in 1702 Frank’s in a Coma there’s that scene at the gala before Charlie, Mac, and Dennis go talk to the business guys. Mac asks “who are we playing?” and Dennis, the guy who has spent 16 seasons playing characters, wearing another man’s skin, and most recently, suppressing his instincts, replies, “We’ll just be ourselves” in one of the most earnest voices i’ve ever heard.

Dennis Takes a Mental Health Day fucked him up because what?? Why else the change of heart? He’s tired of pretending. I’m so excited for the rest of this season.

i really don’t think Frank Is In A Coma will be the emotional episode… i think Dee is going to go through the 5 stages of grief in the most comical, cartoonish way possible (like when she gets stockholm syndrome because she thinks she’s supposed to, not because she actually has it). they probably had “5 stages of grief” written on a card and are using this episode to give her the silliest, fastest denial-anger-bargaining-depression-acceptance run anyone has ever seen. personally very excited for the “anger” bit in particular!

And yes if I said the "Is it Cake?" thing is deeper meta for the *whole* season to come because things (the gang, and the people they try to follow in this ep) aren't always what they seem on the surface, you never know what layers they may be hiding, what then?
