NTN THEORY: THE BODY ON THE COVER IS ALECTO!!

So I usually never use the braincells for theories bc I usually don't have them but GOD I have theories rn

In short: The Body on the cover is Alecto, the pilot is an amnesiac Gideon’s soul that's been shoved into her.

1) If you compare how harrow described The Body in HTN, it matches up SO WELL with the cover art we have for Nona

God, so MUCH matches!!! First off, I can totally see how this could be, in Harrow's words, "a girl. Maybe a woman", since her age seems to be super ambiguous to me imo. Also, THE LIPS. THEYRE UNEVEN!!!!

ALSO THE EYES!!! TELL ME they don't look like egg yolks!!!

Also, take a look at the HTN cover:

Her face doesn’t match the description given on The Body in the book, she looks super different! Her nose is more narrow, her whole face is waaaay more round than the one on the Nona cover, and HER LIPS ARE EVEN. Thus, that CAN’T be Harrow bod on the cover!!!

2) Alecto and Gideon have A Moment in HTN, so it would absolutely make sense for Gideon’s soul to latch onto her so she can actually live lol. The last thing Gideon sees before dying in HTN is The Body, aka Alecto, coming to "claim" Harrow. We have a ton of precedent for revenants in this series, and we mostly likely have a soul body-share with Palamedes and Cam in Nona. What if Gideon's soul latched onto Alecto's body? We don't know how this could happen, but that's why this is a theory and not canon written by Tazmuir lol. If I'm right, I'm betting were gonna find out what exactly happened in the River in HTN.

3) From what we know of the plot the Blood of Eden want Nona bc she can do Big Shit, like "save them from the Nine Houses". As much as I love harrow Alecto is a grade A level heavy hitter.

And it makes sense they'd kinda know about her on some level bc they KNOW ABOUT THE RESURRECTION BEASTS.

From these passages, we KNOW that BOE knows about Resurrection Beasts, and more importantly, *know that can kick the shit outta wizards* (what we know as necromancers/lyctors). If they somehow found out they have A) a real life RB hanging around (bc I heavily subscribe to the Alecto is an RB theory) or B) someone who knows how the lyctors Work (which alecto also would), of COURSE the BOE is gonna want Nona. The catch? She doesn't know shit bc Gideon's soul is piloting the meat suit lmao.

4) I am very much for the “Harrow is the person Nona is dreaming about” theory, bc it actually ties into a sub-theory for this theory!!! Basically, that Harrow’s soul got taken along for the ride in Alecto’s body, and she is taking a niiiiice nap during NTN (she deserves it, okay?). This would also tie in to Gideon being the one with the power in the Harrow+Gideon dynamic in NTN and ATN. I think being the main body pilot would fit that little piece of info quite nicely. 

5)  THIS TWEET!!!!!

I think the use of “that body” (I scrunched my eyes so hard at “body”), rather than character/person/etc. is an incredibly funny play on words referencing what Harrow called Alecto all through HTN, THE BODY!!! 

EDIT: HOW COULD I FORGET THAT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PART OF ATN!!! If this was supposed to be Act 1 of a story about Alecto, it would make PERFECT SENSE for the body involved to be Alecto's!!!!

And now for more P&F/GF content! At the end of Gideon Rises, the Danville kids have a sleepover with the twins, but Perry, in pet mode, sees Stan open the door behind the vending machine. He sneaks behind him to investigate, and when he sees the portal, he thinks he should report this to OWCA. However, Stan sees that Perry followed him, but doesn't think much of it since he thinks he's just a dumb animal, so he vents to him about Ford to get it off his chest, and now Perry is morally conflicted.

WAIT A SECOND I LOVE THAT???

Okay but first of all imagine how Perry would feel when Stan first started talking to him because holy shit is he a monologue magnet or something?  

I’d be interested to know what he’d do in that situation, though. Part of me thinks you might be right -- Stan is doing this because he loves his family, and I think on some level, Perry would almost relate to him? Because if at2d proved anything, it’s that Perry would do anything for his family, including turning himself in to let an evil dictator from another dimension turn him into a cyborg.

But on the other hand, he hears sob stories every single day from Heinz, and though a lot of them are just really fucking stupid, there have been a lot that would tug on anyone’s heartstrings and Perry still ignores them and does his job. Sure, Heinz’s inventions are usually made with some malicious intent, but Stan’s portal is arguably more dangerous, so they're kind of equally as thwartable?

This is lowkey looking like a fanfic in the making so even though I genuinely don’t know which response would be more in character, I do have to say that if I were to write a fanfic about this he’d take the sympathetic approach, if only because he can tell this is eating Stan alive. It’s been three whole decades, and this is the first time Stan has dropped his guard and told someone about what happened. Perry may not know what this portal is going to do -- and it doesn’t sound like Stan knows, either -- but he can’t in good conscience stop Stan from going through with it. 

Instead, Perry would become the project supervisor. He’d sit by the vending machine every night, and every night, Stan would let him in -- reluctantly at first, but I think he’d grow to like having Perry around. It’s one thing to talk to himself about what he’s doing, but talking to someone else is oddly therapeutic, even if that someone else is a mindless platypus.

And then Not What He Seems happens, and Stan’s taken into custody before he can finish what he’s doing, and it occurs to Perry that he was the least qualified person to supervise this project. I almost feel like he would end up going to Heinz and asking him to watch over this portal because sure, this isn’t quite like his usual tricks, but it’s not like Heinz has never opened a portal into another dimension before, and someone needs to keep an eye on things. 

But Heinz would just help because he’s interested in the science behind it, not because he wants to help Stan though I do headcanon that they would be good friends if they spent more time together. Perry’s really the only one on Stan’s side here, and at this point, basically the entire world is against him -- the kids, federal agents, hell, even OWCA asked him to investigate. I feel like he’d know Stan well enough to know that he would fight his way back to the Mystery Shack out of pure determination, so Perry wouldn’t bother trying to help him escape; he’d spend his time making sure Stan had a clear path back and keeping the kids out of the way (which is not an easy feat as a “mindless platypus” but he does manage to slow them down). 

I almost wish there was a way to work in a secret agent reveal (or at least a “I have more than two braincells” reveal), but while I don’t think it would work out, I’m gonna give my two cents about it anyway because now that I’ve thought of doing that I really like that idea anyway.

At first, Stan would be like 0_0 because oh shit, the platypus was listening this entire time. Stan's got a reputation to uphold, and he never would have dropped his guard around Perry if he'd known. But Perry would really respect him for what he did, and he'd make sure Stan knows that — something that would mean a lot to him when he noticed the kids gravitating more towards Ford.

I think Perry might grow to dislike Ford purely because he likes Stan so much. I mean, Perry watched Stan work his ass of for weeks to get that portal working and he'd been doing it for decades before, and Ford steps back through and is literally ready to fight a bitch. He hears all about what Stan's been up to over the last 30 years, and his response is to tell Stan to pack his bags and get the fuck out once summer's over. I feel like Perry would be lowkey protective of Stan just like he's lowkey protective of Heinz, and while he can't really do anything about not liking Ford or Roger, he's still going to be there for those Stan and Heinz when they need him to be.

The difference is that Stan would never admit that he needs Perry's reassurance, and it's not like Perry can just pat him on the back whenever he wants to because he's off the clock which means he constantly has to worry about the kids catching himm The best he can do is notice when Stan's getting annoyed and stop what he's doing to go sit down on the couch with him or lie down by his feet or do something just to remind him that someone's still on his side. And, as an added bonus, that's been known to draw Mabel's attention, and that draws everyone else's attention, too.

Ooh it didn't occur to me until I said that but what if the kids start noticing that when Perry hangs out with Stan, he usually looks sad? I feel like Phineas is the type of kid to be decide that his pet is a Sad Detector® and then whenever Perry's sitting next to Stan, the kids decide they need to somehow cheer Stan up. bonus points if Perry notices Ford is sad and even though he doesn't like Ford he still decides to sit down by his feet just to make sure the kids give him some love too.

Sorry I'm rereading Gideon's bits and I just can't not comment on all this beauty. I must. Yes Gideon you are the goodest girl yes you are 😭😭

This is just so fucking ridiculous and absurd and touching, so wrongheadedly considerate, such a stark reminder that Gideon doesn't know jack shit about what Harrow's thinking and feeling and no fucking wonder. Harrow is a tightly condensed ball of devotion wrapped in guilt rolled in self loathing packed in repression varnished in cruelty and then tucked into 5 additional layers of disassociation with skull makeup on top. And Gideon, well, is just a very good girl.

I lover her 😭 She just woke up and now she has to fight for her life with noodle arms while getting extremities chopped off willy nilly but she’s chiefly concerned with preserving her gf’s modesty and returning her body to her in perfect condition. Harrow, meanwhile, has never spared a moment’s thought to her body’s basic maintenance ever in her life and in fact would cut it into neat little ribbons for the chance to have Gideon back. In conclusion, two horrible dumbasses in love playing gift of the magi with one single body and a few surgically altered braincells between them.

SPN S7E4 “Defending Your Life” Watchnotes

Ooh, are we actually going to address Dean killing Amy? Escandalo! Suspense! I’m at the edge of my seat!

I love every single time SPN has a possessed evil car chase someone. A possessed evil teleporting car? Flawless. A+, +, +, +, +, +.

I’m absolutely dying at this hammy villain eating all the scenery in fake magic criminal court. I love that they’re trying to superimpose due process rights onto fake magic criminal court. I love that Sam’s yelling “objection!” about whether or not ghosts can testify in fake magic criminal court. This is why I own a TV.

The flashbacks through the angstiest scenes in the series are also sending me, including Dean’s single manly tear. This is the most hamfisted, clumsiest, redundant use of flashbacks I may have ever seen in a show.

How do you think family members reacted to Redmoonstar? Reg, Gideon, Hope, etc

let me spread this into sections (yes im giving you a wholeass post anon lmao, I adore this ship, they deserve my attention)

and I'm sorry this got quite this long, I talk a lot sbdmwvdjs

Sirius's family:

Regulus is entirely unbothered about Sirius being gay and in a poly relationship. he only questions how is it that two seemingly very smart people managed to loose all their braincells and, of all the people in the world, date his dumbass older brother. he's entirely unhelpful when it comes to any drama within the relationship, he's just completely unbothered by romance, so usually he'll just roll his eyes at everyone's antics. but he does support Sirius completely, even if he calls Sirius a gay loser a lot

James thinks it's brilliant, not much to it. sometimes, especially before Lily asks him on a date, he would be grumpy about it like "how is it fair that you have two boyfriends and no one wants to date me." but it's just him being a bit sour, nothing towards Sirius personally. he loves Remus like a brother, and that quickly extends towards Fabian as well. and Fabian is a Quidditch player, so he's got extra points for that

Mr and Mrs Potter, again, King and Queen of parenthood, they think it's very lovely. Remus and Fabian are two very well behaved boys with good grades, perfect spouse material, this relationship has their blessing

when it comes to Sirius's biological family, when the word spreads, Sirius does get a few nasty letters that contain a lot of lovely words and even lovelier threats, but of course, who cares? he does sometimes, but he has his chosen family to remind him this isn't important

Remus's family:

His parents have always supported him, through and through - first when he came out as trans, then as bi, and then admitted to dating Fabian and Sirius. Hope is one of the most supportive people out there, she loves Remus so much, all she wants is for him to be happy and loved, and she does her part in making sure he has a loving home. Lyall is, well,,, a bit of a typical dad, he's awkward, doesn't talk much, but he supports Remus too, he just has issues showing or saying it.

Remus's extended family is a bit more difficult. He has some allies within the family - Lyall's older sister, and some of his younger cousins, but when it comes to the most, they're really traditional. Remus is considered a slut for living with two boys, basically, and there's a lot of very colourful words thrown around about Sirius and Fabian (Remus isn't out as trans to anyone aside his parents and that one aunt, but even if he was, his family would be awful about it too). But Remus only ever has to see them around Christmas, sometimes summer, so other than that he just doesn't think about it

Fabian's family (tw for some internalised homophobia):

in my headcanons, Fabian is closeted for a really long time, to the point where none of his family even knows he's gay by the time he moves in together with Sirius and Remus. they're a very close knit family and Fabian loves and cherishes them so much, they're so important to him that he doesn't want to risk anything damaging it - and to him, that includes talking about his sexuality.

he tries very hard to be a perfect son and brother and uncle. he studies hard, he plays sports, he wants to make his family proud, and for a long time he struggles with his sexuality cause it makes him feel inferior, especially when being compared to Gideon - which happens all the time, they're twins, it's normal. and he loves Gid, of course he does, but he feels like he has to make up for being gay, because Gid is straight, he'll have a "normal" relationship and a "normal" family, and Fabian won't. one of Fabian's biggest fears is loosing his family and he sadly feels that coming out might make it happen

but for what it's worth, they figured out he might be into boys rather early in his life. They just agreed not to talk about it until he's ready. They all wouldn't mind. And while their mom is rather old and traditional, she loves Fabian so much, she'd get adjusted to Remus and Sirius. It's just a matter of Fabian gathering up the courage to come out
