i forgot ocarina of time is just. so. gooood

like i sat down feeling miserable thinking id just try a bit of the deku tree, ended up playing like an hour and a half all the way through meeting zelda, the longest ive been able to play anything in weeks

it's gotta remind you every time why it defined a generation

#i hadnt played since like 2011 #AND THE RUMBLE?????!?!??!???? perfection #I'd never played with rumble before i had no idea it even supported it #beautiful #and playing again now having played so many top action/adventure rpgs from before and around its time #man i can feel the leap in bringing the world to life. it still stokes the imagination to this day #it took far more pages from the book of western crpgs than i realized. it's wonderful seeing the ways it toys with traditional concepts #something familiar and yet altogether new #what a masterpiece #im so used to thinking about it in context of the zelda series #finally returning to the primary source material im suddenly experiencing it in a wider context of the game design of the era in general #rediscovering its truly staggering impact once again #cheers OoT. youre still a crown jewel of the video game canon.#a true essential experience i could recommend to everyone at some point in their life
