Thinking about all the differences in the gillded Icarus cosplay compared to returned Icarus, how those differences say a lot about Icarus’ mental state

How Gilded Icarus has the forehead scar form Centross, but they don’t have the hand potion scars.

How gilded brews potions but doesn’t have the hand scars Ic does. How they’ve made the potions without the marks, without the small failures and spills staining their skin.

I finally got to cosplay Icarus!!!

Details in the cosplay under

One of my favorite details I did was all the embroidery

On the neck there’s embroidery that spells out Icarus in Quixian

On the yellow sleeve cuff there’s the flowers that represent their family/ppl important to them (Haley [daisy], Centross [purpleish daisy], Athena [allium], Rae [orchid]) and on the purple sleeve there are symbols for each of their family members (Rae [ender eye], Athena [strawberry cake], Centross [glowberry], Haley [eye bandage thing]

Also the pockets have embroidery, the white pocket on the yellow side of the jacket has some of their flock (Skittles, Eclipse, Zebbles, Vanda, and Thoumas)

And the black pocket on the purple side has some lil potion bottles

I also made a lot of bracelets that they wore, recreated some of their cannon necklaces, put a temporary tattoo of thoumahas on my arm, painted the glitches/portal onto the shirt and dyed my hair purple

Sherb : who has a fear of horses

Heyhay : ‘so you take 10 damage, your max hp lowers by 10 and the horse takes a chunk out of your shoulder’

Oh the tone shift Asri did when Daiv clocked them as a Taruxian

And Romeo immediately getting in front of him

One thing I really like about Starbound is that even though the characters have complicated relationships and a lot of them have been enemies at one point or another and know each other weaknesses due to their species or otherwise they don’t use those specific things against each other

The characters might be rivals, might have their jobs and their pasts pointing them against each other, but they also know the other is still a person and they won’t use things like that against them

How they make jokes about Asri being way too tall, but Evren still made sure his bar was accessible,

How Mi-go cleared a path, built tunnels and bridges over water for him today

How Evren apologized when finding out about Romeo’s fear of heights and how he had previously joked about dropping her

How Romeo makes sure that Evren doesn’t worry about her telling anyone about him being trans

Daiv stop immediately clocking people’s secrets based off their species challenge you’re gonna get yourself killed

I love that in the cannon of the sherbverse c!Rina is just some streamer who’s been cursed with then knowledge of the multiverse and also this one manned wolf

FLASH AND GLITCH WARNING

New Seaside doesn’t really have much of a prison system because Violet was really against it

People assume he was against it because of his time in the end prison, but he knows that isn’t it, he knows that isn’t why, he knows he was in a prison that was so much worse than the end one, but he can’t remember any of it, and whenever he tries to he gets a headache, all he knows is that it was bad

But, he doesn’t like to bring up the odd faded memories hidden in the back of his mind so he lets people assume it’s because of the end

The Icarixis arc was really Sherb going : “you’re gonna be lonely and isolated again and this time your boyfriend can’t come get you” to Ic

How Romeo immediately gets in front of Asrickus when Daiv realizes they’re a Taruskian, how she stays in front of or right next to him for most of the time that Davi is around

How she was already messaging Asri when they sent her that this is weird how she immediately asks if they’re okay and tells him that her crossbow is loaded. That they’re ready to fight if something goes wrong

How Fable immediately blamed his memories being wrong on Enderian. How he assumed that letting Rae into his mind, letting Rae show him what he was missing would lead to his memories being altered

How whenever Fable was in someone’s mind (whether allowed or by force) he altered people’s memories (altered their minds) for his own benefit and he assumed that everyone else Rae would as well

Huge shout out to the starbound cast for just how interconnected everyone’s characters are it’s so neat!

I love Ic’s outfit a few years post return because they finally look how they want to look

They’ve added so much more purple to their outfit than they had right after their return (they’ve always liked purple, even if now it’s more of a reminder of Violet and Sherbert.)

They’ve grown out their hair a bit and wear it in a short pony (it makes them look less like Fable they don’t think they like looking like Fable anymore)

They’ve added the same belt type thing that Violet wears to their outfit (a reminder/piece of him on them)

They’ve shortened their jacket sleeves to show off their world port tattoos (something to remind them of the other worlds- the other versions of them that helped them find themself)

And they don’t wear gloves anymore. They’re not scared of things changing around them anymore

(The whole outfit shows more of their scars, the alchemical burns covering their hands clearly visible, the forehead scar barely missing being covered by their hair, the scar from Rae on their arm seen when they move their jacket, and the lightning scar still climbing up their neck, they don’t try to hide a lot of their scars anymore(the only scars hidden being the scars left from Quixis))
