Going to be rambling insanely about Ghost and probably what his feelings on the monarchy would be, coming from one deeply damaged povo to another.

Anyway, specifically around the time the parasite in chief in her idiot hat (thanks Eccleston lub u) died and passed said idiot hat on, I was seeing a lot of (fun and gentle-ribbing, mind you!) posts about Ghost getting razzed about the queen croaking and maybe him being sad about it or something - I don’t really remember bc I have shit for brains and I just latch onto what bits my adhd will allow.

SO. I really don’t think Bruv Innit gave two shits about Liz buying the farm, bc he grew up working class in a working class town to a drug addicted, drug peddling dad, and a fairly nondescript mom who likely didn’t have a way to get her and her kids out of that shit situation (per ‘09 MW lore and some presumption). I imagine dude was dragged around a shitload of council estates and his dad’s friends’ shitty crash pads, no stability whatsoever, where food insecurity was a big ass forever-looming deal, mom had no idea if her 20 year old vauxhall was going to make it another trip to her minimum wage part time job, and school was forever on the back burner bc when it came to school supplies/trips vs eating and keeping the lights on. You can guess which one won.

If we’re also going with him being about 35-40ish, he would’ve been 10-12ish or so around Diana’s divorce and then her death. So, here’s this starving, horrendously abused kid, with his starving, horrendously abused mother and little brother, drowning in a system that is pretty much just letting them sink to the bottom, nothing is being done about the evil sperm donor that ruins everything for them, and he’s obliterated constantly by TV coverage and tabloids and radio DJs talking about this goddamned family’s stupid fucking drama. Charles cheated, Diana left, her poor boys in their fancy private schools with their endless wealth and glowing skin and brand new clothes that don’t stink of consignment shops are sad.

Sorrows - sorrows, prayers. 🫶

It’s a story he’s seen countless times, the only difference is money and coverage. And, realistically, the women in the stories he knows aren’t killed in car wrecks, they’re killed by their infuriated husbands who think they’re owed something catching up. Maybe that’s why his mom doesn’t leave the cocksucker that trapped her, she could’ve ended up another council house Diana that no one gave a shit about.

He grows up, becomes a butcher’s apprentice, joins the army. Straightens his brother out, makes sure his mom is set up nice, finally beats the shit out of his dad. And all the while, there looms the most fucking pointless, parasitic family in England: living off taxes taken from the public, god knows how much land and how many castles, even owning all the fucking swans on the island.

Relics, vampires, leeches.

But, you know, twenty years down the road, he’s pushing 40, his services to the country are done in the dark, the family he tried so badly to save were brutally cut down anyway, and when he goes to Tesco, the price of a fifth of piss Smirnoff is insane, and he’s still got Soap swimming in his head mid-rant bc his mam’s fucking knee replacement appeal has been denied for the third time and she can’t even walk anymore, Gaz is moving for the second time in a year bc he just can’t afford to live close to his parents even on his salary, meanwhile there was a stretch where it looked like Philip was surviving solely by being pumped full of virgin blood and straight stem cells.

So, yeah, if anything he probably said cheers when the news broke and cracked a couple extra jokes that day.

@fullauto-armsnotaigns I prefer not to tack these things on to other people's posts, so I will reply this way. If anyone is curious, this is in response to this reblog. The original post is not saying white people don't experience hardships or automatically have "easy" lives. It is saying that, if everything else about you was the same but you had been born black, those hardships would be compounded by racism. For example, disability = bad situation. The same level of disability + racism = worse situation. Poverty = bad situation. The same level of poverty + racism = worse situation. This is saying nothing for the fact that being black increases your risk of experiencing certain hardships in the first place. Your life has been positively impacted if you are white simply due to the fact that you do not experience racism on top of whatever else life has thrown at you.

Note: I am NOT just looking for a $2500 AR. The budget is for all your gear. The exercise here is to see what quality of gear you're willing to trust your life too and what tools you will prioritize for your loadout. I'll go easy on you and say ammo is NOT factored into your budget.

REQUIRED:

1. Primary weapon

2. Some kind of sling, scabbard, or holster to secure the weapon to your body.

3. Magazines, clips, speed strips, speed loaders, shot cards, or whatever you need to load your weapon.

4. Some kind of load bearing system or pouches for all your stuff since you can't just stuff everything in your pockets.

OPTIONAL:

1. Backup weapon (requires extra holster)

2. Weapon accessories such as lights or optics

3. Armor

4. Comms

5. Medical

6. Navigation stuff like maps, compass, or GPS

Oxygen SR3. The best solar 180 in it's era. Unfortunately it was a 180 in it's era. I still loved it tho. The Meganura Dragonfly explosions were incredible. Very good with the solar splash Warmind Cell mod...I miss Warmind Cells.

Niflheim Frost. I loved this Warmind 180. It came with Kill Clip and could 3 tap after Forsaken. It got me my og Redrix. I know Randy's kinda uses the model but a) I don't like Randy's very much and b) I want to put a koozie on my barrel.

The Conspirator. l had to clear Leviathan 5 times before this dropped. I used the daylights out of it in Y1. It had fullauto before it became a settings feature and dragonfly. I used it for everything. Even Trials of the Nine. It's a beautiful model. They gotta bring it back.

Song of Justice VI. Look at that long boy. The one and only time we've ever seen this scout model in D2. I have no idea why. I would love MK14 style scout. Give me one in every element with a bajillion perk combos, I don't care. Huge Hakke lover. Also I just think 150s are the best Scout archetype in the game.

Another rare model. Almost exclusively used on blue and green drops. I love D1 Scouts. I thought the Cryptic Dragon was one of the best looking Scout models in the game. Why don't we have more of these?? There were SO MANY great looking scouts in D1.

Just kidding. I actually came this 👌🏼 close to writing something for König based on Fake Love. Check this out:

I mean...that's König right there. Part of him is always chasing love and acceptance, but it's hard for him to keep it. For him, being loved for longer than a one night stand or a handful of weeks is a dream that can never come true. He is prideful and confident about himself out of necessity, but sometimes he doesn't know if that's helping or hurting him. Like my beloved @50cal-fullauto-astarion so eloquently said, it's like he's zipping up this human skin suit over himself because he thinks if he can hide (what he perceives as) his flaws, he'll get what he wants. It works if it's just sex, but it's not sustainable. Nobody ever stays once the suit starts splitting.

I usually write König as ending up with someone he can unabashedly be himself around, but I think the rest of the song applies when he manages to get himself in a relationship with someone whom he successfully fooled into thinking he's not a nasty boy—probably early in his life when he's still getting into flings and stuff.

For those who aren't in to BTS Lore™, back in 2018 when they were just starting to become popular in the western pop market, they were in the middle of releasing their Love Yourself trilogy. It used short films and their music videos to extend the lore of this ongoing story they've been doing with their music since, like, 2015/2016. The oldest member, Jin, had an arc in the Love Yourself story about how he falls in love with this woman that helps him escape reality when he's with her—to the detriment of his own mental/physical health and his platonic relationship with others (namely his friends).

It's not really a one-to-one comparison (because König doesn't have the same deep platonic connections with friends like Jin does) but I think König approaches his early relationships in much the same manner. He's hungry for the kind of love that will cure him, but that doesn't exist. No amount of hiding his true self is going to change him, nor is it going to make his partner stay.

This is where the König analysis ends, for those who are reading this post for that. But I just want to say: I love how Fake Love as a song, if you listen to it without knowing Korean, sounds like a very generic song about how the narrator's partner had "fake love" for them. But once you dig into the lyrics, it's actually about how the narrator's love was fake because they portrayed a false version of themselves to their partner. It's good stuff.

In general, BTS's music is more introspective and general to the human experience than I usually relate with König, so there's not a lot of songs that would apply to him. If anybody would like to chime in with their own ideas, I would love to hear them!

can’t commit myself to just one so:

The familiarity, the predictability, the constancy—it soothed the stir-crazy soldier in you and pacified the persistent paranoia that plagued you outside of active combat.

Your sense of loneliness, however, was unique in that it never waned nor did it wax, faithfully sticking by you on both your most joyous days as well as your most despondent nights, neither receding nor expanding.

You couldn’t shake the feeling that the soil here was abundant in the natural fertilizer of the dead, decomposing matter provided by your comrades and foes alike. Beneath the ground, the roots of local flora carried your spilled blood as well as the blood you had helped spill, feeding it to the vibrant red tulips that were currently in full bloom. Gusts of wind blew the stench of burning corpses and rotting flesh your way; logic told you it was practically impossible for smells to travel the miles of distance between the city and the air base. You also knew that the pungent odor of sin, of your sins, wasn’t so landlocked.

the hannibal tv series permanently rewired my brain, and i wish i was exaggerating, but alas i am not. i think hannigram is peak romance, and i’ve been on the metaphoric/literal cannibalism as symbolism in literature wave ever since
