“Russia is once again employing genocidal methods to destroy the identity, culture, language, and history of Ukrainians – attempting to eradicate [Ukraine] as a nation.” ~ @mfa_ukraine 🇺🇦💙💛🇺🇦
#Repost @mfa_ukraine with @use.repost_ . . . On every fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine and the international community honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomor-Genocide (1932–1933) and the mass artificial famines of 1921-1923 and 1946-1947, man-made famines orchestrated by Stalin’s totalitarian regime in Ukraine.
On February 24, 2022, the world witnessed Russia’s tactics and methods have not changed over the past years. Russia is once again employing genocidal methods to destroy the identity, culture, language, and history of Ukrainians – attempting to eradicate us as a nation.
Russia continues to use food as a weapon on a global scale. While Stalin organized mass food confiscations, blockades, and intensified terror, Putin has unleashed a full-scale invasion, violated the laws of war, and launched attacks on humanitarian corridors, grain storage facilities, and food ships. Specifically, Russia’s blockade of Ukrainian seaports and obstruction of international navigation in the Black Sea have already provoked food shortages in many countries in Africa and Asia.
In memory of the Holodomor of 1932–1933, and despite Russian armed aggression, Ukraine remains a guarantor of food security for many countries and regions of the world.
Eternal memory to the victims of the Holodomor 🕯
