A/N... hellooo anon, thank you so much for the request! i apologise it took so long for me to get to you, i completely missed your request and then went on a "hiatus" of sorts, but hopefully i'll be writing more content soon ^^ i'm the opposite of experienced when it comes to writing for zhongli or al haitham, so i apologise if they're slightly ooc ♡ also, i just wanted to say thank you for all the attention and love that went towards my character voicelines ♡

✧ alhaitham.

"hm? *he turns to face the doorway, throwing a towel over his shoulder* oh, good morning, traveller, i wasn't expecting any visitors today. [name] invited you? alright then... take a seat, i'm just finishing up breakfast, i'll go wake them up once everything is ready *a small smile creeps onto his face, his eyes softening at the thought of you curled up in the covers* w- what? no, of course i'm not blushing, ridiculous... just- make sure this pan doesn't burn, i've decided to wake them up now instead *he scoffs* unexpected visitors, they better have a good excuse"

"where could they be... *he mutters to himself, pacing with a stern expression* oh, traveller, what a pleasant surprise. say... you haven't seen [name] around, have you? no? ah, that's alright. what i'm doing? well, i'm waiting for [name], hence why i was curious as to where they are, we planned to go for a stroll together along the harbour, then perhaps continuing along the coast to pick- *his eyes seem to light up as he catches sight of you, his stone-cold gaze softening* excuse me, if you will, traveller my date has arrived..."

"ah yes... [name] *she smiles subtly, yet without restriction* their name brings me pure joy. tell me, traveller, how did you come across such a name? why yes, i do know them. in fact, me and [name] are quite close. it feels as if it's been an eternity since i've seen them last... *she sighs, not in sadness but more so at the wave of nostalgia washing over her* the plane of euthymia has felt emptier than ever without their visits, why don't you tell them to drop by next time you see them?"

__collei ㅤ “oh, um… is this because of my spontaneous recovery? tighnari says it makes me a bit of a special case, but I'm not sure it's to that extent. i—i appreciate the compliment, of course.”

__cyno ㅤ “are you trying to tell me i remind you of that one cartoon again? yu-ji-oh, or something? collecting cool cards doesn’t make me a main character, you know. but i’ll accept your compliment, if that’s what it is supposed to be.”

__dehya ㅤ “really? haha, that’s sweet of you. i don’t think mercs make for the most heroic of main characters, and i don’t think my story is all that special, but you’re real nice to say that.”

__dori ㅤ “it would suit a main character to be rich, no? i don’t think i’m quiiiiite there. perhaps you can support your idea… financially, hm?”

__faruzan ㅤ “it is only fitting for you to see me in such a way. as your senior with a past shrouded in darkness, as well as being the brightest scholar of haravatat, i cannot be compared to another in teyvat. that makes for a sufficient protagonist, doesn’t it?”

__kaveh ㅤ “i—i’m not sure what it is that you want from me. you better just ask it straightforwardly, since i’d rather not think about my existentialism first thing in the morning.”

__layla ㅤ “oh… a couple different peers of mine have also said i act like one. it doesn’t sound like a good thing.”

__nahida ㅤ “it is not the archon’s duty to be the main character in her land’s story. i only hope to allow more stories to sprout.”

__tighnari ㅤ “forgive my disagreement, but i think it naive to believe there are main characters in this world. stories are meant to inspire, and so if i am inspiring to you, i thank you for the compliment. but i am no more important than the creatures and plants and skies of teyvat.”

now i don't have albedo so this is new information to me but his line about jean is so fucking funny. he's basically like yeah jean does a good job we like her more than varka, in fact we all hope varka DIES so she can take his place. at least i read it that way and its so funny because everyone tells lumine/aether and paimon what they want to tell them and there's albedo like oh yeah we kinda hope varka dies because we want jean as permanent grand master.

A/N... i cannot write poetry to save my life, so kazuha's haiku came from google... unfortunately, i'm unable to find out who actually wrote it, please let me know if you have any idea!

✧ cyno.

"... so, as i was saying, i do believe it is quite necessary for your companion here to under-go judgement, traveller. you see-" "general mahamatra! there's someone here to see you" "alright, just give me one moment to finish talk-" "[name]'s here" "well, i believe i must take my leave, it was nice talking with you, traveller, paimon. remind me to tell you my joke next time, i'm sure you don't want to miss it"

("paimon's struggling to tell if cyno was actually joking or not... we don't really have to come back next time... do we?")

"ah, traveller, good timing. i was wondering... would you perhaps be able to listen to this haiku i wrote for [name]? yes, for [name], would that hinder your skills of perception? good, then i shall read it out for you: 'i want to feel it, the breathtaking certainty, that comes with our love.' you think they'll like it? i'm glad. well, then, traveller, it was nice seeing you, i must go find [name] and share my haiku..."

"archons, the things i do for them... *he grumbles, forcing himself inside the angel's share* diluc... look, i want to be here just as much as you want me to be here, i just want to know if you've seen- [name]! you've been here this whole time?! archons, i've been looking everywhere for you! you're drinking with traveller, but not me? unbelievable! ... yes, yes, of course i love you i- oh, shut up diluc!"

"[name]? yeah, of course i know 'em! we go out for drinks time to time, they sometimes even come onboard the crux with me 'n the crew! uhuh, i've gotta admit, they do have some tricks up their sleeve... i mean, of course they do! how do you think they won me over otherwise, hm? *she laughs heartily* i guess you're right, they are pretty good lookin' aren't they..."

"hey, hey! traveller! paimon! have you seen [name]? we're playing hide 'n seek but i can't find them anywhereee... no, it's not cheating! i- i just need a hint, that's all! oh, you're right- we should be quiet so that they don't hear us... wait, is that them over there? quick, let's go! *proceeds to yell* WE'RE COMING FOR YOU [NAME]!!!"

XIAO DOESN'T really comprehend mortal fears being the ever vigilant yaksha that he is, he's seen tragedies over the course of his life, things no human could imagine. So when you shake at the thought of being on high ground or in high places, he's a bit apathetic when you tell him. "many mortals fear such a thing... incomprehensible. fear of something so common..."

You refuse to go on the rooftop with him, but he doesn't mind coming down for you in an instant. It's not unusual to find him perched on high places, but you simply wave as he jumps effortlessly down to greet you, becoming nervous whenever he descends but he lands gracefully every time.

It's only when you desperately call his name that he sees just how afraid you are. Tears run down your face as you cling on to a branch high up in a tree. Apparently, you were trying to face your fear by using a glider for the first time and things just went horribly wrong.

Xiao is quick to grab you, pulling you into his embrace before teleporting back to the ground, his eyes scanning you worriedly as you break out in a cold sweat. The way your chest finds it hard to take in air and the way your eyes press tightly close, he's struck with his own sense of fear. He never wants to see you like this again.

He holds you until your cries and hiccups stop, keeping you grounded as you both sit beneath the tree.

"call my name when you're afraid, I will be there no matter how odd i find your fears to be."
