Starlight Glimmer had accompanied Trixie to a Washouts performance. She found it underwhelming, and honestly was more interested in how this show was allowed to happen unregulated than any of the tricks. Feeling nosy, Starlight sneaks back stage and strikes up conversation with one of the Washouts.

Lightning Dust was…charming? Alarmingly charming. Starlight was quickly smitten and Lightning asks her out. The two date on and off for a couple months…until Starlight gets pregnant. When she tells Lightning Dust, Lightning Dust is quick to break up with her. Starlight is left to raise her twins, Candlelight Cinders (she/her) and Skylight Smoke (they/them). While she does have help from friends and her father, she can’t deny that she still feels a bit lonely at times.

A couple years later, Starlight is in Canterlot helping Princess Twilight Sparkle with a diplomatic mission. After a successful negotiation between the griffins and dragons, the two head to Donut Joe’s bakery for a celebratory treat. Joe forms a crush on her, and he and Starlight maintain a long distance relationship via letters. She occasionally sees him when she’s in Canterlot, and for a moment it looks like life is looking up.

When she gets pregnant again, Starlight and her twins move to Canterlot so her third child could be close to his father, with Trixie taking over her position as vice principal at Twilight’s school. The third and final kiddo, Cardamom Morning Bun (he/him), is raised by both his parents. While Starlight and Donut Joe never formally marry or move in together, the two stayed together for the sake of Cardamom. Starlight works as a private tutor, though the stress of a new job and new city takes a toll on her and Donut Joe’s relationship. The two break up, but vow to get along for the sake of their son.

Candlelight Cinders (queer, she/her) | 24 years old

- Special talent is crystal magic

- Calm, collected, introspective. Great at solving problems and settling disagreement

- Very nosy, involves herself in drama that she probably shouldn’t

- Runs a store in Canterlot that sells crystals, tarot cards, etc.

Skylight Smoke (graysexual, they/them) | 24 years old

- Special talent is making stained glass windows

- Loud, boisterous, a party animal. They sleep at odd hours and has started at least one bar fight lol

- Because of how delicate the material is, stained glass making is the one the things that helps calm them down.

- A member of Grasshopper’s roller derby team

Cardamom Morning Bun (straight, he/him) | 21 years old

- Special talent is luck magic

- Intelligent and reserved, more or less a stereotypical nerd

- Was accepted into Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, but was relentlessly teased for his father being lower class.

- Decorates desserts to relax, he’s not the best at it but he’s happy with it.

What was Almond Blossom's most embarassing failure? Has her anxiety negatively impacted anyone in her life?

Almond has been my like…OC hyperfixation at the moment, tysm for this question <3

Her most embarrassing failure is relatively small, but it’s one of those things that keeps her up at night. One of her first jobs was an art instructor and while helping a foal, she accidentally spilled some paint and ended up ruining the piece. Since then, she’s been extremely meticulous and makes sure everything is closed tight to avoid more mess.

Growing up, Allie struggles taking constructive criticism and rejection. So in the few moments she got in trouble with her mother or got a bad grade, it was the end of the world for her and it would trigger an anxiety attack. Her friends and family would be as nice as possible when critiquing or pointing out her failure, but she’d still end up spiraling into anxiety.

This made some ponies feel like they had to walk on eggshells around her, which validated Allie’s existing anxieties about being rejected. Her friends and family have stuck by her over the years, she’s grateful for the support system she has. Additionally, I think critiques in her art classes are the thing that help her accept the fact that it’s okay to not be perfect and that she’s going to fuck up.

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle had been close friends for years, so it was no surprise when the two ended up a couple. It just took awhile for the two to admit their feelings. The couple quickly settled down and had a pair of twins, Fortissimo Flashbang (he/him) and Pianissimo Promenade (she/her).

Sweetie Belle’s polyamorous, so she dated others outside of her marriage, which Scootaloo was perfectly fine with. As long as Sweetie was happy, Scoots was happy! Terramar, who happened to be an old friend of Scootaloo, ended up joining their little family unit. About three years after the twins were born, Sweetie Belle and Terramar welcomed their daughter, Oasis Chimes (she/her).

Sweetie is happy with both her partners and kids. They’re her whole world.

Fortissimo Flashbang (asexual biromantic, he/him) | 13 years old

- Special talent is fire magic

- Energetic, loyal, brash. He’s not the type to be bossed around, but his defiant nature can be troublesome

- Going through an edgy phase…Sweetie Belle and Terramar are just hoping he just grows out of it. Scootaloo is chill with it.

- Is at least 50% snark /j

Pianissimo Promenade (acearo, she/her) | 13 years old

- Special talent is writing detective fiction

- Big bookworm, wants to be a published author some day

- Extremely charismatic and friendly, but sometimes she talks for too long

- Despite their contrasting personalities, Piano and Forte are close.

Oasis Chimes (Questioning, she/her) | 10 years old

- Special talent is music therapy (undiscovered)

- A massive worrywart unlike her siblings

- Extremely shy and tends to make herself quiet and unassuming

- Struggles with her dual hippogriff/pony heritage and feels pressured to have to choose between two worlds, especially having grown up in Ponyville and not Hippogriffia

How can Nacre use her talent to help her future subjects and how will she handle control of the Sun as a pegasus?

Nacre’s talent is water magic, it’s sort of like an variation of pegasus magic (being able to manipulate clouds) that extends to larger bodies of water as well. She often uses her talent to help water plants and save ponies from drought.

Festive Fairy Floss’ weather magic is similar in that it’s a stronger version of pegasus magic, but besides the clouds, she can also manipulate things like the temperature and precipitation.

Nacre’s the heir to the position of ruler of Equestria (Celestia and Luna don’t retire in this universe), NOT the heir to being the Princess of the Sun. She’s still set to rule Equestria with her cousins and the other royals, but she won’t take over sun raising duties. Instead, I think her future will have her become the Princess of the Tides or something similar.

Have any of Peach's siblings reacted negatively to her over protectiveness?

Peach Punch’s half-siblings are all adults, so they don’t really mind her overprotective nature and brush off any attempts of her trying to protect them as her just being a kid. If anything, they find it more amusing.

Leap Frog is a different story. Despite being a year older than her, they’re more timid than Peachy. She’s more or less unofficially Leap’s guardian from any bullies. Which would be nice if Leap was actually being bullied.

He’s just an introvert. Leap isn’t being purposefully excluded. They just like being alone with a book or watching the animals during recess.

Peach frequently nags other foals for supposedly leaving her brother out. It embarrasses Leap, and the two siblings have gotten into many arguments about it. Fluttershy insists that Peach has good intentions and that Leap needs somepony to look out for him. Cheerilee on the other hand, has told Peach to give Leap their space.

Fun fact dump about Almond Blossoms just because I can and I love her and I’ve been thinking about her!

Out of universe, she’s named after a Van Gogh painting series of the same name, with her mane colors loosely being inspired by the 1890 painting.

She has four mice named Sandro, Claude, Sal, and Andy. Allie calls them “her boys.” Their names are references to famous irl artists (Botticelli, Monet, Dalí, and Warhol respectively).

Allie met her boyfriend at a botanical garden.

Besides working as an art therapist, she also works as an artist for hire, with her specialty being botanical illustrations and landscapes.

She’s good friends with Permafrost as both are involved in the art industry and their parents are friends.

The color of her hooves and bows are from her grandmother’s eye color.

I’ve mentioned how she has anxiety but I can also see Allie having at least one other form of neurodivergence (maybe ADHD?).

She’s the oldest of all the Shy cousins.

If she were a human, her name would be Aliya. She’d be mixed Pakistani and Scottish.

How much kinship does Leap feel towards the animals he'll eventually come to work with? Does his talent stop their awkwardness when he discusses it?

With most frogs being solitary creatures, Leap relates to frogs wanting to be alone. Whenever they have a bad day, they’ll sit by the pond and watch the frogs hop around.

Leap’s hyperfixation is amphibians and expresses interest in the creatures, often rambling about them and soaking up any bit of information he learns. Fluttershy and Cheerilee wouldn’t be surprised if his special talent related to amphibians

Leap hasn’t yet realized that their talent is specifically taking care of amphibians. Hopefully they’ll discover it soon!

Does Rocket ever hide the depth of his intelligence considering his engineering skill, did he discover his love of music because of the level of bossing around that would come with pursuing a degree in that subject? (the demand of grade,etc.)

He’s never hidden how smart he is, but he doesn’t outwardly brag about it. I’d imagine others jump to the conclusion of him being stupid because of the fact that he’s kind of a dick and his job of being a simple handyman (handy pony??), not something big and prestigious.

Rocket’s been written off as a troublemaker because of his attitude, which does force him to be very demanding about being taken seriously. He knows he can be a bit abrasive at times, and has learned that not every situation needs his snarky attitude all the time. But he knows how to get shit done and works just has hard as anypony else.

Rocket’s always been a music lover (since Pinkie Pie’s his aunt and his mother’s EqG counterpart plays electric guitar, perhaps musical talent runs in the family?). As a kid he was a bit bummed that his special talent ended up being something “nerdy” like engineering and not music. But as an adult, Rocket gets the best of both worlds now!
