OOC: just a quick interest check. if i was to add my ffxiv oc Vale to this blog would anyone be interested in writing with him? He's not primarily the Warrior of Light (although i'll add a verse for that, too) but rather some random adventurer/mercenary.
To give a rough idea of his backstory:
Vale was born to two Sharlayan researchers studying the various flora and fauna of Eorzea. During the time of the exodus from the Sharlayan colony, Vale's parents decided to stay in Eorzea, meaning to continue their work and return to Old Sharlayan at a later date.
A fatal error as it turned out.
When the Empire marched on Mor Dhona, the young family was surprised by Garlean forces and in the ensuing battle Vale's father was killed and Vale and his mother taken in as prisoners. This was not too long before the Agrius was sunk by Midgardsormr and the Empire was forced to retreat to Garlemald, but none of it resulted in the captives taken in prior being released.
Thus displaced, Vale spent a good portion of his formative years and early adult life as a conscript for the Garlean Empire, until he managed to defect a few years ago after the fall of Dalamud.
He's overall a rather quiet, gentle soul. Not necessarily aloof. but definitely guarded upon first meeting. Once sufficiently warmed up to someone, he displays a friendly demanor and an at times witty sense of humor.
the boy in question:
#.ooc#//might just add him for the hell of it and write a few headcanons down just because i want to have them somewhere#// if people are interested in having their characters meet him all the better

It took me a while to write, but since my outline of Wilan's story was so well received (thank you!) I finally got around to writing an synopsis of my other FFXIV OC, Delen. Again this will just be a very short rough rundown, but if what you've read of my little blorbos sounds interesting to you consider checking out my ongoing collection of fanfics involving them, Tales from Beyond the Horizon, especially if you're into introspection.
Delen Aldanea was born in a Garlean occupied Terncliff, the former capital of what once was the nation of Werlyt. Her father had been conscripted shortly after her birth and would find death while being forced to take part in the push to conquer Eorzea, which left Delen's mother to grow her by herself.
Growing up under the occupation meant the young Delen received a formal Garlean education, as part the edict mandated by the regent Gaius van Baelsar. She is versed in Literature and visual arts of the Empire as well as its History, at least the emperor-approved version of events.
Being educated with what amounted to blatant propaganda though didn't quite manage to win the girl's loyalty, nor that of many of her peers brought up outside of one of Gaius's notorious orphanages. Baelsar's soldiers enforced a strict curfew and were particularly plased to punish those stepping out of line. Any word of dissent, any tale pertaining to how life used to be better before the occupation, had to be exchanged in hushed whispers.
In this hostile environment, Delen quickly learned not to draw any unnecessary attention upon herself. She was a calm, quiet and unassuming girl, and despite having a sharp mind and strong opinions she had learned the value of biting her tongue and keeping quiet. She would often spend her days listening to the radio, or looking out at sea from one of the city's many vantage points, cradled by the sound of the waves clashing against the cliffs.
Then, Baelsar fell.
The news of the Black Wolf's demise during his campaign to conquer Eorzea reached Werlyt like a shockwave, throwing everything into chaos. Whispers and rumors celebrated a mysterious figure known as the Warrior of Light as their benefactor, and while even catching glimpses of such debates would have warranted extensive punishment from the guards, in the wake of Baelsar's death the entire administrative system of the imperial province was scrambling to get things under control, to appoint the next Legatus of the XIVth legion.
For many, that was the chance to escape.
The smugglers flocked attracted by the carcass of Baelsar faster than any humanitarian help could. The chaos wouldn't last long, and despite their prices being outrageous, many werlytians preferred to pay them rather than risk losing their chance.
Delen's mother was one such people. She got word that the smugglers would be rounding up people by a beach below the cliffs in a few nights, and she and her daughter got rid of everything they could sell to put together enough money to afford the journey. Their house, their furnitures, their good clothes, whatever few jewelry they had, even their red hair they sold to the garlean wigmakers.
And they barely put together enough money for one.
Some time later, still in shock and barely aware of her surroundings, Delen disembarked from a boat onto the coasts of Eorzea. Around her there were plenty of voices, many of them in languages from the colonies in the far east she couldn't recognize, but none of it seemed to get through to her. As the other travelers, weary and tired from the long journey, started boarding caravans for one last stretch toward Ul'dah, Delen wandered off, sat on the edge of a dock and stood there, looking out at the sea, crimson from the sunset, gazing into the distance as if looking for all that she left beyond the horizon.
She didn't know it. As the night came to board the boat that would smuggle them to open waters, Delen was shocked to see her mother stay behind, to be denied boarding.
She choked off a scream as she heard the guards catching her on the shore and executing her on the spot.
It was there that she was noticed by an adventurer, there to help the refugees in that step of their journey. He approached her, introduced himself as Wilan, a name that made her heart skip a beat, but she would otherwise remain silent. Determined to reach out to her, unable to convince her to rejoin the others, and somehow acting as if he was eerily aware of the tragedies that had befell her, the man offered Delen a place to stay at his home despite barely knowing her, and even to "employ" her as an assistant to aid her in her immigration paperwork.
Not too long after, signatures were placed, and he brought her home, in Vylbrand. However Delen didn't feel rejoiced by this turn of events.
Once alone, once that house's door had closed behind them, she lashed out at him, violently lamented her misfortunes, of having attracted the attention of none other than the Warrior of Light, the killed of Gaius van Baelsar himself, a person of considerable power she couldn't oppose, somebody who abused her weakness to make her his slave.
That his country's supposed benefactor would turn out to be yet another jailer, that was too much for her. She finally broke her silence and lashed out at him.
Wilan, who had spectacularly failed to view things from her point of view, tried in vain to tell her she had the wrong of it. She refused to listen, it all appeared clear to her without needing words to muddle things. She locked herself in a room.
That night, they both had a lot to think about, and while going over the events of the day and some of his belongings, she started to warm up to the idea that maybe he wasn't the monster she believed him to be.
She woke up the morning after to Wilan's apologies. He had been too impulsive, done things without thinking. He'd provide a meal for her, and then he would make her paperwork void so that she'd have no bonds with him, and in that case he'd try to recommend her some other place to go where she could find work.
But she had also made up her mind from the night before. Now that things were calmer, she could indeed see this Wilan, Baelsar's grandiose dethroner, as a simple but well-meaning man.
She ended up agreeing to his offer, on the condition that she could actually earn her pay.
When Wilan had offered her to stay at his house, he mentioned it'd be empty anyway as he would often not be home. And true to his word, shortly after having made sure Delen was set up and indipendent, he disappeared again on another journey across Eorzea.
The solitude however didn't bother Delen, who instead was glad of having a chance to enjoy the quiet, to process her own traumas. She would often take long walks by the cliffs, the sound of the sea being one of the few things that would give her comfort, that would remind her of home.
One day Wilan came back, but only because his duties had conducted him back to Vylbrand. The Primal Leviathan was on the rise, and the Admiral planned to board Wilan onto a raft and send him out to the open sea. Delen protested for the absurdity of that plan, and was shocked to see a look of resigned acceptance on Wilan's face. She insisted on waiting for his return and, sure enough, when he was rescued he had been beaten within an ilm of death.
She would spend the following days caring for him, nursing him back to health, despite being many times reminded that she shouldn't consider that one of her duties. She was just too angry to do otherwise, having taken the measure of that man and seen him abused like that.
She wouldn't leave him side until he was restored back to health, but this prolonged intimacy would sow the seeds of a deeper affection between them.
Then, one day, coming back from the city with fresh produce she bumped into a group of adventurers and, in particular, a miqo'te girl by the name of D'jihlli Rhez.
In the following months, Wilan would keep coming and going from home, until one day a rumor returned in his stead. A rumor that he had plotted to kill Ul'dah's Sultana.
She refused to believe it. She couldn't, she knew Wilan, and either the rumors were wrong or there was a lot more to this story. She insisted on going on with her life, but even though he was only sporadically home, that house already felt somewhat emptier.
Having recently moved with her brother from Gridania to open a bar and having recognized in the melancholic eyes of that quiet girl a kindred spirit, D'jihlli insisted on befriending the auri girl. With much effort she convinced her to let her be introduced many of aspect of the modern adventurer's lifestyle. She lended her some of her earnings to let herself buy some new, trendier clothes, she invited her to hang out and chat at her brother's bar, and even to take part in Limsa Lominsa's night life.
After months of barely having made any progress, of having landed on Vylbrand's shores but never having really moved from there, eventually Delen finally managed to start like she belonged there. She had a friend, and she had started living her life again.
Then, the day came where she could find out by herself. Wilan had send word to Delen that he was coming home.
Wilan became part of their conversations pretty soon. D'jihlli, despite her lively and outgoing personality was actually a good observer, and noting the frequency with which she mentioned the hyuran man she started to suspect there were feelings between them. When asked directly about it, however, she denied.
D'jihlli figured she probably hadn't even realized it herself.
The man had taken a protracted absence, tangled in Ishgard's Thousand Years war and delaying his return even after his name back home had been cleared, but that still failed to explain his greatly different appearance. Delen could hardly see any trace of the man she once knew, cloaked as he was within an aura of formal gestures and polished language.
But she was determined to see through it. She sat him down with him, ale in hand, and wouldn't give up until she found out what was wrong.
As it would turn out, proven by the many traumas he had been forced to endure and crumbling below the weight of the expectations placed upon him, Wilan had created an "heroic persona" of sorts to wear like a mask in a hope to shield his true, much more frail self.
She managed to let him talk, and in doing so she had crossed one of the biggest boundaries they had between themselves. Despite neither of them having recognized it before, tonight they close like never before.
They felt connected.
And yet things certain feelings couldn't be just folded and put back into a heart.
Just for one night, at least.
That couldn't last. Wilan wouldn't allow it. He had always been very adamant about never getting tangled in a romantic relationship, as he believed it could never work with the role he had to play.
Delen knew it. She respected it. In the end, she even accepted it.
Luckily they would have to part ways for the time being, as Delen, having put together almost all her courage to board a ship again for the first time ever sicne she got to Vylbrand, had decided to finally agree to D'jihlli's offer to go for a tour of Eorzea's city-states.
Her first stop is, of course, in Vesper Bay. Now a couple years removed from her original arrival on the distant shores of Eorzea, Delen can't help picturing herself back in that moment, seeing herself as that young, small, weakened and lonely girl who, like in that song from the radio, was looking for her home beyond the horizon.
On her journey she would see firshand the many wonders of Eorzea, but also the many refugees camps, brimming with people escaped from the colonies in far greater numbers for the city-states of Eorzea to accomodate, crossing the Shroud after being denied stay, wasting away outside Ul'dah's walls.
Her journey across the realm she now calls home gives her the motivation to take up arms and a battle training as well. She wants to be an adventurer, like the most important people in her life are.
And who better to teach her than Wilan? He's the strongest fighter she knows of.
But, of course, it would also be a chance for them to spend time together.
The two of them had an understanding that a relationship wasn't going to happen. They couldn't, however, just turn off the feelings they had for each other. Wilan gave her a Soul Crystal, trained her to be a Red Mage, and in the following months they grew close together, their affection finding another way to bring them closer despite the barricades Wilan had raised around himself.
Until, however, he realized they grew too close. And he got scared.
The both of them burned by the rejection, they took some time apart from each other. Encouraged by her friend Jill, Delen decided a change of air was what she needed, and the two of them decided to visit Ishgard, the city state that only recently ended its long isolationism and had opened its gates.
There, Delen would get accidentally tangled in a covert operation from the Redbills, whom she eventually decides to help. Her contribution would prove to be decisive for the resolution of their problems, and Leofard made her into a honorary Redbill and, as a more tangible gesture of appreciation, he gifted Delen one of their Manacutters.
The next time they met, it would be in a liberated Terncliff. Despite still bearing the scars from the prolonged occupation, the city by the cliffs was still home for Delen. She let Wilan accompany her around the city, dared briefly holding his hand. Tears shone in her eyes as she showed him the promenade from which she would look at the sea, down the cliffs.
She hadn't heard from Wilan in months, when he asked to talk to her. Their meeting was tense, awkward, somewhat cold. He however wanted to inform her in person: the Eorzean Alliance was pushing forward to liberate Werlyt.
But, as it would turn out, Baelsar was still alive, and he was collaborating.
She was home. However, politics had put Baelsar in charge of the newly liberated city, much to Wilan's protestations. They both agreed that for the time being it'd be better if Delen didn't move back to the city.
That was alright for her. What she wanted right now was to travel.
When she managed to see him, cornering him in his own room at the Studium, he was a wreck of a human being. Trembling, barely holding it together, he broke down in tears barely a moment after she closed the door of that room behind herself. She had seen the pressure he had been under before, but she had no idea just how bad it had gotten in the latest months, and he was facing it all alone, refusing to confide even in his closest friends, for fear that showing weakness to them might deprive them of a symbol of hope, and take them one step closer of giving in to despair.
And some months later, she would depart for another journey, although not under the best of circumstances. Wilan had sent word to be in Sharlayan, he wouldn't say much on the linkshell but he said it'd be safe here, she'd be able to quickly escape if things went wrong.
It would be some time before she had a chance to talk with him in person. The Warrior of Light had been running left and right across the world in the face of imminent disaster.
She spent that night with him, caring for him, listening to his worries, his fear, letting him vent his frustrations, his terrors. Encouraging him to indulge in a little bit of hope, in considering that not everything was lost like he thought, in imagining what he would like to do when everything would be over. When the world would be safe and there'd be no more need of Hydaelyn's champion.
Maybe they could be together, she dared to suggest.
He weeped. That would be nice, he dared to dream.
And then they departed. She saw him, leave the planed on a star vessel. She couldn't do much more than to pray for his safe return.
He did. The starship Ragnarok made its way back to Hydaelyn, welcomed by triumphant celebrations. He called her, on their linkpearl, made sure to let her know he was alright. The starship dropped the heroes of the planet off in Mor Dhona, and hopping on her manacutter she flew halfway across the continent to meet him there.
She found him, on the balcony of his room.
She all but jumped off her manacutter. He grabbed her.
And they kissed.
They didn't need to say anything else.
The world was saved, after all. The boundaries between them, removed. Maybe some day the need for a hero would arise again but for now, for now he was just another traveler.
And it was high time, Delen thought, that they had a vacation together.
From here on out, much of the story is still unwritten. But despite any shadow that might loom on the horizon, the new day's dawn shines bright.

hello! my name is TOPAZ, i go by he/they pronouns. i’m gonna iron out the really important stuff here first. i always tag triggers. I am currently caught up to the end of 7.0 msq. I will tag all spoilers as 'dawntrail spoilers' and '7.0 spoilers'. If you are on a previous expansion, please let me know so I can tag spoilers for those. By default, I do not. But I will if requested.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ROI DOES ENGAGE IN SUICIDAL/SELF-HARMING/SELF-DESTRUCTIVE WAYS. I will always tag these things but fair warning!
I have not played Kingdom Hearts or basically ANY Final Fantasy games aside from X, VIII and XVI. I won’t follow you if you are from any of the other games or from KH. I am not familiar with them at all. I am open to crossover if you have a XIV verse. If I KNOW you OOC or you have a XIV verse, I will follow you regardless of what you are from.
I don’t follow blogs that are just companions for in-game roleplay. I don’t really do in game rp. I also won’t really follow aesthetic blogs for characters because I am strictly interested in writing.
I am open to plotting multi-WoL threads. It just has to be plotted out a little bit. I do have some options for non-WoL verses, but Roi is VERY DIFFERENT in those verses. I can also leave things vague until we decide.
If I am interacting with someone that makes you uncomfortable, please let me know. I know confrontation is hard, but I promise I value your safety especially if we are friends/interact at all.
Roi does not like or trust Garleans. He gradually gets better with this, but he still has a lot of personal issues with them. He can be downright aggressive at times. He also hates A LOT of characters I don’t. I don’t want to water down his very real feelings. I LOVE Fordola, but Roi hates her with a passion. There are a lot of examples.
now on to the roleplay stuff.
PERSONAL BLOGS: do not reblog ic posts, headcanons, or answers to asks. i will tag posts with ‘ok to rb’ if anyone can reblog them. please respect this.
IN REGARDS TO MAINS/SHIPS: If you go inactive or stop interacting with me, I’ll probably just remove you. I am always open to becoming mains again. But it is kind a sad to go to my mains page and see no one that still interacts with me.
muse:
Roi is, by default, the WoL. I have added a non-WoL verse. it’s very different from his main verse. I can use this when interacting with WoLs. My default will be WoL, however. I can do non-specific interactions around ARR, and depending on that it could branch off to him joining the scions since he does have the echo, and going down a different path. but it’s only if plotted out with specific partners. Roi was not going down a good path in ARR. His ONLY goal was to get stronger so nothing would hurt him again.
Roi is incredibly traumatized. He’s got a lot of issues. In general, in ARR he can appear reserved and standoffish, whereas in HW he is at his lowest. Dealing with him in heavensward is VERY DIFFICULT. He slowly starts improving from stormblood on. But please keep in mind that Roi has some ugliness inside of him. He usually takes it out on himself.
Roi does not like the empire. They ruined his life and more or less killed his entire family. he has almost no sympathy for them. He can feel for conscripts who have no choice, but anyone willingly in support of the empire is an enemy to him. He HATES them. Roi LOATHES the empire. There are a few imperials that he is more sympathetic towards. He has very complicated feelings about Yotsuyu for example because of her circumstances and his own personal feelings about society. But yeah, if your muse is imperial he is not going to get along with them. He eases up as time goes on, but he will not go easy on reminding them of the sins of the empire.
INTERACTIONS:
IF WE ARE MUTUALS, send memes, like my calls, respond to my opens. if we’re mutuals, i want to write with you!
IF WE AREN’T MUTUALS, you can send memes so long as they aren’t interaction-based (drabble prompts, headcanon asks, ect…), but do not like my calls or anything. thank you. this isn’t personal. it usually means i don’t think our styles will work together, i don’t know your fandom, you’re a personal blog, you have broken one of my rules, or i will possibly break one of your rules with the content i post.
IF YOU ARE A DIFFERENT FANDOM, so long as we’re mutuals i want to write with you. i don’t typically follow fandoms i’m not knowledgeable about a least a little. unless i know you from another blog or the character seems really interesting.
IF YOU ARE AN OC, if we’re mutuals feel free to interact with me in every way you can think of lol. if not, it may be because i couldn’t read your about page or something, your character won’t fit with mine, or you’re part of a fandom i don’t know.
ON THE SUBJECT OF ASK MEMES, if i reblog them it means i want them in my inbox. i don’t care if you reblog from me every so often without sending any in. but i greatly appreciate when you do. even if it hardly works and i never answer it, it means a lot to me that you thought to send me something. asks are how i get 90% of my threads.
FOLLOWING/UNFOLLOWING:
IF YOU ARE INACTIVE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, i may unfollow you. if i did, just unfollow and refollow me or shoot me a message.
IF YOU BREAK ONE OF MY RULES, i’ll unfollow you depending on the rule. if you want to talk this over calmly, message me. in case tumblr made me unfollow for no reason, since mobile likes to do that.
IF YOU MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE because of the content you post, like constant suicidal/self harm ooc content, i may unfollow you.
IF YOU SAY SOMETHING I DISAGREE WITH to the extreme, i will unfollow you.
IF YOU VAGUEBLOG A LOT, i will def unfollow. i don’t need that drama in my life lol.
IF YOU POST A LOT OF CALLOUTS, i’ll unfollow you. please tag them with cw drama and it should be fine. i understand why callouts have to be posted sometimes.
I DO NOT ALWAYS FOLLOW BACK RIGHT AWAY. I like to look over someone’s page before I follow them. So if you follow me and a week out, I have not followed you back and you have a rules page and about page AND I have been remotely active. I may not have time to look over your page yet. Sorry.
SOFTBLOCKING
IF YOU SPAM THE SHIT OUT OF MY CONTENT, i will softblock you. this means you going down literal pages and reblogging stuff. i’m happy you like my content, but please use the queue.
IF YOU REBLOG CONTENT THAT I HAVE WRITTEN, HEADCANONS, ANSWERS, REPLIES, ECT… and you are a personal blog. you will be softblock, if not just outright blocked.
BLOCKING
IF YOU ARE CLOSE WITH PEOPLE THAT HAVE HURT ME, i might block you so they don’t see me.
IF YOU SEND ANON HATE and i find out, blocked.
IF YOU SPREAD LIES about people, blocked.
IF YOU TRY TO FORCE ME TO SMUT, blocked.
IF YOU MESSAGING ME OOC EVERY SINGLE TIME I COME ONLINE and get really passive-aggressive when i don’t answer, blocked.
IF YOU GUILT TRIP ME, blocked.
IF YOU POST SEXISM, RACISM, TRANSPHOPBIA, HOMOPHOBIA, OR BIPHOBIA… you will be blocked. i don’t care how mild it is or if you don’t see it that way.
IF YOU REBLOG CONTENT that i have written, headcanons, answers, replies, ect… and you are a personal blog. you will be softblock, if not just outright blocked.
UNLIKE WITH UNFOLLOWING, AND EVEN SOFTBLOCKING, DO NOT TRY TO ASK ME WHY. BLOCKING YOU MEANS I DO NOT WANT TO SEE YOU. IT MEANS YOU MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE. IT MEANS, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN. THANKS.

It was supposedly a big day for the Miqo’te who had been dressed in the finest clothing the soldiers could manage for a savage, which wasn’t saying much and still left him barefoot. But it was the day that the feline was to be gifted to a superior officer, traded for favour like a possession that nobody really wanted.
Nevertheless there he was, cuffed just to be absolutely sure the feline wouldn’t fuck something up despite him having been mostly compliant to that point (the claws had come out when they’d tried to brush out his tail and done a shit job of it).
His ears were up and alert though and he followed where his escort led, wondering to whom he would be gifted. He had heard names bandied about by the soldiers who had seen to his ‘care’ but had no faces to put to them.
Eventually though, an office door was knocked upon and the Miqo’te was forcibly shoved into the room before he was made to kneel, baring his fangs at the process.
“A gift for you, sir,” one of the soldiers announced, stepping forward. “A savage he may be but a trained one, amenable to your orders. It seemed a waste to let this one rot as menial labour in the processing plants. He was feisty, capable in combat. We believed you could make use of one such as he,” the soldier announced, while the feline remained quiet, taking in the sight of his soon-to-be-owner, assuming he wasn’t rejected.

❛ why do you care? you could have just walked away. ❜
The Miqo'te wasn't wrong; he could have very easily just walked away, and a part of him believed he should have done so. This was, after all, the fabled "Warrior of Light" -- the Champion of Eorzea, whose name had become synonymous with fear for many of the Garlean people, especially civilians. But Quintus was not one such person, though that didn't mean he dared for a moment underestimate the strength of the Eikon Slayer, and it was mayhap for this very reason that he hadn't abandoned the wounded younger man. A quick glance over the bloodied area earned a scowl from the former Legatus. He could no longer do much more in combat than fire his handgun, but the sound of a few rounds was enough to scare off the ravenous beasts that were slavering for another taste of flesh, at least. Beyond that, he could only patch the warrior up. Holstering the firearm, he crouched down beside the other, grabbing his canteen and uncorking it. The potently alcoholic drink within was, slightly begrudgingly, used to douse the wounded forearm. Then in one fluid motion, he unsheathed his hunting knife and began cutting a strip of fabric from the bottom of his coat, in order to tie it firmly around the injury. With luck, it should stop the bleeding, at least until the other could either get it stitched up or healed using one of his number's magicks. The knife was returned to his hip. With a grunt, he shifted onto one knee, left arm draped across the opposite one. The canteen still held a portion of its contents left, which he offered over to the man. "I expected more from the Warrior of Light," Quintus finally replied, dismissing the inquiry entirely. The remark wasn't entirely mocking, however -- there was a hint of amusement to his gruff tone. Then he added with a bit more terseness: "And from the bearer of an Eikon." The truth was that, loathe though the former Legatus was to admit or even think about, his home did owe the Warrior of Light, the Ilsabard Contingent, and Sharlayan and its Forum a debt. Without their intervention, what would have become of those whom had survived the "Tempering" as well as the "Final Days" as it had been called? Nothing good, of that he was absolutely certain. And then there was the small matter of the world as a whole having been saved by these Scions… If Garlemald were destined to owe this debt to them, if its remaining people had chosen to place aside their pride in the name of survival, then so be it -- he would honor their decision. But that debt could not be repaid if the Warrior of Light died out here, of all places.

Verse Basics
Verse | Main | 7r Set within the time of the remake. Essentially this covers from Zack’s death until Meteorfall
Verse | Second | Crisis Core/Before Crisis Covers almost everything prior to the first verse. While Tseng was still Second in command, while there were far more turks and while Veld was still around - and also the few years while Tseng was the head of the Turks but also Veld was still around. For ease this is likely going to be labelled as a crisis core verse. Tseng in this verse is more childish, more playful and generally happier. Most of his significant trauma happens at the end of this verse, so he’s unshaped by that throughout the earlier parts of the timeline. Verse | Thereafter | Advent Children/Post Advent Children Everything post meteorfall, including the novel. Will be labelled Advent Children but also covers the timeline of Dirge of Cerberus, even though the Turks weren’t in it. In this verse, Tseng is a lot calmer and softer. He is able to relax and exist more as a person - his staying with Rufus is entirely by choice with no coercion unlike most of his time with ShinRa. He still keeps his distance from the old Turks, and he is still going through a lot, but he’s doing better.
Verse | Imperial | XIV (This verse presumes an Imperial Rufus, in a position of nobility or royalty, and is preferably set before the current Garlean civil war) Tseng Goe Zhao (Censor, Primus Frumentarius) Doman conscript to Garlean Citizen, Tseng’s job is one of subterfuge and intelligence. He is able to be stationed throughout Eorzea and Othard and blend in seamlessly, posing as whatever is necessary. He is an Au Ra by birth, but his work requires a certain amount of disguise and so he leans upon glamours and fantasia to keep his cover. (I’m not assigning him a specific job, as I don’t like either of the gun jobs for him and my Tseng’s other battle skills lend to both Dragoon and Ninja. He’s just good at weapons, as with his canon)

When her mother became ill when she were about 16, the clerics of the local settlement in the Black Shroud refused them treatment because, according to the healers, the Elemental Spirits said to not do anything for the sick woman, whether magic or medicine. Rather than watch her mother continue to suffer & eventually die from the illness, Rosalia would make the effort to bring her mother back to her old homeland - the Garlean Empire, where she hoped that maybe they could do something that wasn’t dictated by so-called gods & spirits. The garleans were willing, thankfully, though in exchange Rosalia had to serve for them, to which she agreed without hesitation so long as they helped her mother, who would make recovery but remained weak for a long time afterward. She could put up with any ridicule thrown her way, to which through the years she proved herself at least capable of wielding her lance. All through this time, she kept her ability to use magic from being obvious, if only because healing magic doesn’t do much for Garleans anyway, but she would use it for non-Garlean conscripts when she’s able to.
Physical
Height: 6′3
Weight: 215 Ibs
Build: Lean
Eye Color: Purple
Hair Color: Silver/Grey
Skin Tone: Light
Distinguishing Marks: A x-cross scar in the middle of her face, the Third Eye that signifies her being of Garlean blood.
Personality
Virtues: Patient & kind to those injured or young, Rosalia is one who would offer a helping hand if given the opportunity to do so. She’s reflective, wanting to think about her opinions before speaking up to give them yet even then is willing to accept that she could very well be wrong.
Flaws: Due to past events where interacting with others often meant being bullied or alienated because of her mixed heritage, she is prone to staying quiet when it comes to large gatherings of more than two people. She would rather prefer being alone, or maybe being in the company of one or two people, though it doesn’t necessarily help with her socializing ability.
Likes: Fruit, tea, flowers, nature, art, warm weather with a cool breeze, good company, politics.
Dislikes: Meat, machinery, racism.
Ambitions: Acceptance.
Fears: Utter isolation, losing those she loves, being singled out.
Strengths: Salve & potion making, healing, awareness of her surroundings, combat.
Weaknesses: Socializing in large groups/events, working with others in combat.
Skills
Weapon: Double-ended lance
Abilities: Enchant/Animus magic is her main focus these days - the lance & white mage magic were learned first as she was growing up, her father teaching her white magic since he were Elezen while her mother taught her the lance.
Physical Strength: Agile & fast, she will strike before retreating to attack from another angle for as long as she needs to move. Has fast-regenerating aether.
Physical Weaknesses: She cannot stand armor since it slows her down, which means that she can’t take a lot of hits before going down in combat. Her aether-pool is not large at all, meaning that she has to take frequent breaks after casting a large healing spell or barrier, which would make her vulnerable should she try to perform white magic in combat.

Here, I'll help you with some asks!
For Cassius...
- Did he have any older or younger siblings? If not, what were his interactions with his parent(s)/guardian(s) like as a child?
- Did/Does he have any sort of hobbies?
- What are some of his views on Garleans that have defected?
- How about beliefs?
- If not at "work", what kind(s) of outfits does he like to wear casually?
- With the current events, how does he look at Eorzea and other nations as a whole?
- Favorite colors?
- If he could settle down by himself, or with a partner, where would he place his residence?
- How does he feel about Gaius van Baelsar? ;)
- What food does he like to eat? Least favorite?
- If has a current residence, how does it look? (messy, clean, etc)
- Cassius is the only child of Subrius and Hadriana Flavus. Despite attempts to conceive other children, his parents were unable to do so and thus spent the majority of their time doting upon their son. Around the age of nine, Subrius was enveloped in a conspiracy to assassinate Solus zos Galvus. Ultimately, the attempt failed and Cassius's father was killed during the attack by Solus himself. This left Cassius and his mother disgraced, despite being ignorant of the rebellion. They fell out of favor with the Emperor and most social circles quickly shunned them. A sizeable portion of their wealth was seized for damages done to the Imperial Palace, adding insult to injury. Solus made the Flavus family into an example and soon enough, Cassius and his mother were both effectively bankrupt. He grew up being a devoted momma's boy. Understandably, losing everything was traumatic to Hadriana and to make matters worse, she began to show symptoms of a chronic illness that steadily ate away at her energy. Because she was unable to work, it fell on Cassius to provide for both of them, a task he undertook at a very young age. He remains very close to Hadriana, who is bedridden more often than not these days.
The rest is under the cut because long!
- When he was still rich, he was actually quite gifted at music-- particularly piano. He still plays every so often. He wanted to take up violin at one point but he doesn't have time for it. I'm not sure if poledancing counts as a hobby because he mostly took it up for expanding his repertoire when he was working as a prostitute.
- His view of defectors is pretty negative, mostly due to his father being a traitor. He was treated poorly because of Subrius's actions and doubles down on his own performative patriotism to convince others that he was not a “dirty traitor” like his father-- even if he doesn’t necessarily like or agree with what the Empire was doing. Gaius betraying the Empire and being accused of killing Varis was like salt in the wound for him, especially because he and a few others were blamed for letting the Black Wolf back into the city-- something he holds against Gaius heavily, as it resulted in him being conscripted into the VIIth Legion under one Valens van Varro. In The Last Light of Dawn and pre-Shadowbringers, his view is that the Empire is an unstoppable force that will eventually win the war against Eorzea. However, presently in the canon, he’s given up on the Empire and has gone entirely rogue out of a need for survival. He served under Zenos during Stormblood and knows better than to trust him as an emperor. So, in a way, he’s a bit of a defector himself depending on the verse you’re looking at.
- Pretty firmly atheist in terms of religion. Doesn’t particularly care for the idea of gods playing with people’s fates.
- Sweaters. Anything comfy and snuggly. Has a lot more winter clothes than summer clothes. He does have his fair share of tank tops because he enjoys flaunting his looks. He has zero shame. Absolutely. No shame. He knows he’s pretty and he will make your head turn in his direction.
- Shaking Imperial propaganda is hard, especially when one has firmly set themselves in certain beliefs in order to come across a certain way. Cassius doesn’t dislike Eorzea or other nations. He views things fairly objectively-- eikons seem pretty bad so those should probably be destroyed. The lack of technology in some areas makes certain civilizations seem more primitive but he doesn’t really jump on the idea that Eorzeans are savages. He will play the part of acting that way, however, because he wants everyone to know that he’s very loyal to Garlemald (out of fear of what could happen to him or his mother otherwise). But the reality is he has no real opinion one way or another about other nations, so long as they aren’t doing things like summoning gods to kill them all... then he might have a problem with that.
- Black, gold, and red.
- Honestly, I think he would pick pre-destroyed Garlemald for the convenience of technology and he doesn’t really mind cold weather. Doma is a close second, however. He quite liked the sights there. He thought Ala Mhigo was a bit too arid and dusty.
- HAHAHAHA ooohhhh boy. Cassius falls for others easily. He sees the charm in a lot of people, but he likes to lie and pretend like everything is all “no strings attached”. Gaius was one of those times where it was supposed to be “no strings attached” but they were both hurting in their own ways and it became something of a “we’re kind of best friends but also we’re sharing a bed”. The tow hit it off pretty instantly both as friends and as sexual partners. Cassius tried to think of Gaius as a fling but caught feelings. Gaius, still recovering from losing Midas to tempering, also caught feelings but more in the rebound sense. Then Gaius “died” and Cassius was heartbroken (also partially insistent that he wasn’t actually dead). House Baelsar was sort of in a shaky position since Gaius had gone to Eorzea without permission. Then Varis was allegedly murdered by Gaius and Cassius (along with the other two of Gaius’s paramours) was believed to be an accomplice for it. Cassius felt ultimately betrayed by it all, especially cause Gaius never told him he was still alive. So there’s some resentment there. However, through all the bad feelings, Cassius still cares for Gaius. He’s just very, very mad at him atm in every verse. Whew, that got wordy, I hope that makes sense.
- He loves salty food. I often joke that he bums around on Gaius and Kaida’s couch eating chips and being their annoying third wheel roommate. Least favorite food is anything ultra sweet.
- His quarters are mostly clean and organized. He will occasionally leave his bed unmade or leaving a shirt laying around. Mostly, though, he tends to keep organized.
Thank you so much for the ask, this really helped me!

The Dragon
Basic Info:
Name: Khalaya Kha
Age: 25
Species: Au Ra, Xaela
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Occupation(s): Imperial conscript in training (formerly), travelling bounty hunter, Warrior of Light (WoL verse)
Appearance:
Height: 4′11″
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Bright green
Other: N/A
Backstory:
Khalaya was born on the Steppe as a member of the Kha tribe. Her mother was a hunter and craftswoman, whilst her father was a brave warrior and explorer. As a member of the Kha, he would often seek adventure outside of the Steppe - that he might mingle with non-Auri peoples and bring knowledge and techniques of other cultures back home to his tribe - and Khalaya grew up wishing to follow in his footsteps. Once she hit fifteen years of age, Khalaya begged to join her father on one of his adventures. Unable to deny that his daughter had inherited his adventurous soul, he relented and agreed to take her with him. Together they adventured away from home, and Khalaya couldn't have been happier. The world outside of the Azim Steppe was new and exciting, full of different cultures and people. Unfortunately however, not all people they came across were kind. Whilst trekking through Doma, the two stumbled into a Garlean patrol. Her father did well to protect her, but was eventually overwhelmed. His prowess in battle - and his reputation for being Xaela - prompted the patrol's leader to spare his life and take both him and his daughter as captives. The two were separated - her father being forcibly conscripted into the military, and Khalaya being taken to a training camp with other abducted youths. They would attempt to brainwash her into hating beastmen and primals, to turn her into a loyal servant of the Garlean Empire, but a Xaela's spirit wasn't broken so easily. She would constantly speak out against their teachings and misbehave, demand to see her father, even attempt to escape on multiple occasions - which often got her punished. But instead of breaking her down, it only served to strengthen her resolve. At the age of eighteen - before she could be forcibly conscripted into the military - a band of resistance fighters stormed the training camp in an attempt to liberate the abducted youths. Khalaya took the opportunity to escape during the chaos. She found her way back home to the Steppe, knowing that if anyone came looking for her, they would have a fat chance of finding her. As well as that, she was hoping that her father had been able to escape before her and had come home as well. Upon her return however, her father was nowhere to be found. The implication that her father may still be being used by the Imperials - or worse, that he could have died fighting their battles - filled Khalaya with rage. She spent some time with her tribe, training to become stronger, trying to get re-accustomed to tribal life, though it was difficult with the more civilized life she had lived for the past few years. Ultimately, she would make the decision to leave the Steppe once more - this time alone. If her father was still out there somewhere, she was going to find him and bring him home - a promise that she made to her mother. She travelled throughout the Far East and even into Eorzea in search of her father, though had no luck. Until one day, when she found a written report inside an Imperial camp she had infiltrated - detailing the execution of a Xaela soldier fitting her father's description. Since then, Khalaya has been at a loss. Having failed to find her father alive, she felt that she couldn't face her tribe again - face her mother again. As such, she has entered a self-imposed exile from the Steppe, feeling as though she would not be welcome if she were to return. In the years following the discovery, she has wandered alone. Taking to bounty hunting to earn a living, she spends most of her time on such hunts or lingering at local taverns, waiting for the day a new opportunity arrives on her doorstep.
// WoL verse follows the same backstory, starting at ARR some time after entering her self-imposed exile. //

Companion piece to FFXIVWrite #30
Since my writing for the FFXIVWrite prompt #30: Splinter (which can be found here) included a lot of different AUs which I’ve never talked about, I thought that I could write a companion piece which tells a bit more about them. I decided to also add short descriptions of each character's “main universe” versions for clarity.
Short summaries can be found below. Be warned that the text may contain minor story spoilers for the FFXIV main scenario story line until the early bits of Shadowbringers, though.
(MU = "main universe" (roleplay-verse), WoL = Warrior of Light (canon storyline), First = Norvrandt version)
Cain
MU Cain: An adventurer/odd-jobs from Thanalan who is trying to make his mark and struggles with impostor syndrome a bit. Lived on the streets from Calamity until roughly 7th Astral Era. Somewhat snarky at times, but at his core an awkward nerd. Thaumaturge with basic knife-fighting skills.
WoL Cain: Starts off very enthusiastic but gradually gets tired of everyone expecting that he solves their problems and nobody giving him even a small break. Got off the streets a year or two earlier than the MU Cain but still inherited his self-negligent ascetic lifestyle. Possibly snarkier than the other versions. Black Mage / Dark Knight.
First Cain / “Kayneth”: Son of a miner couple from Twine who left to seek better life in Eulmore; he either wasn't taken along or didn’t manage to become a bonded citizen. Eventually, his path lead him to Crystarium, where he became an adventurer. Lost his eyesight at some point when something clawed him in the face but navigates using aether.
Narangelel
MU Narangelel: A wanderer/hunter from the Azim Steppe who came to Azeroth to sate her wanderlust and find something that would fill the emptiness she feels. Placid and polite but sometimes a bit apathetic, perhaps. Lancer, though also somewhat effective with knives.
WoL Narangelel: Leaves the Steppe a few years earlier than MU Nara. Still hasn't found what she is looking for, but although her work is hard, she feels oddly at peace with it. Possibly fascinated by dragons after acquiring a dragoon soulstone. Represents Kha tribe rather than Mol during the Naadam (possibly negotiating a temporary alliance between the two tribes beforehand) and turns down Magnai’s proposal, though politely (because he'd definitely make one). Dragoon / Rogue.
First Narangelel / “Naldia”: Adventurer who hunts monsters and sin eaters as her profession. Has traced her origins to the Kingdom of Voeburt but hasn’t yet managed to visit Il Mheg. A bit more world-weary than the other two versions.
Storm
MU Storm: Former magical murder machine / Garlean conscript from Gyr Abania, current book merchant / artisan living in Ul'dah. Nicknamed ‘Stoneface' for a reason. Aether sensitive. Has a fairly strict code of honour. Helps the downtrodden when he can, particularly if they are magically capable. Arcanist with elemental spells and no carbuncles.
WoL Storm: Ends up helping Momodi with something, and somehow that leads to Storm becoming the Warrior of Light. Has a lot of conflicted feelings for a very long time, particularly when the events take him to Gyr Abania; eventually, the Ala Mhigans (some of who might recognize him) forgive him for his past deeds. Possible dad figure for some Scions. Summoner / Gunbreaker; still rarely uses egis or healing spells.
First Storm / “Forgiven Remorse”: An unfortunate Hume who got turned into a sin eater. Might have been a powerful mage and/or a powerful soldier, but he is doomed to get struck down. (A short post about this version can be found here.)
G’ilas
MU G’ilas: A cheerful adventurer/treasure hunter from Abalathia’s Spine who served the Maelstrom as a field medic until Cartenau. Usually an optimist and even something of a joker, but dislikes being pressured and doesn’t take it well if he is unable to save someone. Conjurer, though he does carry a knife.
WoL G’ilas: As the MU one, except that his adventuring path lead him to meet with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. While he remains fairly cheerful and smiles often, the losses and failures he has suffered in the course of his journeys have given his optimism a slightly desperate edge at times: he might not have met any of his closest companions in this timeline, which gives him a shakier foundation. White Mage, and possibly a Samurai.
First G’ilas / “Gae-Satt”: A relaxed Mystel living a life of luxury in Eulmore. Still friendly and happy-go-lucky, but doesn’t seem to be interested in adventuring in the least.
Merces
MU Merces: Allagan bodyguard/soldier clone who slumbered in Azys Lla for millennia before getting freed by a band of adventurers (namely G‘ilas and his friends). Chose G’ilas as his new master, but is slowly learning to live without constantly serving someone. Still sometimes feel like a fish out of (temporal) water. Polite, somewhat curious and very serious-minded. Gladiator, but adequate with more or less all melee weapons.
WoL Merces: Rather than having been forgotten or left in Azys Lla, this version of Merces was placed in the Crystal Tower and awakened after the beginning of the 7th Umbral Era. As he never found a master, he might feel and act even more detached from the world than the MU Merces. Gladiator / Lancer / Samurai.
First Merces: Doesn’t exist. Allagan Empire never existed in Norvrandt, and the person he was based on probably lived and died centuries earlier.
Sasameru
MU Sasameru: A Dunesfolk researcher with a passion for studying magic, though his own aetherial capabilities are almost non-existent. Amiable but a bit absent-minded at times. Runs a bookshop. May or may not do some shady business as an informant and a code cracker as a side-business, encouraged by his family.
WoL Sasameru: Doesn't exist. Would require Sasameru more capable in manipulating aether, and if that was the case, his backstory might have taken quite a different turn.
First Sasameru / "Samugg"?? "Samsard"??: A researcher working at the Cabinet of Curiosity in Crystarium. While I originally intended to keep his race the same, Lalafells/Dwarves are quite rare and reclusive, which made me reconsider... so it's also possible that First Sasameru would in fact be a Galdjent (as their naming scheme would work well with his name).
Lumien
MU Lumien: A soft-hearted, somewhat clumsy and insecure Elezen from Gridania who struggled and failed to become a Wood Wailer, then ran from home and tried to become a Gladiator in Ul'dah, and then became a retainer. Has some aptitude with conjury but doesn't (yet) know how to utilize his potential nor fully believe in it. Writes poems and likes cats. Gladiator / Conjurer, though both only on very basic levels.
WoL Lumien: Didn’t give up on Gladiator training before he encountered Thancred and so remained one. After he gets introduced to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, he doesn’t initially realize (or accept) that he is the Warrior of Light. Learns to control his nerves to a degree, which makes him less clumsy in battle, and that in turn helps him to become a bit more confident; still writes poetry and remains fairly shy. Knows that he can't save everyone but still tries, even though it hurts. Paladin / Conjurer.
First Lumien / "Lyriath": The son of bandits/poachers who has been dragged into the life of crime; hates what he is doing but doesn't think he can escape it. Insecure and downhearted, and has an occasional tendency to make a martyr of himself.
Haldswys
All three versions follow roughly the same theme of "boisterous bruiser", though the WoL version and particularly the First version have probably gained quite bit more scars than the MU version.
Chaz
MU Chaz: Self-proclaimed "wisdom hunter" who left Ishgard after he wasn't allowed to study in the Scholasticate. Loves books and does anything and everything to get them, including stealing. Somewhat bratty and arrogant, but still probably a jerk with a heart of gold. Rogue with some improvised Astrologian skills.
WoL Chaz: At some point, his paths crossed with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and one thing lead to another until he found himself being the saviour of Eorzea. Still sometimes puts an act of a know-it-all, speaks snarkily and/or refuses to do things that he doesn't like, but he is surprisingly dedicated to saving the world. Besides, being a hero has given him a way into some restricted libraries, so he can't really complain, can he? Astrologian / Ninja.
First Chaz / "Sawes": A guard defending Crystarium. While he doesn't exactly love fighting, has become somewhat nonchalant about fighting over the course of years, at least as long as he isn't in mortal danger. Visits the Cabinet of Curiosity on his days off and has probably read a large number of the books there.
Brenda
MU Brenda: A travelling minstrel who carries their father's Red Mage soulstone in the hopes that it will either react to them or that they will find someone worthy of it. A bit awkward but strives to look and act like a hero. Archer.
WoL Brenda: Runs into the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and accompanies them, thinking that one of them might be the worthy holder of the soulstone. In general, they probably spend a good while thinking that they're just accompanying the real heroes to record their story or being the replacement hero until the real one is found; they are convinced only when the soulstone ends up choosing them. Red Mage / Bard.
First Brenda / "Brinaette": A citizen of the Crystarium known to perform at the Wandering Stairs. Probably very knowledgeable or at least interested in the history of Norvrandt. Might also be an adventurer although singing and playing guitar are their biggest passions.
#FFXIVWrite 2020#Cain#Narangelel#Nara#Storm#G'ilas#Merces#Sasameru#Lumien#Haldswys#Chaz#Brenda#(tagging all characters for possible future reference)#(also using the FFXIVWrite tag so I can find this with the prompt if needed)#hopefully this clarifies at least something#as this turned wayyy longer than I exptected#no pictures because I ran out of energy //orz#I guess I'm not that invested in Haldswys's AU ahaha...

MIYUKI MASTERLIST 2
Fandomless Verse – Fallen Goddess of the Moon and the Ocean (No-ship)
In the fandomless verse, Miyuki is her world’s goddess of the moon and the seas. Her sister is her world’s goddess of stars, fire and volcanoes. They gave up their domains to their brother to chase a corrupted god of the sun. Crimson thinks it is a futile effort, but Miyuki was in love with this corrupted god of the sun. To gain the ability to travel to other worlds, Crimson and Miyuki sacrificed the ability to slide into their true forms for lengthy periods to a demon known as Davy Jones. Their mission is simple, to deal with the corrupted god and avoid the god slayers that are hot on their trail.
Other Verses:
Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV (Multi-Ship)
One of the Chosen close to Miranda, the Warrior of Light/Darkness. Known as Sarangerel Tergel, Sarangerel is the navigator of the sky pirate crew now turned adventurers. She was conscripted into the Garlean Empire’s military. They escaped with Miranda and her group traveled with her all over the globe. Sarangerel is the group’s navigator.
Fandom: Hunter x Hunter (???) reserved for skarletchains
Part of Mira’s group, Miyuki is a hunter. Currently, her nen ability is unknown. More on this verse later. She is a bubbly girl with a deep sadness underneath.
Fandom: Banana Fish (Multi-ship) reserved for whiskeysmulti
Was part of Mira’s gang briefly, Miyuki and her sister were originally part of a mercenary group growing up. They lived in undesirable conditions until they came to America. Miyuki comes from a yakuza family indebted to the mercenary group. Her sister is one of the “failed” prototypes of evolved humans (see the manga, Yasha). Miyuki is a skilled fighter and sniper. She joined Ash’s gang when she lost to him.
Fandom: Baldur’s Gate 3 (Multi-ship?)
Thought to be dead by my Tav, Miyuki was thought to have been killed by the mind flayers. However, Miyuki and the others did survive. She finds Mira trying to open up to her new party absolutely hilarious. However, keeps her distance, as Mira and her current party’s status as future mind flayers. Miyuki is bubbly, but she enjoys a good hunt. You’ll have to bribe her on any types on how to put up with Mira.
Fandom: Katekyo Hitman Reborn (Multi-Ship)
A high ranking officer in Mira’s group, Miyuki is a talented practitioner in Rain flames. She is also a swordswoman and a dual wielder. Miyuki does her best to keep the secret that she can use Sky flames as the heir of the Mochizuki clan. It is hard to say if they wish to make an acquaintance of the Vongola or not. Miyuki also holds a shark as a box weapon, a tiger shark.
Fandom: Honkai Star Rail (Multi-Ship)
Not much is known about Miyuki other than the fact she is likely part of the Hunt path in combat. She is also an ice user. She may be bubbly, but at the end of the day, she is the type that will hunt someone down to the ends of the universe. They follow Mira and are curious about the universe. She works with Feiyu and studies navigation. She is a dual wielder and uses swords. She is talented at picking up different languages.
Fandom: Obey Me! (Multi-Ship)
My protagonist oc for Obey Me! Miyuki is from the human realm and has a group of friends she’ll miss in the human realm. She is intended to bridge the gap between humans and nonhuman species. However, she has a tendency to attract trouble. She keeps a ton of secrets, and that is that her human realm friends are not all that appear to be. Her sister’s friend, Mira, becomes worried when Miyuki states she becomes a student at Royal Academy of Devildom or R.A.D. student. Mira warns her to remember her hosts are demons and they are certainly not people to be trifled with.

Synopsis: Vale is a quiet, contemplative man with a streak of kindness and a wry sense of humor that surfaces with those he trusts. While he struggles with lingering guilt, (a conflict between his Sharlayan roots and Garlean past), and the scars of war, he seeks to build a future defined by his own choices.
Normally a guarded and quiet individual, his habits —reckless combat techniques, a deep, near self-sacrificing care for others, and the subtle signs of his military past— hint at the storm of emotions contained beneath his composed exterior.
BIO: Vale is a former conscript of the Garlean Empire, shaped by a life of displacement, loss, and hard-won resilience. He was born in the Sharlayan colony located near present day Idyllshire, to a couple of researchers, who’d normally travel the realm to conduct their research in various places. When Vale was born however they returned to Emporium, withdrawing from field research to focus on raising their son and put their findings to paper. They remained there until the decision to prepare for the exodus was announced in light of the Garlean threat. Despite this, Vale’s parents decided to stay in Eorzea, determined to continue the research they had to put on hold while Vale was a young boy. He is old enough for them to decide to live a life of travel once more, never staying long in one place and teaching their son about the realm they so adore. It’s these times during his early youth that instilled in Vale a deep love for travelling, ever seeking out the beauty of this world.
Tides turned when Vale lost his father during the Garlean attack on Mor Dhona. Merely passing through at the time, the small family was caught in an Empirial ambush and tragedy struck. Vale and his mother were taken captive and Vale spent his youth as a prisoner-turned-military-conscript while his mother was forced to use her knowledge of aetherology to serve the Empire’s scientists. Vale’s mother decided to remarry not long after their arrival in Garlemald, feeling that taking on a Garlean name and conforming to the culture surrounding them would allow her and Vale both a much needed layer of protection, albeit a small one. Thus Vale and his mother took on the surname of her new husband.
Over the course of the next 10 years Vale learned how to use a Gunblade in a deadly fashion. He bowed to Garlean rule, went where his deployment dictated and grew from a bright-eyed youth into a battle-hardened soldier. Despite enduring harsh conditions and the orders of a dehumanizing superior officer during those years, Vale still found camaraderie among his fellow conscripts, made friends in the members of his small squadron — until tragic events at the Battle of Carteneau shattered his squad and forced him to defect after killing his commanding officer in a fit of rage.
Escaping the Empire under desperate circumstances, Vale fell into the clutches of a corrupt sponsor leading an illegal fighting ring who exploited him for profit. The man forced him to battle numerous opponents to repay the money he owed. Vale eventually broke free of that life and now walks the path of an adventurer and mercenary, as fighting is the only thing he’s ever known.
Vale is a quiet, contemplative man with a streak of kindness and a wry sense of humor that surfaces with those he trusts. While he struggles with lingering guilt, a conflict between his Sharlayan roots and Garlean past, and the scars of war, he seeks to build a future defined by his own choices. Normally a guarded and quiet individual, his habits—reckless combat techniques, a deep, near self-sacrificing care for others, and the subtle signs of his military past—hint at the storm of emotions contained beneath his composed exterior.
Through his journey, Vale seeks not only redemption but a sense of belonging in a world he has long been adrift in.

POSSIBLE HOOKS –––-
Artisan Trade - not being the loud and gloating sort with her work opting for a small sigil to mark her works Yuki makes a small living off of providing quality goods to the people of the Realm for remarkably affordable prices to even the poorest of citizens despite their high quality.
Dark knight for Hire - while not a full-time adventurer anymore, she still offers her combat services to those who are willing to pay, though not many are able to stomach a tank as tenaciously brutal as she can be.
Sentient Darkside - Yuki’s Darkside is a who other beast as it plays an active part in her day to day life, in a fight however it adds its own talents to the fray even going so far as either bolster Yuki’s own might or turn a 1v1 into a 2v1 if it means survival.
Voidsent Traits - Yuki has noticeable physical differences to Au Ra around her as she is partially Voidsent in nature thus faintly gives off a similar vibe to one which leads her to being potentially unsettling to those sensitive to Voidsent energies, though her Unique traits grant her greater strength and durability than most, She is not excused of the same weakness that come with it.
Damaged Magic control - Yuki’s experiences over her lifetime have left deep scars on her body and mind both, to a point where she was all but stripped of her once potent ability to manipulate Aether thus ending her former walk of life as a Conjurer, recently she has been having dreams of the flow restoring, however she does not know this nor does she know the price of her own restoration

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines!
Ohhh man. All of my AU/alternate timeline ideas are extremelyill-defined, this is going to be an absolute mess. But here are some concepts (this got really long I’m sorry)
Alyx AUs…
- Immortal Flames Lieutenant with Important Friends AU is the only thing remotely useable for RP if I was ever in a situation where I needed her to not be a WoL. Similarin many cases in terms of timeline, but her service and involvement with theFlames is far more prevalent because she is not occupied with saving the world. No Echo, but still an accomplished militarythaumaturge who knows and assists the Scions, particularly on matters of Ul’dah-Amaaljarelations. May or may not practice black magic on the down low.
This one has a possible branch in which she joins the CrystalBraves, though I am not certain to what end. One end is the Black Griffin AU,which is an extremely nebulous idea I have been toying with for a long time, meant to be a foil to Ilberd’s Griffin persona, though honestly even in hercanon ‘verse she has and wears the hood and develops the nickname among theFlames… more on this later I promise.
- Paladin AU, which really just for knight-in-shining-armorfantasies. Ideally coincides with @ahlis-xiv ‘s RDM AU purely for the combined aesthetic…👀
- Slightly altered normal verse in which she’s married toRothe ( @kukurubean ) for tax purposes or SOMETHING… this exists purely for laughs and theability to make ‘THAT’S MY HUSBAND/WIFE’ jokes. (Sometimes I like to think thatthis is actually canon but it’s so inconsequential in both of their lives theyroutinely forget about it and maybe have “oh shit that’s right I’m actuallymarried” situations with actual romantic partners… again, purely for laughs andfree cake.)
- Haurchefant Lives AU, pretty self-explanatory. This may or may not result in an eventual romantic relationship.
- Alyx + dragon blood AU….. maybe the most ridiculous.Slightly less ridiculous is the Aymeric is secretly a dragon AU, which I blame @newty for because she put that idea in my head like a year ago with adifferent hc ask. Both of these have heavy Estinien involvement and LOTS AND LOTS OF HERESY.
- Any modern/irl AU is just an excuse for imagining Alyx in silly irl scenarios, which can actually help with little character development details sometimes (AndI guess imagining Aymeric in suits 💦)
- I have numerous Bad Ending HCs, at least one involves herbecoming a Primal, or it’s revealed that’s lowkey what she’s been the wholetime. There are all kinds of angsty possible details that go with these… everysingle one of these ends with her dying, either at the hands of Hydaleyn, Zodiark,or her friends/loved ones :’’’’’’’’’’’’’’)
Brief but mentionable Rhodry AUs and ideas:
Horizon Walker AU (ish)– this is the current D&Dcampaign he’s in. He’s a ranger who can traverse the aetherial plane. Actuallyworks extremely well with his canon.
Rhodry also has a WoL AU in which he dies at Carteneau butis brought back by Hydaelyn to carry out her bidding. This is actually why I gave his in-game model scars and very subtle white highlights. He doesn’t know whathappened. (I don’t know if Alyx is alive in this AU. Sometimes I think abouttheir roles being reversed and how that would turn out.)
There’s also one where he is conscripted by Garleans andloses his memory and possibly his aether, another where both he and Alyx live in the forest (coincides with @ahlis-xiv bard AU, everyone lives, everyone hangs out in the shroud and makes music together), anotherwhere it’s basically Alyx’s canon except Rhodry is with her and also has theEcho….
LIKE I SAID this is all a huge mess and vastly incomplete… butthere are some ideas worth playing with for sure.
#oh my god help#i did not mean to ramble this much#i have even more in my head than this but it's all so vague it's not worth mentioning sdhfk#thank you for the ask#this was a good exercise#and indulgence#answers#about alyx#about rhodry#headcanons#headcanons meme#lottie-ballad#idk if alt ships count as entire AUs?#if so i've got at least two....#wink wonk

So I don’t expect anything to come from it but it doesn’t hurt to try right? I’d like to try out and explore Maru’s Garlean Conscript verse which I’ve added to his Verses page so please, go check it out. It can be adapted as necessary and tweaked to fit for any of the notable members of the Garlean hierarchy.
If you’d be interested in a thread for this verse to help me flesh it out and explore it, please drop a like on here and I’ll see about getting a starter up.

❛ god , i have no idea how you do this every day . ❜ ( for her garlean conscript verse maybe? :> )
The answer, he thinks, is easy to give, as he regards Rivah and then continues adjusting the machinery. Finetuning is a complex matter when dealing with forces Verstael cannot perceive, but he has never let himself be deterred. There is so much they do not understand yet.
"Because it must be done, if we are to advance. To know, to learn, to improve!" He replied, glancing at her once again. "I am aware it might be painful, but truly, your mere presence here is a boundless font of advancement. Whenever you are not being sent to the frontlines, of course." He scoffs. "There are no gods here, however. Unless you have acquired the ability to summon primals during your last deployment?" He then asks, looking up from the screens.
Truly, that would be a sight to behold and, more importantly, to study and dissect.
