I saw this tag going around and I'm definitley new here so thought I'd join and introduce myself :) Although I'm very indecisive when it cames to choosing my favorite blank so bare with me pls 😅

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? Im a sucker for couples that feel like true soulmates. That go through ups and downs and fight through all these shitty things but can never let go of each other. Like no matter what, they just *get* one another on a level that no one else does, and their love spans the good and the bad and the ugly and it's beautiful. They love so fiercely and always come back to each other.

How long have you been a fan? A few months... so, im very new to all of this. I just saw one gallavich edit on tiktok and it changed my brain chemistry immediately. Maybe I'll burn out soon but finding this fandom on tumblr and being able to discuss it here has been so much fun and such a good escape in a complicated time in my life so I'm enjoying the ride.

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? Just one is hard, they have so many eras.. I'd say the pier seen in s7 is definitely a favorite. Honorable mentions to Ian visiting Mickey in juvie in S1, and the surprise wedding anniversary party.

Favourite Shameless character apart from Ian and Mickey? I'm between Fiona and Lip.. They are both infuriating at times but there is some aspect of being the older sibling that i definitely relate to. Fiona always with the world on her shoulders and never being recognized. Lip's burden from everybodys expectations turning into self sabotaging. They just deserved so much better growing up and it fucked them up and put them at odds but seeing them try and hustle everytime is pretty awesome.

Do you write or draw or make edits? I have written for other fandoms (and then done an edit or drawing to accompany a fic), but not yet for Gallavich. It's too soon, I need months of ruminating to start writing lol

Favourite type of Gallavich fics? I love post-cannon husbands day in the life one shots. Love early seasons missing scenes. Ive read a bunch of soulmark fics even tho they are mostly all the same but are always cute. Love fics of Milkovich/Gallagher family dynamics and external povs on gallavich.

Favourite Gallavich quote? Another though one.. Most things out of Mickeys mouth are iconic. "Fuck you is what you were invited for" "I'll rip your tongue out of your head" "You're under my skin man, tf can I do" "I love you and the sonofabitch is never gonna let me be happy so he needs to die, TODAY" "It's my job to worry, your my husband"

Anything else you’d like to share about yourself? I usually go wherever my brain wants to, so I love to discuss Gallavich but will also talk about other shows Im interested in at the moment or my other core ships. Right now Im binging Supernatural, but The 100 (Bellarke) has been my n°1 for years. So dont be scared if you follow me and non-gallavich content shows up lol

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? 

i’ll be real. i’m down bad for size difference. i saw an edit on tiktok about their hand size difference… oh, i was stoked. it only went downhill from there. i love how raw and angsty they are. their relationship and individual storylines are basically the antithesis of everything i do not consume (cheating, heavy angst, rape, violence), yet here i am. joke’s on me!

How long have you been a fan?

4 months. though, i did try to get into them way long ago, but remember learning about 3x666, so i didn’t commit to them.

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene?

the prison reunion scene will always hold a special place in my heart. it’s the first thing i officially watched (off of tiktok). also, i LOVE coming back to that night scene outside byron’s apartment. the yearning, the jealousy, the love, the understanding, the anger. they both look so good, too, so it’s a real easy rewatch.

Do you write or draw or make edits?

i write and make edits (mainly gifs)! i’m isthat on ao3.

i have always struggled to read extremely long fics. before gallavich, my highest read wc is 80k in the dbh fandom. 100k in the 1d fandom way back in 2017. i read 2 gallavich 100k+ fics in the span of 2 weeks… that is insane for me. i’ve never consumed fics this long this fast. like i said, these two have me in a chokehold.

The autenticity of their story, that beautyful deep bond they have, that need of eachother they feel very early in their relationship and all along How long have you been a fan? March 2023 Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? 1x9 (for the I need to see you scene), 2x2 and 3x3 for the simplicity and sincerity of their interactions (it's summer and they just wanna be together), season 4 episode 10 and 11 (Mickey's concern for Ian, Ian wanting keeping him out of problems after his fight with Kev, the coming out scene), season 5 episode 9 and 10 (to see how Mickey helps Ian with his bipolar disorder always moves me), season 11 ( the episodes aren't perfect but seeing Ian and Mickey as husbands every mornings and everynights is particularly fantastic after after everything that happened to them. What made you fall in love with Gallavich? Their story and how much they been through together. They always find their way back to each other and I just love them.

How long have you been a fan? I started to watch the show in August 2023. I know, I’m pretty late. 

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? I love how Mickey takes care of Ian during his bipolar. It shows how much he loves and cares about Ian.

I also love when Mickey kissed Ian in public for the first time. It was an amazing scene and such a big moment for his character. Mickey could finally be himself and I love how patient Ian was, waiting for Mickey to make a move on him.

Do you write or draw or make edits? I do write, but I haven’t posted anything for Gallavich yet. I will probably in the future.

I just realized I have been around for almost a year and never made one of these so if you're interested, keep reading!

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? I found it so refreshing to see a queer relationship defy the odds and find a happy ending. I was so used to the 'bury your gays' era of media that seeing Mickey and Ian get married and live happily ever after despite all the challenges presented to them felt the kind of emotional triumph that makes a story really great.

How long have you been a fan? About a year, give or take? I know I started writing my first fic around christmas last year

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? Probably some of their first scenes together, in seasons 1-3 where they get to be young and have fun together. when mickey goes to see ian after he gets out of the hospital ("sorry im late"), and the conversation they have in their old bedroom when mickey opens up and explains why he isnt as comfortable in the west side apartment, that scene showed so much growth for both of them to be able to sit together and communicate and compromise that scene alone really saved season 11 for me

i have a lot of characters who i respect or who i am sympathetic with at various points throughout the show, but Veronica is the character i love through every single episode. also special shout out to Mandy bc i have a crush on her, and Liam because im in awe of how the kid who played him joined the cast late bc of the nature of the character and still did so well with a central role

oh gosh i love post canon fics, i love stories that diverge from canon to ask "what if x had happened" because shameless is such a complex show that if one event did change it would be such a different story. i like supernatural fics a lot, but my favorite fic by far for whatever reason is Boy in the Box by Mellow_Yellow on Ao3, its such a unique and bizarre story, the pace and tone is so incredibly distinct that it really falls into the category of fics that really could be published as novels

What made you fall in love with Gallavich?

Last year I found out Ian and Mickey got married by the end of Shameless. The last I'd seen of them was S7, so you can imagine how excited I was to watch them tie the knot!

How long have you been a fan?

I first found Gallavich when S6 was airing. I *loved* Ian and Mickey immediately, but by the end I wanted to burn down the Shameless writers' room.

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene?

It might be 3x10, when Ian leaves for the Army. Mickey's broken "Don't" makes me tear up every time. It hurts, but it hurts so good. This scene gives us the depth of Mickey's feelings for Ian, the tragedy that he can't be honest about his love yet, and foreshadowing that he'll someday (soon!) fight his way out of the closet. It runs the gamut emotionally while perfectly setting up their arc in S4.

Do I write? *drinks* Hello, I have no impulse control, and I managed to turn a "oneshot" into a 200k+ behemoth. Finally posted the first chapter yesterday, thank God. If you'd like to check it out, here's Chapter 1 of If You Have a Problem. To be honest, I write well, draw very badly, and make mediocre edits for fun. I rarely inflict my art on people, but here's a grungy emo 90s album cover for my Ian playlist.

I've been on tumblr on and off since 2011 but I only got back to the app a few months ago.

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? Their realness. I've been on and off on many different fandoms and I've never seen a portrayal of a romantic relationship as real and raw as gallavich. Cameron and Noel's acting is amazing as well and I believe a huge part of gallavich success comes from their chemistry.

How long have you been a fan? I saw a shameless tiktok in early 2023 on one of those accounts that upload movies in several parts. I think I was familiar with Fiona or Debbie's storyline at first but then I got into gallavich and just ended up binging the compilation of their scenes in youtube lol. Then I went to check their tag on AO3 and well, here I am.

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? Them meeting in jail and everything not shown that lead up to that moment. The relief in Ian's eyes, Mickey's smile, Frank Ocean playing in the background, the kiss! I truly believe that the gallavich plot could have ended there and I would be happy. In a way, that could have been their happy ending.

Favourite Shameless character apart from Ian and Mickey? Lip. I'm a huge fan of Jeremy Allen White's portrayal of Lip and Carmy (The Bear). I might relate to both characters a bit more than I want to accept. I also like Mandy and I wish we got to see more Milkovich siblings interactions.

Do you write or draw or make edits? I haven't posted anything but I have a few ideas floating around on Google Docs :) I'm not an English native speaker, so I'm not very confident with my English skills but maybe someday I'll try to post something here.

Favourite type of Gallavich fics? I love everything gallavich related honestly. I check the AO3 tag everyday and I'm starting to venture into fanfiction.net again to check some old works. I especially love fics centered around their married life after S11, but I also really like AUs (college AU, sports AU, i'm down for everything).

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? They're my favorite type of ship! I love them when they're feral for each other even if they're stupid about it at first. I relate deeply to Mickey's struggle with yet intense longing for emotional intimacy, and to Ian's uncertainty about him deserving love from someone who clearly loves him so deeply.

Also that size difference fucks me aaaaaaalllllll the way up
