❛ The battle cry sort of gave you away. Try not to yell next time. ❜ { Evie }
sentence prompts ➝ the vampire academy
Finally her lessons were moving forward from the basics. Today’s session would heavily focus on defensive spells and how to properly wield them. While Evie still wasn’t terribly excited, this was the sort of magic she’d been waiting on, and she was nothing if not determined to master it. Her sister’s life might very well depend on it, after all.
As Bonnie explains the importance of surprise attacks, Evie mentally prepares herself to take on her opponent. In this scenario, it was Seph she’d be going against.
When she was left to her own devices, Evie conjures up everything she had learned; pulling her strength from nature as she lets out a loud battle cry and shoots her arms out toward Seph. Her own power, however, fizzled as she was quickly thrust backward by a stronger one. Toppling over the couch, she was left on the floor feeling incredibly disoriented by whatever the hell had just happened.
“Okay. Where did I go wrong there? I thought I had that,” Evie asks, still a bit stunned from the blast of power. Bonnie moves to help her up, though she could tell the other witch was fighting laughter.
❛ The battle cry sort of gave you away. Try not to yell next time. ❜ Seph informs her.
Well, that made sense. Maybe she had gotten a little into her training there. “Yeah. The whole point of a surprise attack is that it’s a surprise,” Bonnie pitches in with an amused smile.
Steadying herself back on her feet, she listens to both their criticisms as she dusts herself off. “Alright. Let’s try that again, shall we?”
