So what is the Light Dragon's element anyway?

I remember someone theorizing that it could be Soul, but i think the recent revelation of Kendal's whole... existing-despite-not-having-any-Light-in-him Thing disproves that theory.

One major spanner in the works is that we don't appear to have any examples of or references to Light Corruption like we do for all the other elements (if i have overlooked or forgotten something that could qualify, please correct me!) This could mean that there isn't enough Light Energy anywhere in the world in large enough concentrations to cause corruption, or it could mean that we just haven't seen the parts of the world where light-corrupted beings COULD exist.

We also don't really know much about the nature of the Light Dragon other than the fact that she's the Void Dragon's equal and opposite, she can posess people, she is somehow connected to the Ancients and by extension Falst, and there's something about her that's inside every mortal created by the Twins (ie: Everyone who isn't a God or Kendal).

Looking forward to learning more about Light as the Floof Squad continues to confront this new enemy!

Mafia-Au!

As the lovely @lepetitmonstre has posted some very good smut over on AO3 set in a Mafia-Au I with some other on discord came up with, I wanted to talk more about it! There is theoratically a plot somewhere, but no promises that this will ever become a finished fic.

The Emporer: Runs The Imperium, newest and now biggest Mafia-group in town. No one knows where he came from, how old he is or how many kids he actually has. A absolute maniac with no problems to kill people and thinks that covering everything in gold is a great idea. Malcador: Emps right hand man, he does all the boring stuff. One of the very few people allowed to criticise Big E. Very exhausted, he needs a vacation. Valdor: E‘s butler, bodyguard and whatever else he might need. Makes very good tea and cake.

The Primarchs: E‘s most important underlings he delegates most tasks to. Some, but not all of them might be related to him. (Note: I haven‘t worked out all of them yet) Lion: Hitman, tough he has been on bodyguard-duty for Sang a lot as of lately. Definetly-neither-heterosexual-nor-monogamous-lifepartner of Leman and absolute psychopath. He has a pet-lion! Jagh: Everything vehicle-related. Need a get-away car? A car disappeared? Just a limo-driver? He‘ll do it. Also on the older side. No one really knows much about him. Leman: The other hitman. He has two giant definetly-not-wolves that might have a taste for human flesh. He has also been on bodyguard-duty for Sang a lot and yes, there is a very messy love-shape-thing-situation going on. It‘s gonna end in disaster. Sang: Daddys princess. The only one of his illegitimate kids E has ever acknowledged. He even tried to get her away, but why have a comfy luxurious life if you could do organized crime? Sometimes shocks people with how brutal she can get. Menace: Sangs cat. She found her in the trash. Has only one eye and probally wants to take over the world. Will try to murder everyone except Sang. Especially Horus. Rob: The one sane man. He runs a pizzaria (definetly not for moneylaundering purposes), the mafia is more his sidegig. He wants to get out, he is so tired of all that bullshit, but he also values his life. Has a surprisnhly healthy and stable relationship with Yvraine, despite her beeing from a rival group. Under no circumstances mention pineapple-pizza while around him. Floof: Robs dog. He‘s very big and fluffy and dumb. Loves cuddles. Floof is afraid of E. And cats. And gunshots. Because of that no one is allowed to carry firearms while in Robs Pizzaria. Horus: Emps‘ only legitimate child. Don‘t ask what happend with his mother. The favorite child and heir to E‘s crime-empire. Also engaged to Sang, because you know, keep it in the family. Their relationship is a toxic dumpsterfire even at the start. He‘s thinking about… let‘s just say getting rid of Emps. (Monstre changed some of the relationship-details for his one-shot) Alpharius and Omegon: No one knows where they came from, but E dragged them into his villa one day and announced that from now one they will do the internet-stuff. Most likely some of his many, many bastard-kids.

The Eldar: Used to be the big deal around, then somehow shattered into a lot of smaller groups and a lot got also arrested. Sometimes work together with the Imperium. Yvraine: Leader of one of the many Eldar-splinterfactions. In a semi-secret relationship with Rob. Still a absolute badass you should never underestimate.

The Orks: A gang of thugs/hooligans that just like to beat people up. There is very little logic behind how they act and they just generally are a problem for everyone else who is trying to do organized crime.

Chaos: The highly corrupt local authorities/police. They do absolutly nothing against the crime running rampant (except that one time Slaanesh destroyed the eldar) while getting bribes from everyone. But when they hear that Horus has some plans, they get interested…

I definetly want to include the other Xenos-factions, but I don‘t really have a good idea for them yet.

So I have an entirely indulgent headcanon that my main Tav/Durge, Nym, ends up accidentally getting knocked up by Haarlep during their encounter and now she has a cambion son that looks like Raphael’s kid that she and Astarion raise in the newly renovated Cazador manor.

Haarlep didn’t intend to knock her up and my explanation is Nym is the daughter of an abyssal cambion herself and the great granddaughter of Graz’zt, the demon prince of pleasure, decadence, and unlimited self indulgence, as well as the patron of corrupt authorities and tyrants. So basically her biology as a descendant of the abyssal forces meant shenanigans happen around other incubi/succubi that would have to be taken into account but Haarlep didn’t know and she didn’t know that that would happen.

She’s super pissed about being knocked up (can’t have any consequence relatively free fun it seems) but she actually likes kids and is a protective mom. She has a really weird love-hate relationship with Raphael already (that I’ll probably go over in a future post) and this just complicates things even further.

Her weird biology is also the reason she survives the birth because I say so.

Kid actually turns out pretty ok given his circumstances. He’s probably teetering on the chaotic good/neutral end of things. She and Astarion are the ones who actually raise him ‘cuz I can’t see Haarlep caring all that much; random offspring are probably par for the course with devils, especially incubi and succubi.

Nym has an extreme hatred of her mother and complicated feelings around her own heritage so she’d be super protective over her son and not wanting any of that nonsense to affect him.

Doesn’t stop her from visiting Raphael (and Haarlep) frequently because again, a messy and complicated relationship and situation.

I headcanon his ears are bit longer than shown in the pic (though not as long as hers) and he has his mother’s floof tipped tail with hidden stinger. Does not get her cloven hooves though. Nym had been born with wings so he definitely gets wings too.

Astarion makes for a pretty good, if at times overly indulgent and chaotic, dad.

Born on the Zariman to parents [REDACTED] an Archimedien, and [REDACTED] a Dax in the High Guard, directly responsible for protecting and serving The Seven. Her conception was used as a pass to board the Zariman, with the promise that she would be raised as Dax upon birth.

Was friends with, or at least friendly with Rell and remembers him fondly; however as of now, she does not know of his fate in the Operator's timeline

Did not intend to kill own parents. Even though she had lured and locked both in a quarantine room to see if they'd come to their senses on their own, both were too far gone and ended up leaving her with no choice but to end their suffering after they attacked her whilst bringing them their rations.

Survived nearly a year alone on the Zariman after shaking [REDACTED] hand, scavenging daily for food and water before Duviri fully developed (loosing her mind just enough to create it)

Duviri:

The Operator being stabbed in their timeline resulted in Cass also feeling the sensation of it in Duviri. And while no blade cut through her, a scar was left behind nonetheless. A swirling mass of twisting voidmetal permeates over her chest and back, a reminder of how she broke free from Duviri's loop and the paradox she was now entwined with. The phantom sensation still haunts her, the feeling amplified by spending too long in the void or in Duviri

The New War:

After meeting Ordis and starting to make plans to save Natah/Marguls/Lotus and take down Narmer, Cass made it her mission to break into the Operator's quarters, desperate to find at least something to use as a bed since she was so tired of sleeping on the cold wet floor most nights. She did manage to get in eventually, much to Ordis' dismay, and found piles of floofs and blankets which she happily nested in and slept for a solid 21 hrs before getting to work

Stole a bolarolla floof to keep for herself

Not wanting to leave a child, her own child self, to finish a War on their own, Cass took it upon herself to save Natah/Margulis/Lotus

After Transferring into Arthur's head and being spat back out, Cass lost consciousness out from mix of pain/shock/disorientation when Arthur stabbed through her hand, leaving her lying in a heap with her Excalibur kneeling just as limp beside her. When Arthur went to go haul her back to the mall for questioning, the Excalibur frame reanimated itself and clambered in front of her, stopping him from touching her. It was the one who picked Cass up and carried her back to the mall, following Arthur along silently as he grilled it with questions about what was going on, what she was before once again going inert and unmoving once she was situated and restrained.

(Cont.) Later, when Arthur learns more about Transference and Warframes, he asks why her body didn't disappear when she took over the other Excalibur in order to carry herself back to the mall. Cass has no recollection of this and assumed Arthur had been the one to carry her; neither have answers to how it happened and nether want to know them.

Cass sees both Aoi and Eleanor as sisters, and Arthur as an older brother

She and Arthur spar on occasion, Cass shocking (and horrifying) him by how skilled and unafraid she is going up against a (proto)warframe with nothing but her squishy human body and a sword. "Its not like I haven't fought a warframe as myself before. I've done it all without a warframe or overpowered weapons and Kullevero still knew admit defeat"

More Angel lore for the people

Originally called Baby Angel since they were child stars. They wore costumes suited to their individual styles and each had a "signature" color (i.e. Maya was red, Stellaluna was pink, Audrey was black, Kamala was purple, Tsubaki was magenta, and Shauna was brown)

They went around the world performing in malls as their primary way of doing concerts

They used to be signed to Greater World Entertainment and a woman named Stacy Maughan as a whole until they released Fatality

Everything leading up to Fatality is too complicated to explain but to put it simply Stacy was doing shady stuff with the group's money and she was involved with corruption

During that time, they rebranded themselves as Angel and adopted a more adult image (mainly because they were college aged at this point)

Each member also began establishing a solo career outside the group in their respective genres

Everytime they attend an awards show, their outfits always have a theme for both the red carpet and performances

Angel is on the level of Spice Girls when it comes to fame and popularity

I just realized what bugs me abt the leaked Richter screenshot the most, and it's that he seems sickly, just too thin and pale compared to his other designs; and not even in a twink-ified way, with the way his face n muscles are shaded he looks starved. You could maybe add those visual elements during his corruption arc, but during RoB/DX he's supposed to be on his best and ready to destroy Dracula (but ofc that assumes anything from the games will be respected lol). Anyways give my poor man a good soup bowl he needs it

In my defense, I don't think that what I mentioned is the only reason for the tattoos, and that there's probably more to it, though in hindsight I didn't communicate that very well. There's definitely something more he hasn't admitted yet, specifically indicated by his and Tess's narrative hints.

I don't really subscribe to the theory that he fully became the Elemental Magus via soulshaping, though I think there is merit to the idea. Specifically that he was in need of more help than he's letting on. But it's heavily indicated that magical links can't be created where there were none, so if they can be opened or smn like that, it's because they were still there in the first place.

I'm less inclined to theorize that way for Erin now though, because of his high-capacity links. While he's almost certainly not telling the whole story, I really don't think he's lying. It also doesn't appear obvious that his tattoos are sealing ones, since no one else in the Floof Squad seemed to be aware that they were for sealing, so if he wanted to keep it a secret I think he would have passed it off as for some other form of magic usage, or as used for smn other than corruption risk (tho Red said a while back that sealing tattoos are rarely used so it's not certain people would even recognize it as such at a glace). In both cases, it's probably because the tattoos are a lot more intricate that what we see on Tarren, so their purpose isn't obvious to other mages (IIRC they were only ever theorized to be sealing tattoos until today's reveal).

There's also a possibility that it's not something most people would be ashamed of (especially since disability isn't nearly as looked down upon in Aurora as it is in the real world ❤️), but that Erin has personal reasons to keep it a secret (such as a traumatic event in correlation to it).

Jumping off the previous ask, if Erin has a connection to EVERY element, does that mean he just has a low-grade headache like all the time? 'Cause if so that would explain a lot.

I love how evenly split this is.

Anyway, design-wise, all of Catra's designs serve some kind of purpose, but let's weigh them objectively.

I really like this "younger teen" Catra who doesn't wear the headpiece yet. She was starting to develop a onesided rivalry with Adora but hadn't quite hardened into the character from the show.

Early seasons catra wears this goofy one piece that suits her role as a young force captain and cadet of the Horde. She's developing her own style, but isn't quite there yet.

What I love most about Early Catra's design is the hair. It is so spiky and fluffy and cute, and a lot of her cat traits still show off, despite her wearing the mask to look more intimidating.

I think accessories like the Crimson Wastes jacket do a lot of work in making the outfit have more of a colour balance and look less goofy, as well as show Catra's rebellious character.

Catra in season 4 has broken away from the Junior Cadet onesie and given herself this femme fatale villain appearance. Notably she has a black right arm sleeve, referencing both the crimson wastes style and Corrupted Catra.

Her hair is much smoother. She has removed the hair floofs as well. I think this appearance is great for her role as a villain, but despite making it more personal to herself, it is more generic as a character design. It looks older for sure but I prefer the spiky Catra hair. I do appreciate how much the mask suits this form though.

Catra's season 5 design loses the long hair and mask entirely, which I think were two definitive characteristics. This is clearly intentional of her transformation, and in a way it's because Prime stripped her of her identity. Now she is left getting it back.

I really enjoy her outfit changes. It looks plainer because the sleeve is gone but it brings back her cat stripes, and the orange colour pallette of her clothes, and her lopsided belt. Both Entrapta and designer Ray Geigar were very particular in making sure Catra's appearance was a combination of the old and new.

With regards to her face, while the long hair and mask is gone, there is a lot more fluff like in the original design.

Her appearance isn't anywhere close to as distinctive as early seasons Catra, but we know this is all Catra here. There is no Horde insignias, no junior cadet clothing, no Mask to hide her catlike cheek fluff, no covers for her stripes.

That's why I really appreciate the "grown up" catra we see in adora's vision for the future.

One of my pet peeves is that people think this is how Catra and friends will ALWAYS dress when they're adults, which is just wrong. This was a special occasion, a princess prom.

However I think Catra's style most likely resembles what she'd actually wear, besides maybe the gold stripes, and her hair being long and fluffy and tied up like this accentuates the best parts of all her designs. She looks strong and impressive, like with the mask, but wild and feral like without it.

I also enjoy she wears boots in this scene. I'm not sure if it'd be an every day thing for her, but the She-ra badge and white jacket means shes very proud to display Adora's colours, and the boots mean she feels very safe.
