Made a ref sheet of a furry character I just thought of today. Not my usual art app (used Sketchbook on the Chromebook), but it looks nice in my opinion. It's a species I'm thinking of calling a Greepic (Greek+Epic). I have a generalized idea of the species, but I currently do not have the energy to actually create the concept of everything that comes with it. It'll be an open species, but rules with how to make them. The concept of both character and species are primarily based on EPIC: The Musical, but also the greek pantheon.

Anyway, This is Ody, short for Odysseus. I'll create an introduction sheet eventually for all of my anthro characters (My 2 sonas, and this character). His mash up is a Laconian Dog (the breed that may have been what Odysseus' dog was in The Odyssey), a Lion (a few passages in The Odyssey refer to Odysseus as lion-like, but also a nod to Circe), a Boar (Representative of how Odysseus and Athena met), a Snowy Owl (Sacred animal of Athena from what I was looking into), and a Grass Snake (The snake being a call back to Hermes, who is possibly related to Odysseus if I read correctly).

A lot of pieces and all, but I think I hit a happy medium with Ody when it comes to if I made things crowded or not. I hope y'all didn't mind reading me ramble on about a hyperfixation of mine!

Physical Appearance Rules

So, when picking out what you are adding to the base bodies, you have up to 20 points to use. Since this is an open species, there are limitations when it comes to physical traits that are used

When picking what you use for your physical traits, as stated, you have 20 points to choose your traits. This excludes your character's base body type (Laconian Dog, Lion, Eagle, Black Sheep, Boar, or Wolf).

Each tier of traits has a different amount of points. These amounts goes as follows:

Common- 2

Uncommon- 4

Rare- 6

Ultra Rare- 8

Legendary- 10

The other that is not included in the point calculation is the animal that you take the palette from. Do note though: It must be an animal connected to a god/titan/primordial. In which I am fully aware of the overlap of animals.

That goes into a general rule I will reiterate when I go into my general species rules. When posting your character for the first time, tag me and state the animals used and where they were used.

Ex:

Base Body Type- Eagle

Wings- Owl (Nyx, -10)

Legs- Donkey (Dionysis, -6)

Horns- Cretan Bull (Heracles, -4)

Coloration- Crab (Calypso)

You must have some sort of mane on the character when it comes to their appearance. Due to them not seeing gender similarly to other creatures. Their gender assigned at birth can change much like a clown fish or parrot fish, hence the mane length.

Facial shape, hands and tail do not get changed though as those are considered main indicators to what the base species the character is.

Introduction

Hello, I'm Tyr and this is my side blog where I post official information about my original species called Greepics. This post serves two purposes: A hub where I link official information so no one has to scroll through this page to find the information. The other being a mini intro to me and what the species is about.

I am an autistic 21 year old trans man. My hyperfixation on EPIC: the musical, and my love for deities and mythologies is what made me decide to create a species of my own. This was originally made for an anthro character of mine named Ody(sseus), but I wanted to share this expanding species with others as well.

Now, into the meat and potatoes of this post that will be edited as I post the information on the species. This will be added onto as time goes on.

Greepic Animal Guide

So, as some may have seen, I am creating my own species. Eventually I will make a sideblog and archive everything about the species there. For now, I will give the different animals one can choose from

~Base body~

There are different variations of the base body that are based on different animals connected to Odysseus.

Those animals are as follows: Laconian Dog, Lion, Eagle, Black Sheep, and Boar

Eagle variants have griffon-like ears, and griffon-like tails. All types have some sort of mane situation going on. Sexual dimorphism doesn't exactly exist. It's more based on who's more dominant in the relationship. The more dominant partner(s) in the relationship will normally be seen with thicker manes, some of those manes going all around the neck in some cases. The less dominant partner has a smaller mane, some even being as small as a mohawk.

Now, onto the fun part (in my opinion) of this species

~Additional Body Parts~

These are based on different gods, goddesses, and higher beings mentioned and seen in both EPIC: the musical and the story of The Odyssey.

Normally this species has some sort of wing-like appendages. Wings/fins are very common.

The combination is up to the creator of the character on what they want to add in. I plan on having a point system for certain mutations and traits, but it's going to be an open species.

I'm thinking of offering up animal traits from other gods as a rare trait with higher point usage. Eventually I will have a ref guide for the different traits and base bodies with point counts.

For now, I'll post behind the scenes knowledge and updates that aren't fully official to the species here. I will post all official to an official tumblr blog once I get the chance.

Base Body Creation Guide

There are 5 different animals that one can choose from to make their greepic character. A dog, lion, eagle, black sheep and boar. All of these animals are connected to the greek hero Odysseus. I will explain my reasoning for each and what is on the base body of this species.

Laconian Dog: It was possible this breed of dog was the breed of Odysseus' dog Argos, his faithful companian who stayed home in Ithica awaiting his master's return.

Lion: While lion features are definitely an influence throughout each type, I decided having a more feline appearance may be more appealing to some. As for how this connects to the Greek hero, Odysseus is said on a couple of occasions in The Odyssey that he is lion like.

Eagle: While very much an animal of Zeus, it was also the omen to the suitors that Odysseus was on his way home from his travels.

Black Sheep: This animal is mentioned in The Odyssey as Odysseus' sacrifice for Tiresias, the prophet he met in the underworld. This prophet tried to help guide him home.

Boar: This I also tie to Athena, but Odysseus has a scar on his leg from a boar he took down, gaining Athena's attention

Wolf: This one is more EPIC the Musical inspired, as Odysseus + his crew, and Telemachus, are referred to as wolves. It felt right to add this as it gives a fluffier canine base body type.

Now, for traits that are common throughout these types. They all have a mane that is dominance dimorphic. A more dominant specimen will have a thicker/longer mane that can wrap around the entire neck, though they are considered uncommon. A less dominant specimen will have a smaller/shorter mane, sometimes becoming mohawk like. Mohawks are considered as an uncommon trait though.

Each is different and individual in color. Their skin can be any color under the sun, but their fur/wool/feathers have a more natural coloring to different animals. Most are influenced by reptilian colors, but they can have the colors of any animal connected to one of the chosen gods the creator of the character chooses.

Most Greepics at base either have wings or fins. Though 1/5,000 are known to have neither. These ones are known for having one of many different mutations.

Introduction

Hello! I'm Tyr, the runner of this blog! In person I don't go by that name, but it is the name of one of my fursonas, and this is my furry blog with some other things thrown in. Some things being something like my identity as an alterhuman, my queer identities/experiences, my hyperfixations, art of mine, and possibly me posting my commissioned art here.

Some things to know about me are...

Furry Fandom Things

I have two main 'sonas that are based off of my alterhuman identities. Comet, and Tyr. And I created a character today (the day I post this) named Ody, whose just a normal character based on a major hyperfixation of mine

While Comet isn't a fully correct interpretation of my identity, he was actually my first 'sona. He is representative of who I want to become. (The chibi piece was made as a vent piece). Comet is a sweetheart with a lot of love to give. He's very social and a little bit of a party animal, within reason.

Tyr, on the otherhand, is representative of me now. Tyr is a wolf, though art wise he is a Fenrir. He is a seclusive creature, unless it's with others he knows. He doesn't trust others easily and keeps to himself. When he does feel confident, he is a bit more sociable than normal.

Ody is still very new so I haven't figured out everything about him just yet. I plan on updating him as I work on his species, the Greepics.

Alterhuman Things

So I am alterhuman, I do not see myself as human in the sense of spiritually or mentally. That is how I experience the world and my identity in this community. I consider myself as Otherkin due to most of my identities falling under that umbrella.

All of these are different to me and how I experience the world around me. I do tend to have shifts, but that's only my experience.

Queer Things

Ok- so this may get lengthy as I find it very complicated to explain my identity as a queer person. I'll break it down by category.

Gender:

I am a transgender demiboy. Now, I have been feeling more fluid recently, but I still feel connected to these terms. I am AFAB/ftm trans. I identify as masculine, but not fully. I do want to transition to a more masculine presenting form.

Romantic attraction:

I am Omniromantic and Demiromantic. I have to have a connection to a person before I start feeling romantic feelings towards someone. Though, I do not mind dating anyone. Personality is most important to me, but I do see gender.

Sexual Attraction:

I identify as Demisexual and Androsexual. Much like Demiromantic, except for sexual attraction, I need a connection before I start thinking in that way. As for Androsexual, I am attracted to Masculine peoples.

Relationship Style:

I'm ambiamorous, that little in between area of being monogamous and polyamorous. I do not mind either way.

Art

I am more inclined to draw more cartoony than realistic. I enjoy more animalistic characters than humans as they're just easier for me. Though I have been slowly teaching myself more and more with humans. I do enjoy drawing fan art so I may be getting into that more and more. So I will be posting my art on here as time goes on.

Commissions

I do commissions on the side primarily, but I do not have a reliable source of income so I do have them open to people I'm close with. They're not open to others right now as I am still needing to make a terms of service for people to look at so they know my rule when they commission me.

Hyperfixations

EPIC: The Musical is one of my biggest hyperfixations right now, and I plan on finishing The Odyssey. I love the songs and have been listening to it the entire time I've been typing this.

I also know a decent amount about Dungeons and Dragons. I absolutely love the game and have been playing for about 3 years now.

I did have a major The Arcana: A Mystic Romance hyperfixation. It's died down, but I do enjoy the media and the original game. Not too happy with Dorian, but I am not gonna hate to be completely honest. As long as people understand boundaries.

Dragons, and I enjoy consuming any sort of media about them. Wings of Fire being a big part of my childhood.

I'll probably add more as I either gain or remember my hyperfixations. It's midnight as I'm typing this

Just updated my introduction on my open species account. I also started posting rules for my species. The links will be updated as time goes on as this is a pet project of mine (Along with a couple other things on a couple other accounts of mine.)

If you like Greek inspired species/characters, you may enjoy this one. Especially since this is an open species that anyone can create a character for. To Note: This species doesn't see gender the same as most other animals would. They categorize themselves based on their personality types. Normally the personality types aren't recognized until they are of age
