its literally just bread. and butter. and CHEESE. but somehow when you put it all togther and make it all melty and crispy its like???? the most perfect food in existence????

Alfred makes the BEST ones with that fancy cheese that i cant even prenounce and some herb thing in the butter but honestly even the ones i make at 3am when im bleeding from a knife wound and can barely see straight are still AMAZING.

you know what else is cool? motorcyles. i was riding mine yesterday and almost crashed into a hot dog stand bc i was thinking about griled cheese and now im hungry again.

As far as Richard was concerned there was always something to worry about. In fact he maybe spent most seconds in a day thinking about all that stuff. No matter what was going on. Richard could very easily give a list of at least ten possible issues that could happen to make any situation going on, go wrong.

Was it tiring? Oh very much so. Richard was someone with an active mind however. In truth he wasn't sure if anything really ever turned his thoughts off.

But, on that list of things that could always lead to some sort of trouble? Richard had one thing repeated day after day. Because, well there was never truly knowing when Bailey would get in the sudden mood to set those pink paint talons into the kitchen. All on his own choosing. Why was this a constant possible worry everyday?

Well, if this was just anyone? It wouldn't. Richard wouldn't really pull his punches if it came to just anyone who had no business being in the kitchen, telling them as much. Especially, if they had Bailey's astounding horrific kitchen skills. But, this was Bailey who had those astounding horrific kitchen skills. And, sadly Richard would sooner drink the poison syrup from Starducks. Before he ever even thought of discouraging Bailey from giving cooking another attempt. Even if that set a heavy rock solid weigh to plumet to his stomach.

Love was sacrifice he internal sighed already accepting his fate as he made way to join Bailey in the kitchen. Eyeing the mess that he would need to clean up. Well if Richard survived this meal that was. "Pollito, do I need to be worried about you being in the kitchen without you asking me to make something?" Of course he knew what the rooster was up to but teasing Bailey was the best way to try and settle his stomach already aware of the incoming self inflicted punishment to come.

Though he was surprised when no fowl smells really crossed his beak. Just the obvious scent of melted cheese. Richard rose a brow when seeing the sandwich Bailey went to plate once finished. "A grilled cheese?" The eagle questioned, Bailey seemed proud of the finished result. It didn't look picture perfect but it didn't look like it belonged on a hazard warning sign either. Bailey's feathers seemed to fluff at the end result themself happily holding the plate to Richard.

It truly was unfair for those eyes to seem to grow so wide in moments like this. A clear plead from the rooster, and tiny shard of hope glimmering over those bicolored eyes. "Oh you were making it for me?" Richard asked, as if he hadn't known.

Bailey of course, wanted to learn to cook for a number of reasons. But, one was because well food was a way to express love. Tidbitting habit Richard figured, which was fair considering the egeal himself had that habit with the rocks. Of course, Bailey his rooster husband would have some of that as well.

"Pollito, you know you don't have to over do it just for my sake? You do so much more me. More than anyone." Richard offered.

"I'm tired of hearing excuses. Let me show you how I feel."

But Bailey's mind was set. Richard just offered a smile and took the plate. Richard's mind could easily think up all the possible ways for this sandwich to land Richard into being bed ridden but he put it away and took a bite. Expecting the worst, like overly cooked cheese to points of hardening. To the least of just brunt bread. To be well presently surprised.

"This is really good." Richard sounded just as amazed as he was to hear him say it. So there was no real room for Bailey to think Richard was just sparing his feelings in the moment. Richard even taking a second bite because it turely tasted that good for him. "You know I've never ate a grilled cheese before. If i'm honest I don't I ever do less you make." Richard continued to say mind thinking. "mmm Tomatoe soup and grill cheese is a common meal. I can handle the soup don't worry your purple feathers over that. But, I then you have to make the sandwiches." Richard suggested. "Could made some fun out of it, Buddy has heart shape cutter and when can try out some pink cheese. Make it a true Bailey special?" Richard tossed in before leaning over to gently kiss the top of the roosters head.

"After all isn't really trade mark to you till it's pink somehow?"

Remembering Edd Griles and Phil Lesh

Today we lost two entertainers. Here is my combined remembrance:

Remembering Edd Griles 1945-2024

Music video director Edd Griles has died at 78. He directed more than a few gems from the golden age of music videos, including Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "Time After Time" and (my favorite) "She Bop", Huey Lewis and The News's "Heart of Rock and Roll", "If This is It" and "Stuck with You", Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time", Wrestling All-Stars' "Land of a Thousand Dances", and Peter Wolf's "Oo-ee-diddley-bop" and "Come as You Are", as well as videos by Rainbow, Lee Greenwood, and Sheena Easton among others. Those were some incredible videos I remember seeing on MTV and V66 circa 1984-87. He also produced the very first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984.

Remembering Phil Lesh 1940-2024

Musician Phil Lesh has died at 84. He was the founding bassist for The Grateful Dead and was in the band from the beginning in 1965 to their end in 1995. I was never a Dead Head, but credit where credit is due, the band had some good songs and built up a cult following that followed them everywhere. He also took part in the post-Grateful Dead iterations including The Other Ones and The Dead.

Barbecued Grilled Shrimp

Once again, let's get the heat of the kitchen and out to the backyard or patio area and grill up some delicious, barbecued shrimp! A perfect Summer's day recipe that will keep your kitchen cool and serve up grilled plump, succulent shrimp on the "barbie". Have you noticed all the sales on shrimp in your local grocery ads? I have, so let's take advantage of them. Remember, a pound of shrimp is a pound of shrimp no matter what size. Select the size most appropriate or what you prefer for your particular recipe. In this case 16-20 count shrimp works well, but larger shrimp will give you that "wow" factor....
