As in a meta-joke about the D/M part of fandom going "haha, that offer to rule the universe together is totally a marriage proposal".

I saw similarities between Alan and Simm!Master specifically bc the latter was the first one who was particularly sexist and prone to cruelty for cruelty's sake. Which doesn't make that Master a bad character - and he is far more complex than just those traits (unlike Alan) - but I was saying that RTD seemed to give a nod to his own Master, specifically, and it wasn't a nice nod. It was funny (imo, bc that star-giving followed by the awkward kiss became retroactively hilarious, once the You Will Obey Me clicked), but that funmirror character is deeply cringe and I hope RTD doesn't see the actual Master as that cringe.

You know how sometimes the people who have to temporarily lay off some foods... and it's important that there's a genuine reason to lay them off AND that it's not permanent because when you're like intolerant you just sort of accept your fate, so think preparing or recovering from a surgery, or you're boycotting some food until company changes its policy, or idk you even have a good natured religious fast... so this kind of situation, right? But to make yourself just a little less miserable you try to make what you can eat look and feel like what you can't, so you put food coloring on brussels sprouts so you can imagine it's meatballs?

Well, this is what I imagine RTD is doing, sitting in his writer's room wanting so badly to write the Master, but every bit of his craftsman soul knowing it's just not the time yet, so he just. tosses little obey mes wherever he can 🙃🙃

Girls Day Out
