Are you eating a table?"
The draconequues smiled down at her with his mouth full. A small coffee table was in his hands. Neither noticed the waitress walk away. He gulped before answering. "Why yes. How very observant of you. This is my usual after all." "Why?" "Twilight, the better question is why not. You are talking to THE embodiment of Chaos." He had a point. She shook her head but smiled. "I guess you're right." She glanced around. "Where are we anyways?" "Fluttershy's favorite restaurant. It reminds her of home, and they DO have excellent tables." He took another bite of the table. It splintered and made a crunching sound where he bit down. "Oh. Well, it's really not what I expected, but it's very nice." She paused when something hit her. "Hey." He hummed. "You said you had plans before you decided on this. What was it?" He shrugged. "Just some star gazing up close and seeing the making of a super nova. But, this is probably better. Less noise and more room to talk." Her jaw dropped. "Are you being serious?" "Completely." A small silence followed with him continuing to eat his table. Eventually the waitress pony came back expertly balancing a tray on her head. She bent down and slid it in front of the princess. "Will there be anything else?" Discord shook his head. "No, Bubbles. Just put that on my tab, dear." The burger was pretty good as she bit into it over and over,. The two ate in silence for what seemed like forever- "You seem pretty quiet." She jolted, almost dropping her water, and looked up at him. He still smiled with a raised brow. He no longer had his table so she assumed he finished eating. "O-Oh. Sorry. I just-I'm not familiar with this kinda stuff." "Surely you have been on a date before." His smile faded and his brow rose further. "With all these young stallions' sudden interest, I thought you'd at least go on a coffee date." She coughed nervously and rubbed the back of her neck. Averting her eyes nervously. "I....uh....Went on one. And I'm the one who kinda asked him. B-B-But it's ok. We're good friends." "And you never accepted when someone else asked you?" He stroked his beard in thought. "How interesting." She shrugged. "They were interested, but their reasons weren't really that sincere." "Understandable." He waved a paw and a glass of chocolate milk appeared in it. "If their intentions weren't pure, then you shouldn't feel pressured to go." He took a gulp. "That's exactly how I feel!" She watched him chuckle and continue to drink. She had to admit she didn't expect Discord of all people to ask her out. Speaking of which- "Discord. Why intentions did you have for asking me?" He stopped mid sip and looked at her. "I guess it's finally that time, hmm?" He made his drink disappear with a flash, and leaned across the table. "I already told you last night, but knowing you, you'd want a more detailed answer. It's simple really." "Then why? Besides my obvious immortality." He chuckled again. "Besides that. Like I said before. You challenge me. Sure a chaotic life is plenty fun by itself, but what's life without a challenge every now and then? Hmm. Easy gets boring after a while. Plus-" He reached a hand over to boop her nose. "-You had some chaotic moments. I can name a few." She tutted. "Really? What?" He raised fingers as he spoke. "Oh. That time you cast those spells to change Fluttershy into a bat, make everypony want your smarty doll thing, have all those parasprites literally eat the town. And let's not forget when you switched everyone's cutie marks. Oh! What about the time you tried to figure out Pinkie's sense? Or when you thought I hypnotized everyone because you were jealous-" "Ok, ok!"
He outright laughed at her sudden intervention. "Shall I continue?" "No. That's ok. I think I get the picture." He leaned back to his full height. "But, I guess the main reason is the old saying that opposites attract. And who is more opposite than us two?" He winked. And despite herself, she giggled and pointed at him. "I thought I was supposed to be the one with love logic," she teased. He placed a paw to his chest in mock shock. "My dear starbutt. Wouldn't it be chaos if I started using logic? Hmhm." The rest of the night was actually quite relaxing and his play on logic made her more at ease. By the time she noticed how late it was, Discord had already snapped his fingers and in a flash of light, they reappeared inside her library. She blinked again again at the uneasy feeling of being forced on her hooves without warning. When she looked back up at Discord, the spirit was floating next to her without the tux. "Did you have fun?" "Yes!," she happily shouted, "Tonight was better than I thought it would be." She smiled sheepishly. "Thank you for treating me to such a lovely experience, Discord." His smile widened. "Think nothing of it. I rather enjoyed myself. Though I can't leave without giving you one last thing." "Oh? What's tha-" She froze as something warm pressed against her cheek. As quickly as it came it left, and Discord chuckled. "A good bye kiss. We should do this again sometime. Tata." In another flash of light, he was gone. Leaving her and her growing blush.
THE BIG PICTURE
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is an animated series exploring Peter Parker's early years as a hero in a new multiverse continuity.
The show features iconic characters like Doctor Strange, Norman Osborne, Aunt May, and a gallery of villains set to challenge Spidey.
Craig of the Creek 's Jeff Trammell is behind the series, which is set to premiere on Disney+ on November 2, 2024.
Everyone's favorite web-slinger has made his way to D23 for the new animated prequel-adjacent series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Releasing later this year, it's set to portray a variant of Peter Parker's life before first donning the mask and suit in the MCU and during his uneasy first days as a hero in New York. It's been some time since fans were given their first look at the early Spider-Man comics-inspired animation, but the biennial fan expo remedied that with a massive update on the project, with a new convention-exclusive sneak peek at the project.
As reported by Collider's Aidan Kelley and Taylor Gates, the footage featured Peter Parker (Hudson Thames) at school, where his day is interrupted by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) coming through a portal along with a horned symbiote. We see Peter bitten by a spider in a sequence demonstrating how he got his powers, before the footage catches up with him a few months later, with Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo) helping him strategize as his "guy in the chair."
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is being billed as a meeting between Spidey's earliest years on the page as portrayed by Stan Lee and his earliest years in the MCU. When Tom Holland's web-slinger first appeared on-screen in Captain America: Civil War, he had already obtained his powers a year prior, leaving a gap to fill in between. However, this series will still take place in a different continuity within the multiverse, exploring how Peter navigates the life of a teenager after first getting his powers. His abilities and sense of duty will be tested as he is immediately thrust into battle with formidable foes to protect the city.
One major difference between the series and the MCU is who takes young Peter under their wing. Instead of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Spidey gets some much-needed guidance from Norman Osborn, who helps Peter survive high school while he comes into his own as a hero.
Who Is Behind 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man'?
Tumblr media
Marvel Studios Head of TV and Streaming Brad Winderbaum also emphasized how important the ensemble around these two will be to the series and Spider-Man's growth, with classic characters from his history that haven't yet appeared in the MCU like Lonnie Lincoln, Nico Minoru, and even Harry Osborn appearing alongside Doctor Strange, Aunt May, and a rogue's gallery of villains ranging from iconic to more obscure. He's also slated to run into Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, setting up a team-up between the web-slinger and the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.
Craig of the Creek writer and story editor Jeff Trammell was tapped to create Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man for Marvel when the series was first announced in 2021 under the guise of Spider-Man: Freshman Year. His resume is full of animated hits, with credits on The Owl House, Amphibia, and the 2023 origin film Craig Before the Creek. Animation, meanwhile, is handled by Polygon Pictures, which has previously worked on episodes of Love, Death & Robots, Transformers Prime, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars among other things. This is just one such Spider-Man-related project in the works at Marvel, alongside a new film starring Holland that has been inching along in development, a Spider-Man Noir series at Prime Video starring a returning Nicolas Cage, and the trilogy capper Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is currently slated to premiere on Disney+ on November 2. Stay tuned here at Collider for more coverage from D23 throughout the rest of the weekend.
Today's mix:
01.1 by Timecode 2001 Drum n Bass
Holy mother of god, this thing was fucking magnificent! 🤯 Here we're kicking off the week with another mix from Rob Playford, the owner of top-shelf UK dnb label Moving Shadow, who operates as a DJ under the name of Timecode. Last week, I gave a listen to an excellent prior dispatch by Playford from this same Moving Shadow 'year-decimal' sampler mix series called 99.2, and for years I've also been cherishing 99.1, but with this 01.1 set, Rob appears to have raised the bar by a significant margin.
However, I will say this up front: I actually don't find this mix to be nearly as consistent as those other two. A lot of the first half of this set is just way too clean, simple, and linear for my own liking. Unless we're talking that soul-piercingly jazzy type of atmospheric stuff that people like LTJ Bukem are especially known for excelling at, I tend to like my drum n bass to sound like what you'd imagine the mad scrawlings of a disturbed child in a psychological horror sound like. Like, when the kid just sits in their psychologist's office for an hour and turns in a big, black, and fuzzy circle of absolute crazy? That's the type of shit I'm on. And It really takes a good while for this mix to whip itself up into that sublime state of blind frenzy.
And while 99.2 is a purely steady and fun bounce-fest, this one sees Playford adding a substantial dose of murky and corrosive subterranean grime to his brew. Basically, whatever the polar opposite of a flower needing water and constant, direct sunlight is, in order for it to grow from just a seed in the ground into its fully formed self with unfurled petals and all, is what this mix is.
And nothing in this set will probably fuck your head up more than its rightful and jaw-dropping capper, Dom & Roland's 9-plus minute extravaganza that is "Imagination." This is a patently bonkers track that surrounds its pumping breaks with thick hazes of eerie ambience and wickedly rumbling and dubby, zapping sub-bass. And it has its own drum-less breakdown too, à la progressive trance. Plus, Dom also appears before this one on a tune with Ryme Tyme called "Iceberg," which as a standalone track is actually relatively calm and still; but that then just opens up an opportunity for Playford to sow even more chaos by blending it with a track with a whole lot more action on it: D Kay's "Monolith," which is a song that maintains its vigor with intermittent insertions of dope jungle fills that signify a change in the succeeding bars every time that they're deployed 🤘. Hearing those little morsels of jungle play simultaneously alongside "Iceberg" definitely make for some of the best moments on this mix.
And one final thing before we close out: both 99.1 and 99.2 came with bonus discs that contained extra promotional content for Grand Theft Auto 2 on them. This release doesn't have anything like that, but the GTA-Moving Shadow partnership still continued on with this mix, as apparently you can hear portions of it on the MSX FM station in GTA3, with MCing done on top of the selections by Code:Breaker. And this also wasn't the only videogame series that Moving Shadow was affiliated with, either. "Imagination" actually first appeared on another popular Rockstar title in 2000, Midnight Club: Street Racing.
So maybe you'll impatiently tap your foot and point at your watch for a bit after first starting this thing up, but as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. Just give this one some time, and the radioactive freak will eventually bust out of its padlocked cage and turn you rabid 😌. It's certainly not always the most satisfying set, but when 01.1 gets to where it needs to go, it really is an unbelievable y2k era drum n bass experience 🤤.
Listen to the full mix here.
Highlights:
Calyx - "Quagmire" Rascal & Klone - "Get Wild" Ryme Tyme - "Judgement Day" Rascal & Klone - "The Grind" Ryme Tyme - "T Minus" nCode - "Spasm" D Kay - "Monolith" Dom & Ryme Tyme - "Iceberg" Rascal & Klone - "The Phoenix" Aquasky - "Uptight" Shere Khan - "One Day" Technical Itch - "Crystal" Dom & Roland - "Imagination"
more ave mujica thoughts.. really good episode this week ;w;
ohhh my god hatsune. i love her so much. incredible arc on her character holy shit. the way she's so desperate to be loved.. all her life she's been fed this narrative, intentionally or not, that she's a mistake and needs to be kept out of the way, and she's so quick to feel guilty when she believes she's done something to hurt sakiko, even if she really had no meaningful control over whatever happened (like with sakiko's father losing his place in the family, and again this episode feeling she betrayed sakiko by following her back to her home after sadaharu asked her to bring sakiko back, even though she never actually agreed to his request), and with the way all this loneliness has been building in her character it does land with a real impact when sakiko *does* reach back for her, does offer hatsune that place and that personhood she's been longing for. it's a really strong beat for sakiko's own character as well, given the way she's been drifting aimlessly and trying limply to keep herself from getting any more wounded, so watching her finally make up her mind to hold onto what's precious to her, no longer letting her family's expectations define what steps she feels free to take, is really nice to see. it was really lovely watching them trying to get reacquainted, watching sakiko be determined to hang onto hatsune no matter what, invoking their vow as her responsibility to see through, and seeing the effect of tomori's companionship still shining through, and i think it wrapped up the development of their dynamic thus far really well.
i'm really not sure what to expect going into the last episode - this one could itself have been a soft ending for the series, but i don't believe the threat of the power of the togawa group is entirely toothless even now, and certainly sakiko still feels some creeping dread over the band's fate, and anyway i'm not sure if they could reasonably fill a full twenty minute episode with fluffy bandori-typical writing and make it a satisfying capper to this season, so i guess we'll see lol. it's less that i think there are any loose ends that really need tying up, but more that, *because* there are so few loose ends, i can't imagine what they'll do to make the last episode compelling emotionally that won't be playing on the seeds for future conflict they already sowed in this episode. i've never been great at making predictions though so don't look to me as a barometer lol.
i do really love hatsune.. i referred to her as the spectre of the real uika in an earlier post, and i love how this episode literalizes this idea - her family lives on the mainland now, but she's stayed behind as a caretaker of this villa that's empty and no one visits, nothing but memories of the person she's longed for and the person she's pretended to be to keep her company, this shell of a person who doesn't know how to feel human alone. i know that i talked for a long time as if her feelings for sakiko were romantic - and i still don't think that's an incorrect read, this girl is incredibly lonely and has attached so much of herself to sakiko, as upsetting as it is i don't think those feelings being romantic needs to be something we shy away from acknowledging as viewers, and that can't ultimately be worked through productively - but it adds so much to the emotions at play here that this lack she feels is distinctly familial, that she's felt so isolated from even her own immediate family all her life, and that the joy of being at sakiko's side isn't just about being seen, about being human, but about having this personal connection to her own family that she's been denied. i made a shitpost comparing her to nanami kiryuu about a week ago, but i do think there's a lot of truth in it; despite the way nanami acts, all she really wants is to be seen, to be thought of, like, at all - what she wants is an older brother who will stand up for her, look out for her, be her playmate, and because the world around her says that men and women naturally only engage meaningfully through romance, and further professes that romantic feelings are the deepest and truest, that is the kind of relationship she idealizes for herself and touga. while bandori certainly isn't dissecting gender roles and cisheteronormativity in society the way rgu does, there's still a similar idea here that because hatsune feels so empty, and has so idealized sakiko as the person who can fill that gap, her feelings for her encompass the whole spectrum, whether or not it strays into the taboo, and it's going to take time and actually knowing sakiko and a lot of working through herself before hatsune can identify what it is that she really wants out of this relationship.
really, really good show.. i can't believe next week is the last episode already what the fuck
Whoops posted this early by accident lmao
Anyway, here's the Rarity and Capper fankids! Their description is under the cut.
I've been wanting to redesign these two for ages tbh. I was never that happy with Sparkler's colors and I had designed Snow Belle before I really figured out her personality. So I tweaked them a bit, to make Belle more sporty and spunky (also swapped out her back paws for hooves and her unicorn tail for a cat one) and gave Sparkler tuxedo coloring! And also a scarf, since she likes making clothes with her mom.
Here's their updated bio info:
Name: Sparkler Nickname: Sparky (Capper's really the only one who calls her this), Sparks    Age: Teenager  Pronouns: She/her  Parents: Capper Dapperpaws and Rarity    Bio: Rarity and Capper's adopted daughter! They spent quite a few arduous years filling out all the correct paperwork and doing interviews but they were finally able to adopt their daughter Sparkler as a very young kitten. Rarity was overwhelmed with joy at finally being able to hold her daughter, and spent the next few weeks bursting into happy tears every time Sparkler purred beside her. Sparkler discovered very early on that she preferred being a girl over a boy, as she was initially gendered, and her parents happily accepted her change in pronouns (Rarity took to it without any trouble, but Capper does tend to trip up now and then much to his embarrassment). Sparkler is spunky, cheerful, and down to earth; she enjoys sewing clothes with her mother, though she doesn't have as much interest in trying the outfits on herself. She and Rain Shower (Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's son) have been friends ever since they started at Twilight's school, because she was never interested in fawning over him like many of the other students. She has a big unrequited crush on Bowtie, Pinkie and Cheese's son and Rarity's Canterlot assistant, that she enjoys sighing dramatically over a tall glass of milk at the end of the day.
Name: Snow Belle  Nickname: Snow Ball, Belle Age: Child  Pronouns: She/her Parents: Capper Dapperpaws and Rarity Cutie Mark: Athletics  Bio: Capper and Rarity's little surprise kitten. They had no idea that they were biologically able to conceive, having briefly talked to a doctor who shot down any possibility of it happening. Yet low and behold when Sparkler was around 5, Rarity realized she was pregnant. It was a hard pregnancy and Snow Belle was born very fragile and weak, having to spend the first months of her life in the hospital. As she grew older though, she was actually very outdoorsy and athletic. She has a cheerful outward disposition, but suffers from pretty severe anxiety. She desperately wants to be accepted by everyone and tends to use her sports prowess as a way to endear herself to the other ponies at her school (though she just as often uses sports as comforting stress relief; can't have an anxiety attack about everyone hating you if you run so many laps you pass out). She loves sports of any kind, but has a particular fondness for tennis and gymnastics. Snow Belle's horn is very undersized and the only magic it can do is glow and pick up objects. It serves her well enough in sports so it's underpowered aspects don't bother her much. She's good friends Clover (Soarin and Applejack's youngest daughter), Silver, and Ruby (Gabi and Spike's kids) and they have a pretty tight nit group. She and Silver are especially close, with very clear crushes on each other. Ruby and Clover are disgusted with this.
Relationships with each other: Sparkler and Snow Belle are very close, though Sparkler wasn't sure what to make of her at first. First she was worried that Snow Belle would take all of her parents attention away, but then she just never showed up! After quite some time in the hospital, Sparkler was finally allowed to visit her little sister and her first thought upon seeing the undersized kitten was "I would kill a man for you". Snow Belle idolizes her older sister, but sometimes to the point of not wanting to bother her with her fears and anxieties.
Relationships with their parents: Their whole family unit is very close as a whole! Sparkler and Rarity are especially close, sharing a love of gossip and clothes making. Snow Belle and Capper love to race through Everfree Forest and he's very proud of her athletic abilities. Capper understands how his daughters sometimes feel like outsiders and does his best to support them in any way he can. Rarity can and will fight other parents at Parent Teacher meetings if they turn their noses up at her kids.
Sorry, Hayley Williams and Fall Out Boy: Marjorie has stolen the show again. Not that Taylor Swift’s beloved grandmother actually puts in a vocal appearance from the great beyond, as she did on the “Evermore” album three years ago. But Marjorie Finlay still manages to be a dominative force in the Vault Tracks for the newly released “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” by having her photos appear throughout the lyric video for the closing track, “Timeless,” and having her relationship with Taylor’s granddad be a focus of the inspirational ballad. Twenty-first-century pop-punk or emo can hardly compete with that emotional a capper.
But for those less sentimentally inclined, Paramore’s singer and Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump will be way up there in what Swift fans immediately take away from the six previously unheard compositions that have been appended to the previous 16-track running order of 2010’s “Speak Now.” The duet with Williams, “Castles Crumbling,” is particularly pungent, as a lament that just about could have been an outtake from the more recent “Folklore” or “Evermore” instead of an album that came out a full decade before those. As for the FOB-aided track, it’s the farthest thing from a Swift classic. But — having been written, like the rest of these tracks, when the artist was 18 or 19 — the number does hark back to an era when girls (and Fall Out Boys) could just wanna have fun.
A more careful inspection of the 16 re-recorded tracks will have to wait, since the details of what feels the same or different bear a certain amount of forensic analysis, or at least repeated A/B comparisons. (Of course, the whole world has just done an instant side-by-side of the altered lyrics of “Better Than Revenge” — see our story about that here.) But before we figure out how more or less haunting the new “Haunted” is, here are insta-reactions to the six never-before-heard tunes.
“Electric Touch”: Although the recreations of the 16 original songs credit Christopher Rowe as Swift’s co-producer (filling in for O.G. producer Nathan Chapman), when it comes to the six Vault Tracks, Swift splits those producing collaborations between her two modern-day mainstays, Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff. Neither guy gets to do anything either as modern-sounding or eccentric as they have on Swift’s last few albums — they stay true to the stylistic spirit of 2010, for the most part, with the organic pop-rock band sound she favored at the time. “Electric Touch” is probably the least immediately interesting song here, compositionally; it lacks any of the truly great, peculiar lines that mark a Swift song as unmistakably hers (or “Mine”). Yet embedded underneath the hopeful, anthemic and — honestly — somewhat generic rock veneer is a lot of the pessimism and self-doubt that goes so far toward making Swift our most relatable superstar. “I’m trying hard not to look like I’m trying,” Stump sings, stealing some of 19-year-old Taylor’s lines, “’cause every time I tried hard for love it fell apart.” It’s the uneasy tension between luck and predestined loss that gives this one a little tension amid the breeziness, before it tips on the side of even the losers getting lucky sometimes.
“When Emma Falls in Love”: Dessner is at the co-reins again on this one, but this time leading things off with a lilting piano that lends the song a childlike spirit. On the scale of sweet songs about fictional girls that have Swift doing a little third-person projecting, “Emma” is close to being up with there with “Betty.” “She’s the kind of book that you can’t put down / Like if Cleopatra grew up in a small town / And all the bad boys would be good boys / If they only had a chance to love her.” Any chance this could actually be about a small-town gal from Reading, Pennsylvania? Nah, because Emma makes all the right moves and figures out that’s how you get the boy. It has a happy ending right out of “Love Story,” but by the time of making what was her third album, Swift was feeling like she had to assign something that cheerful to an alter ego.
“I Can See You”: Well, now, here is a groove. Jack Antonoff comes on board for the first time on the revamped album, and you might have to look to “1989’s” “Style” to find another song in the Swift catalog that benefits as much from the simple electric funkiness of a well-played rhythm guitar. (This particular riff sounds especially fine in headphones, landing just off the beat and bouncing between ears ever so slightly.) Swift never had an office job, but must have attended Take Your Daughter to Work Day just enough to wonder what it’d be like to seduce a guy in a suit and tie. “I could see you up against the wall with me,” she sings — because she knows places you two can hide, and they’re just around the corner from the copy machine!
“Castles Crumbling”: As mentioned, this sounds like a flash-forward to the Swift Songbook of 2020, and surely would have had a different production in 2010 than it gets now with the artist and Antonoff updating as a more modern mood piece. Williams is her duet partner on this one, and it recalls Swift’s vocal collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers on the previous “Taylor’s Version” just a little, in that both this song and “Nothing New” have her writing about foreseeing the end of her fame, or at least her acclaim. In a way, its paranoia prefigures the defensiveness against a fan base she sees turning on her that would come to real fruition in later years on the “Reputation” album. But in another sense, this is the less chin-up mirror image of “Mean,” a song that obviously did make the original “Speak Now.” “Mean” had her bucking up against a blogger who told her she “can’t sing,” and in this number, it’s as if she imagines a whole nation of fans as that blogger, turning backs on her. It’s like she’s following that maxim about imagining the worst and you won’t get disappointed.
“Foolish One”: A strummed acoustic guitar starts this one, and although a bit of drum programming soon kicks in that probably isn’t what Nathan Chapman would’ve done, it still belongs distinctly to the turn of the decade it came from. As with “Electric Touch,” this teeters back and forth between possible optimism about the outcome of a relationship and fatalism, but lands on the side of one-sided love doomed to go to heck in a handbasket. It still sounds impossibly cheerful, in the way that Swift’s falsetto tips up at the end of lines, as is so often her trademark, with a final realization: “He just wasn’t the one.” What’s with this gentle acceptance, for a singer we want to obsess over scarves forever?
“Timeless”: The most truly “organic”-sounding of all the bonus tracks on this new edition — it has ukulele and flute floating in the background behind those acoustic guitars and organs — “Timeless” is a ballad you can imagine Swift having considered for a “Speak Now” album-closer at the time, instead of the brotherhood-of-the-road anthem “Long Live.” Most of the initial lyric videos Swift put up on YouTube have visuals of the static or circular screen-saver variety, but this one is the exception, consisting largely of a lot of photographs of Swift’s grandparents, modeling a great love she believes would have happened in any era, falling just shy of putting in an endorsement for reincarnation. It’s not the emotional tour de force that the song “Marjorie” was — there’s no otherworldly soprano reaching out from beyond the grave to jerk your tears, here, and good, since fans can only handle so much of that in one lifetime. But the grandmother’s solely visual cameo may still ply misty from you.
Wikipedia calls Todd Haynes’ SAFE (1995, DVD) a psychological horror film, while the IMDb lists it simply as a drama. To me it also has elements of high comedy, albeit a fairly wintery one. Carol White’s (Julianne Moore) development of an undisclosed illness disrupts the carefully sculpted lives of her upper-middle-class cohorts. It queers their socially sanctioned domesticity, which reflects one of the basic conflicts of the horror film. At the same time, her character, a woman who’s been raised to be the object of someone else’s life and has neither thoughts nor words of her own, could be viewed as a horror. Her body becomes the monster rebelling against social repression.
Moore lives in a world of peach and teal, as well as numerous chemicals, from the automobile exhaust on the Southern California streets and freeways to the sprays and cleaners her housekeeper uses right next to the family’s food. When she starts feeling ill, she can’t describe her symptoms concretely because she has no words of her own. So, her husband and friends view her malaise as an annoyance, and her doctor decides she needs a psychiatrist. Then she sees a sign offering support services for people with multiple chemical sensitivity and not only attends sessions but also moves to a New Age community in the desert that’s as rigidly structured and unforgiving as the suburban life she’s had to escape. The guru (Peter Friedman) teaches the residents their medical and mental problems all stem from lack of self-love. But how can Moore love a self that doesn’t exist?
Haynes does his best to distance us from Moore’s character. There are very few closeups in the film, and he times scenes to throw in a dash of absurdity at the end. When Carol’s husband (Xander Berkeley) has sex with her with no regard for her needs, she finishes the encounter by patting him on the shoulder. Friedman makes big pronouncements about learning not to blame others for your problems, but then Haynes undercuts him with a cheesy group sing or a reaction shot from Carol’s visiting stepson, who can clearly see what he’s full of. And just to make sure you don’t miss the point, there’s a quick shot of Friedman’s home, a mansion in the hills looking down on the cheap cabins where the paying customers stay. Haynes also has an uncanny sense of detail.  The suburban houses, all in in the same colors, seem to have been decorated impersonally (a friend in the catering business has said that some of his richest clients simply hired people to fill their homes with objects that had no personal meaning to them). And Carol’s move from her suburban world to the support groups and retreat is reflected in the change from women around her who look like dolls — all with similar hair, dresses and makeup — to women who look like human beings, with faces and bodies society would view as imperfect.
Moore’s characterization is conceptual. She speaks in a high-pitched, breathy voice and keeps her eyes wide open. But she also manages to live within those technical choices. At times she seems to be giving Shelly Duvall’s best performance. There’s also gemlike supporting work from Friedman, Kate McGregor-Stewart as the retreat’s enthusiastic administrator, Jessica Harper as a fellow patient dealing with her young son’s death, Mary Carver as a resident angry about her husband’s death and James Le Gros as a resident who’d like to break the retreat’s no-sex rule with Moore. The film is a trifle too long. Haynes makes all the points we need about Carol’s home environment and then keeps going. And some critics found the ending too ambiguous. I thought it was a fascinating capper to the way Carol can only express ideas she’s already received. It may be the film’s most horrifying moment.
