Introduce yourself Hi, I'm Puppysloth! I'm a budding witch and growing artist. I love drawing things that are disgustingly cute, but am trying to branch out into more projects that can help me expand my portfolio. I love plants, animals, and nature! I currently work as IT support full time, but I would love to one day do art as a career so, I'm excited to be part of this zine! When did you start drawing? Are you a digital or traditional artist? I started drawing in middle school, but didn't get serious about my art until about 2009. I started with traditional art but now do both traditional and digital work.  Which mediums are your favorites? Did you try going digital? I love using watercolor! Its my absolute favorite for funnest and most portable medium. I also enjoy making oil paintings, but can't do those as often as they require a lot of time and set up. Oh! I also dabble in alcohol markers sometimes. They're as much fun as watercolors, but not nearly as portable.  I also do digital work and will sometimes mix both traditional and digital.
Why do you prefer traditional over digital? (or viceversa) I find them both equally as fun and useful! I can get a dreamier quality from my traditional work, but have access to more colors and editing digitally. I also only have access to digital at home, so that limits the amount of time I can use it. What do you think is the most challenging part about being a traditional/digital artist? Traditional art can be challenging because it doesn't offer as much flexibility as digital, but digital can be restrictive in needing electronics to do work. Traditional offers the ability to create at any time or place so long as you have something to draw with and on.  What inspires your pieces? Many things! Cartoons, beautiful artwork and photography, animals, nature, and color!

image source: [X]   Explain your "everyday" drawing process First I get the idea, then I thumbnail a few different ways to approach that idea. I then find appropriate references, which can change the idea and composition mid way, and then I start compiling and working! Do you have an artist you admire (or more than one)?
While there are a large number of deceased artists I love (Mucha, Turner, Friedrich), I would love to provide some living artists as inspiration as well! http://www.jamesjean.com/ https://www.jawcooper.com/   https://www.stinapersson.com/   https://twitter.com/hellocutecumber   https://twitter.com/_oceaninspace https://twitter.com/whispwill   https://twitter.com/numericalorders   https://twitter.com/delfidae https://twitter.com/MangopoptartART
Is there an artwork you are most proud of? Why? Anything that I actually finish! I have a serious problem with starting and never finishing unless there's a looming deadline.
Do you listen to music (or tv shows/films/anything else) when drawing? Music! I find shows to distracting. I've been listening to a lot of AllieX radio. I also love Mariana and the Diamonds, Florence and the Machine, and Bad Seed Rising. My music tastes are seriously all over the place and can go from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu to Straight Line Stitch without blinking.

What do you do when art block strikes? I would love to say I push through it, but honestly I just watch anime and eat chocolate. What’s the most valuable art advice you’ve ever received?
Keep drawing! Never stop! Draw everything! also, use references.
