The child's yellow eyes widen, filled with both bewilderment and hope as they switch between focusing on Shadow and his hand until finally landing onto the hand. What does he mean? He's lived a harsh life, they can definitely tell. Are they going to end up like him if they aren't careful?

Despite all evidence pointing to the ebony hedgehog being trustworthy, hesitation keeps them from committing to take his gloved hand. And the second the clawed tips of their fingers brush against his own, Echo yanks theirs away, keeping to themselves once more.

They have to make double sure he means well should whatever doubt they have in their mind goes away, and so this burning feeling eases up. That seems to happen whenever their heart rate increases and man did they hate whenever it happened.

"Do you promise? Good people don't break promises."

   ⌦ SHOULDERS SLOWLY SLUMPED as the onyx shaded hedgehog gave into his thoughts. Should've suspected GUN and the other groups weren't done with their experiments. One would think, after Shadow, they'd know better. They couldn't replicate perfection. Frowning to himself, he reached a hand out to them. 

       "I have a familiar feeling that we are from a similar place. I do not wish for you to suffer and continue down a path of destruction, guilt and heartbreak," You'll be the version that should've been me. 

     If he had to steal away Echo, so be it. Besides, the rodent was just a kid. They had a whole life and future ahead of them, might as well start their freedom now. If they had personal upgrades like Shadow, he could train them. Something about them. . . was this the same feeling Maria felt when she took him in as the older sibling? She had the right idea; perhaps this could be a new start at something greater.

       "Come with me. I'll. . . keep you safe."
