Can’t believe I am doing this but I need to analyse this and point some things out some people brush over or twist around...

I am watching this as someone who doesn’t know much about the novel and has a neutral stance on the whole Gram/Black/Eugene triangle. I am taking it as it is without much expectations (I have some hopes but it’s not my story).

I don’t know about yall but Eugene does look like she’s considering Grams feelings. She has his doll on her bag now. Like she said she needs time, maybe she thought it over. She didn’t really say no to him the last time, she just said she needs some time alone after the breakup with Black.

And the dancing was pretty close till Black showed up.

Black sure doesn’t look happy about the whole thing but he has bigger problems. He’s not even mad. I mean he broke up with her, so she can be with whoever she wants. He literally told her to not waste her time on waiting for him. The fact that it’s his best friend might be a bit bitter... and the minimal tension between Gram and Black in this whole scene is suspicious.

It feels like he kind of leaves her to Gram, since he thinks he doesn’t come back alive. So she’s better with him (sounds familiar to the previous situation with Gram not butting in between Black and her dating, thinking she’s better with Black)

But Black obviously still loves Eugene. Otherwise he wouldn’t ask for her last hug before he goes on his mission.

I am not sure what Black means with “If you’re sure you can stand it.” when Gram demands to stay during the talk with Eugene. Is it because of Grams feelings for Eugene or because Black basically says goodbye forever and sounds super suic*dal? From Grams POV this talk can also sound like a final breakup but contradicts with the hug and kiss.

Friendly reminder that Gram doesn’t know what’s going. All he knows is Black pushed Eugene away the past months, mainly ignored both of them and didn’t care about her feelings AFTER Black contacted her again and gave her new hope just to leave her again. He doesn’t know it was White at this point.

Black looks lost and sad after Gram pushed him away when he tried to kiss Eugene. But he doesn’t look at any of them. This is the point where he starts feeling the twin connection.

Which is interesting, because it is BEFORE White drowns himself. But Their emotions are pretty much the same. Almost like they synchronized (and due to the tent scene we know they can connect due to emotions as well, not just from physical pain). They both feel lost, alone and ready to get harmed for the cause in that moment.

Unlike some people here say, Gram doesn’t just stand there when Black chokes, he tries to help him together with Eugene??

He even helps him up afterwards??

Tell me he doesn’t look worried and confused after Black says this to Eugene and runs off??

The next day Gram sees “him” when he comes to the gang together with Sean, looking fine, talking about actually being Blacks twin brother named White.... Gram doesn’t know that not all previous Black interactions were with White, that Black came back inbetween. He also had the hardest time to believe the whole twin-swap.

I agree that the twin reveal scene feels a bit disconnected and too lighthearted in relation to the rest of the episodes events. And that might be the main issue here. Maybe they tried to end the episode on light note instead of angst or it should have happened at a different point in the timeline. The scenes purpose was to show that they accept White and don’t have a grudge against him for lying all the time. But there is no way they will ignore Blacks absence and him being in danger the next episodes.

Regarding Grams sexuality, since I saw people calling him hetero... he lowkey flirts with White here and he highkey flirted with “Black” (White) in that one episode in his room... also this: (link)

(imo something like pansexual still makes more sense internationally, maybe some translation differences in Thai language/culture? Since the topic is sexuality and not identity but that seems to get mixed in some cases in Thai? SOGIE is basically just another acronym for a LGBTq movement including all variations of sexualities + identities)

That’s how I see it for now. I guess / hope we will get more puzzle pieces the next episodes 🤷‍♂️

I don't have a problem with GramEugene being endgame. I DO have a problem with how we are getting there because it literally makes no sense. All roads were leading to GramBlack — whatever their relationship may be — and then all of a sudden Gram is pursuing Eugene like his life depends on it. Maybe I missed something indicating that Gram was interested in Eugene all along? I just don't understand lol

i cant imagine an ot3 mostly bc her entire character arc has been not wanting to chase after a guy anymore and not wanting to be with anyone but if they can do it right then i’m here for it

that is very much true, & I agree that eugene just deserves better than this whole mess. my issue though is that the screenwriters have clearly included her in this whole thing for a reason, which I why I'm still unsure how it's all gonna end... we shall see 👀

an update on my past gram post with some spoilers for ep 12

I’m still not mad? like, i am VERY confused now, if he never loved black. that makes very very little sense rewatching the first few episodes. but also, gram is actually really nice to eugene, who he is obviously already close friends with. 

yall can stop pretending he’s stalking her when they have established repeatedly that they are friends. and also, eugene is hot and sweet and also a radical artist. its pretty on brand for gram to be into her? 

but also, that scene where gram and black finally see each other again? as far as black is concerned, his relationship with gram is still where it was months ago, which we STILL don’t know what it was. for gram, hes spent the past one or two months with ‘black’ ending their friendship and breaking eugene’s heart. it makes sense that an angry black waltzing in makes him nervous and he steps to him.

but when black starts to ‘drown’ both gram and eugene are there to help him. because at the end of the day, romantic or no, they love him. 

do i want gram to be with black? yeah sure. if they dont get together? thats what fic is for.

Black comes back to the gang and everyone has their romance mess going on, his grades and reputation are fucced, White smooching his frenemie

vs.

Reality:

us coming into ep10 watching Black messing up Sean and White hard, GramBlackEugene got more confusing, the gang gets shot and the preview suggests some Todd x Black history

not me theory time 😕🙏 (literally just an excuse to word vomit and write everything that i think about) (i’ll just add things onto here as the days go by ig)

•if the series goes in any direction that the novel did, then sean may have known black & white since they were younger. so, he didn’t see an id card and it genuinely was just white’s glasses - but, as he’s known them since they were younger, it was a dead give away. (i am certain this won’t be canon, but i’m chucking it in here anyway)

•if any characters get an unhappy ending, it is going to be dan and yok. in the preview for episode ten where yok says something about ‘throwing himself out of the gang’ if dan ‘does anything suspicious’ - they will find out that dan killed sean’s dad, and he’s done that. whether it was in the past or not, he’s done it and although yok wasn’t aware that it was sean’s dad - he still let dan into the gang’s lives. so, he’ll have to leave the gang and will probably leave dan in the process too because he killed his friend’s dad. then, in an attempt to prove himself (his love for yok & that he really is sorry etc.) dan will save yok (presumably from being shot or something) and will die. IF this is the case, then the “promise me you won’t leave” scene is 100% foreshadowing 😕😕😕😕

•sean is going to know straight away that black isn’t white, so he’ll ask black where white is and black will realise that something was going on. black will make white go and break off whatever they had going on. the only reason i think this is because of the og trailer 🤷🏻‍♀️ when they kiss & white spits after, idk i don’t think that it’s black & sean kissing. especially since in the preview for episode ten, white is stood at the place sean took him.

•again, not sure abt this one but i’m chucking it here anyway. black MAY have been abusive towards eugene, and that is why she reacted the way she did to the dance she was doing. either that, or she’s seen something that black has done and it has scared her since. idk

•i wish i had a gramblack theory but i have none anymore because i really don’t know what to think 😭😭

•this is purely crack, but putting it here just so that if it does become canon - i am a genius: gumpa is behind something. (he’s not, but he just needs more screen time)

•dan might not have a ‘redemption’ because p’nuchy wants us to know that we shouldn’t trust police whatsoever 👌👌

•i doubt they’d stay that long, but the marks that the restraints would have left on white’s wrists? something to identify him by? or the missing button?? honestly, i think that the eyes are a dead give away because somehow gun makes his eyes look so different when he’s portraying white & black
