Plot: A masked serial killer turns a horror-themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show.

I totally forgot about this one. lol But mostly just because this was more a 'I put it on as background noise' kinda situation but I did pay enough attention that I gotta count it towards the challenge. I didn't expect much before pressing play so that helped. There being a couple familiar faces in the cast too. All horror related. lol I rather enjoyed Channel Zero which featured Amy Forsyth in Season 2. I never really got into the Scream tv series but I definitely remembered Bex Taylor-Klaus since fandom people seemed to really dig her character on it. She was our resident horror nerd character in this movie and you could tell she was relishing in the part. And ofc Mr. Candyman himself Tony Todd is featured as a carnival barker. So that whole part was cool. Otherwise it's kinda your typical mindless slasher tbh. Not winning any awards for originality but I did at least appreciate the concept of having a horror festival be the setting because that adds a little something. The killer had a very no-nonsense style. It was weird how he singled out the friend group out of all those people but then I don't think we were supposed to think about it that hard. lol It's hard to care for any of the characters even if they do try to set up the group dynamic as best they can at the beginning. So basically I guess this one comes down to how you like your slashers. The kills are decent if that's your thing. Nothing too special to me but I've seen people say they like how simple a story it is so, I guess it depends on your taste.

Reseña de la película “Get out” o “Huye”

Esta película del género principalmente de horror y Thriller, aunque poco de comedia. Nos muestra el racismo que aún se vive en los Estados Unidos de una manera hipócrita y humorista, el abuso y la perspectiva de la clase blanca hacia los negros.

En dicha cinta tenemos como protagonista a Chris Washington, un joven quien a su corta edad pierda a su madre por un accidente automovilistico. Recuerdo que con la ayuda del tiempo y el cigarrillo ha intentando olvidar. Su pasión por la fotografía lo lleva a conocer a una chica llamada Rose Armitage, la cual lo invita a conocer a su familia. Al precio lo duda. Sin embargo, con el apoyo de su mejor amigo decide ir.

Durante este trayecto vemos como los recuerdos de su difunta madre se hacen más fuerte. Al llegar conocemos a la familia Armitage. El padre un neurocirujano, la madre una psiquiatra que emplea la hipnosis como terapia y el hermano un psicópata que no demuestra mucho empeño en ocultarlo y por último el personal que trabaja en la casa que curiosamente son todos negros. A lo largo de su estancia, Chris nota una tensión, la cual se ve reforzada por los extraños comportamientos de la familia, incluida los empleados. El ambiente se torna más tenso cuando la madre de su novia de manera indirecta y forzada le hace experimentar la hipnosis por medio de una taza de té, elemento importante de la cinta que junto con el sonido de vacío nos permite sentir y entender la angustia que siente Chris al ser espectador de su propia vida, en la cual es incapaz de hacer algo.

El protagonista intenta huir después de experimentar este suceso, sin embargo, su novia lo tranquiliza, él le invita a quedarse. Resultando en una mala elección, ya que nuestra protagonista tendrá que enfrentar el hecho de que la familia de su novia quiere trasplantar la conciencia de un hombre blanco amigo de la familia a su cuerpo. Sentenciando a vivir en aquel vacío que había experimentado previamente. Al final, Chris logra matar a Rose y quemar todo rastro de evidencia que lo haya vinculado con el crimen y siendo rescatado por su mejor amigo.

Aunque la película cuenta con un final alternativo en donde Chris es arrestado y acusado del homicidio de toda la familia Armitage. Jordan Peele deja que el espectador decide el final que se desarrollará.

Un elemento a resaltar es la taza de té que si bien solo aparece por unos instantes juega un papel fundamental en la cinta a que es la “anestesia” y el control que utiliza para someter a las víctimas .

La vestimenta es otro elemento fundamental ya que las personas blancas poseen vestimenta tradicional, incluyendo a los empleados y el resto de personas de color bajo la hipnosis, conservando una mirada perdida y fría, mientras que Chris es el único que conserva una vestimenta contemporánea.

Huye o Get out es una cinta que nos muestra la verdad en todo momento, desde las apariencias y las intenciones de cada personaje, haciendo que el racismo hipócrita que demuestra cada uno sea perceptible en cada momento, ayudando a entender de mejor manera la cinta. Recomiendo que veas Huye o Get out realmente es una experiencia única, la cada uno de sus fotogramas te puede ofrecer.
