My mom made her wedding dress. She got married in 1948. This dress is satin and lace made from a Vogue pattern (yes I have the pattern too). I found scraps with the dress. I was going to cut into the dress today to make a portion of the handfasting cord for my daughter’s wedding but I think I can do it with the scraps! Then on to cut up my dress. Wish me luck! These are my wedding handfasting cords that I made it only took me about 2 days and I also added a heart knot in the center of them. Another bespoke Handfasting Cord we recently crafted... This one is the colour "Tempest" and was handspun by @drucillapettibone with the natural wool of her sheep. I then crafted the three silver antique charms picked by the couple (featuring a Pentagram, Waxing Moon and Sunrise symbols) and embroidered them onto the Cord along with the crystal gems they chose.
