Okay so uhhh possible new sona design? But it's not "official" yet so I'm just treating them as an OC at the moment in my head. Finding a new sona for myself is a weird process for me, I don't know

Ramblings under the cut of my thought process (it's not really important but I just like to talk)

Okay so like, I've been feeling disconnected from Gruff for a while as I've previously mentioned so I've just been using Jas (one of my old sonas) as like a stand-in, but I'd still like an actual new sona per se since Jas just reminds me more of my old self than my current self. And like yeah, I still identify with who I used to be, but it's not the same

I wouldn't have normally chosen a griffin to represent myself because I kinda prefer to represent myself more with dogs/wolves and shit, but recently I've been recently falling in love with griffins (which is funny that it's only happening now given my user). So I decided to do a griffin but incorporating dog elements instead of a lion's because of that; for the eagle part of the griffin, I wanted it to be inspired by a native bird species from my state so I chose a barn swallow (fledgling technically, but I preferred that palette over the adult barn swallow). So by definition, this isn't actually a griffin given it's 2 species combinations, but it's meant to resemble one thus the title of "False Griffin"

As for the other design decisions I like a lot, I added the little dots on the chest as a nod to the chest markings on tan point dogs in order to add more "dog" to this guy. Also I chose purple eyes since that's become a close second favorite color. The other ideas for eye colors were blue and pink. But blue eyes made the design too blue in my opinion and the pink eyes didn't look great with this specific shade of orange (and I didn't think about this until typing, but purple is the combination of pink and blue lol)

Also the second doodle was done because I wanted to test if Glyph's design worked if I added more alternative accessories/more gloomy expressions. One of my main issues (if not the only issue) with Gruff is that he was too cutesy in my opinion, so it felt silly to use him while wearing more alternative clothing/accessories or use him in more serious pieces like vent art. But I think Glyph works pretty well?

Also as for the name Glyph, I just like the word! Also it sounds similar to the word "Griff"/Griffin. And Glyph just means some sort of symbol and symbols are kind of art-related and I'm an artist so that's fun too

Mute is a rather odd and old oc who only became a hunter after destiny dropped and I could fit him into the narrative as a Guardian. He is actually inspired from a very old clan member from one of my first clans.

And yes, that person was unable to speak. Mostly he communicated via messages or with the clan leader over texts. Mute takes his very base model personality from that except that *he can speak* there is no doubt he can't it's more he really hates his voice and will not use it often.

It also causes him pain to use due to how he was born. So yeah, he can speak, it sounds really off and he hates it. Mostly he uses ASL, and various other types mashed together.

For those who have been following him for a long while he was originally on Lysander's blog before getting this one here, I'm not really sure how long but it's likely over a year and a half at this point on Tumblr. Unlike Rez, he slowly developed into something I was comfortable rping with here. Since he is a sona, like Rez, I am rather close to him.

Why don't I described how he's signing? Because it would take a long time and my style doesn't really work well with what motions are made. If you absolutely want me to I can, but it will be slow and I will be a grumpy mun. Also this is rping, not writing a book and I am sadly too busy to write extensive detailing.

I don't post a lot in his bio, I don't like to give a lot away given how pieces get picked up by various others. He has a lot of issues that I keep well hidden unless approched for an rp. I do this on purpose. Rez sadly is the more widely known muse of mine and thus there is little I can do to keep people from mimicking him.

Basically, in the end, Mute was extensively researched in how someone with really horrific PTSD and insomnia would react to real world issues. He's a victim of child abuse, has dealt with patricide, has dealt with being rather horrible person filled with self loathing.

But he is also dynamic and interesting as an oc. I didn't want him to be perfect and strong, I wanted an oc that is constantly in the grey area of morality.

So...take him or leave him. But he is mine. And he is my sona. So please be respectful of him as a oc and as my intellectual property.
