To answer your question in the tags, I think the reason skit is the shorthand name for sukuita is that they take two of the more prominent letters from each half of the ship name

I actually don't know if that's the reason but I've noticed a pattern with a lot of the popular ships:

sukuita = skit (I also see skita sometimes)

itafushi = itfs

sukufushi = skfs (or skfsh)

sukume = skme (sometimes written skume)

sukugo = skgo

gofushi = gfsh

goyuu = 5u (this one is the main outlier I've seen, and I think it's because "go" sounds like 5 in Japanese and then the u is for "yuu")

satosugu = stsg

yuutamaki = ytmk

Etc

I don't think there's a hard and fast rule but it seems like they typically drop the vowels and use the most prominent consonant sounds, and when there's not a lot of consonants in the original ship name they'll keep the most prominent vowel sound in there along with consonants and then whatever one is used the most is what sticks

Writing/Posting Goal #12 failed

1990 words written yesterday, 930 written today and I'm still not done. In December I thought, if I can't finish by Christmas, then New Year's Eve before midnight. Okay. Then. Maybe New Year's Day. Rrrggh I need more time, maybe by the 4th. Maybe by the end of this weekend. No! Always no. I always work slower than I expect. It sucks it sucks it sucks!

I remember my go/fushi story was just like this, taking soooo long, making me soooo angry when I found that even if I made big word count progress that session, I still unfailingly had lots more to go. Woe and agony at having to keep scraping away and being eternally incapable of meeting a deadline.

Gotta tell myself that usually when I struggle like hell on a chapter/story in general, I end up liking it even more afterward. Like my appreciation of my work just grows exponentially over time. This will be worth it and I love my ~craft~ and ~the process~ and all that.

Btw, anyone into the theory that Megumi became Satoru's fiancé to break the Zen'in deal? The way Megumi told Kamo that he no longer has any ties to the Zen'in left me thinking, although not in that way (makes sense since I wasn't shipping them haha... yet-).
