On July 27, the Day of Medical Workers in Ukraine, Ukraine acknowledged and expressed gratitude to its medical workers, who work tirelessly in harsh conditions under constant threat of attack to provide compassionate care to both injured civilians and soldiers in hospitals and on the front lines around the clock. 🇺🇦🚑🏥💙💛👏🙏🇺🇦

The demand for medical care in Ukraine has skyrocketed since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war in 2022.

Hospitals are working tirelessly to provide care to both injured civilians and soldiers, while combat medics are saving lives on the front lines around the clock.

Russia has been regularly striking at medical facilities using drones, missiles, artillery, and other weapons across Ukraine. Medics also come under fire when Russia launches “double-tap” attacks targeting first responders after they arrive at scenes of initial strikes.

A total of 1,642 medical facilities have been damaged, and another 214 facilities have been completely destroyed since 2022, Ukraine’s Health Ministry reported on July 22.
