Drentha South (aka, me, Alric, and Violet) spent Saturday painting shields, polishing knives, and mocking the hilaribad show “Robin of Sherwood.” I love hanging out with my crew, even if it’s just on the floor of my living room. <3

I’ve been working on a Landsknect kit for my kender-character, Ilsa. I made this stupid hat for Hearthlight’s Siege of the Azure Castle, so every photo of me from this event is me grinning like mad because I’m so pleased with it. :D It actually lasted throughout a whole day of fighting in the field and woods! At the end of the day, during the ladies’ tournament, Aella Greywolf flicked it off my head, and you could HEAR the crowd go “ooooh.” Photo 1 by Tungsten. Photo 2 (and alphabet magnets, which she stuck to my armor) by Mariner. Thanks, friends!

Got to have some excellent [foam] longsword duels with someone that I look up to, and while I'm still editing and uploading the footage, I think this was my favorite exchange.
Thank you Harbringer Daji for the fights and Scritta for taping us!

And here we go
Lots of stuff going on.
So the Shire this past Sunday went to Caradoc Hold (Rochester) for a field. First off, I firmly believe that you will only get better at something if you go to other places that do the same thing as you. So I expect good things from the Annwyn group :) I digress, from tournaments to traveling it has been a long week. The fighters in Caradoc were very good and honorable to boot. It was great fighting them when we did non class battle. I was in my element and did rather well. The speed of the fighting was something I had to adjust to slightly. I started out sword and boarding and then moved to spearing. The lightness of the weapons made it very easy for me to maneuver right past the shields and into the guts of my enemies. Lot's of kills. It was also good to see the younger Annwyn kids get in there and fight. So we fight a bunch of "no class" battles and then we moved to the woods for a CTF game.
The CTF game was with our class that we picked and holy crap magic users. The entirety of the game shifts when there are magi users involved and class abilities are active. The whole dynamic shifts and tactics are a huge must have. For example a level one warrior doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell storming another team's base when there are two wizards and a bard stopping you from completing your objective. It was good having my interpreter KC though to translate what was happening when a guy 100 ft away was pointing at me and yelling. Once again I will comment on the amount of yelling. The beginning of each round was an extreme slur of sentences form your magic users to give you the necessary buffs to go forth and conquer the world with. I was given an imbued weapon to make it easier to kill things while others were given protection from magic and so on. There was an anti magic field and various other things to keep the teams at bay. I mostly stuck with two berserked barbarians moving up the left side to meet up with two more berserked barbarians being backed up by a wizard. Beyond the various hexings and immovability I was subjected to I rather enjoyed the change of pace from the intensity of Dagorhir plus I got a garbage plate so the entire day was topped off and then to make it extra cool I re met some cross gamers that I had seen at Father Christmas. More to come soon and there will be pictures I promise.

SHE IZ NEARING COMPLETION!!! Took me three tries to actually get this down. Plus on top of that. These are my straight cuts also their not frayed. Currently it balances right above the handle. However, when I add the stabbing tip and the pommel. Oh also the cloth cover. If anything this should let anyone who wants to build anything. You can do it! It takes time and a lot of tries. You just have to find the right time or whatever it is for you to get into it. Mine is somewhere between 12am till 3am.
