As humans were being phased out of the final war, getting blood onto the battlefield slowly became a logistical nightmare. After all, machines need fresh blood and even when stored in peak conditions that vital red stuff expires after around a month.

So, how do you get blood to machines when there aren't any humans on the battlefield to take from? the enemy of course! if you could get one of your machines behind something like a gutterman you could get PLENTY of blood from it.

ofc, this was the logic used when they manufactured the ultrakill oc above! It's not really shown in the artwork of em, but bloodsuckers have giant needle/syringe things attached to their arms which allow them to stab into machines and suck whatever blood they can out from em to store in small canisters or refuel themselves.

To counter larger/more dangerous machines, they would work in groups to surround and distract! that's part of the reason they have giant bunny ears too, they can receive information without the need for speaking and can sort of keep the enemy in the dark.

now ofc, there are a couple of flaws with their design, like their limbs are a bit skeletal and within the conditions of the trenches would get HEAVILY rusted, as they're meant to work in groups the bloodsuckers are generally more fragile and require frequent parts replacement, and when they do suck out blood, they take out all of it any hard damage included :3

overall? decent machines, but they also cannot survive all that well without the support humanity provided. i'm kinda thinking that this led to a bunch of bloodsuckers just cannibalizing one another for parts after humanity's extinction, but hey maybe they turned into scrapheads after a while idk x3
