Sivagiri Mutt [ Varkala,Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala ]

Sivagiri is a pilgrimage center in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Shivagiri Mutt is the place where the renowned social reformer, Shri Narayana Guru, takes his last rest. The Math was founded in 1904. Thousands of devotees flock here to see the burial ground of this great man who has awakened to the society a universal philosophy of one nation, one religion and one God. Visiting hours are from 5.30 am to 12 noon and 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Gurujayanthi and Samadhi are celebrated every year during the months of August and September respectively.
