Marvin was certain that nothing and no one in the world could cause such strong feelings within him. Even though it was just a kiss, it made it seem like Marvin's whole world was spinning in the best possible way. The mage couldn't get enough, it was exhilarating!

When they finally pulled away and reality began to settle once more, it dawned on Marvin that he had absolutely no idea what exactly he was feeling. It was nothing bad, of course, but he had never been taught about love or seen it growing up, so he was entirely in the dark in that department. Of course, he knew that romantic couples kissed among other things but this was a first for him.

Was this love he was feeling? All this time he believed it was just strong feelings of friendship, like a bond he didn't have with anyone else because of his history with Jackie. But in retrospect, he didn't have these flutterh sensations around any of the others back home. He didn't really crave their presence the same way, or sometimes yearn for an embrace...

It was all so conflicting and Marvin had never even given his feelings a second thought before this very moment. It was a lot to process.

Suddenly, Marvin heard the sound of multiple text messages coming through on his phone. It snapped him out of the moment, forcing him to reach for the device and look down to see a few messages telling them dinner was just about ready.

"O-Oh, crap... we're gonna be late for dinner," he announced.

It had been a long day of patrol, both Marvin and Jackie having had some long fights that took a decent amount of energy. It felt like it was almost nonstop that day, despite most of the fights not being too difficult. If they had been alone they surely would've been trickier but that was the beauty of having a partner.

It was nearing sunset, the two starting to feel their day but in a good way. Not to mention it was getting close to dinner time as well, giving them a little chance to cool off and relax before having to return home. Though, before they did, Jackie stated that he had something he wanted to show Marvin. The duo was gently going through the skies, on their way to this location Jackie had in mind.

While Marvin and Jackie had quite the history together, their friendship had blossomed in ways that no one ever could've predicted. If anything, Marvin believed that the hero was the one who truly saved him without even knowing it. Even when he was still with the BMM, Jackie looked out for the mage in his own way. Now, fighting crime together, Marvin's feelings of gratefulness and friendship towards Jackie were also beginning to blossom into something he'd never experienced before.
