Some romantical Bugsnax x Reader headcannon because I'm kinda bored and wanna feed one of my fandoms ( ˘ ³˘)♥ Not including Snorpy, Chandlo, Eggabell, Elizabert, Wambus or Triffany though because they're already happy and deserve monogamy for now- (but Wiggle and Gramble are being Poly)

You'll be referred to with genderneutral terms for all of these (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡

I might have a bias-

Filbo

He's probably the healthiest choice you can make but he's not without his own issues. Either you help him or you give him even more to worry about.

His top love languages are definitely quality time and gift giving, this man would give you anything to keep you happy.

He would never be able to protect you but he's more than happy to help patch you up and scold you for being reckless. He's just worried about losing you like he lost everyone else in the beginning.

You do help him find his voice and prove himself to the others but he makes sure to credit you for his efforts... A lot...

He probably wouldn't care much about how you wanna sleep. If you sleep alone, that's good. But he's open to sleeping together like a married couple if you ever want to.

This man gives THE BEST hugs. Not too strong or weak but just the right strength to hold you with and keep you grounded even in your darkest moments. (And he's more than happy to provide just that)

He's not the best at comfort but honestly, who is? He tries his best and offers you all sorts of things to try and cheer you up.

Floofty

Idk how you did it but congrats(or I'm sorry) about dating them. Whatever you did, they decided to give it a shot but they probably have the bar not that far up. Just- Keep going along with their experiments and you should be fine.

They're not very physical, love would be shown mostly through words or gifts but it's never anything wholesome or sweet, usually just something from one of their experiments.

And may mother Naturae help you if you try to talk them out of an experiment. It won't be easy and you might wanna grab Snorpy for back-up.

You can try to show them physical affection but they'd definitely just act nonchalant about it. They don't exactly care but they also find it a useless activity.

They might share their discoveries with you in excitement and ramble on and on about it. They'd probably love the feeling of having you listen and even better if you show genuine interest.

Gramble

He was a bit hesitant and wanted Wiggle with him when you all discussed how the relationship should start. Although he welcomes you with open arms considering how much you've helped him and the fact you're no risk to his buddies.

He definitely invites you and Wiggle to take care of his buddies and tells you both which Snax you'd be. He loves talking about his little buddies and teaching you both how to properly care for them.

He's a big hugger but he might even gift you and Wiggle a Snax to take care of. He's still a bit worried about Wiggle but glad once he finds the gifted Snax still alive.

He would absolutely make little armbands or even plushes of all three of you twice to make sure each of you has one plush of the others.

He'd probably like to cuddle at night a lot but you still have to wake him up when he sleepwalks. Not like he can control it but the cuddling might reduce the amount of times it happens.

He's definitely happy when you or Wiggle come to visit him without prompting.

Wiggle

She was ecstatic about a polycule but hesitated for Grambles' sake. She didn't want him to be uncomfortable.

Would definitely say "A Polycule! That inspires me for a new song!" at first.

She loves singing to Gramble and you all romantically but sometimes it comes without warning(and scares the surrounding Snax).

This woman would work with physical touch and gift giving as her love languages but there's never a warning because she loves surprising you and Gramble.

You and Gramble once surprised her with a handmade gift you worked on together and she keeps it displayed in her home proudly, no matter how it looks. (She might even make a song about it)

She goes to either you or Gramble whenever she needs to vent but she just wants to be listened to most of the time.

Beffica

Oh for the name of the mother- HOW??? Did she bribe you?? Blink twice if you need help-

She's such a drama freak, don't even try to defend her.

She definitely comes to you first about anything she finds. That doesn't mean you'd be safe though...

She's always trying to rope you into her trouble but she does apologize when she realizes she's gone too far(or if you threaten to leave her although that might not deter her as much).

She isn't one for gift giving or being all too physical but she does spend quality time with you and making sure you can talk all you want or stay quiet and let her talk.

Don't expect her to share the bed, she needs her space at night when she's not sneaking around.

Shelda

... I'm a little worried over your standards but at least it's not Cromdo.

She's gonna either convert you or let herself be normal around you.

Don't expect her to be into physical touch or gift giving. She will sit down with you for quality time and talking but that's as much as you're gonna get.

She's definitely more of a wine aunt but her religious teachings about mother Naturae are unavoidable in public.

You might have to coax her to get her to eat because she definitely has periods where she straight up refuses to eat anything and not even bother to act as though she's fasting. She just gets too into her act that she doesn't even realize she's starving.

You are NOT saving her unless you can convince her to look for a therapist and even then it'll be hard for obvious reasons...

Cromdo

... Why- Just why.

I don't usually judge but really? HIM???

He can be sweet and charming, sure, but he's still a con-man.

You aren't getting anything out of this besides maybe lowered prices and being able to shut him up more easily.

He is NOT winning against you, this man is afraid of incurring your wrath after the first time you guys fought.

If he does want to do something nice for you he might go to Filbo for advice since he's the only one who doesn't absolutely and openly despise Cromdo's guts.

He tries to be a better husband but it'd take a lot of patience and work to fix him...

A/N: HI HELLO! ITS THE BITCH WHO NEEDS A BETTER UPLOAD SCHEDULE. Thankfully, tomorrow is the last exam before break!!! And I’m gonna be on vacay the whole time so!! Lots of writing to be done! This blog is not dying anytime soon I swear on my heart.

Enough rambling. I really did enjoy writing this fanfic! I haven’t done a Floofty x Reader before, but I like to think while they’ve still got a few walls and that stubbornness…they can be open and emotional vulnerable around their parent. With that said, I hope they’ve been done justice!!

Floofty x Reader (Rest Up)

“It is 3 AM, why won’t you just go to bed?”

You watch Floofty’s tired, groggily body turn to face you, squinting like a hairless cat that had been out in the sun too long.

“I am,” they state, eyebags growing eyebags under their eyes,”Perfeeeeectly fine.”

“You’re slurring your words.”

“Irrelevant.” Floofty dimissies, waving you off. They turn back around, carefully typing while looking at the notes they took during their experiments.

You click your teeth. You loved Floofty, you really did. But you always had to be a bit concerned when they did things like this, burying themselves in their work and ignoring their mental and physical health.

“Floofty, when was the last time you even ate? Slept??” You questioned, almost like a demand.

That second of hesitation speaks volumes. “Everything,” Floofty finally answers, “-is fine.”

“Floofty.”

They avoid your eyes. “I just…I just need to finish these notes.”

“Floofty.”

“Just….” They yawned. They sighed, pushing their goggles up on their face. “…I have to do this.”

You don’t respond for a bi, letting the silence echo for a moment before sighing. You walk towards your partner and hold their paw up, gently holding it alongside your own. Floofty sighs, exhaustion in their town.

“…I just…it doesn’t feel like I’ve gotten anywjeee as of late.” They mumble. “My research is hitting a dead end, either due to my own inability to catch Bugsnax or lack of volunteers beside myself.”

“You’d know I’d help you in a heartbeat, right?”

Floofty huffs. “I don’t want to risk hurting you.”

“So you rather hurt yourself?”

They fall very quiet after that one. You nuzzle into their neck, feeling them purr softly.

“I promise to help you in someway.” You state. “But it’s late, love. Let’s go to bed.” You take a bit of pride in the bristle of their fur at the mention of the l-bomb.

“Y-you know I could care less for petnames…” They respone, a faint stutter in their voice. There’s no malice either. You’re finally able to pull the purple grumpus from their seat, taking off their bow tie and goggles.

“Was that so hard?” You ask teasingly.

“Shush.” They grumble, cozying up to you in the bed.

You giggle slightly, brushing their locs back just to kiss their forehead. “Love you, Floofty. Sleep well, ok?”

“Hmm…..Love you too.” It’s quiet, but that’s ok. Because it’s for your ears only. And so is the sound of their soft snores that drift you off to sleep right with them.

💜 One couldn't be blamed for their first impression of Floofty Fizzlebean being one that's incredibly cold and rude. Mostly due to the whole, "being incredibly cold and rude" thing they've got going on. At least at first. Hell, their first interaction with you ended with them slapping a gizmo in your hands, talking down at you as though you were a child, and then further adding onto the body horror nightmare you've found yourself entangled in. To say you weren't exactly Floofty's number one fan would be an understatement, and the same sentiment was shared by much of the rest of Snaxburg. But the other Grumpuses (and your journalistic integrity) depended on you and your help in finding Elizabert! And to do that, you needed every piece of the puzzle. Even if that piece happened to be incredibly snooty and sat on a rather high horse.

🧪 You had hoped that Floofty's behavior would improve as you spent more time together, but if anything, the scientist grew even ruder! They'd purposely bump into you, talk down to and insult you, pull you aside to demand you collect certain supplies or Bugsnax for their research! And when they weren't bothering you, they'd hole up in the ship at Boiling Bay to do… Whatever it is they do, not like they'd ever let you look. It'd be lying to say you hadn't thought of giving up on Floofty and leaving them to their own devices, but you could never bring yourself to actually do it. All of Snaxburg depended on you, and that included Floofty! … Even if you hadn't convinced them to move back just yet. And even if they don't come around, you can at least rest assured that you had remained the bigger Grumpus.

💜 Floofty eventually is convinced to move back into town, though part of you worried you might have somehow worsened the situation. The scientist now seemed to switch between pulling you closer and pushing you away. They'd ask for your assistance with their research, only to just as quickly turn up their nose at you and insist you'd only mess things up. Anytime you'd manage to have a civil conversation and manage to get somewhat chummy with them, it was as though a switch were flipped, as though Floofty were catching themself being nice to you and rectifying through arrogance. Hell, their behavior was so noticeable that Snorpy felt the need to confront them - all but having to when Floofty had nearly strong-armed you into almost chopping their head off.

🧪 But, the absolute worst thing, even above all that, was how you could feel Floofty's eyes boring into you. Just staring. Whether you were walking through town and talking with the others or running in from a snak run, you felt watched. And it wouldn't be a big deal because, hey, who doesn't people watch from time to time? Eyes are naturally drawn to movement and new stimuli! But, this was constant. A consistent pattern of behavior. And whenever you dared to face them, they wouldn't even flinch. No looking away or even pretending to be looking at someone else. Just them staring unblinking as you both locked eyes. You could swear you saw malice swirling in their eyes, glowering at you with what you were sure was contempt. And the icing on the cake? You had gone back down to Boiling Bay to fetch a snak for one of your friends, before deciding to sneak a peek inside Floofty's ship… All the air had left your lungs. Scratched over and over and over into the wood, on the floor, the walls, the ceiling, was your name. If you weren't so sure the rumor about Floofty being a killer was a lie, you would have sworn you were their next target.

💜 Before coming to Snaktooth, Floofty Fizzlebean had always been a bit of a recluse. Sure, they had family, their brother, some acquaintances and academic and professional peers, but ultimately nothing deeper than that. Likely in part due to coming across as unusual or rough around the edges. But also because they were a Grumpus that focused on the big picture rather than the small details. And, as such, they were derided for letting small details such as ethics fall to the wayside in pursuit of the greater good. Even on Snaktooth, their attempts at establishing connections between fellow professionals was impeded. Floofty was certain this was simply their fate, until you came along.

🧪 You frustrated Floofty just as much as you bewitched them. Though the scientist had thought little of you originally, Floofty was increasingly impressed by your intelligence, resourcefulness, skill, and adaptability - not to even mention your social intelligence. Deny it all you like, it took a rather special Grumpus to capture the hearts of so many in such little time. So many emotions whirled inside them it nearly made the Grumpus sick! Jealousy, affection, anger, fear, sadness, care. They wanted you close, but they were a danger to both you and themself! They knew you were intelligent but couldn't stand the thought of being seen as less than! They were charmed by your warmth and kindness but fumed at how you never stooped to their level! Why were you always so kind to them? Why did you care? Why wouldn't you just give up on them!? Just thinking about it made their heart beat out of sync and made them want to rip their hair out! You began to consume every waking thought. And even in their dreams, they weren't safe. They… They couldn't take their eyes off you, even going so far as to sneak into your hut at night. And when they weren't doing that, they'd go back to their makeshift hut to scrawl your name out over and over, hoping it'd quiet their mind, if only a little.

💜 You hadn't expected an invitation after you and the others fled the island. You'd all kept in contact, of course, but you weren't expecting anything coming up as of recent. Oddly, it was from Floofty, who'd been the most radio silent out of your friends - if they even considered themself your friend? Despite all you'd been through, you were happy to see the Grumpus was doing well! All smiles in photos and a new prosthetic to boot! They had gone back into teaching and was inviting you down to report on the findings from Snaktooth. Reading the letter, a warmth filled you and you couldn't help but hug the letter to your chest, smiling at knowing that Floofty had thought of you so well as to invite you to speak to their students!

🧪 Despite your initial nervousness at meeting them again, it went off without a hitch! You exchanged pleasantries and caught up with one another before going over their plan for the lecture. Throughout your meeting and the lesson, you couldn't help but feel proud at how far Floofty had come. They seemed so much more understanding and patient. Andfar more lighthearted, too! So much so that they even invited you back to their house to talk further, pouring you up a drink as you sat together. You couldn't get over how relaxed they seemed. And you were feeling relaxed, yourself. Relaxed… Or, wait, was it… Were you just tired? It was a bit hard to keep your head up or your eyes open. As you mumbled apologies, you let your head fall back against the cushion of your chair. Barely able to keep your eyes open, you felt as Floofty got up and approached your side. One of their paws overlapped with your own, giving a gentle squeeze. And as you fell into a deep sleep, Floofty pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head and sighed. "As glad as I am to be able to make up for my previous behavior, I fear you're simply far too trusting for your own good, dear..."

- when you first came to the island it took a long long time for Floofty to notice they liked you, whether it be they were to busy to notice, or just didn't pay it the time.

-when they do notice they become cocky and start asking for your help more, when you do help them they share unnecessary details and try yo keep you around for as long as possible with you getting suspicious

-definitely asexual(this is a personal headcanon but let's be fr)

-when floofty confesses they definitely are really awkward, but not nervous, they believe you'll def say yes because they 100% found the odds and percentages of you liking them back high. Plus they've got an ego.

- once you start dating its not physical for a long time, just simple hellos, or hand shakes when seeing eachother,

-when floofty does get comfortable they start out with hugs and giving gifts, they don't know what you're comfortable with and having never had a partner before they don't know what they're ok with either, and that's okay!

-floofty eventually likes to give you kisses in a private setting as they personally don't like PDA. They find it "unethical and unnecessary" unless someone's hitting on their partner? But even then they believe words do best.

-nick names consist of: darling, dear, and just your first or last name!

-they like hugs, they also appreciate confirmation.

Floofty

Similarly to how they view dancing, they don't see much point in stargazing

At least not at first

They grow to like it, it's a nice break from their work and it gives them a chance to feel closer with you.

They will go into the history of how ancient grumpuses used to navigate with the stars, or certain constellations and their myths

If you try and get them to wish on a shooting star they're going to call it pointless because it's just a a rock hurdling through the universe that you happened to see. Secretly they do make a wish though.

"And, as the story goes, the gods decided he should be immortalized among the stars. It's a bit dramatic for my taste, personally I think Orileon they could have left it with all the plays and poems written for him. That is if any of it is real." They finished up a long ramble about the myth of an ancient hero just as you finished setting up. You spread out a nice blanket and set out a basket of non bug related food. You sit cross-legged and wait for them to join, it takes a bit longer to find a comfortable position due to the missing limb.

"Even if it's not, you are a great story teller." They smile at you as they settle down.

"I was quite fascinated with astronomy as a child. Snorpington was as well. I grew out of it eventually, but I remember quite a bit." You turned your gaze back up to the sky, leaning your head up on Floofty's shoulder. They clear their throat, trying not to get flustered.

A new group of stars caught your eye. You point over to it.

"Is that a constellation?" They adjust their glasses.

"Ah, yes. Good eye. That is Euridesmos and Orphenom. You may have heard of them before, a very famous love story..."

Beffica

She is taking pictures the whole time. Cool stars? Got em. Nice candid shot of you. You bet. Blurry picture of some snax trying to steal your food. Most definitely

But seriously when she isn't pointing her camera everywhere she likes laying her head on you lap and looking up at the sky.

Play with her hair? Play with her hair.

She feels like she can actually relax around you. Jokes that you're ruining her cool reputation but she honestly doesn't care. You could be the dorkiest squeeb out there but she loves you dang it

Will totally wish on shooting stars, but be all secrety and smug cause 'if you say it out loud it won't come true'

"I can't believe that hunnabee stole a noodle. Can those things even eat?" You stared back and forth between Beffica, who was readjusting her camera from getting a shot, back to the plate of spaghetti next to you that was just robbed.

"I mean, they make noises, but I don't see a mouth. Maybe it's building a nest?" She suggests. Setting her camera down carefully, she scoots closer to you and lays across your legs. Like clockwork you begin threading you fingers through her hair, giggling quietly at her little purrs.

"Doesn't seem like a good building material to me. Guess I just don't understand the mind of a snack." She smacks your arm lightly with her paw, but is smiling anyway. You both look up to the night sky, beautiful stars and a full moon shining down.

"Would you still love me if I were a snack?" She asks, which makes you laugh again.

"Of course babe... unless you were a fryder. Too many legs for my liking."

If Floofty grew feelings for you (which probably won't happen) they won't show that they do, instead, they'd just ask for your assistance a lot more frequently

It wouldn't be "love at first sight", it would be.. "their limbic system expanding the hypothalamus and nucleus accumbens the moment they laid their corna covered oculus' on your monstrously charming face"

At the beginning, they would be disgusted at the idea of being interested in another living thing, their science comes first before any emotional connections However.. they just fell deeper.. and deeper.. And there was no turning back.

They'd be very possessive and would constantly demand you stand right next to them at all times, or at least somewhere they can clearly see you

They would keep you out of harm's way, even if it's for the sake of science And if you show a dislike for them testing on themselves, they'll step away from the dangerous experiments and avoid experiments that involve a grumpus to test

They have no immediate reaction to you conversing with another grumpus, they would try to get you to come with them while side eyeing the other grumpus If you disagree, they'll start to suspect something is awry

If they notice you spending time with a specific grumpus for long periods of time and cutting time with them to hang out with the grumpus, they'll quickly become threatened by the other grumpus and see them as a liability

They don't immediately kill them, that would be a waste, they would rather.. erase them

When focused on the grumpus, you will see more emotion in Floofty - they will smile at you when they see you and occasionally give you compliments

Once they have everything planned, they take the grumpus somewhere to "have a talk" with them This is their favorite part, they can finally have a test subject to experiment on..

If you choose to be by yourself or spend time with someone else, Floofty will respect your decision and watch you move from the microchip they implanted into you

They're very judgy with who you choose to be around, but as long as they don't hurt you or attempt a relationship with you, they'll allow you to speak to them

While always being stone faced, they will break from that mold if you are hurt or noticeably distressed They aren't good with emotions, but they try to understand so they can comfort you

They'll purposefully kill a grumpus if they have to.. Any grumpus that tries to or has hurt you is immediately on their "No Mercy" list

When discovering their obsession for you.. they thought it could be something they can study and manipulate to their will..

Everyday they would visit you with a tiny trinket or something you had shown interest in

If you confront Floofty about your missing friends, they'll try to keep you oblivious and suggest they simply moved away, no other reason

You would have to be the one to ask Floofty out, they.. would have trouble doing it and bail last minute They won't know how to react at first but they'll be happy and kiss you

As a couple, they would insist on being by your side for anything and everything, falling in love with you all over again

If you try to leave them, well.. They won't go down without a fight.

You can call me Mod Buddy, and I’m the single owner and runner of this account! I’ve made this blog for all the Grumpus kissers who are just a tad too afraid or unable to make their own content, as a bit of a self-shipper myself.

I do platonic and romantic scenarios, with all characters! Filbo, Floofty, Gramble, Alegander (because let’s be honest, he is kinda…), hell even Shelda, Clumby or Cromdo! Best (personally) would be Snorpy because. He's. 🥰

Best in general? Likely Filbo! If he can play his cards right, you won't even notice his more obsessive feelings toward you and your relationship will develop naturally. If not, Filbo will use his mayoral privileges to keep you all to himself and ensure that you're spoiled for the rest of your days.

Worst? Tie between Floofty and Gramble.

Floofty, solely because they're rather mean, at first. It takes quite a while for them to come to terms with their feelings for you (and even longer for them to stop blaming you for it.) Post-Snaktooth, though, they're more easy-going and much more openly romantic toward you.

Gramble because his plan is to simply tie you up and trap you in Sprout's play area at the beach to keep you away from the others and all to himself... You're now completely isolated and dependent on the grumpus. It also helps to make sure no one hears you cries for help, too, heh. Oh, please don't be mad! This is for the best! He's just trying to protect you.
