                    ❝ you sound like general kenobi. ❞  thick as bittersweet ichor, the words coat the back of her throat in sticky memories and slide down slow enough that she’s forced to swallow harder than is comfortable.  ❝ not that it’s a bad thing. ❞

it’s the planet they’re on - or the task that’s getting to her. daro reminds her of felucia in the worst ways possible. even what shafts of light break through the tree cover don’t help lift the mood and the reigning dread of hunting someone when she’s nearly certain she’s being hunted herself. anything for a friend, she reminds herself. anything for friends. 

no matter the situation, there’s a shred of normalcy to this interaction that renews the fevered pump of her battle-hungry heart. if there’s no way to leave behind the life of a soldier, then she’d rather embrace being one with open arms. easier that way. and if she can work with troopers again, find ways to protect them, then it’s a priceless bonus she won’t dispute.
