Im always contemplating whether or not to draw him without or without stubble and scruff, but then i compare them side by side, scruff and clean-shaven, and just hrhrgrhgh oouugh he looks too good with a little body hair, yanno?👀🌸

I absolutely adore the way you draw Lux, I have the hc that if he doesn’t get enough light in a day or more he would require sleep to help reserve his energy.

But of course! IThis might be a little different from what you were originally thinking, but when I saw “Lux"… well~

Let’s just assume Lux Imperator isn’t too fond of the rain~

Dumb humans who are just a liiiittle too fond of gloomy weather, though…

I like to imagine the tummy and scruff that you give your Lux is what would have happened over time if Lux stayed in his Ring-a-Ding form for longer. Not in a “Oh he let himself go” way, but way more in an “art style evolution” kind of sense?

I just love the idea of the initial design changing a bit with Lux influence and character, like the original Ring-A-Ding was designed to be a dandy goody two shoes with a sliiiight womanizing tendency, but I truly believe he was the type of character who would have been often paired with characters who have like actual vices that contrast him so you can have the theme of “Welldoer character having to either wrangle a scamp type of character to contain themself / being set up against more wicked character so he can dance circles around them and beat them without even breaking a sweat.” Think how Bugs Bunny gets often Paired With Daffy Duck for that exact reason? That.

But since Lux is very decidedly not a little goody two shoes the design starts to shift a bit to reflect that. Gets a bit more of a rugged suit, maybe some elbow patches to indicate the wear and tear, some stubble, Ive seen people give him more pinkish fingertips that mimic fingerless gloves etc.

By the end of it he still looks like Ring-A-Ding, but he also clearly has his own charm going on, it’s like holding up a character sheet from the 1930s next to a character sheet from the 1950s, not a complete retool, but there are still noticeable differences and details (Bet even other stuff changes thats a bit less noticeable. Size of his pupils, lineweight, whether his spats are more yellow or white in color etc.)

I hope you don’t mind this ramble in your inbox, but not only is this the type of character and character design that just gets me to THINK about the fictional character AND the fictional FICTIONAL character hes based on and your art is just so delightfully illustrating what’s going on in my head like “Like this you see? He’d look like himself but he would still have CHANGED in some format! Look at how fun he looks in this fanart! That’s what would happen.” All with the most abject admiration for your art.

Now that you bring it up, I'd love the idea of Lux, having taken form of Ring-A-Ding, sort of "melding" and "meshing" with the character itself, and vice-versa 🤔

Now I'm just thinking about the progression from doofy little mischief-making toon to a rougher, gruffer depiction with a new street savoir faire~

Wonder how his own innocence would stay in tact.. like we wouldn't want to ruin him and crush his dreams completely 😭

Ooh Ooh!!! AN ASK!! <3 Okay! There's not much I can say, because I have yet to set anything in stone, buT LET ME JUST SPLURGE A LITTLE: The moment I saw this little blue gremlin in a trailer on that.. other godforsaken website, it was as if the forces of the universe shot a flippin' beam from the heavens! I'll tall ya, I tried my damndest to deny it for a few days, and it seemed my closest friends were waiting it out. They knew. They ALL knew. Like, they had the fancams, screenshots and his goofy little song and dance in gifs on hand and at the ready! Oh, I was foolish, though, to deny this little charmer's, well.... charm. It's always the ones that are morally ambiguous. The ones that, on the outside, look innocent and unassuming with their goofy smiles and wacky antics, only to become everyone's problem in the end! A trickster! A menace! But that seems to be the case for Lux, not entirely "Mr. Ring-A-Ding"... I can get into that another time, though~ I'd just come up for a Ship name for my self insert and ol' Mr. Ring, that may be subject to change, but it was just so perfect in the moment. LiveAction might just take off from there. The most I've thought up for my self ship, is that Mr. Ring-A-Ding (assuming he adopts the more innocent side of the cartoon himself rather than "Lux Imperator") would be positively enamored with the look and feel of the human body. All he's known is 2 dimensions, and depth & perspective (despite what he said in the episode XD) is a hot topic for him. Perhaps, like The Doctor and Belinda... He can start gaining depth... As for my self insert, I'd hate to just make her a "piece of arm candy" for Ring to swoon over constantly, though nothing is inherently wrong with that. I've been thinking about bringing her into the world and giving the poor gal some backstory. For now, she's literally just me, but I might have some things to bring to the table to make her less, dare I say, flat. To end this off, though, I adore everything about Ring and the fanbase he's garnered over just a week just by being him. The design, animation, and the voice talent married perfectly to create this little ray of mischievous sunshine, and I'm excited to see more creative works from fellow artists and SI/OC x Canon mutuals.

Gosh, it has been days and I am still completely floored by how stunning chapter two of your Ring-a-Ding fic is! It was eloquent, in character, deliciously well detailed and just faultless, really. It’s probably one of the best xreader fics I’ve read.

I’d love it if maybe in the future, you considered writing more-perhaps this time tapping into Lux’s personality? With him being more devious, more of a tease, being rougher and more possessive..he’s a god, after all!

Anyhoo, consider this more a drop in to say how bloody fantastic your writing is, it was definitely worth the wait and the effort you poured into it!

Just dropping in to say I do hope you manage to finish your Lux/Reader fic! It’s one of the best written ones on A03 and I’d wait forever for another chapter if I had to, and I know sometimes that all creatives need is a little reminder that they’re shaping absolute masterpieces, no matter how long it takes/how tedious it seems!
