for real tho, it just makes too much sense!! after haven they were both practically hit the bottom, they'd lost everything they'd worked towards—and ya know maybe some choices they made that went against salem's orders may have contributed to that a little, who's to say—, all that's missing is adam getting unmasked during the battle of haven and they'd literally been on the same track!!

and there's already a perfect point of divergence when adam is perched on his tree, watching hazel, who's carrying emerald, and mercury running away like he saw cinder wasn't with them and sure, he could have thought her dead like everyone else but also. she survived beacon she's got the talent of surviving against the odds, and when he has nothing and hazel left him hanging at haven, well. better be sure, right?

so while hazel & mercury are moving right, adam goes left. he's not joining them but they still made it a point to show him seeing them escape without cinder. he could go find her, and their failure in haven fuels their vengeance and revolution in atlas.

also they both want a member of team rwby dead. cinder can't do it bc salem told her not to, but adam has a promise to keep. two birds, one stone.

The story so far (Content Warning: Attempted Suicide)

During one of Claw Noir and Shadybugs’ arguments, Betterfly attempts to intervene. He sends a Kamiko in the hopes of calming at least one of them down enough to talk. Shadybug notices the Kamiko and shoved Claw Noir in the way. Claw, reacting too slow to Cataclysm the butterfly, is Kamikotized into Claw Blanc and given the power of Hindsight to see the error of his ways.

Unfortunately, as Betterfly attempts to talk to Claw Blanc, he manages only to send him into a crisis of identity. Shadybug and Betterfly can hardly get a word in before Claw Blanc flees. Claw spends the next few days in hiding, the Kamiko stopping him from transforming back and plaguing him with horrible clarity. He’s haunted by flashes of everything he’s done, everyone he’s hurt, with and without his Miraculous. Everything he’s done in the name of The Supreme—everything he’s done in the name of his own amusement. Every innocent civilian he’d scared back into like, every Kamikotized hero he’d beaten to a pump.

For nearly a week, Shadybug searches for Claw in an attempt to bring him to his senses. After all, as much as she loathed to admit it, he was useful.

For nearly a week, Betterfly spends his nights searching for Claw in order to speak with him—meanwhile Gabriel’s days are consumed seeking his absent son.

Both find what they’re looking for at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Claw Blanc looks terrible. He looks exhausted. His cheeks are streaked with the drying wake of fallen tears. Had his eyes not already been red, they’d have been bloodshot. His hair was messy—not in the intentional, chaotic fashion he usually kept it, but in a way achieved only by neglect and nights spend in and out of sparse, fitful sleep.

Betterfly steps forward, opening his mouth to speak, before Claw Blanc cuts him off.

He was right all along. All the innocents hurt, all the little glimmers of light stomped out, Betterfly had been right all along. Shadybug and Claw Noir weren’t helping anyone. They weren’t even helping themselves. All they were was The Supreme’s personal militia, stalking the streets like pests. Claw Blanc thought back to the look on Plagg’s face every time he detransformed; horrified yet acceptant. Even the Kwami knew this was all wrong.

Shadybug and Betterfly both tried to interject to little avail, they conflicting arguments white noise to Claw. He raised his hand skywards, focusing his power into his palm. An ever present pain roared through his nerves, the decay comforting in some morbid way. He couldn’t help but wonder if Shadybug felt that same pain. Karma for all they’d done—all they’d hurt. He muttered a half-hearted apology as the destructive energy condensed into a tangible sphere. He wouldn’t hurt anyone anymore. He closed his eyes.

Cataclysm.

Pain seared in his chest, causing him to fall to his knees as his nerves screamed in agonizing harmony. For a moment, Claw wondered if this is how every hero he’d used his power on felt. Every out-of-line civilian. For a moment Claw knew nothing but white-hot pain. He heard Shadybug and Betterfly crying out for him.

As soon as it came, it was gone. The burning stopped. Claw Blanc was still for a long moment before opening his eyes again. He stared down, where his hand sat pressed against his chest. Had something gone wrong? Slowly he looked up, eyes widening at the scene before him. He stood in a charred crater, starting down two statues. One held her arms over her face as if to defend herself from some attacker, the other reached forward, offering an undeserved hand to his most bitter enemy. The ambiance of Paris was gone. No people chattered. No birds sang. No pestilent bugs nagged him for his apathy. There was nothing.

In his attempt to stop himself from hurting anyone, Claw Blanc realized, he had destroyed everyone.

How much does Sybny influence Yara? Both actively and in the past.

a LOT. which is funny because sydney is soooo dependent and shapes her identity around pc and yara is also sooooo dependent and shapes her identity around sydney it's like. lmao

but ofc i'm gonna ramble about it more.

yara used to think sydney was the worst. prissy stuck up temple bitch thinks she's soooo much better than the rest of us cause she's the clergy's darling (didn't know sydney at all and was purely projecting her own insecurities)

so she had a one-sided rivalry with sydney that sort of fueled her desire to prove herself in the temple, even before she knew who sydney was as a person, which was. y'know sydney living rent free in her head from the start

but then she realized she was being a huge cunt towards sydney (via thought crimes and bitching about her behind her back. she had never had a single conversation with sydney atp). sydney was so shockingly nice to her during their first conversation. all cute and sweet. this fueled yara's (already heavy) inferiority complex. sydney wasn't stuck up and annoying she was GOOD. and she was being nice to yara and yara didn't deserve it. sydney was good and yara was bad. yara decided that she should be more like sydney. yara had already resolved to reinvent herself but her revelations about sydney, and what sydney meant to her, offered her a concrete path forward and a kick in the ass.

so when sydney kinda brushed her off for a while after their initial meeting yara was NOT disheartened and decided that this was her turn to be SO nice and attentive and earn sydney's trust and affection, she was gonna work for it. if she could get sydney, all good and sweet and pure and the temple's darling, to like her, then that would mean she was good!! it means she was doing good!!!

yara learning how to interact with sydney parallels her learning how to fit in at the temple. she learns what things she says get a good reaction and what makes people uncomfortable and adjusts her personality accordingly to make herself more palatable to the temple's sensibilities. sure, she's not great at it considering it's a 180 from her preciously constructed identity but. she's trying!

so... yea tldr is that sydney influences yara in a significant way and is the vessel for yara's hopes dreams self worth self image whateverrr. it's something they have in common! they're both weird about what they symbolize to each other.

Where does the events of Triple Frontier take place?

so I'd been wondering where the fuck we've been getting Colombia from, for the location of the heist in Triple Frontier because the place is technically never said + keeping the name TF if it did makes no sense bc Colombia isn't part of the Triple frontier. but anyways i fucking finally I found something that confirms location and its like the smallest thing that's fairly blink and you miss it.

this movie really sucks at telegraphing its locations which is annoying

i haven't been here since the beginning, but if anyone knows how we settled on Colombia as where the heist takes place, I would love to know.

Anyways the sign says "Welcome to Brasil", first in Brazilian-Portuguese and then Spanish. You see it when they're in the car, driving to the recce.

The overall route:

Tampa (USA) -> Brazil -> Peru -> Andes -> Chilean coast (most likely) -> St. John's

The heist takes place in the Brazilian section of the triple frontier;

then they fly west, just barely into Peru to drop off Yovanna and her brother;

they go at minimum either to the south or south west to get to the coast, we know this because the coords at the end end up in Chile, near the Chile/Peru border in the Andes;

they get to the coast, presumably in Chile bc of where they drop off the money is less than 1 day travel wise on foot;

then we know the lawyer contact is in St. John's, due to Pope mentioning it in the beginning of the movie.

To consider: Now, the only St. John's I can find is the one in the Virgin Islands. But two points I just want to note:

There could be another St. John's (or the Spanish name equivalent, etc and Pope just used the English name) that i'm unaware of (totally possible);

We don't know if there was a pit stop (or multiple) anytime between them getting on the boat and St. John's.

Ls Pangi…. What a creature. His whole claim to fame is his games. In the middle of a bloody server full of anger and attachments Pangi stands above it all, laughing.

He builds and records and follows the live and let live principal above all else. He doesn’t have alliances or teammates because he doesn’t need them, he just needs people to trust him. And then he leaves the server and comes back and no one notices he was ever gone.

I'm getting everything I want for fic material although, the more MORE MORE JUMP! I read, the more I realize there's essentially just one difference between MMJ and N25 and it's that MMJ is healthier about preempting the same amount and degree of crises before they actually become crises.
