Follo is saved! The extermination is a success! More mysteries!

This chapter touches on a question that had been plaguing our mind in past couple chapters: Can Rudo awaken other people’s Jinki?

The answer is a probable yes!

As Semiu puts it, Rudo triggered Follo’s awakening. This is the first time we see human anima interact with each other on screen. It is not the same as Eishia’s healing process. Who knows what other side effects may rise from this. It is important to remember that Follo already has the foundations to become a Giver. Rudo only gave the final push.

Is this an ability unique to gloves? I do think it’s not a coincidence that it is the gloves that trigger Jinki’s activation. In BNHA, hands is an important motif. Reaching out to help is the theme of the entire series. Rudo reached out to help Follo. It’s a chemical reaction that led to his awakening as a Giver.

Yet Arkha specifically asked if Follo has his gloves on when he used his Jinki. Gloves are meant to protect the hands. He is another character who always wear gloves. The other is Kuro. You know what, I think I’ll go back and read the whole manga to see who wear gloves.

Do other Watchman Series have hidden powers as well? So far a Jinki’s power is the reflection of its owner. What if the Watchman Series have other power specific to their original purpose?That would be interesting.

Amo’s Jinki are her shoes. The entire point of footwear is to protect the feet. Amo for the most part get stuck in one place. She has yet to take a step forward out of her own volition. Sure, Amo wandered around the desert, but she didn’t have the courage to return to society/civilization back then. She had to lure people instead. Now that she got taken in by the Cleaners, we might get to see her take a step toward healing and interact with the broader world. Amo got a whole new journey ahead of her.

Zodyl’s Jinki is a coat. It is an outerwear meant to provide warmth and coverage. So far he use his Jinki as extension of himself, allowing greater mobility and offense. Maybe it originally has defensive function. Who knows? We will have to wait and see.

Now back to the characters!

Follo chose to keep his scars as a reminder. He lost his cool, messed up, and paid for it. I like that he owned up to his mistakes and work to improve. And this time he’s the one to reach out to Rudo! He wants to be his friend!

Rudo wants friends!!! It’s even in his To Do List!!! The boy finally got it!!!!!

When Tamsy question Rudo about why he didn’t activate a third tool, the focus shifted to Tomme. It’s just one panel, but Urana never does anything without a reason. Tomme is the record-keeper. She observe everything and jot it all down. This means she might notice things that escape other characters. I look forward to see more of her.

The Doll Festival is right around the corner. Can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes <3
