it seemed as if every square foot of the sprawling dubois property was filled with people, and isla wouldn't have had it any other way. her birthday was always an event; her parents made sure that their youngest and only daughter was nothing short of doted on on her day. though, as she hit adulthood, that 'doting' turned into all out event planning (complete with catering, live music, and buckets of expensive champagne).

the new necklace the dubois had given her shone like a beacon amongst the sea of people as she made her way through. as she walked past, a few of her friends shot off some confetti poppers, pulling out a squeal of surprise from her glitter-flecked lips.

a perfectly manicured hand rested on the person she almost ran into, steadying herself the best she could with the liquor flowing through her. "I'm so sorry!" her voice a little horse from the endless hours of talking. "are you okay? can I get you another drink?" her eyes glancing down at the small puddle of his drink that had spilled during the collision.

With Rhia sound asleep in her carrier that was hanging from one of Elijah's arms, he locked the car behind him in Atlas' driveway and let Alex lead the way up to the front door. Since Aslihan was busy with her parents for the day, the man offered to drop the little girl off at her father's for the weekend — not only because it was a nice thing to do, but because it gave him a perfect excuse to see his friend, whom he hadn't been able to find much time to hang out with recently thanks to all of the newborn stress. "Alright, bug, you gotta press the button and let your Baba know we're here. Only once though 'cause your sister might be sleeping inside," he told her, watching as she stood on her tippytoes to ring the doorbell. In the time that it took for the door to open, he slid Alex's backpack off of his shoulder and handed it to her. "Hey, man," he greeted Atlas, grinning. "Special delivery — she's been proper excited to see you."

Y'all ever think of how cybertronians could fit comfortably into a Jaeger's conn-pod or is that just a me thing?

I watched pacific rim and pacific rim the black a while back and yk couldn't stop thinking about how TINY cybertronians are compared to those beasts (esp when there's vehicles for size comparison haha) so ofc I, in my mecha au induced brainrot, couldn't do anything else but think of how the mecha au would work if the mechas were jaeger sized

"Damn, I need to be more like you." Elijah always had a habit of leaving gifts, which was arguably one of the most important parts about the holiday season, to sort out at the last minute. Every year without fail, he was browsing the stores and dealing with the crowds in order to find the things he needed. Maybe this year he could hold out hope that it would be different, following in Atlas' footsteps and buying presents sooner. A soft laugh leaving his lips, he shook his head. "If only it were that simple, huh? Believe me, I would if I could. I don't think I'll ever be ready for the walking, or the talking, or . . . anything, really. I'm sure it's been just as crazy with you and Maggie, hasn't it?"

He had a few gifts picked out for everyone in his life already, but a few gifts never seemed like enough. In the past, money had been an issue, but between his overpaid job and luxury of having another income under his roof, his possibilities now seemed endless. "I've been getting presents for a couple of weeks now. Figured if I can get ahead in any department, might as well start somewhere." For the day, he was only looking for himself, and if possible, for the man at his side. After all, what was a better gift than music to a man like Elijah? Despite missing those times with Alex, he'd at least gotten the chance to relive them via recordings. It was the closest he'd ever get to those memories being his own, but he beamed with happiness as the other shared his own baby experiences. "You never know how quickly time passes until you blink that they're walking. So, my advice? Never blink."

Ghost-Mother takes a look into Zuko's soul in For the Spirits Chapter IX: A Rider Alone.
