I saw the other side of the curtain I sat in the back of the class and took notes Sitting and laughing as they steered the conversations In ways that I will never forget I don’t think I could ever trust again The way she held so many conversations Without any of them knowing How she held all those leashes And controlled each dog With the slightest word, or lack thereof It blew my mind And I wasn’t exactly surprised I had always kind of half expected it The kind of witchcraft that brings pyres to mind Spells cast from the tips of typing fingers Curses placed upon the shoulders of others With just the tilt of her head, half a smile flashes on camera How many times have I been on the other side I’ll never really know, and I accept that But now my mind races Finding every pattern from my past Connecting the pins with this new thread Dyed red to inspire caution in my future Because they deserve it These tricks of the trade only work On those that deserve nothing less And my caution is more of my own actions and mind Than of the chance to catch red hands #fuzzypoems #edgy #ihaveseentoomuch #poetry #whatislife #canadianpoet #igpoetry #witchcraft #allwomenscareme #fml #humansscareme (at London, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoOOzuQlDak/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=u2yit3q4cebo

I walk with a bounce in my step A noticeable rise and fall Easily recognized from a distance In a world where walking Is just the repeated act of catching ourselves As we fall towards the ground Over and over again I have a bounce in my step Each foot launching my body Just a few inches higher Propelling me skyward Unconsciously willing myself up and out In a world where people shuffle and slouch I have a recognizable bounce to my gait Because every step is a dance Between me and the bonds of gravity And though gravity leads I want so badly to do the same So I walk with a bounce in my step Mistaken for merriment, mistaken for joy Simply an idiosyncrasy All of my own If I were to carry you on my shoulders You would feel it The rise and fall leaving gaps between Your pelvis and my shoulders Because I walk with a bounce in my step It makes certain tasks extremely difficult Like walking and drinking Or walking and writing Even walking and talking Because some people get a little sea sick Trying to make eye contact with me As we stroll down the street Due to the fact that no matter what I walk with a bounce in my step I remember the first time some one told me I remember that day in high school As I approached my friends Huddled together in the smokers pit In the middle of December As I approached them that crisp winter morning They all remarked how easy I was to identify From even the greatest of distances Because you see, I walk with a bounce in my step #igcommunity #spilledinkpoetry #fuzzypoems #mathcanbepoetic #edgy #igpoetry #physicsofpoetry #poetry #canadian #poet #smrt #walking #bounceinmystep (at London, Ontario)
