Me, needing to write something for myself: wait but what if it's not right @wyervan is this right?
Proceeded to rewrite it twice before it got looked at and then another time after because we realized it is in fact publishable for the public viewing and I'm a perfectionist (not seen in my daily writing don't judge me please)
anyway tw needed for animal cruelty. Not torture just. Eos is fine, I promise. So is Moon's hand.
Ellis’s newest purchase is a luxury: a TV with a built in VHS player and especially long cord. They’re delighted by the purchase, immediately renting a “shit ton” (Sun’s “Language! netted an eye roll in his direction) of movies they wanted to catch up on. They are talking excitedly about what they want to watch first at Star when Moon steps inside for a break from the kids.
When he expresses interest in the movies they rented, Ellis invites Moon to join them, “without breaking in for once,” they joke. It’d be Monday after the arcade’s closed for the night. Ellis usually does skoolie maintenance on Mondays, getting gas and changing water and pulling close to the building so they can charge the auxiliary generator.
Monday nights are also the start of Sun and Moon’s other work days.
Moon… agrees, much to Sun’s dismay.
“And just how am I supposed to go out with my jester-in-crime?” They’re alone currently, and Sun’s draped himself dramatically over one of the lower locker’s open door, angling himself to watch Moon’s face even as he tap tap taps impatiently on the metal.
“You’ll survive one week without me.” Moon fixes his beanie by feel, letting most of his hair hang loose.
“But I need it today Moony.”
Moon understands. He’s fiddling with his belongings in his locker to have something to do, tugging on the little nightcap of his mini-Moon currently pinned under a magnet. He’s meant to give it back to Ellis so they can sew it back on the doll’s head. His fingers ache for something different, to tear and slice and—no. The magnet snaps back in place and he shoves the door shut harder than intended.
“Distract yourself. Star mentioned wanting to bowl. We’ll just go out later.” He shoves a hand in his pocket, clenching it until his fingers ache. “Watching movies late. Might stay out.” He doesn’t quite meet Sun’s eye as he turns for the door.
Sun follows after him like an overgrown puppy. “You’ve been getting awfully close to Nova the past few months. Anything going on I should know about?” Sun wheels around Moon, faking a gasp of concern. “Moony, is your virtue still intact? Are they taking advantage of you?”
Sun’s teasing, but Moon feels heat work down his spine like hot wax. When Sun gets close enough, he pushes him away, not trusting his voice. Sun leans against Moon’s arms, and Moon covers Sun’s grin with a hand.
“You would tell me if something’s changed, right?” The cheerful facade’s still there, but Moon can feel the tension held under the surface. He moves his hand up and pushes down, tangling it briefly in wild red curls.
“Would tell you. Now go. Find Star. Have fun.” When Moon releases Sun, he gives a slow smile, one that’s quickly returned. He endures the overly excited if far too brief hug before he’s finally alone in the arcade, waiting for Ellis’s return from the gas station.
The side door opens an indeterminate amount of time later, Ellis walking backwards as they drag a bright orange extension cable to plug in the back. They’re humming to himself, and Moon watches as they move, utterly oblivious to his presence. Sun’s faux to genuine concern makes him shiver and run a hand over the back of his neck to make sure his hair isn’t actually on end.
Ellis is coiling the excess cable out of the way when he approaches, opting to touch their shoulder when he notices a lack of hearing aids. Ellis jumps, their body going tense even as they twist in place and nearly fall. Moon catches them, squeezing their shoulders. An act of reassurance. Not him needing to repress his natural response to Ellis trying to run away.
It would be far too easy to catch them. They can’t even hear his bells without their aids; he and Sun have tested this. Trusting. They’re far too trusting of them.
Ellis says something as they manage to pull away, dragging Moon out of his thoughts and back to reality. They look flustered. Moon can only stuff his hands as deep into his pockets as he can manage, clenching them until his nails leave deep impressions in his palms. Ellis has their back to him again, pushing the cable out of the walkway as they lead the way back to the door. Moon follows in silence. It’s only because of the time he’s let the thoughts linger at all. His hands hurt, and he squeezes them tighter.
The bed in the bus is somewhere between a full and queen. Comfortable enough for Moon when he sneaks in for his midday nap, absolutely decadent for Ellis on their own. Less so when they’re sandwiched in together, the television perched on the edge like the most awkward box shaped bird. Ellis has pressed against his side, a hot line of contact made all the worse when they rest their head against his shoulder. They’ve exchanged their glasses for their ears, but they hadn’t brought up the scare earlier. And they’re currently so engrossed in the movie Moon wonders if he registers as a person at all and not a slightly awkward upright cushion.
They’ve already powered through Home Alone and a bowl of popcorn. Why they’d picked Halloween of all things to watch after a Christmas movie (and why a Christmas movie when it’s past the new year) is beyond him. Ellis seems unaffected by most of it, save for some commentary about Myers stealing the headstone and questioning his choice in fashion accessories. “Honestly, the masks you and Sun have for your acts would be so much scarier than whatever he’s got going on.” Moon tries not to let his mind wander too far with that compliment.
It’s not until Myers kills a dog—an offscreen squeal of pain—that Ellis flinches and and pushes further into Moon’s side, pulling his arm over their shoulder. Seeking comfort. Moon lets them. He isn’t sure how to stop it, isn’t sure he wants to, and that isn’t a line of questioning he wants to entertain. Ellis remains in place even as the scene changes and Myers is on the prowl again, and Moon lets his mind follow the slasher. The pickings in town were getting awfully slim. It might be time to travel. Madiline had been pulling sections of the county newspaper. He’s pretty sure she doesn’t know exactly what they do, but the gifts can be helpful. So long as she’s not too nosy about it.
He’d like to use the hammer again. The knife is fun, a tool for finesse and detail, and the axe gets the job done quickly, but the hammer isn’t for killing. It’d have to be swung to just the right spot to kill. No, its use is pain. Breaking fingers and kneecaps. A large enough cudgel could take out a man’s legs with ease. Knock them down, make them hurt and when he’s ready, he can sit on their chest and wrap his hands around their throat, feel them struggle. Choking doesn’t usually kill them, especially if Sun’s the one doing it. He doesn’t have the patience for it. But Moon likes the way their faces change, from defiant to pleading to hopeless to… nothing. And then after, the clean up, that’s when they make sure they’re dead. Don’t need anyone to come back and snitch.
But it’s the pain, the choking, the feeling of life quite literally at his fingertips that’s the focus now. His fingers itch to hold something, and he squeezes them instinctively.
“Moon?”
Ellis’s voice is distant, choked up, and their warmth is missing from his side. All that heat has narrowed down against the palm of the hand that’d been draped over his shoulders. He can feel a pulse beating rabbit fast under his fingers, and he knows if he looks, he’ll have Ellis by the neck. They try for his name again, and their hands pull at his. He’s pressing right against their carotid artery, can just make out the line of his arm against the black of their shirt despite the dim light. If Moon looked up, he knows they’d be staring at him. What would he see? Fear? Betrayal? He squeezes tighter and listen to them wheeze, to the blood rushing in his own head.
Moon doesn’t expect the claws in his lap, dangerously close to his groin, or the sudden hissing maelstrom that is Eos. He tries to push her away and she bites his hand hard, clinging on when he tries to shake her free. He has to let go to scruff the cat and prise himself free, tossing her into the television, to just get her away. There’s a yowl of anger and surprise and sudden weight as Ellis reacts, tackling him off the bed. He can just make out their face, terrified and pale over the bright red of their throat. Moon shoves at them, but his hands hit wood. He must’ve blacked out, just for a second, when he hit the ground cause they’ve got that damned bat out from under the table and are using it to keep him pinned.
There’s no words, just a silent push and pull as Moon tries to free himself. He’s strong from his clownery and taking care of the arcade in addition to his and Sun’s auxiliary interests, but Ellis has the advantage and they’re strong too. It’s a waning strength, however, and Moon is able to shove off the floor with his shoulders and force Ellis back. They fall against his legs, but he focuses on wrenching the bat free, shoving it aside as he pins them by the shoulder instead. He leans forward, free hand tucking just under their chin.
“Now what was all that about duckie?” he asks, and the fear in their bloodshot eyes is delicious. He can just slip his hand down an inch and start it over again, and his hand does move but—
There’s warmth on his mouth and he can taste menthol and tobacco and iron. Moon freezes, unable to move, unable to process as chapped dry lips mash clumsily into his. Even when Ellis pulls back, he can’t tighten his grip to keep them in place.
There’s still fear, but it’s no longer arousing. He can’t hear over the sound of blood rushing in his ears, and there’s this buzzing numbness spreading alongside the familiar, embarrassing heat down the back of his neck.
There’s a solid thwack against the side of his head, a burst of bright pain that shatters any coherent thought. He reels back and away, grabbing at his beanie where Ellis had struck him with, yes, the bat. He’d not shoved it far enough away in the tight space. “Ow,” he finally manages, still tasting blood. He’s bitten through the inside of his cheek.
The new silence is broken only by Ellis’s broken breathing and the sound of static from the TV. Moon tries to spot Eos on the bed or under the table, but he can’t look away from the bruising beginning to show even in the dark.
“Are you okay?”
“Get out.” Ellis moves first, bat clenched tight in both hands. When Moons stands, their heels hit the bed, and they point the bat at him.
“Nova…”
“Oh, so I’m Nova again?” Their voice is hoarse, laugh painful. They gesture towards the door with the bat. It’s shaking, backlit by the now broken TV. “Just go.”
Moon steps back, shoving his hand deep into his pockets. He moves slowly, trying again to find Eos. The rattle in Ellis’s breathing pushes him towards the stairwell, but he never totally turns around, so he can see when they move to follow him. He struggles with the door, pausing before he steps out into the dark.
“Why did you kiss me?”
“Moon.” Their voice cracks. “Please.”
“Okay.” He continues to hesitate, finding himself staring, knowing. His hands ache. “Ice on your neck.” He waits.
“Yeah.” They’re waiting too. “Get home safe.”
Moon nods and steps off. The bus door slams shut behind him with a puff of air, and he’s unsurprised when the lock immediately clicks over. He doesn’t turn back, doesn’t move away, staring off at the brickwork of the arcade. No music starts up behind him, and when he finally does turn, he can make out a shadow in the window nearest the door. As he watches, it disappears, and he tracks Ellis towards the back of the bus.
They’ll be okay. His head hurts. He needs to call Sun. He reenters the arcade with shaking hands.

Skeletons in the Circus

You would think a circus with bears, elephants, dancing clowns, and slim, beautiful women on tight ropes would be out of style, but this isn't true regarding Saint Mary's Carnival. The Evan family has been in business for decades always refining their craft and innovating with the times. Family fortune mixed with their business mindsets had them innovating their circus to build arcades in the late 70s. In the 2000s they watched as arcades slowly went out of style so to fix this they added charging stations and had local- even a handful of large-scale artists perform at their "circus"- If you could even call it one. The current generation of owners is Chris and Selina Evan with their two children.
The attractive clown duo is front and center of their promotions. The girls come to swoon over the bad boy clown who kills with his large sense of humor and soothing deep raspy voice that sometimes scares the kids. He’ll perform as more of a ring leader, announcing the performers and telling a joke or two on the microphone that appealed to the kids and parents while his sister; Carmen. She was one of the clowns who organized routines. She dances and entertains but the adults know her as a motherly persona after performances.
But every family has skeletons in their closet; especially the Evan’s.

You got a friend in me
Note: This is a year before the events of the Fallout: TV Series, so everything here is just a prequal to the series.
Given the information Kelsey got during her time and second trip in New Vegas, the Boneyard was the true home of the Followers of the Apocalypse. Well, to be more specific, the Library. If there was one thing she could learn even more about the Pre-War, it was in the Followers' HQ.
Maybe she could be better equipped as a doctor as well.
The old photos she's seen from the interior of the fort were NOTHING compared to the Library that it was now. The building was practically in a much better state than it was years ago and it was just buzzing with people entering and leaving the building.
"Whoa..."
She's definitely going to tell Arcade when she makes her trip back to New Vegas.
"Well, it's nice to meet more Followers around here!"
A cheery voice had turned her attention at the front entrance. This woman who called her out must have seen the small Followers of the Apocalypse logo on the collar of her white leather jacket.
"Although, I've never meet a ghoul being apart of the Followers." She clapped once. "But it's a first time for everything!"
This woman held out her hand. "Welcome to the Library!"
Kelsey nodded at her. "Thank you." She shook the woman's hand, feeling the firm grip in her hands. "It's great to be here. I was looking to see who was in charge of Library."
"You're looking at her!" With a bright smile, she pointed at herself. "My name is Asher Bright. I'm also the leader of the Followers of the Apocalypse in the Boneyard branch."
"Oh!" Kelsey smiled. "I'm Kelsey and I'm from the Old Mormon Fort branch."
"That explains why I've never seen you in the Library. It's nice to meet you! Follow me, I want to ask you questions about New Vegas."
She did just that. She followed Asher into the Library, past a few people along the way and went down a set of stairs. It took a bit to get downstairs, but both of them arrived to the basement. The rooms in the basement were the base of operations for the Followers of the Apocalypse for years and still to this day.
The atmosphere was different than it was at the Library. It looked like an old school cafe with a few scented candles in some areas. There were old pictures on the wall, presumably of the various Followers over the years. The were several bookshelves in one large space, filled with pre-war history books. It was rather cosey compared to the busy atmosphere at the Library.
Aster lead Kelsey to table, where both of them sat on the opposite sides of the table in front of each other.
"So...before we get into the specifics, is Julie doing alright? We been trying to come into contact with them for years now, but our radio communications are busted and we haven't been able to find one that works."
That was right on the money on what Julie said about trying to get back in communications with the Boneyard branch. She did had some fears about the Boneyard branch being completely wiped out or otherwise dead, but at least she can put those fears to rest.
"Can I see the radio? Maybe I can try to fix it."
Quest Started: You got a friend in me
□ Fix the Followers Communications Radio.
And just like that, her face lit up. "Seriously? I'll pay you 1000 caps if you can a least get it in working order until we find a new one."
Aster pointed to where the radio was, which was in her room quarters. When she saw the radio communications on a small table, she grabbed a chair to sit and take a good look on the radio. She was already provided with basic tools thanks to Aster. She opened the back side and began inspecting it.
[It appears that the radio appears to have a broken parts and several wires have been pulled from the radio. The microphone and the commutation station seem to be fine. This would explain why Aster couldn't properly communicate with Julie since this end didn't seem to work. This needs the proper care an attention it needs to be in working order. Repair of 50 or greater.]
Aster carefully watched Kelsey as she repaired the radio with ease. At times, she'll ask for spare parts for the radio and other tools, but other than that, she fixed the radio after an hour later.
To make sure it worked, Aster turned the radio on. A click sound was heard and she grabbed the microphone. "Julie? Can you hear me?"
"Aster!" Not a moment too soon, Julie's voice rang within the radio. "Finally, we can communicate again!"
"It works!" Kelsey breathed a sigh of relief and leaned back on her chair.
Aster, with a smile on her own, replied to Julie, "Sorry about that. Our radio wasn't working for a while. That is until this tech wizard over here fixed our radio."
■ Fix the Followers Communications Radio.
She put the radio near Kelsey's head and she responded with, "Hey, Julie."
"Kelsey! I assume you were the on that fixed the radio?"
"Yeah." As she talked to Julie through the radio, Aster pulled in another microphone through the communication station and pulled up a chair to join the three.
"So, Julie before I forget. Now that I have you here and Kelsey with me, I wanted to ask both of you about New Vegas. Do you have time right now?"
"Plenty." No matter how busy she got, she always made time to talk to Aster.
□ Discuss the Battle of Hoover Dam and the aftermath with Julie and Aster.
"So I want to know...is it true that Mr. House took control of New Vegas? Last time I heard, one of my Followers told me they saw his robots roaming around after the Battle of Hoover Dam."
Both Julie and Kelsey replied with a no at the same time.
"Well, his robots are there. Mr. House isn't. He's dead." Julie responded.
"Oh, really? Who killed him?"
Kelsey tapped the table with her index finger, recalling the time she and Arcade went to the Strip with Virgo. "The Courier. Their name was June, I believe. Arcade and I watched them shot him in the head after we got through his robot army."
There was much more confusion now in Aster's features. "So if House is dead, then who's in charge of the Strip?"
"A securitron named Yes Man. One of my Followers, Emily Ortal, helped a guy named Benny program him to do anything someone says. Be helpful, that sort of behaver. June had Yes Man's help and the securitron's to fight alongside the NCR and..."
Julie paused, as if she was looking right at Kelsey to continue, knowing full well what other faction she was going to mention.
"...there were Enclave remnants there too. June and Arcade managed to track them all down and they helped out with the fight. Afterwards, the Enclave remnants disappeared without a trace."
"The Enclave a touchy subject these days?" Aster asked, looking at Kelsey. She noticed that she had this hurt look in her eyes.
"For both Kelsey and Arcade. After the Battle of Hoover Dam, Arcade told me and Kelsey about his ties with the Enclave. How his dad served with them until his death. I remember Kelsey telling me when she joined us, her family was gunned down by Enclave soldiers because her dad was apart of the Brotherhood of Steel back at Washington D.C."
Aster was about to comment on that, but Kelsey had interrupted her.
"Anyhow," Kelsey lightly tossed a broken pencil against a wall, barely making a scratch. Only a touch of graphite is seen on the wall. She spoke with, "Yes Man with June and the NCR agreed to mutual alliance as long as various areas remained independent, but still have the continued support throughout the New Vegas area as long as they keep their various outposts and bases. They already have a couple of NCR territories at New Vegas anyway. They didn't need any more control than they already have."
Aster thought a lot of what the three discussed. A lot has changed since the Boneyard lost communication to the Old Mormon Fort. It seemed that New Vegas has reached a mutual peace, but for how long that lasted she wasn't so sure.
"And the Brotherhood of Steel?"
Julie couldn't answer that because she has no idea where they are right now.
"I have to be honest with you, Aster. I have no idea where they are. If June was here they'll probably answer for you." Kelsey answered. "I had a friend who used to be in the Brotherhood and scouts for them, but I haven't heard from them since. She hasn't told me their base is either."
Well, that was rather a little bit troubling. The Brotherhood were known to hoard technology and the fact that they were no where to be found in New Vegas is strange. Especially when New Vegas and the Boneyard are close to each other, you would think that the Brotherhood from California branch would try and help them out.
"Well, I don't want to take up more of your guy's time." Aster patted Kelsey on her shoulder. "Thank you guys for bringing me up to speed."
■ Discuss the Battle of Hoover Dam and the aftermath with Julie and Aster.
Quest Completed: You got a friend in me
"It's not a problem, Aster. If you have any more questions let me know. It was nice talking to you again, Kelsey."
"Likewise. If you see Arcade, tell him I said hi."
There was a small tap on her shoulder and when she looked up, it was Arcade Gannon himself. He casually waved at her with a smile. "Hello, Kelsey."
"Arcade!" Quickly, she stood up from the chair and gave him a big hug.
"I'll see you later, Julie."
"Later, Aster."
With that, Aster turned off the radio and returned to the reunited Followers from Old Mormon Fort.
Arcade responded with a hug of his own, like a sibling would hug their other sibling after not seeing them for a while.
After the two pulled away, Kelsey responded with, "What in the world are you doing here? I thought you were at the Old Mormon Fort."
"Six months after you left to Charlton, Massachusetts, a best friend of my mother's managed to track me down. She wanted a doctor that knew my mother and very good at medicine. She told me that the only time she saw me is when I was a baby. When my dad was alive. She told me stories when they were younger, traveling together before she meet my father."
Arcade paused, bit his lip, and looked down for a moment, getting a bit emotional. "She said I looked a lot like my mother."
Aster rubbed his back in an attempt to comfort him.
"So," He looked right back up to Kelsey. "I said yes and became her family doctor for her. I've been here at the Boneyard ever since."
"That's awesome, Arcade." Kelsey playfully and lightly punched his arm. "At least I get to see you more often. I missed your silly mug."
Arcade grinned. "Your turn. What are you doing here at good old Los Angeles?"
"I just got here actually!" She laughed. "I was actually looking for medical books to brush up on since I want to pick up my skills as a doctor."
"Oh, you can find plenty on the first and second shelves." Aster pointed at the shelves she's mentioned, the book shelves she saw previously.
"Thanks." And before she would join Arcade to the books, she turned to Aster clapped her hands together once. "Thank you for the warm welcome!"
"You're very welcome! If you want a room, let me know!"
She nodded and returned to the bookshelves with Arcade, chatting with him along the way.
And when she did ask for her room that same day, 1000 caps was set in a plastic bag on her room.
#this is basically confirming my canon endings for new vegas in detail since i never got to do that#fallout rebellion#i worked hard on this fic haha#i tried not to make this confusing as possible

Main FNAF AUs :
• Dirty Paws, Little Talks : Fazbear has always been know to cut corners for a little extra money, but most don’t know how far they’ve actually gone. Y/N is an escapee of one of the darker parts of the Fazbear chain, a part made specifically to sell tiny humanoid creatures thought previously to only exist in books and media. Y/N must now learn to survive the pizzaplex and all the dangers it brings without being caught. [DCA x Y/N / queerplatonic Monty & Y/N, M for graphic violence and mature themes]
• Stars Hide Under the Big Top : A Fazbear technician specifically hired to fix the arcade machines is one day tasked to fix the Balloon World arcade machine hidden in the Daycare Attendant’s room. Turns out, there’s a little more to that particular machine than they’ve been trained for. When trying to open it up, the machine springs to life and sucks them into the screen. They wake up in a forest, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, only to stumble across a big top circus tent full of oddly familiar faces and a few new ones. The Glamrocks and a few new friends have become a part of a circus, run by a ringmaster reminiscent of the Daycare Attendant and Sun & Moon themselves. Apparently, arcade machines can be portals to alternate dimensions??? [DCA x Y/N, M for graphic violence and mature themes]
• We Balance the Scales : Lamia are an extinct race of creatures thought to have been killed along with the dinosaurs, only known to once exist through fossil evidence. At least, that’s what most of the world thinks. Y/N is a herpetologist called to work at a government level facility to help with the study and rehabilitation of two specimens of a “new” species. What they arrive to find, while seemingly a dream, is nothing short of heartache. They get to work with two living lamia, but is it really worth the discovery if they’ve both been through hell? [DCA x Y/N, M for graphic violence and mature themes]
• The Liminal Daycare : Y/N no-clips through reality into a daycare filled with 3 funky animatronics, a shadow rabbit, a walking corpse, and a ghost child. With seemingly no way out (the doors out only open to a black void), Y/N decided to try and make light of the situation and get comfy. [No relationships, Teen for heavier topics]
• It’s Strange, the Things I Remember : The Pizzaplex has three extra animatronic. Barbara, the alpaca acting as a teacher in the daycare, Billy, a goat in charge of daytime security, and Eddie, a bat stationed in the West Arcade with DJ Music Man to appeal to the teens at the pizzaplex. While no one can seem to figure out why, something is different about them compared to the other animatronics, but not enough to question it. When a group consisting of three young adults and several teens shows up out of the blue, it seems these new animatronics have more history behind them than just being Fazbear property. [Stranger Things Crossover, Teen for heavier topics]
Lesser Worked On FNAF AUs :
• Fallen, Divine : Everyone is born with an angel and a demon to guide them through life. Normally people aren’t able to see them, but some cases such as near death experiences can allow for people to see their guides. Y/N, after going through a near fatal accident, suddenly is able to see their celestial themed protectors and comes to learn that humans definitely aren’t as alone as they thought in the universe. [DCA x Y/N, Teen for heavier topics]
• Shepherds of Dreams : All dreams and nightmares need cultivation and care before they can be given to their rightful person. There exists a land, unreachable by most living things, where this care happens. Three brothers, Sun, Moon, and Eclipse, have been shepherds of these dreams since as long as they can remember. Alone. Only the occasional lost soul to keep them company, and even then they are alway taken away. Imagine their surprise when a living human somehow starts to pop up in their land whenever they fall asleep. [DCA x Y/N, Teen for heavier topics]
• I Noclipped Out of Reality and All I Got Was Two Monster Boyfriends : Backrooms AU! Y/N falls into the Backrooms one day and has been trapped ever since. Time doesn’t work down here, but it’s felt like years. Battle hardened and fueled by now deep-seated paranoia, Y/N is a formidable wanderer who acts first and asks questions later. It’s only after an extremely odd encounter with a Smiler that they find themselves wanting answers to questions they can’t seem to answer. Especially as to why the Smiler seemed overly content hanging out around a duel colored glowfolk. (Yes, I know glowfolk are no longer canonical to the Backrooms. They happen to fit Sun the best though, and I enjoyed them, so they’re making an appearance in this AU.) [DCA x Y/N, M for graphic violence and mature themes]
• Unnamed FNAF SB x TFP Crossover : A two part series, starting with a Sun & Moon centric story and then following the Glamrocks. Sun and Moon are mini combiners who used to work in sparkling care before the war. They land on Earth a little before canon TFP takes place, and are soon forced to join a war they had tried so hard to steer clear of. Later on, after the attack on Shockwave’s lab, the Bots find out that not all of the predacons had died. A pack of four predacons had been living just off of their radars, and had even managed to kidnap a small boy. Unknown to them, that’s just their adopted kid. All That We Have - Part 1
(( Long time no see, everyone! Turns out I wasn’t joking when I said I was in a writing mood. I’ve gotten many wonderful suggestions from folks on things to write. I’m juggling many of their respective fics as of now, but this spark popped into my head and wouldn’t leave me be! Hope you enjoy! ))
Warning: Some mild action and violence
_______________________________________
Fix-It Felix Jr. stepped lively as he made his way across Game Central Station to meet up with his lady in front of Hero’s Duty.
The workday had finally ended, and characters were starting to emerge from their respective games to mingle. Still, it was just quiet enough for a strange move of the shadows and a faint sound of distress to catch the hero’s attention.
Stopping in his tracks, Felix’s head turned to the dark void of an empty outlet. He could have sworn he heard something.
He glanced back to the entrance of Hero’s Duty before cautiously stepping into the shadowed area. Once the handyman’s eyes adjusted to the low light, he spotted three roguish type figures, one of whom was holding Dig Dug upwards with one hand, and his drill bit in the other.
“Excuse me, gentlemen.” Felix interjected, one of his gloved hands sliding into the pocket of his toolbelt to hover over his personal locator beacon. “Can I help you?”
Three sets of eyes quickly met his, and in their brief distraction, Dig Dug slipped away, quickly retrieving and using his drill to escape.
“Hey!” one of the rogues yelled, diving an arm into the freshly bored hole in the floor. A frustrated growl was tossed Felix’s way when his hand came back up with nothing but dust.
“Hey, boss. Get a load of that!” One of the other men pointed to the fixer’s side. “That’s the big ticket item they wanted!”
Felix pressed the button on his locator, holding his hand defensively outward while the other grasped his golden hammer protectively. All he had to do now was keep a handle on the situation until Tamora came to answer his SOS.
“I don’t want any trouble,” he said.
“Shoulda thought of that before sticking your big nose in our business–,” the leader approached. As he came closer, Felix recognized that he was a Netizen.
What could a being from the internet possibly want from Litwak’s Arcade?
“–But letting us take this off your hands will make up for it,” he continued, reaching for the handyman’s tool belt.
Felix reflexively grabbed the man’s wrist, his heart beginning to race as they stared each other down.
“Sorry,” he explained. “I can’t be parted with it.”
“The hell you can’t,” the netizen growled, raising a knee to kick.
Two steps ahead, Felix blocked the attack, returning the favor to the back of his opponent's leg. With a yelp, the leader lost his footing, making himself vulnerable to a strike at the base of the neck.
The second netizen charged, whirling around to grab the handyman by the collar when his first punch was dodged. Felix curled an arm in front of his face to take the brunt of the netizens' second blow and tweaked their thumb to break away. Staggering backwards, the 8-bit just barely maneuvered out of range from his third attacker, taking advantage of their momentum by connecting his knee to their middle.
Breathing heavily, Felix scanned the room for other oncoming threats before the first netizen cranked his arm backwards and jabbed something into his lower back.
The handyman screamed as his body instantly erupted into a jumbled red cloud of code, only being able to form back into his regular self when the device against his back was removed.
His pixels coming back together, Felix crumpled to the floor in a cold sweat. He gasped for air, feeling like his body had just been set on fire.
“Say hello to the ‘Scrambler–” the netizen taunted, waving the small device in front of him. “–And goodbye to this.” he continued, kicking the 8-bit onto his back and taking his golden hammer.
“No,” Felix grasped at the man’s ankle as he walked away.
Rolling his eyes, the netizen shoved the hammer in his pocket before doling out another kick.
“Do yourself a favor and lie still.”
A hover device rocketed past as Tamora Jean Calhoun grabbed the unsuspecting netizen, holding him like a ragdoll a few stories above the ground from her cruiser.
In a flash of blue light, Ralph roared as he ran onto the scene, grabbing the other two of Felix’s assailants, knocking them together and pinning them to the ground with his enormous fists.
“Felix!” Vanellope glitched into the handyman’s view, grabbing his shoulders.
“Wait–” the handyman’s plea went unheard, his body briefly going numb as the girl glitched them both a little ways from the action. He groaned as all of the pain came back at once.
“S-sorry,” she stammered.
“Alright, what in the heck is going on here?” a Minnesotan accent boomed like thunder after the Surge Protector arrived on scene in a spark of electricity.
“We caught these Wi-Fi lowlifes daring to lay a hand on my husband,” Sergeant Calhoun lowered her cruiser, tossing the lead netizen to the ground like a discarded chew toy. On impact, Felix’s hammer flew out of the offender’s pocket, clattering to the floor.
A stunned silence filled the air.
Vanellope boomeranged herself, glitching forward to grab the golden object, then back to the handyman it belonged to. Felix accepted it from her with an appreciative word, holding it to his chest tightly.
“Why did you have that?” Tamora’s voice dripped with venom.
“Look, w-we we’re just looking to make some easy cash,” the netizen gulped. “Junior over there was the one who had to go and make things difficult.”
Felix shook his head in disbelief, and his eye caught something glowing, lying on the ground in the distance.
“Dig Dug said you fellas were aiming to take his drill when he reported Felix might be in trouble,” Surge took out his clipboard, and lazily took a note down before stepping up to all three of the netizens, placing a small device on each of their wrists. “Theft isn’t taken lightly here at Litwak’s, prepare yourselves for questioning.”
Surge pressed a button on his wristwatch and the three men were zapped away in an instant.
“I’ll let you lot recuperate while I process those three,” Surge deadpanned as he clicked his pen and stuffed it back into his shirt pocket. “Come to me when you’re ready to file a report.”
As soon as Surge was gone, Ralph, Vanellope and Calhoun flocked to Felix as he sat up against the wall, asking the fixer if he was ok.
“Did you heal yourself?” Tamora added, worried at just how ragged he looked.
“Yeah, one of them got me with something mean, though.” His hammer had taken care of all the superficial wounds he’d sustained during the tussle. But whatever that ‘scrambling’ thing was, it meant business.
The fixer’s attention turned once more to the glowing piece of something off in the distance.
“Vannie, could you grab that for me?” he pointed, and the girl obliged. The two of them looked at it when she brought it back over.
Vanellope gasped, her eyes going wide.
“What is it, kid?” Ralph leaned forward when she turned it around.
In her hands was a green flier, an image of Fix-It Felix’s hammer front and center. And the website’s name where this ad came from was displayed below in big, bold letters. The familiarity of it knocked the wrecker off guard.

IM GOING CRAZY
Way too crazy that my brain is going static
I was grieving from when security brief came out and I'm so sorry to those who follow me I have made nothing at all sorryy
Anyways, here is a fat lore dump that I made up concerning Bonnie and Foxy and where they are because I want them to be at least somewhere:
So Bonnie is put away due to damages and is replaced by Monty. He is fixed and was planned to go back but Monty was gaining more attention than Bon so Bonnie is just left in storage with no plan of ever getting him out. ( They decided not to lead the bowling because charging him would just take up more power and they didn't wanna pay for him) They moved him to a separate storage facility where old parts and unused animatronic lay unused. That is until the Fazbear company decides to expand their company and make smaller complexes which they called the the Fazbear Friends that scattered the state. One of those complexes is where Bonnie is relocated along with another classic member, Foxy, and three more named Otto the Otter and Disaster twins: Mimi and Maxie the tigers.
They were located to a decently sized bowling alley where they only had a stage and a mini arcade. Bonnie was the lead guitarist and singer, Otto was bass, Foxy was drums and Mimi and Maxie were keyboard but also played a bunch of other instruments if needed. Their introduction was a success and out of all the smaller locations; theirs became popular due to the use of animatronics instead of performers or mascots and having 2 of the original characters: Bonnie and Foxy.
Because of their popularity, the bowling alley grew bigger, leading it to be renovated to at least one third of the mega complex. They had their own stations now, Bonnie becoming the bowling mascot like he was in the Megaplex, also becoming part of the growing arcade and was the one to introduce guests.
Foxy and Otto became a duo, their station was called Dark Oceans and they were placed on a broken ship that lay in the middle of a mini water park. There, Otto and Foxy would do skits, sing songs (most probably some edgy stuff since their outfits turned to more punk and metal themes) or join the kids in the pool to teach them to swim since both were waterproof. Otto is the one to teach them tho, since his model and programming was designed specifically swimming. Foxy can too but his original design isn't that good for swimming. He's a lifeguard tho.
Mimi and Maxie get their own place called the mini Jungle, a play area that was mostly on the roof and you had to climb most of the time. Their place expanded over most of the bowling ally though. The complex plan was to use these tubes to explore the complex so that kids could have fun viewing areas. They go almost everywhere, into the kitchen, backstage, and even into pirate splash where the mini water park is stationed. Not all the tubes are accessed through the Jungle area though, some entrances being outside the area, highlighted with the faces of Mimi and Maxie.
They perform on the stage together from time to time.
Eventually more animatronics come in, Moley, Rolly, and Poley the penguins that work with bonnie for bowling (he uses them as Bowling balls) or Foxy as extra actors. They are also mini security. There are Kiwi the kiwi, Tuna the monkey, and Polly parrot that live and stay in the jungle area.
Then there is tinker the lightbulb Hunny the lop and hooty the owl that live in the library, the quietest place in the whole complex. The walls make sure you hear nothing of the rest of the place and is somewhere you can go for injuries or just to drain out when the action becomes too much. Tinker and Hooty help with the books, Tinker being a walking lightbulb with a suit that reads aloud to kids and Hooty is a monitor for the system, with full 360 view. Hunny is the nurse who speaks very quietly. You can never hear when Tinker or Hunny are walking so be aware lol. No performing animatronics are allowed inside the library and vice versa.
All the animatronics are aware that they work under the fazbear company and that the mascot, freddy is a bear but thats it. Sadly, Bonnie's memories had been wiped due to the damage he took and because of that, his drive had been completely wiped. Now, he only recognizes freddy as the mascot of where they work at. Foxy was supposed to be part of the megaplex gang but his concept was too stuck to him and didnt fit the standard so they had scrapped him. He was already built tho but was set to stay in storage. Because of the opening of miniplexes and didn't need to stay within the theme that much, he was free to stay as foxy the pirate along with some new adjustments. Bonnie and Foxy stay pretty much the same as to whatever the fandom gave them before. Same characters, just different memory and outfits. Otto is the biggest of the animatronics and he mostly talks in this australian accent but it also sounds like hes really high. Hes a chill animatronic and does a lot as Foxy's first mate, teaching kids how to swim, entertaining them and what not. Hes a quick swimmer and can get to any area of the mini water Park in a matter of seconds if there is any water leading there.. His huge size is so that he can carry many children at a time.. Mimi and Maxie act as surveillance for the kids but cause more trouble than good. They are sneaky as hell and like to spook the adults with the help of the kids. From an adults perspective thay are devils but to kids they are super nice and funny. Tinker is a weird one and has a soothing voice, he has a screen on his stomach where he reads the books from and his tie is like one of those pull down light switches. Hunny is a soft spoken Lop bunny who very silent, shes reserved and doesn't speak unless she feels like it. Her ears are made of soft and fluffy yet stretchy and durable material that is used to calm kids down if they are crying. They can warm up and cool down and her soft voice music to the ears. Hooty has no personality and just stands in as more of a security system with a 360 turning head. They're quick to catch things like injuries, emotions, and can anything on a person physically. They have some insanse hearing but they cant detect Tinker or Hunny because they are so quiet. Kiwi, Tuna, and Polly more or less just act like regular kids and Moley, Rolly, and Poley only squack to speak role around. They act like those cute penguins you see at aquariums that do tricks.
The bowling alley has had no incidents and is overall just a regular complex.
Here are some drawings:
Ok I'm done lol

Good Old-fashioned Loverboy
three teens who figured it out. . .sorta. . .yeah definitely figured it out
words: 1412
yamaguchi x reader x tsukishima
No exams, no homework and no practice which was honestly a miracle for the team. Just a regular Friday night for the Karasuno boys and their managers. The 3rd years are planning to go to the cinema, the 2nd years are working together to find an arcade that Tanaka and Noya haven’t been banned from, and two groups of 1st years are doing something different. Yachi, Hinata, and Kageyama were heading to the park for two things; taking photos and volleyball. While Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, and you were heading to town for karaoke.
“This would’ve been much easier if we had picked a place beforehand.” you groaned out to the boys on either side of them. The trio just got off the train and realized none of them had direction to the Karaoke Plaza.
“I can proudly say that it’s not on me this time. Tsukki was in charge of directions for this one. . .” Yamaguchi mumbled out not wanting to take the blame for the lack of directions.
“Shut up, Yamaguchi.” Tsukishima grumbled out, ears lightly tinted pink. It sorta drifted from his mind during the train ride especially with you and Yamaguchi leaning against him, debating on what songs to sing when they got there.
Y/N could only laugh at Tsukishima’s unfortunate call out by Yamaguchi. To save Tsukishima from further embarrassment, they just searched “Karaoke Plaza” and found one about a 10 minute walk from the train station.
After looping around twice around the block, they finally get to the plaza and Y/N payed for the room while Yamaguchi gathered snacks, drinks for them and Tsukishima paid for those because he messed up on the directions.
“A good Karaoke Friday with my boys!” you exclaimed excitedly, walking into the room holding the basket of treats that Tsukishima had you carry.
“Tch. . . it’s not that exciting, nerd” the tall blonde muttered out
“Tsukki, you’re in class 1-4 with us so you’re also a ‘nerd’ along with us” the green headed boy shot back as if it was second nature.
You set down the basket on the middle table near the book and controls while the two others got comfortable and fixed. Once getting their bags and jackets off, Yamaguchi looked for the small tambourines and Tsukishima decided to get the TV going.
Looking through the book, Y/N found the song they were looking for, ‘Good Old-Fashioned Loverboy’ by Queen, it’s been a song on constant repeat for the manager especially when down in the dumps about their crushes. Punching in the American song code into the controller it starts at the song’s second chorus.
Say the word, your wish is my command~
You’ve known these two boys for four years now and it’s been quite the ride for you. You met them during junior high orientation week and you’re happy you did meet this pair. Complete opposites to one another but fit together as if they were final puzzle pieces.
Tsukishima Kei was a tough person to get talking to at first but slowly his tough facade chipped away. The tall blonde boy who is often seen with a frown or a condescending smirk on his face was smiling in the present of someone other than his closest friend.
Yamaguchi Tadashi was shy at first meet and isn’t the biggest people person but had no problem when snickering at others along with tsukishima. For some reason he had no troubles talking to you, he was the first to greet and the first to exchange numbers.
Two generally closed off kids meet another and open up. Sure they had their rough moments but that’s what made them them. You made it easier though and so you became the last actual piece of puzzle that formed the trio.
Two years in, you realized that you started to develop feelings that weren’t just platonic towards the boys. It was confusing and a nightmare figuring it out. You always tried to shove it deep down but it got hard after sometime.
Even more when you notice Tsukishima taking a liking towards Yamaguchi and seeing Yamaguchi giving the same. But you never notice how they looked at you when you looked away. Three friends who didn’t know what to do or say.
C’mon and Get It~
You didn’t know what came over yourself when you noticed Tsukishima glancing at Yamaguchi with a look of affection in his eye.
“Maybe it‘s time to let go” You thought with a sigh before pushing Yams towards Tsukki
Ooh, love~
Yamaguchi was too into his thoughts to hear the sudden sigh from beside him before being pushed towards his best friend, Tsukishima Kei.
His eyes widened from the fast change. Cheeks growing warm from the sudden burst of his personal bubble and the closeness. Looking at each other, it was as if the childhood friends were thinking on the same line.
“Maybe it’s time we finally tell them”
This wasn’t going to be some impulsive decision on their half or at least that’s what they’re telling themselves. Though it’s not like the two didn’t talk about this before with each other. The boys figured out at the end of junior high that they not only like each other but you as well.
So lost in the song you didn’t see the look the friends gave one another. A look that was soft but hesitant yet full of hope and affection.
Feeling a sudden tug at your hoodie, you're pulled between the middle block and pinch server. At the same time the two sing with genuine voices.
ooh, loverboy~
What’re you doin’ tonight, hey, boy?~
Standing there frozen from the line, heat moved to your cheeks and a silly smile slowly appeared on your face.
Write my letter~
Feel much better~
And use my fancy patter on the telephone~
The music is still playing on in the background and hearts racing for the sudden silence between the trio. Tadashi and Kei took a shot in the dark doing this, not really sure if you even like them back but they didn't care. The worst that could happen is you not feeling the same towards the two.
“You know it isn’t funny to mess with me like that, you guys.” you muttered out though your voice held no malice just a tinge of confusion and caution.
“We aren’t joking, idiot.”
“Hey!”
“Just hear us out, please?”
The room didn’t hold an awkward feeling if anything it was calm but loud at the same time.
“We realized that both of us hold feeling for you, y/n” Tadashi sounded so nervous getting his sentence out, “We’re honestly taking ou–” he gets cut off by the tall blonde
“What Tadashi is trying to say is that we both like you and if you don’t feel the same that’s okay, we could just ignore what just happened and move on.” he sounded so uninterested but the speed he spoke at gave away what his tone did not. He was nervous.
“I–” you began to speak but was cut off by Tadashi
“Like Tsukki said, if you don’t feel the same that’s okay.”
“Not like it would be the end of the world–” Kei gets a nudge in the side, tch, “Watch it, Yamaguchi.”
“Sorry, Tsukki.”
“Can I speak now?” you asked softly and gave a smile. The two players give you a nod. You shuffle a bit before clearing your throat.
“Before I was interrupted,” you eyed Tadashi playful, “I was going to say that I like you both as well.” you kept your gaze a bit low, too nervous to look them in the eyes. Taking in a deep slow breath, you gathered enough confidence to look towards Kei, “I like how you take the time out of your day to check on me when you feel like something is wrong,” grabbing his hand before turning towards Tadashi and taking his as well before continuing
“And I like how you let me call at the terrible hour of 3 in the morning just because I couldn’t sleep or I really wanted to talk about something you had no knowledge prior to.”
“So if you need to hear it one more time, I like both of you, Tsukishima Kei and Yamaguchi Tadashi.”
One Month Later
“Hey Stingyshima, Yamaguchi, why is there a picture of the two of you and Y/N cuddling in the group chat?”
The pinch server could only laugh at his blonde partner because he was the one sent it by mistake.
“Shut up, Yamaguchi.”
“Sorry, Tsukki”

Hello, Are You There? || Part 2
Minako tries the number neighbor thing. Thinking it was an inactive number, she decides to vent and express her frustrations, turning it into a sort of mini diary. What she didn’t expect was somebody was actually on the other line and decided to send a message back.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Word Count: 4.3k+
Pairing: Akihiko Sanada x Minako Arisato
Note: this chapter includes a long text message thread between headphones and pancakes ehe and some slight angst jfjfdnjf im sorry the next one is gonna be fluffy i promise ; u ; ALSO i accidentally posted this w/o the proper editing so if u saw this b4 im sorry fhrkjfrbf
“Arisato, your grades aren’t so impressive these past few weeks, may I know why?” Miss Toriumi, the teacher in-charge of Minato’s class, asks with concern evident in her voice. This was so unlike him, he always manages to snag the highest scores and is an excellent student. Minato just shrugs nonchalantly. Miss Toriumi sighs, probably realizing Minato probably won’t open up any time soon.
“Arisato, I know you don’t feel comfortable opening up to me. But I hope you are at least opening up to someone. Perhaps your sister?” Miss Toriumi continues. Minato shrugged once again. Before Miss Toriumi could continue once more, a fellow student entered the room.
“Miss Toriumi, you are needed at the Student Council room.” Miss Toriumi gave a quick nod to the other student, and turns to Minato. “Well, I am needed elsewhere. I will take my leave, but please keep in mind that you can talk to me if you need guidance.”
Minato walked out of the Faculty Room and headed for the school gates.
These past few days, Minato has felt… lost.
He overheard his classmates talking about which career paths they will be pursuing, and he felt… left behind. His classmates have already started planning their future and they seemed so… certain.
Minato hasn’t felt the feeling of certainty ever since their parents went abroad without them. They said it's for work, but right now, he really isn't sure if it really is for work. Before they left, he heard them saying that ‘the children are getting bothersome to deal with’. Ever since then, the feeling of stability, the feeling of being sure about something has become a foreign concept to him. Do his parents still love them? Are they a burden? If he was wrong for thinking that his own parents most certainly love and support them, then what about the others? Who's to say he isn't wrong with everything else? Minato envies his classmates, because even though they are the same age as he is, somehow they have already gotten everything figured out for themselves.
‘Why couldn’t he be more like that?’ He could hear the voice in his head say.
This train of thought is the only thing occupying his mind for the past few days, and it has greatly affected his life. His academic grades, his club performance, and even his relationships with both his friends and his very own sister.
Ever since the seed of doubt in his mind was planted, the voice in his head started getting louder and braver.
‘What do you think you’re doing?’
‘Are you sure that’s the right choice?’
‘You probably won’t go far in life.’
‘You’re a failure. That’s why they left.’
He tried everything he can to drown out the voice in his head. He tried listening to music, hanging out with his friends, playing at the arcade, anything. Anything to make it go away or so that he can no longer hear it.
But of course, it is not that easy.
He wanted to talk to his sister, he really did. But he didn’t know how to. It was something he had in common with his sister. Despite being surrounded by many friends, opening up still remains difficult for the both of them. And what makes it even harder is that, he doesn’t know how to explain this feeling of his. Deep down, he is thinking that, perhaps, this was just something he made up himself and that it is not real. So he tried driving his attention somewhere else.
He decided to go somewhere quiet, somewhere hidden.
He let his feet lead him, with his loud music blasting from his headphones.
This mindless walking led him to the train station’s back alley.
It was deserted. Perfect.
He sat down and closed his eyes. Eventually his phone started vibrating. Picking it up, he received a message from Minako.
Sis: hey im in a study grp w fuuka and yukari
Sis: ill be late so eat b4 u go home
Minato was about to send a reply to his sister, when three older men approached him.
“Hey, little man. What are ya doing here?” One of them, whom Minato assumed was their leader, asked him. They didn’t seem too happy with seeing an unfamiliar boy at their hangout spot.
“Nothing.” Minato replied simply, shoving his phone in to his pocket and fixing his headphones into position. The men, however, were irritated by this.
“Ye’r in our spot.” The leader, who apparently has a nose piercing, took a step closer. They tried to look intimidating, but it did not faze Minato one bit.
“And?”
“Leave.”
“No.”
The guy was starting to get angry, and started digging around in his pocket. “Ye’r from Gekkoukan High, aren’t ya? Damn, one of yous are always trying to waltz around here like some hotshot, but guess what? Ye’r not.”
“Ok.” Minato said absentmindedly. And finally, the man reveals what he was hiding in his pocket. A knife. Minato stood up quickly. “I’ll leave.”
“Haha, ye’r too late. I am angry now.” The man swings his knife, and Minato was barely even able to dodge it. It grazed slightly against his cheek, forming a small scar.
“Hey, stop that!” A tall man wearing a beanie and maroon peacoat quickly came to his rescue. He was able to restrain the man and retrieve the knife from him. Mr. Nose Piercing tried flailing around, but the tall man was much stronger than he is.
“Hey, let him go!” The two other guys who entered with Mr. Nose Piercing, approached the tall male restraining their friend. But before they could attack, another male, a silver-haired gentleman wearing a red vest came, and was able to knock down one guy.
The one left standing kneeled down, pleading for mercy. “Please! I didn’t do anything! It was all him!” He then pointed at Mr. Nose Piercing. The tall, beanie-wearing man scoffed, “Wow, selling your friend out just to be able to escape? How pathetic.”
“Aki, get the knife.”
“Got it, Shinji.”
Mr. Beanie, or Shinji as he was called, dropped Mr. Nose Piercing onto the ground.
“Take your friend, and the other one too. Don’t come back or else we will call the police.”
“Fuck ya, Aragaki! I thought ye were one of us!” Mr. Nose Piercing shouted but quickly exited when he was able to successfully carry his knocked-down friend.
Shinji shook his head and muttered under his breath, “I was never one of you.”
Mr. Red Vest (Minato forgot his name) turned to him and asked, “What were you doing here?”
“I was trying to clear my head.”
Mr. Red Vest looks around, “In here?” He didn’t seem to understand why he chose this out of all the places in Port Island. It was really unhygienic and lots of trashes are strewn around. If he were to go here to clear his head, he’d probably exit more troubled than before.
“Well, you did find me here. So yes, here. I was trying to clear my head here.” Minato sarcastically quipped. Mr. Red Vest looked so confused.
Shinji, approached Minato and gave him a band-aid and an unopened water bottle. Minato raised his eyebrows.
“For your scar. I only have water for now, so use it to clean it. Then cover it with the band-aid. When you get home do a more thorough clean, though. It’s a small scar but better be safe than sorry.” Shinji stated. When Minato accepted the items, Shinji put his hands back into his pockets.
“Don’t come back here anymore. Find another place to clear your head. Let’s go, Aki.”
Ah, Mr. Red Vest was named Aki.
“Um, alright. Goodbye.” Aki awkwardly gave a small wave, and they left. Minato decided to gather his belongings and go home.
/./
As Minato approached the apartment, he pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the time. However, his phone died. Minato sighs and when looked up, he notices that the lights are on.
Minako is home.
He brought his hand up to his face, feeling around the band-aid that was placed. He hopes Minako doesn’t notice. The last thing he wants to do is stressing Minako out even more. As he turns the doorknob, he looks down. Hopefully, not meeting her eyes would make it less obvious. As he opens the door, he was met with his sister who was in front of the door. ‘Was she going out?’
“And just where have you been?” Minako asked in a harsh tone. It was rare for her to speak like that and when he heard it, he flinched.
Not wanting to anger her even more, he lied. “With the boys.”
“Lies. They told me they didn’t know where you were.”
‘Well, shit.’
‘You’re just gonna come up with a lie and it was a terrible one.’
Not wanting to receive her wrath, he skimmed past her.
“Minato, I am talking to you.”
He stopped abruptly, still not turning to face her, “What?”
“What? What?! What do you mean ‘what’? I was worried sick! You didn’t answer any of my calls, and your friends didn’t know where you were! Not to mention that it’s late, who knows what kind of criminal could be lurking around the streets at this moment!” He could hear the frustration and worry in Minako’s voice, but he couldn’t bring himself to face her.
He feels that if he did, he’ll break down.
“Calm down, I got home safely didn’t I? It’s fine. You’re worrying over nothing.” Minato cringed at what he said, he knew that he sounded extremely self-centered right now but he couldn’t take it back anymore.
‘You’re the bad guy.’
Minato quickly got up the stairs, not wanting to say any more things that he didn’t mean.
“Minato Arisato, come back down here! I am not done talking to you!”
/./
The next day, the twins’ train ride to the school was really awkward. They can’t meet each other’s eyes. However, Minako would be lying if she said that the band-aid on Minato’s face didn’t worry her one bit. They both seem like they have so much to say, but are hesitating whether it was the right moment or not. They instead decide to disappear into their own worlds, with the power of music. It didn’t help calm down Minako’s nerves, so she decided to fidget with her phone. She eventually found her thumb hovering over the messaging app.
‘Fuck it.’
Minako: hey headphones
Minako: gud am
Headphones: Good morning to you too, pancake. :)
Headphones: How are you today?
Minako: um

Minako: i’ve got a sweet tooth hehe
Headphones: Then I guess the nickname ‘Pancake’ is perfect for you then. :)
Minako doesn’t know why but whenever they call her that name, it makes her cheeks warm and her heart starts beating faster. This feeling is foreign, but it sure as hell isn’t unwelcomed.
Minako looked out the window and noticed that the train is nearing its destination.
Minako: hey so uh i gtg real soon

During lunch, Minako decided to eat with Fuuka and Yukari. On the other hand, Minato ate with Junpei and Kenji. Their friends do not seem to be aware that the siblings are currently giving each other the ‘silent treatment’ and haven’t even uttered a word to each other since last night.
As Minako sat down with her food, her phone vibrated in her pocket. As Yukari and Fuuka were settling down in their own seats, she decides to check her phone.
Headphones: Hey, pancake. It’s lunchtime and I hope that you are eating well. :)
That short message made Minako smile so big that it didn’t go unnoticed by Yukari and Fuuka. They gave each other a quick look and turned back to silently observe Minako.
After sending a quick reply, Minako put her phone on the table and placed her bag beside her. After a few minutes, her phone vibrated. Her screen lit up, and it was a message from Headphones again.
Headphones: It better not be all sweets! Your body needs other nutrients too.
Minako chuckled at the message. Which, once again, did not go unnoticed. Yukari scooted over to Fuuka and whispered, “Do you think she forgot that we were here?”
Fuuka replied quietly, “Um, do you know who she’s texting?”
Yukari shrugged and mouthed, ‘Rio?’
Minako: heh okay MOM
Minako: make sure ure the same ok protein man
Minako put her phone down and picked up her utensils, when her phone vibrated again.
Headphones: Hey, that’s not the nickname you gave me!
Minako giggled at the message, but it was cut off by the sound of Yukari clearing her throat. Minako freezed when she realized that she momentarily forgot that Fuuka and Yukari were with her.
“So… who is your new text mate?” Yukari started, sporting a teasing smile and looking at her knowingly.
“Uh, Rio?”
Yukari raised her eyebrows, “Are you asking me?”
Minako cleared her throat, trying to show a poker face. “No, it IS Rio.”
Yukari turned to Fuuka, “Are you buying this, Fuuka?”
“No… She’s acting a bit suspicious.” Fuuka said, shyly.
“Fuuka!” Minako exclaimed, startling nearby students.
“Heh, you heard her. So who is it?”
“It’s nothing! I just saw a funny meme!”
“Would a funny meme make your phone vibrate three times in a row?”
“It’s a notification from a meme page? Um, yeah that’s it! They’re just really active today!” Minako cringed when she heard how fake that sounded.
“Why do you sound so uncertain, this makes it easier to see that you’re lying, y’know?” Yukari said smugly, and Minako doesn’t know if she should admit to Yukari that her new text mate is actually the guy from their number neighbor shenanigan. It’s nothing bad, it’s just that Minako knows that if she mentions this to them, she would not hear the end of it from Yukari.
“Okay fine.” Minako took a deep breath. “I’ll tell you.”
Yukari smiled triumphantly, while Fuuka’s eyes widened in surprise.
“So, who is it?”
“Before I tell you, can I ask what happened to your number neighbors?” Minako asked, hoping to stall.
“Hm, mine blocked me when I sent that message.” Yukari shook her head, disappointed.
“Oh, mine was really scary. They said that if I message them again, they will call the police.” Fuuka said, fidgeting with her fingers.
“What?! Isn’t that a bit too much?” Minako quickly held Fuuka’s hand, hoping to give her some sort of comfort.
“Oh, it’s fine. Maybe they thought I was a hacker or something. It’s not bad to be cautious.”
Yukari sighs, “Let’s never do this again.”
Fuuka nodded, “Agreed.”
There was a moment of silence, until Fuuka spoke up, “Why did you ask about that though, Minako?”
“Oh um… W-well…” Minako looked away and nervously laughed. Until Yukari realized why.
“Wait, is your number neighbor your new text mate?”
“Ehehe, yes?”
Fuuka and Yukari gasped.
“Well, well, well… It looks like I was right. You were able to get a relationship out of this number neighbor thing. Oh! How romantic! You were just one digit away from each other!” Yukari giggled and began hugging Fuuka out of excitement.
“Relationship? N-no… We aren’t in a re-relationship. We’re just… talking. Hehe..” Minako stuttered, and she really wanted to slap herself when she heard how she sounded.
“Yeah, and a relationship comes next after that!” Yukari cheered loudly, standing up and thrusting a first in the air triumphantly. The students in the next table seemed irritated by our table.
“Yukari, simmer down! You’re disturbing the other students!” Minako tried to get Yukari to sit back down. Fuuka found the situation amusing, and giggled.
“Anyways, give us details! You can’t expect us not to want more info when you told us that you actually ended up being text mates with your number neighbor! Spill!”
“Well, he is a nice guy. He is really understanding and willing to listen to my problems. He also respected my decision when I told him to call each other by code names instead of our real names. He also checks in with me every once in a while to see if I was okay…” Minako tells them, and unknowingly smiling to the thought of him. It wouldn’t have been noticed by Yukari and Fuuka if she wasn’t blushing so hard.
“Aww, you like him! Ask him if he wants to meet up, ey?”
“W-what! No! I-I barely know him!”
“Yeah, that’s why you are going to meet up, duh! To get to know each other more… and who knows… This could be something worth mentioning at your wedding when Fuuka and I give our toasts as your maid of honors!”
“Oh, that does sound cute!” Fuuka mentions cheerily.
“Fuuka, NO. Do not encourage Yukari, that wasn’t cute at all!”
/./
After classes, Minato waited outside of Minako’s classroom. Minato decided that he was going to apologize and open up to Minako, no matter what. He doesn’t want to keep his sister in the dark anymore. After a few minutes of waiting for his sister, he decided to go in himself and approach her. He saw her chatting with Fuuka while cleaning up her things.
“Sis.” Minato called, while dumping his bag on top of her desk. “Come with me, you can leave your things for now.” He grabbed his hand and led her outside.
Fuuka seemed confused, but resumed to picking up the scattered trashes. After a few minutes, Yukari entered the room, looking for someone. She quickly found Fuuka and approached her. “Where’s Minako?”
“Oh, Minato told her he had something to talk about. They left their things here, so you can just wait for them. If you wish to talk to Minako, they’ll probably come back soon.”
Suddenly, Yukari grinned widely. “They left their things, ey? So Minako’s phone is in here?”
Fuuka blinked a few times. ‘Why would Yukari ask about Minako’s phone?’
“Yeah, I think? I didn’t see Minako bring anything with her because Minato quickly dragged her outside, it seemed like he had something urgent to say.”
“Aha, I see… Fuuka, want to do a prank with me?”
/./
Minako was surprised by how her brother took the initiative to approach her first. She was happy as it seems like Minato is finally going to start opening up to her, something she wished he did from the start. And then, she remembers Headphone’s words: ‘He just needs some time to figure it out himself and then he will approach you.’
Minato finally let go of her wrist when they arrived at the persimmon tree. He signaled for her to sit down at the nearby bench, which was under the shade. For a few minutes, they were silent. Just taking in the peaceful environment and the cool, refreshing wind.
Minato was the first to speak up. “I’m sorry.”
Minako turned to look at him, “I’m sorry, too. For shouting at you last night, that was unnecessary.”
Minato shook his head and gave his sister a small smile. “No, that was okay. I was being unreasonable. But that’s not the only thing I’m apologizing for.”
Minako tilted her head, confused. “Huh?”
“I have been hiding things from you because I had a feeling you wouldn’t understand me. But that was wrong of me, I shouldn’t just start assuming things and then suddenly start closing off myself. When we were at the train this morning, it felt wrong that you weren’t talking to me. It was a really sucky feeling to have. And then I realized, that this was what you must be feeling when I stopped talking to you.” Minato closed his eyes and buried his face into the palms of his hands.
Minako frowned seeing her brother so distraught. She was about to say something, but Minato lifted his head and continued talking.
“The truth is, lately I have been feeling lost. I don’t know what to do. I feel… empty. I don’t know how to explain it, but basically it’s like the world is in black and white. It’s lifeless, and I don’t see the point. I am… uncertain whether I am making the right choice or not. A voice in my head is always telling me that I am making a bad choice or that I’m a failure. I… I’m sorry if I’m not making sense.”
“Minato, it’s fine… I understand.”
“Do you still love me? You won’t leave?”
Minako was shocked by what he said, “Why would you even think that? I would never leave you! You’re my brother… I would never abandon you.”
“But… mom and dad did.” Minato said quietly, and Minako feel the lump in her throat growing bigger.
“That’s okay. We don’t need them. I won’t ever leave you Minato. You are my partner-in-crime, my bestfriend, and most importantly, my brother. I love you so much and we will always be together.”
“But what will we do about the voice in my head?”
“Well, you have me. We can figure about this together. If you want, we can go see a therapist?”
“I don’t think I’m ready for that…”
“Then that is okay too. You will only go if you want to. I am here for you no matter what, and if you ever start having bad thoughts or the voice in your head gets stronger, just go to me. No matter what time or day, whether there’s classes or not, I’ll be there. Okay?”
“Okay. Thank you.”
Minako and Minato gave small smiles to each other and they hugged. After a few moments, they let go and talked to each other for a few more minutes before heading back inside.
/./
When Minako and Minato returned to the classroom to retrieve their items, they were met with Fuuka looking uneasy and fidgeting. “Fuuka? You okay?” Minako approached her friend, going in for a hug to comfort her but Fuuka jumped.
“Minako! I am so sorry! I tried stopping Yukari but she was determined!” Fuuka bowed her head.
“What are you talking about? What did Yukari do?” Minato strided over, curious with what made Fuuka so worried. Minako shrugged at Minato, confused and worried for her friend.
Fuuka stood up straight, but still unable to look Minako in the eye. Right at that moment, Yukari came in holding an empty food wrapper. “Oh, Minako! There you are!”
Minako, Minato and Fuuka all whipped their heads to where Yukari’s voice was coming from. Yukari approached them, waving the empty food wrapper in front of their faces. “Minako, Fuuka and I are really sorry for eating this deluxe donut snack from the canteen without you! Fuuka was so worried because she knows you like it so much, but I was really hungry so I ate it! Sorry!”
Minako frowned and raised her eyebrow at Yukari, crossing her arms. “Is that all?”
Yukari gulped, and Fuuka started playing with the hem of her skirt, not strong enough to look Minako in the eye. “Yeah, that’s all! R-right Fuuka?” Yukari approached Fuuka, trying to silently ask for back-up.
Fuuka finally looked up to Minako and nodded quickly. “Y-yes! We’re really sorry, Minako!”
Minato stood awkwardly beside Minako, who was seriously studying Yukari and Fuuka. Serious Minako is scary Minako. Eyes scrutinizing their every movement, lips in a tight line, and arms across her chest making her seem even more intimidating.
After a few minutes of silence, Minako gave them a bright smile and laughed. Yukari and Fuuka were surprised and Minato was confused.
“Aww, girls! Don’t worry about that! You were hungry so it’s fine!” Yukari gave a sigh of relief, while Fuuka was still a bit shaken up. Minako closed her distance with the two girls and gave them both a hug.
“But next time, wait for me okay?” She whispered, in their ears eerily.
“Y-yes, Minako.”
“Haha, yeah…”

billy and max hating each other for months.
neither of them wanted a new sibling. neither of them wanted new families, period. they avoid each other for weeks. they’re all crossed arms and one-word answers and annoyed huffs. they roll their eyes at everything the other says or does and they only tolerate each other when their parents groan at them to get over themselves. neil makes billy walk max to school, to the skate park, tells him to “be a good brother” and god that is the last thing billy wants to be. susan gives them a few extra dollars each week, tells them to take in a movie, to go get some ice cream, crossing her fingers and praying that they’ll bond. she tells max to be patient, to be kind, and maybe max would listen if billy didn’t make it so damn hard.
billy and max tolerating each other.
for a while they were each kind of hoping that this little family would blow itself up. billy thought his mom might come back. max hoped her dad might smooth things over. they thought they’d just have to put it up with it for as long as it took for neil and susan to get sick of each other, but no one returns or patches things up or gets tired. this is real and it’s not going away, so they grudgingly begin to accept it. they fall into a routine. they don’t like it, but they both know they can’t fight it.
billy and max finding a common ground.
when billy gets his license and they spend more time in the car, max hears his music more clearly than when it’s muffled behind his closed bedroom door. and she actually kind of likes it. she actually turns up the volume, and this actually makes billy smile. he even lets her pick the music sometimes. when they move to hawkins max makes mix tapes for the drive and she makes sure it’s full of all the songs she knows they both like. she’s in charge of changing the tapes. they dashboard drum and air guitar their whole way to indiana. they don’t talk about it, not even with each other, but it makes the journey a whole lot easier on them.
billy and max quietly supporting each other.
they’re not the most loving siblings. they’re still not even really nice to each other. but when billy knows that max is upset- when her new friends are pissing her off, when mike doesn’t make her feel included, when she has a fight with lucas -he tells her to get in the car. they go for a long drive and he switches radio stations until he finds something that makes her turn the volume up. and when he’s upset- when max has heard neil yelling, mostly -max does the same. she asks him to take her to el’s, or to the arcade, and she always pops in one of his favorite tapes, one she knows he’ll want to listen to all the way through, so he’ll keep it on and drive around and keep out of the house until he has to pick her up.
and then starcourt happens. the mind flayer happens. max almost loses billy.
the family practically move into hawkins lab as billy is treated, tested, poked and prodded. for a while they’re not allowed to go near him- for their own safety, and for his, because no one knows if the mind flayer left anything toxic in him and the major damage to his organs and the infections from the wounds have left him compromised. max sits in an uncomfortable chair with headphones on and she listens to all the mix tapes she’d made for their drive to hawkins, turning up the volume on billy’s favorite songs.
and when she is allowed to see him, she puts the headphones on him. she plays him all the music she knows he loves and she holds his hand and she tells him all about how she wants him to get better, that she misses all his bitching and their long drives and that he’s missing a lot of really good new music that he’s going to really love.
she doesn’t know if he can hear her, but one day when she’s telling him about how steve promised to help fix the camaro and how he even said he wanted to try to upgrade the sound system, billy squeezes her hand. well, not really a squeeze, but his fingers close around hers and it makes her jump and then it makes her smile.
because it means that billy is okay. that he’s going to be okay.
billy and max are going to be okay.

Noir (yutae)
Week I pt. 1

Tokyo – fall of 1983: Nakamoto Yuta is quickly rising in the ranks of one of Japan’s most notorious yakuza families, and he’s poised to climb even further if he can stop himself from being ruined by the pretty Korean boy who’s shown up out of nowhere.

Yuta was easily recognizable. He was of about average stature, but that was the first and last thing about him that could be described as “average.” Yuta reckoned that anyone living or working in the areas in and around Ueno Park and Akihabara could describe him to the police if they felt like it, but they all knew better, didn’t they? He had a striking face, which others often remarked could have landed him in an idol group in another life. He kept his hair in an undercut which swept over his head suggesting ever so faintly the shape of a mullet, but he would never call it that. Mullets were for Mötley Crüe, not for men of taste. Although he kept the bottom of the haircut in its original black, the long part was died white – an aesthetic choice that Yuta not only liked but which also made him feel nearly invincible in its destruction of his anonymity.
Yuta was freshly 24, a prodigy of sorts in his own world of the Inagawa-kai family, where he had been promoted to Shategashira lieutenant last year and was now the commander of a small gaijin and zainichi unit operating in Shitamachi. There was gossip that his position was due only to his relationship with Oyabun Hirai Goro’s daughter, but he knew better than that which was all that mattered.
It was late October and a crisp evening as Yuta weaved his way down Chū Avenue. He drew plenty of looks: of fearful recognition but also of admiration from certain young women. Not one for subtlety, he wore a double-breasted dark blue snakeskin suit and a jumble of rings and piercings. A scar transversing his right eyebrow and the tendrils of tattoos reaching out from his sleeves and collar confirmed his connection to the underworld for anyone who saw him, but that was alright if it gave Yuta some space to walk in the crowd.
He took a right into an arcade where Mark was sitting absently behind a yellow desk and flipping through the pages of the latest Young Magazine installment of Akira . When he saw Yuta, he immediately straightened to attention.
“Good evening Shategashira!”
“At ease,” Yuta said casually, “how’s business today?”
Mark went back to slouching over his comic and shrugged as Yuta surveyed the room.
“Average,” hazarded Mark, “I’ve been hearing the machines in back pretty consistently my whole shift and Jungwoo’s still somewhere fixing shit and trying to get people to buy computers.”
Yuta rapped his knuckles against the desk. “Having any luck?”
Mark shrugged again. “Why don’t you ask him?”
Yuta withdrew from the desk with a performative huff and straightened his jacket. Sometimes he wondered if he should be less familiar with his subordinates, but he couldn’t imagine acting strict like some other lieutenants; he liked most of his men too much to be anything but personable. So as usual, Mark’s cautious sass went unacknowledged.
Yuta made his way to the back of the low-ceilinged white room. The walls were lined with cubbies full of manga, tech and porn magazines, and cassettes; string lights; mirrors; Nintendo arcade games; and in the center of the space, you could peruse tables of PC’s in various states of disuse alongside Mazinger Z figurines. Jungwoo had stationed himself in the middle of the clutter, fiddling with the hard drive of an ’82 Apple.
“Jungwoo!”
“Shategashira!”
“At ease.”
“This just came today!” remarked Jungwoo, referring to the computer. “The computing power on this thing is off the charts! A shame I have to fuck with it.”
“A necessary sacrifice,” said Yuta, not giving a damn about the technical side of this business since he couldn’t begin to understand it. “How many have you sold?”
“Seven today,” said Jungwoo, sinking into a chair with his whole weight and pushing at his cuticles with the end of a screwdriver, “so that’s 225,000 yen, give or take. I can get the books if you want.”
Yuta smiled, catlike. “No, that’s alright. Good work. Although I’m confident you can do better still.”
Jungwoo stood again sharply. “I assure you I can, Shategashira !”
“Good.”
In reality this was not a bad amount of revenue for the day so far. The Inagawa-kai paid the property and business taxes on the building to shore up favor with the local government but didn’t technically own it. The real owners covered all other expenses and utilities, meaning the Inagawa people ultimately could keep more of their profits than the average business owners, and this setup wouldn’t change because the landlords knew the local precinct had Inagawa’s back and that Yuta – or if not him, someone else – would not hesitate to pull a katana on them if they suddenly took issue with the arrangement.
No, thought Yuta, this is good. Jungwoo was selling near his quota, and with the viruses he had installed, many of the unsuspecting customers would eventually be bringing their devices back for costly repairs.
Yuta looked at the unassuming door behind Jungwoo.
“Johnny in there?” he asked.
Jungwoo nodded curtly in response and Yuta passed him to open the door, stepping into the windowless back room. Smoke hit Yuta instantly, warming his lungs along with the stinging scent of hard liquor. The room may have been devoid of natural light, but it did have plenty of colorful artificial illumination: a wall of well-populated pachinko machines making brassy noises so loud Yuta could have sworn they were coming from inside his skull. Each machine was a hypnotizing box of glowing neon, flashing lightbulbs, and shiny silver balls clacking in a perverse rhythm with the players’ chorus of disappointed groans and victorious whoops. The men at the pachinko machines were all around middle age, smoking their heads off and depressing the shit out of Yuta.
Yuta swept his gaze over the rest of the room; the weathered purple booths on the other wall, the checkerboard tile on the floor, the mildewy walls; until he landed on Johnny. He was in the bar in the back, under a dusty glass chandelier, smoking with a young woman seemingly attached to the front of his mahogany suit.
Johnny didn’t notice Yuta until he was a few paces away, and Yuta sensed a flicker of disappointment on Johnny’s face when he did look up, although Yuta couldn’t reproach him for that and he did well to hide it.
“Ah, Shategashira ,” Johnny greeted languidly, and Yuta acknowledged him back with a nod of his head. Johnny was a few months older than Yuta, so he could afford to be more casual with his superior. The only reason Johnny didn’t have Yuta’s position was that he indulged too much in life’s vices and wanted to keep it that way.
“Can we speak somewhere a bit quieter?” Yuta asked, and Johnny nodded, whispering something to his companion before leading Yuta out the back doorway into an alley. Yuta breathed the crisp autumn air in once outside, a relief from the stuffiness of the pachinko bar. Yuta reached into his pocket and pulled out a box of cigarettes and a lighter, smoking to match Johnny and giving Johnny time to get situated next to him against the wall. Yuta had to look up to speak since Johnny was a good bit taller than him and when he did, Johnny’s face was sharper than usual in the shadows of twilight. Yuta took a long drag of his cigarette.
“So,” said Johnny, “you know when yet?”
“A month and a half from today,” said Yuta, “gives us enough time to finish preparing, I think.”
Johnny nodded, grinding the burnt-out end of his cigarette into the brick behind him. “Good. Can you relay the details? What do I need to do?”
“You and I and the other Sokaiya members will be going into the Mitsubishi executive offices with the goal of getting 130,000,000 yen and the right to ship arms and drugs to our Triad allies in Hong Kong disguised alongside the company’s car and electronics exports.”
“Goro’s getting ambitious, huh?” Johnny figured aloud.
“Yes,” Yuta answered, “in return we’re offering our own men as indefinite security details for commerce in the South China Sea and for members of the executive board, personally.”
“Mercenaries and bodyguards, I see.”
“You could call it that.” Yuta took another drag of his cigarette and let the smoke escape his mouth in a meandering cloud. Once it dissipated, he said, “but as to your role, you’re in charge of gathering information on Sato Kenichi. He runs Mitsubishi’s finances and although we’ve found ample evidence to use against the CEO and I’m still working on some leads for the VP – Miyazaki is his name – we need dirt on as many of the higher ups as possible. They can’t refuse us or we’re dead.”
Johnny nodded, lighting himself another cigarette. “Sato Kenichi. Understood. Any leads on the guy?”
“Yes, I have them here.” Yuta pulled a small sealed folder out of the interior of his jacket and handed it to Johnny, who slipped it into one of his inner pockets without opening it.
“Thank you, Shategashira .”
“Just do a good job,” said Yuta, adding, “please.” Then he dropped his cigarette to the asphalt and ground it out with the heel of his boot. “We have almost enough stock to make the shareholder’s meeting so that shouldn’t be a problem. Also, the Triads are sending a group of emissaries to advise us on their priorities and join us at the meeting. They should be here in a few weeks or so. That is all. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go meet the princess for our joint birthday dinner. We decided to combine this year.”
Yuta and Johnny pushed themselves off the wall and exchanged conspiratorial smiles.
“Tell her I said omedetou ,” said Johnny, backing away to return to his post at the dingy Pachinko bar, pulling the packet on Sato Kenichi out of his pocket and passing it between his hands. “I can’t wait to see what this Sato-san gets up to in his spare time. These executive types are all extortionists and perverts. And they call us the criminals.”
Yuta chuckled to himself. It was ironic, wasn’t it? He saluted Johnny and turned on his heel with a “work hard, please,” and that was that. The sun was setting, hot pink. He’d be late to meet Momo if he didn’t hurry, but this was important business after all. A month and a half. What could possibly go wrong in such a short time?

This technique is then pitted against opponents and obstacles which have been developed from the ground up to interact meaningfully with the core system. The course was fixed, but the technique for dealing with that course was absolutely down to the ingenuity, talent and inspiration of the player. Chapter 35 - The Festival
“Are you sure?”
Itara shifted uncomfortably under RK’s gaze, having to look down and away after a moment, “N-No… not… I mean… it’s just…” Her hand reached down to wring the edge of her shirt as she struggled for an explanation, though she knew she didn’t have much of one yet.
After the meeting at Susan’s Itara spent several of the following days debating how to tell Simon she couldn’t go to the festival with them. Up until recently, the idea of skipping out on the Solaris Festival was beyond her comprehension. Even if she knew her father wouldn’t hear any of it, she was happy to do anything to let him know she was still there and waiting to help him in any way she could. But lately… lately, it was different. She wanted nothing more than to hide in the basement lab and forget the entire event this time around. She didn’t even want to see the shrine. Yet every time she came up with a believable excuse, she mentally doubled back on it and couldn’t pinpoint why.
Her inclination to go had nothing to do with seeing the shrine or the ritual or even her father. If anything, with the other Gods awake, she wanted to avoid it all the more. For the first time in her long, long life, she wanted to avoid her father and everything to do with him. Yet she still couldn’t talk herself out of going and, while it took several hours of lying awake at night, she finally figured out why. She wanted to be with her friends.
She wanted to avoid her father, but she wanted to go and have fun with the only friends she’d ever made in several hundred years of existence more. She wanted to play silly kid games and watch everyone dance -she wouldn’t make that much of a fool of herself by joining in- and eat all the snacks Simon described to her while trying to convince her to go. She wanted to see Camilla’s face when she got annihilated in some pop cork shooting game, she wanted to challenge Simon to every arcade game they could find, she wanted to see if Tobi and the gaming group showed up at any point. She even wanted to see Sceira. She hadn’t gone back to school since returning home so she’d only seen Simon and Camilla at that meeting and Sceira hadn’t come back to their neighborhood since dropping her suitcase off.
She didn’t understand it, as much as she tried, but she thought maybe if she ignored the point of the festival maybe she could have fun with her friends. Even if it was just one night. She just wanted one night. But she didn’t know how to convey all this to RK, either. There were too many inexplicable emotions and concepts to properly explain herself to the bot. All she could do was shrug and look hopelessly up at him, a pained frown spread across her face. She was hoping he wouldn’t ask her reasons. That he would just assume she wanted to go for the normal reasons and not argue the point.
As she stared up at him, unsure what his reaction would be and hoped he would somehow end her raging mental debate, the door to the lab swung open and revealed a perplexed Metal Sonic. He had a long stretch of yellowed parchment in his hand and his eyes were glowing brightly as he looked up at the two. He stopped to study the eyes on him as an eyebrow lifted, “what?”
RK shook his head and turned fully towards the other bot, “Itara wants to go to the festival.”
Metal looked back and forth between them, his expression straightened as he shrugged. “Of course she does, what else did you expect? In either case, there’s something more important that requires our attention,” he held the parchment up and continued, “I just finished transcribing these and-.”
“Are those the Gaia Manuscripts?!” Itara’s previous mental anguish evaporated as her face twisted into baffled fury. “YOU got them?! You had them this entire time?!”
Metal’s scowl at being interrupted shifted into snide amusement at the furious hedgehog, “Yes, I did. The best way to keep them away from you was to keep them with me, after all.” RK sighed but Metal’s amusement fell away quickly enough, “but, as I was saying, we may have a slight problem. You said Chaos likely has the emeralds, correct?” Itara nodded. “And he absorbed them completely? You’re certain?”
“Not a hundred percent, but between what Zero told me about the missing emeralds and Chaos’ rampage through Station Square it’s a safe assumption. Especially considering no one’s heard mention of any Super Sonic since all of this started. If the emeralds were accessible, you know he’d have them by now. Why?”
“Because according to the manuscripts, when Dark Gaia awakens, he splits the world to pieces and only Light Gaia, with the power of the emeralds and the Gaia Temples, can fix it again. I only have what was on display at the museum, though. You knew of Gaia from before, didn’t you? Do you know anything about these temples, little time traveler?”
Itara frowned and crossed her arms, turning away to think on it. She knew about Dark and Light Gaia’s back and forth, she knew they awoke at specific times to battle it out and went back to sleep afterwards, but she never had need to look into it further. Eventually she shook her again and looked back at them again, “I don’t. I didn’t know anything about the temples or that the Chaos Emeralds were used in their battle.”
RK reached over to grab the manuscript and study it, “could you copy the translations over to me? We can look further into it… if it becomes necessary. I’d like to stay as far from having to fight Gods again as possible.” There was a moment of awkward silence between the three before RK handed the manuscript back to Metal, “in the meantime, my concern is the festival. I don’t know how great of an idea it’ll be to go. Especially with recent events. I feel like staying as far from any potential Solaris issues should be the highest priority.”
“RK, I…” Itara sighed heavily. She didn’t want to admit the real reason she wanted to go, but after a moment realized it was what he had been trying to convince her of for some time now. If she wanted to go, the real explanation was the best way to persuade him. “I… don’t… want to go for… Solaris.” She glanced up at the raised eyebrows from the corner of her eye, vague hints of surprise touched RK’s face while curiosity covered Metal’s. “I…,” she looked away again, her words scrambled over themselves as her hand busied with the edge of her clothing, “I want to… g-go with… my… my f-friends.”
She didn’t have the willpower to look up again and let silence fill the room, unsure how they would respond, whether Metal would mock her or RK would question her further. She was somewhat glad Kipper wasn’t around because she knew for sure she’d never hear the end of it from him but the elongated silence from the other two was uncomfortable enough on its own. When she did finally get some form of response, it came in the form of a hand on her head. She glanced up at it, following the arm to the massive red robot that was crouched down beside her, the trace of a smile touched his features.
“Alright,” RK nodded, “I think we can do that, then.” Metal remained silently watching, studying, behind him, the curiosity never quite left his face but his normal scoff returned before long.
“You’re both too attached to the mortals now.”
RK shot him a quick scowl but Itara turned red in the face. “I…!” She couldn’t argue. He was right. She’d grown attached. Just like she’d grown attached to RK and Kipper and now Metal. But more than anything, she was excited. She was excited for the festival, for the games, the music, and the treats. She was excited to have a fun night out with her friends. Her arm was still healing from the break, but her powers had finally calmed down again. She didn’t have to worry about lighting anything on fire and hopefully it remained that way. She just wanted to be a normal hedgehog, for one night.
The day of the festival couldn’t come fast enough.
Itara’s apprehension about going to an event centered around her father hadn’t ebbed much at first, but the closer to the festival it got, and the more Simon brought it up whenever he dropped by, the more excited Itara inevitably got. She was only vaguely interested in the concept at first, but by the night before she had a hard time getting to sleep due to sheer anticipation. Metal and RK continued to discuss what they’d learned regarding Gaia and the Chaos Emeralds, and Itara filled in any details regarding the Gods and lost gems that they didn’t have, but she had a hard time focusing on it for long. She’d even asked RK to order her a new dress online for the festival. None of them necessarily wanted to go into town for a shopping trip, but online ordering was an option. Itara was just grateful the little blue and purple dress fit right because they certainly didn’t have time to send it back and get another size.
The first day of the festival was entirely dedicated to the citywide offerings. It was an all-day event open to everyone willing to stop by, even Simon, Lynda, and Susan’s family brought something to the city for offering, but Itara avoided it. She didn’t want to give her dad anything more than she already had. If anything, he could have her lost journal back, but other than that she would ignore the first day of the festival. But once the second day, the day with events and gatherings and dances and stalls and stands for them to go around and have fun at came, Itara could barely contain her enthusiasm.
She was up early that morning, showered and dressed and attempting to wrangle her quills into some kind of style, when RK came up from the lab to get her breakfast started. He watched her strangely while she ate, but only shook his head and returned to the lab to talk with Metal about the day once she was cleaned up. The other bot was barely pulling himself out of the charging station when RK returned and glanced over at him before turning to the computer to check on the program they’d left running overnight.
“Still nothing?” RK questioned as he rejoined Metal’s side at the computer desk.
Metal shook his head, “Nothing. No sign of the emeralds, the temples, or Robotnik. I don’t, for a second, believe that madman actually died in that flood, I know he’s hiding out. Possibly with that other bot. But neither one has made an appearance since. On the other hand, though, both Chaos and Gaia have shifted movements. Chaos headed for the ocean and Gaia has retreated to that first hole he created. People think they might finally be returning to sleep but… I don’t think that’s the case.” His brows pulled together as one claw tapped impatiently on the opposite arm, his eyes pierced through the screen he was staring down.
“What do you think it is, then?”
“I can’t say for sure… maybe waiting, maybe resting, but there’s no way they’re just going back to sleep with no outward force. Spagonia is one giant crater now, Station Square is entirely underwater, and even the outer edges of Soleanna have crumbled into one of Gaia’s rifts. They’re not finished. I don’t know what they’re doing, but they’re not finished.”
Silence fell around the lab as the bots studied the news articles spread across the screen, the list of notes about the Ancient Gods Itara had given them, and the empty tracking program they’d built to keep an eye out for Robotnik’s movements. After several minutes, the silence broke with the slam of the door at the top of the stairs and a tiny, ecstatic call for RK, who sighed and turned his attention to the stairwell. Itara half-ran down the steps, though slowed her pace when she nearly tripped, and called over to them again.
“RK! Sparky! Are you ready to go yet?!”
“Just about, Itara,” RK responded. He shot Metal a quick glance before crossing the room to meet Itara halfway, “Do you have everything you need?” She nodded her head curtly and RK looked back at the other bot, “Metal, did you decide whether or not you’re coming with us?”
“Tch… of course I am,” Metal scoffed as he turned away from the computer, “I still think this is an awful idea and apparently I must go with you to prove it.” RK couldn’t help but smirk but turned back towards the stairs and the three of them returned to the house to prepare to leave. RK got himself a new pair of boots and a new jacket when he ordered Itara’s dress she wanted, and even got a surprise jacket for Metal so they would all be fully prepared and comfortable for their excursion back into the city. It would be their first trip out of the neighborhood since the disaster school trip and RK wanted to ensure that they were ready.
For once it was Itara who grew antsy with their slowness and was at the door waiting and nearly prancing by the time the other two had changed and joined her. “Finally! Let’s go get Simon and Lynda and go!” They planned to pick the two up on their way out and the five of them would all take the train into the city. Camilla and her parents would meet up with them later as Susan was part of the preparation committee, because of course she was. Once Itara had claimed her rightful spot on RK’s shoulders, and RK grabbed the just-in-case jacket he wanted her to bring since they’d likely be there after dark, the three proceeded out the door and down to Lynda’s.
Simon was already outside, sitting on his porch, playing his handheld, but he closed it quickly once he heard them approach and waved. “Hey Itara! Lemme go get mom-!”
“I’m here,” Lynda walked out and smiled at the group before motioning to Simon to put his game away. “Go put that up so we can leave. Be quick about it.”
“Right, mom.”
Once Simon disappeared into the house, Lynda turned back to the other three and smiled warily, “we go to the festival every year, it’s one of the biggest events Simon looks forward to, but with everything that’s been happening lately…” She trailed off and RK nodded, though she perked up quickly as usual and all but grinned at them, “I’m glad to have such a strong mobian around, though. I’ve seen you fight now, after all.”
Metal and Itara both cast RK a questioning gaze (Metal’s much more accusatory than Itara’s), but RK had no time to respond before Simon bolted out again. “Alright! Let’s go! I bet Sceira’s already there. She always gets there earlier than me somehow.” Itara remained silent at the mention of Sceira, still battling her feelings regarding the scorpion. She hated Sceira for so long and she wanted to continue to hate her because it was easier, but for some reason she couldn’t and it made her uncomfortable. At least Camilla was still easy to hate.
The train ride to the city was no less antsy than the rest of the morning. Beyond Simon and Itara bouncing about in anticipation, there were a number of other children doing much the same on the train and the closer to the city they got, the more packed it got. Metal Sonic was noticeably the most uncomfortable the more people piled into the train as he travelled via train the least, and RK struggled to keep him calm.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the Soleanna Station stop finally came up and the train emptied in droves of festival goers. Humans, mobians, children, teens, parents, grandparents, couples, friend groups. To those who lived outside the city, it seemed almost as if the entirety of the population was humming and buzzing about. RK had never been more grateful that Itara preferred to stay on his shoulders as he was certain he would have lost her for an eternity in that station. He struggled to keep track of Lynda enough as it was.
Another sigh of relief escaped RK, Metal, and Lynda once they found the exits and escaped to fresh air again, though Metal only tensed again when he realized how consistent this problem would be throughout the day. He didn’t do well in crowds, he preferred having plenty of room to move and run. Not even RK was immune to the stress of city crowds, but he visited Soleanna far more often and managed to keep most of his strain under control. As soon as he noticed Metal tense up and eye the crowds sharply, his claws curled and starting to crackle, he reached over and gave the other bot a light pat on the small of his back to grab his attention. Metal’s gaze shot over at him, his eyes brightly lit, but forced himself to calm after a short conversation over their comm units.
“C’mon, the crowds should thin out a bit once we get further from the station.”
“And if they don’t?” Metal hissed, though followed after the red bot as he led the group towards the sound of music. They had both downloaded maps of the festival layout so they would know where everything was ahead of time, including the fastest exits from every angle should they need it.
“They will. This is just an everyone arriving at once blockage, once people start looking around the stalls and going about their business, it’ll thin out,” RK assured him. He led them through crowds and down the busy streets, keeping a sharp eye on Metal as he did so, but proved his point as the people became less and less clustered. As soon as the festival stalls came into sight, lined all up and down what was once main street, they had room to spread out again and Metal wasted no time getting a full arm’s length from everyone. Even Lynda breathed a sigh of relief when she had room to move and Simon wrenched his mom’s hand off his, giving it a good couple shakes to get the feeling back in it.
The five stood there for several minutes, taking a moment to breathe as well as take in the sights of the festival. To Itara, who had only seen it in passing in a time long forgotten and had never stopped to enjoy any of it, the endless lines of booths and stalls all with excited workers calling out to passersby to ‘have a crack at this’ or ‘don’t miss out on the best that’ filled her with exhilaration and eagerness to join the crowds for once. To Simon, who came every year and enjoyed it every time, the increased stalls and events only made him antsier to meet up with more friends and get at everything he could possibly fit into one day.
Lynda, meanwhile, was already scoping out the alcohol stands and preparing to annihilate several glasses before the night ended. For the two robots, however, neither of which had ever seen anything quite like the grandiose display before them, only experienced wary hesitation. Metal already dreaded the crowds and people he would be forced to wade through without having the option to mutilate any of them, lest whatever cover they had remaining be blown. RK, on the other hand, could only see every mention of Solaris and mentally cringe. He hadn’t planned to let Itara get near the festival originally, considering her past habits and current mental state. He could only hope she remained distracted by her friends and kept her mind off the Sun God somehow. He wasn’t sure where she stood with him anymore and it concerned him.
None of them were given long to debate, however, as Itara and Simon called them all to attention and the five were sent into the sea of festival goers to first find Sceira, then continue onwards to battle. They had stalls and games and snacks to conquer and only so much time to do it all in. RK and Lynda exchanged glances at the eager children’s command, but shrugged and moved on. Metal, meanwhile, only rolled his eyes in annoyance but followed, nonetheless.
“So Sceira and I usually meet up near the lemonade stall but… there’s more than one this year,” Simon informed them as they slowly trudged down the packed road.
“Well what’s the name of the one you normally meet at?” Itara questioned.
“Uh…”
“It’s the one run by Bear’s Diner,” Lynda offered in Simon’s place, “the owner is quite a nice man. He always gets rather excited about the Solaris Festival, I’m sure he won’t be hard to spot.”
RK nodded, glad he’d mapped out where each stand would be ahead of time and once again led the way to their destination. The lemonade stand, according to the map he and Metal had, was placed dead center on the left side and luckily the map was correct. They found it quickly enough and Itara spotted the grey pseudo-scorpion easily enough from her higher vantage and pointed her out to the group. She and her parents were standing near the lemonade stall, drinks in hand, chatting as quietly as they could without being drowned out by the enclosing crowds.
Once Simon caught sight of them, he rushed over, calling out to Sceira, and brought the three’s attention to the approaching group. Sceira and her mother, another grey-eyed pseudo-scorpion like her daughter, stared out in their general direction, Sceira gave a small wave as Simon approached while her mother offered a quiet, uncertain smile. Her father, a slightly larger jet-black scorpion with deep black eyes and one long, ponytailed pincer, looked their way and studied the group carefully but nodded to Lynda. He said nothing and continued to study the other two mobians sharply while Sceira took up the mantle of conversation that her parents didn’t offer.
“Hi Simon, did you just arrive?”
“Yep! Just got off the train! Itara’s here, too! I managed to convince her to come, after all,” Simon grinned up at Itara as she shifted on RK’s shoulders. Shock touched the scorpion’s face before lowering to solemn concern. “Oh, that’s right, you haven’t seen her since she came back. It’s alright, she’s fine.”
RK had been avoiding eye contact with the piercing gaze of the mobian parent, concerned that he might actually recognize either him or Metal, but shifted his attention to Itara at the conversation. She hadn’t said anything yet but he reached up to pull her off his shoulders and nudge her towards the other girl so they could have whatever conversation needed to happen. Not even he was sure of Itara’s feelings towards Sceira lately, but based on what Metal filled him in on regarding the trip, he knew they needed to talk.
Itara stiffened when she was set back down, both because she didn’t want to move her still healing arm and also because she secretly feared what Sceira would say. The scorpion girl shifted uncomfortably but neither of them had a moment’s respite as Simon explained, “you two should just hug it out or something. Though, Sceira you should be careful of Itara’s arm, it’s broken.” Both Sceira and Itara winced at the mention of her arm, a curious sight to the watching Simon, but finally Sceira cut the silence between the two.
“Itara, I’m… I’m sorry… about what happened. At the university. I froze up. If it hadn’t been for you I….”
Itara’s face scrunched, uncomfortable with the apology but sighed and looked away, “It’s… it’s whatever. D-Don’t… don’t mention it, I…” She wanted to tell her she didn’t even know why she did it in the first place, that she originally intended to leave her there to die. But somehow it didn’t feel like the right thing to say. She wanted to have fun tonight and starting the day off by telling Sceira she wished she’d died that day for the sake of the manuscripts felt like the wrong way to do it. But she didn’t know what else to say, either. Eventually she sighed loudly and dramatically, turned back to face Sceira, and stated as firmly as her shaking voice could possibly manage, “L-Let’s just… forget about the stupid trip and… play some dumb games. Simon promised games and snacks.”
The group remained in shocked silence for several minutes to process her response, especially RK, Metal, and Sceira. Even Itara was mildly taken aback by her own answer, but a smile slowly spread across the scorpion’s face as she nodded. “Yeah… yeah, alright. Let’s play some games. I’m glad you’re back, Itara. We’ve been worried about you.”
“Alright!” Simon exclaimed with an excited bounce, “let’s get this game train rolling! We’ve probably got a couple hours at least until Camilla is gonna be free so let’s keep the real fun stuff for after that but we should hit up a snack stand!” The tense air between Itara and Sceira defused rapidly as they joined Simon in his plans on which stalls to hit first and which to leave for when Camilla was with them. Of course, as much as Itara didn’t mind Sceira’s company for now, she still didn’t want to be near Susan and Camilla. They still irked her and Susan still felt suspicious of them, but she supposed she could deal with it for the day. Not even Camilla was going to ruin her fun today.

#1-#10 and #12-20 for your courier 😺✨
Oh my gosh this is so many! I’ll try to do the best I can.
1. Faction: Technically she’s aligned with Yes-Man, but she’s Followers all the way. She’s too optimistic and idealistic to be anything else.
2. Preferred Armor: she can use power armor after getting training from Judah Kreger, but after it broke down in the Big MT, she chooses not to. Right now, her “uniform” is Mobius’s Labcoat and the Gannon Power Helmet. I really like how they look together, it gives off a “Rocketeer” vibe. (Sorry for no pictures, I’ll try to get some as soon as she’s out of the Sierra Madre)
3. Weapon type: she’s a pacifist except when absolutely necessary, at which point she uses Energy Weapons.
4. Highest Skills: she’s a talented doctor and scientist, meaning that Medicine and Science are her highest skills. She also has a high speech skill (it was the only way to recruit Arcade), although this often translates to “says endearing things that make people like her” rather than the typical smooth talker. During OWB, she upped her stealth skill in order to better avoid robodogs, nightstalkers, and lobotomites, at least until she got the Stealth Suit. She’s working on Survival and Repair in the Sierra Madre right now. Her lowest are Barter and Guns.
5. SPECIAL: S 6 P 9 E 7 C 6 I 10 A 4 L 6
6. (Important) Perks: Cherchez la Femme, Big Brained, Comprehension, Computer Whiz, Educated, Four Eyes, Good Natured, Swift Learner, Lessons Learned. Obviously that’s not all of them but it’s the ones that matter most to her character.
7. Companions: She’s very close with Arcade, Veronica, and Christine, and loves her pets/robot friends Rex and Ed-E. God gets on her nerves, but she pities him more than anything else. Dean’s a bastard, but he’s a useful bastard, and so she deals with him and tries to stay in his good graces.
8. Relationships: No romantic partners, no. Most women aren’t interested in a gal covered in someone else’s blood, and the ones who would be are usually disinterested when they learn that the other person is still alive. She did harbor a mini-crush on Veronica when they first met, but that stopped cold when they first talked about Christine.
9. Demographics: white lesbian.
10. She was born and raised in Freeside, helping her mother in and around the Old Mormon Fort. They had a small apartment near Mick and Ralph’s.
12. I’m going to modify this question, and answer “How did the courier affect her?”. To that end, I don’t think she ever wanted a bigger life than a Wasteland medic, because a) it suited her and b) she knew she was doing real good in the Mojave. But when she was mistaken for the courier and saw what House was planning, she realized she had to step up and do what had to be done, for the good of the Mojave.
13. How did she deal with Benny: regrettably, she had to abandon him in the Fort, as there was no way for her and Arcade to fight their way out. It’s entirely possible that decision will come back to bite her eventually.
14. NCR/Legion rep: I think by this point she’s certainly a blip on their radars, especially the Legion, considering she visited their leader’s camp. She was stationed at Camp Golf briefly as a medic, but they haven’t connected the dots of her former life to her current. Besides that, her only direct interaction with the NCR thus far has been fixing the solar panels at Helios One and creating a redundancy in case the dam fell. Once she returns from the Sierra Madre, though, she’s going to start forging alliance across the Mojave, and that’s going to get their attention.
15. Freeside Rep: to them, Sophia is a shining example of what a kid from Freeside can grow up to become. The Kings all love her, especially after stopping a war between the gang and the NCR and fixing the King’s robo-dog. Mick and Ralph watched her grow up and always give her discounts on whatever she needs. Even the Garetts and the Van Graffs admire her from afar, and she often buys ammo for her weapons from the Silver Rush. And obviously, she’s in very good graces with the Followers of the Apocalypse.
16. Goodsprings/Novac/Primm Rep: not a lot, honestly. She stopped in and fixed Johnson Nash’s broken down eyebot for him, but other than, she doesn’t visit them very often.
17. Minor faction Rep: she actually hasn’t met any of the factions besides the Khans yet. While recovering at the Old Mormon Fort from her adventures in the Big MT, she discovered that the Followers had helped the Khans in the past, which encouraged her to reforge the alliance. She’s never interacted with the Brotherhood directly, only with its agents: Veronica, Christine, and Father Elijah, which has given her a … mixed reaction. I think she’ll like the Boomers once she gets to know them; they’re good people if a little weaponry-obsessed. The Gangers can rot.
18. NV Strip Rep: House isn’t fond of Sophia, but his opinion doesn’t matter much anymore. After installing Cachino in charge of the Omertas, she’s made sure that they won’t make any trouble with her. The Chairmen vaguely recognize her as “that doll that made Benny wig out and disappear” but don’t really know much beyond that. She knows something is up with the White Gloves, but she can’t figure it out. And the NCR Military Police are a little uneasy about the new faces on all the Securitrons, but they haven’t let it bother them yet.
19. Motives: originally, she just wanted to stop House out of fear that he would use the newly-upgraded Securitrons to take over Freeside. But she quickly realized that a power vacuum on that scale would only lead to the collapse of New Vegas and the surrounding area, allowing either Caesar or the NCR to move in and take over. Her ideal government is a loose syndicate of mutually-cooperating communities, with a newly-assertive Yes Man to defuse situations, using Securitrons if necessary. The NCR is welcome to remain in the Mojave, but they have to leave the greater New Vegas area alone and stop conquering absorbing communities - if they want to make a nation, they have to do it themselves. The Legion can, again, rot.
20. Theme song: I think there’d be a different one for each period of her story. (Note: not all of these are period correct, but I tried to fit the Old West vibe). When she’s just a wasteland medic, I think Ain’t That A Kick In the Head by Dean Martin fits her outlook on life and optimistic personality. From her trip to the Fort to just after assembling the Enclave Remnants, Short Change Hero by the Heavy fits how she’s panicky and suddenly realizes the enormity of her place in the Wasteland, even though she doesn’t want it. Throughout the Big MT, Devil at the Door by the Highlonesome encapsulates how she feels: scared, alone, surrounded by enemies and an expendable pawn for greater beings. But once she gets her brain back from Mobius and realizes the truth of why she was brought to the Big MT, her theme song changes to The World Ender by Lord Huron as she comes back from the brink of death and despair to become an unstoppable juggernaut of revenge, tearing down first the Think Tank, then tracking Elijah and Christine to the Sierra Madre to find out who Elijah is and then kick his ass for putting a bomb collar on her and Christine. If there’s another theme song for post-Dead Money, I haven’t found it yet.
Thanks for all the questions OP! It was really fun to think of answers to all of these.
