I suppose this is more design than art, but last night (I worked until late again) I created a red-and-white Gingham pattern tablecloth design for use as a background in certain Zazzle product media images. I did the basic pattern in Classic Paint, then I tiled the image and used a clothify filter and adjusted the brightness, contrast, and saturation in GIMP. I'm proud of how it turned out.

No watermark here because I'll make this particular design available for use by others. Anyone who might be able to use this exact design may do so, royalty-free and without attribution. After all, it's a fairly standard gingham design. I wasn't creating anything original, just my own version of a red-and-white Gingham design

my sims 4 hyperfixation is coming back and i've decided to bring benny gecko in to wreak havoc on my save file. the problem is that there's no suits or jackets with the right pattern of his suit. i was about to just give up and give him a regular jacket when i remembered this dress

Oh ew. I dunno what to say about the weird [BRIGHT!] gingham between the stripes on that skirt. Or the weird zipper vest. At least the hair looks better. But that gingham...surely that can't be an Atwood decision 😬

Edit: I suppose it was an Atwood decision to go lighter because it wasn't as ✨BRIGHT✨ in S1.

You can see from her cuffs in both photos that the lightest part of the gingham was grayer in S1's skirt. In the newer pic, the white of her cuffs/shirt matches the gingham. In the older pics, the gingham is darker/grayer. That's why it was jarring to me. (( ETA to the ETA: You can also see that the lighter part of her blazer stripes/the main stripe pattern is lighter as well, when you compare the light quality of the stripes to the white of her shirt. I'm not liking any of it, it all looks like those cheap costumes you find on TEMU or AliExpress. In the newer costume she looks like she's lost amongst patterns...whereas with the old we are focused on Wednesday/Ortega herself. Hopefully it isn't as jarring in motion but. Still yech. ))

And I still hate the zipper vest.

I also hate the sparkle on the stripes of Enid's blazer.

...I should totally work my hate for this into Afterburn. It'd be funny.

ETA to the ETAs: This just reminds me of my short convo with Jany Temime, the costume designer who took over for Judianna Makovsky's and Lindy Hemming's work on Harry Potter 1 and 2 (I had contacted Temime back in the day when AOL was still around/a main source of contact, and when I needed to clarify something because I was designing for fandom when fandom was lacking in everything Potter). I asked her about her decisions re: making the costumes darker in Azkaban...the response was what was expected — darker themes, darker costumes to bring out the fact that they were ageing. Here we have the opposite. That's weird.

We are getting super excited about the Barbie movie around here! I used Simplicity 8280 (one of the AG branded patterns) to make this dress with scraps I already had in the sewing cupboard. Of course, Caroline is playing Barbie for us today because that hair 🎀
