Synopsis: Among the Huntrix fandom, there has always been a discussion of theories and ideas about a strange voice in every song from the girls. Something of which they have avoided in every interview. But the one behind it is so much more than they could possibly think. Unraveling her secrets attracts attention she’s yearned yet feared for her life.

In the large fandom of the ever popular group HUNTR/X, there has always been a pool of theories and discussions about a certain aspect in there songs.

What is that voice in the background?

Ever since their debut, a haunting yet beautiful voice has always been present in every release down to solos and performances.

Combing through every interview, social media content, and performances, fans have tried to figure out who this voiced belonged to.

Overanalysing each of the girls voices weren’t enough.

Nothing matched to that haunting feeling.

And yet…

It always filled them with a sense of comfort.

”Girls, there is someone I’d like you to meet.”

Curiosity fills the newly formed hunters of the current generation as Celine lead the three of them to the garden. Just at the foot of the tree stands an older women who looked the same age as Celina, though she had a messily tied up bun being held up by a hair pin with noticeable greys along dyed caramel streaks.

Just behind the women was another girl who has a more shaggy appearance judging from the strange uneven cuts of hair around her collarbone and messy fringe covering up her eyes.

The women turns around to meet the other girls with a strange gold rim around her brown eyes.

“Girls, this is (M/N). The previous fourth hunter. And behind her is (Y/N), the new fourth hunter.”

As soon as that was announced, the three girls were filled with shock.

“THERES A FOURTH HUNTER?!”

“For how long?! How come you’ve never trained with us?” Rumi questions. “We’ve had some… complications trying to meet up. The original plan was for Rumi and (Y/N) to meet when they were younger, but things didn’t go to plan.” (M/N) answers with a polite but cold tone. The gold rimmed eyes don’t help them feel better.

”Come on (Y/N), say hi to them.”

Peaking behind her mother that met with the trio of girls, shivering (f/c) eyes with the same intriguing gold rims around. She dressed much more casual, like she just came from lounging on the couch prior.

“Hi… its nice to meet you guys.”

The anticipated softness of her voice struck an unexpected cord in the girls. Something alluring and melodic.

”We’ve decided that (Y/N) will join Huntrix.”

Once those words left Celine’s mouth, the girls swiftly saw the colour drain from (Y/N)’s face.

Slowly turning her head.

”WAIT! WHAT?! YOU SIGNED ME UP FOR THIS?! NO NO NO NO NO! YOU DID NOT CONSULT ME ON THIS MUM! REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME I TRIED PERFORMING?!”

Her surprising booming voice made the girls take a step back for a bit. Though the three snapped out of their shock when seeing (Y/N). Sweat glistened on her forehead and her breathing was steadily going ragged. She was shaking her mother like her life depended on it.

“No no no. NOT performing. We agreed on that. You’re just taking over my previous position in the Sunlight Sisters, just a backing vocalist.”

(Y/N) froze for a second. Before collapsing onto her mother, looking like she ran a marathon.

“Celine should’ve mentioned that first. Don’t worry honey.”

Rumi could hear (Y/N) muttering inaudible words of gratitude.

But she looked like she was on the verge of tears.

And yet…

Her slowly calming voice struck a nerve of peace in the three hunters.

If there was one thing I excelled at in our relationship, it was being loved… aggressively and unapologetically. Especially when it came to vacations.

Like this one.

We were currently on a boat off the coast of some turquoise-water island—one I definitely couldn’t pronounce—sun kissing my skin, drink in hand, while my girlfriends made sure I didn’t lift a finger the entire time.

And no, I didn’t plan a single thing.

Well, not entirely true.

I did bring up the idea of a vacation.

That had to count for something.

“Okay, baby,” I grinned, adjusting my bikini strap as I sat on the lounge chair, phone in hand. “Let’s do that trend. The one with the ‘I’m so-and-so and I…’ thing.”

Paige looked up from where she was flipping through the resort’s room service menu. “That trend where couples flex on each other?”

“Yup,” I nodded, turning to Azzi. She was standing by the edge of the boat in a cute cover-up, hair up in a pineapple puff, sunglasses resting on her head. “We’re doing it.”

Azzi smirked. “Don’t tell me you’re about to do it just to brag about how you didn’t do anything.”

“I would never,” I said, grinning and opening the TikTok app.

“Liar,” Paige muttered under her breath with a teasing smile, sipping her drink.

“Okay, so we’ll film clips, and I’ll edit it later. Just trust me, the internet is gonna eat this up.”

Cut to the TikTok:

Azzi added with a chuckle, “And you sent it at two a.m. with the message: ‘do we even live life if we’re not in bikinis sipping something fruity at least twice a year?’”

“EXACTLY,” I pointed dramatically. “Vision. Leadership. Initiative.”

Paige came over and kissed the top of my head. “Delusion.”

Azzi sat beside me, offering a piece of watermelon to my lips. “But make it pretty.”

I took the fruit and smiled. “See? That’s why I keep y’all around.”

The comments were blowing up.

“NOT THE HARSH CUT AFTER Y/N SAYS ‘I’m Y/N and I—’ 😭😭😭”

“No but Y/N living every soft girl’s dream???”

“This is what it means to be the favorite child and the wife.”

“Azzi and Paige are taking turns raising this one like she’s the royal baby.”

“Y’all sure she didn’t marry into royalty??”

I showed the phone to Azzi and Paige, who were cuddled up with me on the hammock outside our villa.

“Look! The fans get it,” I said proudly. “I am a spoiled princess.”

Azzi rolled her eyes fondly. “Glad they know.”

Paige smirked. “Glad you know.”

I leaned against them, sighing happily as the night breeze swept through.

“Next vacation,” I mumbled. “Let’s go skiing.”

Azzi groaned. “Babe, no. You hate the cold.”

“Exactly. That’s why you’ll carry me down the slopes.”

Spoiled Princess Privilege™ was alive and thriving.

And I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

After some more discussion with members of the fandom in the notes of my poll asking about a community and elsewhere, it seems like the better option for everyone might actually be a new tag, so I'm making a new poll here!

Some answers to questions I think people might have are below the readmore:

Q: Why are all of these only one word?

A: For the same reason the dpxdc tag is only one word! Tumblr's tagging implementation is Not Good. Tags with spaces don't play well with it, and especially don't play well with blocked tags. If someone wants to block non-crossover Danny Phantom content, we want to make it as painless as possible for them.

Q: What issues were raised around communities?

A: A few! To name some of them:

Limited interactions with posts: Communities only let you react with emoji and leave comments on posts reblogged into them. Not great, if we want to have long reblog chains riffing on one another

Original Posters aren't notified if someone else reblogs their post into a community, even if it's public. So if someone reblogged your post into the community for you, you wouldn't know about it -- or know to look for people interacting with it.

Communities have mods, and therefore would need trustworthy, engaged mods to make it work. Over a short time frame, we could probably manage it! But over a longer one, a community for an entire fandom would probably have moderator drama. That could lead to fracturing, or people leaving specifically because they don't like the mods, etc. A tag is a lot less active maintenance.

A few people also expressed a general dislike for the feature, even if they were willing to move to one. This seems like a much smaller change that will let those people stay away from a feature they don't like, while interacting with the content they do.

Q: What about less-common crossovers? Won't those get excluded from this tag?

A: They will. I'm asking about this poll first because I figured getting the community to make a decision about the other crossovers would be easier if we'd already decided on the non-crossovers.

The current idea is to move those to their own tag as well, so they can get dedicated attention from the crossover enthusiasts who love them. One of the people I talked to about this runs the niche-dp-crossovers blog, so it's on the radar. If you have concerns or suggestions about that, the notes on this post is as good a place as any to suggest them!

Your response in your reblog on the post about collections and series made me think of something since you mentioned that the works in the series are meant to be read in order and collections can be enjoyed separately. I have a whole bunch of AU stories (9 in total, possibly 10 if I decide to post the one I’m working on now) and I was thinking of posting them in a series since they’re all of the same fandom, the same characters are usually involved (meaning sometimes all while other times just a few of them), the only difference is is how they get together with their significant other. I figured putting them in a series would be good since the first AUs take place when the characters are in high school and then later on the AUs are of them in their twenties. But now I’m wondering whether I should instead post them as a collection. What do you think?

I hope whatever I said wasn't as prescriptive as that. I tend to work in terms of generalities rather than in specific rules. That said, I do say a lot of stuff on this blog so it's entirely possible that was just how I felt that day.

Today, I would say that series definitely lend themselves to stories being told in a certain order. You can even re-order the works in a series if you write a new fic that you want to put in between two existing ones.

That doesn't mean that works in a series must be read that way, though. It's just a benefit to using the series function over a collection.

If having them in a series has worked for you thus far, I don't think you need to worry about changing it. I think series are probably the more common choice for grouping works together by a single author, anyway.

I just have to ask them, since that cult won't stay out of Jikook spaces or off Jikook's back. Why do you want Tae to date Jk, who you claim does fanservice & hurts him? Why do you want Tae to date Jk, who prioritizes another man over him? Why do you want Tae to date JK, who spends couple days with another man and not him? Why do you want Tae to date JK, who enlisted with another man over him? Why do you want Tae to date JK, who told 20 million people he showers with another man? Why do you want Tae to date JK, who went on vacations with another man & created a show together, said he wanted to do the show for 50 years with him, where Tae had no clue & found out through group chat and had to insist on coming himself? Why do you want Tae to date Jk, when he was clearly happy with someone else?

These are valid questions. Nothing here would be considered healthy or romantic. So what do you get out of it then, if TK is real? Wanting to see them date cause they're hot? Popular? or cause you're scared to see your bias with someone else so you say its cosplayers & use JK to feel better? Clearly its not because you think they're in love, because you don't love someone & do 'fanservice' with someone else, shower with someone else & tell the world while throwing it in your partners face or leave someone you love to enlist with someone else, when you had a chance to be together. They can't answer it cause its never been about TK, its about them wanting it for them no matter how toxic it is. What does that cult think is gonna happen? Jk is gonna get out of the shower with Jimin and go get in Tae's shower? What do PJM's think is gonna happen. Jimin is gonna leave Jk's side after 18 months and never speak to him again? What do JJK's think is gonna happen. Jk is gonna drop Jimin and marry them or some woman to fulfill their fantasies? All this crashing out over Jikook since enlistment & discharge & traveling together from all sides, is pure insanity. All while JIkook are living their best lives without a care in the world about your negativity or your tears. This fandom needs a real reality check.

You know what’s funny, anon? Taekookers are losing their minds over Jungkook traveling with Jimin to multiple countries right after his military discharge even though, on the day Jungkook was discharged ,Tae was off hanging out with his Wooga friends. You never see them upset at Tae for not being there with Jungkook, even though you’d think that’s when a boyfriend would be expected to show up. But God forbid Jungkook decides to spend time traveling with someone he’s just spent 18 months with in the military.

The reason Taekookers are so quick to strip Jungkook of his autonomy and paint him as some kind of puppet is because deep down, they know that if Taekook were truly in a relationship, then it’s clearly not an ideal one. So to cope, they convince themselves that everything Jungkook does for, to, or with Jimin is either forced or tied to some contractual obligation. That way, Jungkook isn’t a “bad boyfriend” he’s just doing what he has to do. He’s not choosing to be with Jimin, he’s simply following orders.

They’ll say anything to avoid admitting that Jungkook does these things with Jimin because he wants to. But of course, it wouldn’t make sense to them that Jungkook would rather travel the world with Jimin than spend quality time with a “boyfriend” he barely saw for 18 months so instead, they twist the narrative to fit their fantasy.

Truth is, they want Taekook to be in a romantic relationship so badly that they’ll accept any theory no matter how far-fetched as long as it protects that illusion.

Fraxus Week 2025

is in course of preparation! There have been two mod changes on this blog and we are still on a tight schedule in our private lives but this Fraxus Week is the one time of the year that we will not miss out on in fandom life. Um, here’s my suggestion to the DP fans who want to only DP content… why not make your own tag??

I’ll probably sound passive aggressive when saying this but I understand. It’s super frustrating trying to find content for one fandom and then seeing completely different content.

Why not make a ‘dp only’ tag? That way anyone could find any sort of Danny Phantom only content without having to scroll through countless of other works to get to it.

I get it, it’s much more easy to put up a wall than build a bridge but creating an entirely new tag for yourselves can also be a rather constructive choice!

(My only question is… why is this an issue now rather than earlier? Is this something a lot of DP fans have been already thinking or it more so a recent thing??)

Edit: I posted something similar in the comments and I have a reblog up for anyone to see but I’ll say it here as well! This post was likely founded in my own hurt!! I personally think it felt entitled for me to say, someone else said it sounded condescending. Those two things don’t exactly contradict each other!!

(But the condescension part might’ve been just my lack of understanding of how my words come across to others due to the autism thing, but y’know, no excuse unless my entire family also happened to die before I wrote this. Which did NOT happen if you’re wondering, I’m just scared they will and that’s like, super different.)

I have had a history of being pushed out of things and spaces in which I should’ve been accepted into (ex: autism spaces, other fandoms, friendships). I was trying to ‘nice’ and also give my own opinion at the same time. (A skewed opinion.) I knew the whole discourse made me feel… bad but I didn’t know where it came from and I just posted this in an impulsive decision.

Not necessarily to go ‘ha! Losers!’ But to put up sort of shield to defend myself. So, I am sorry. For the condescension and for the passive aggressiveness. I already knew that was a problem in my speech but I didn’t realize it was THAT bad.

Uhh, let me review the things I did wrong. (I like lists.)

First off, I disregarded a group of people’s feelings for my own. Second, I decided to ‘bring up a solution’ that was more so a half assed compromise which was likely already someone else’s suggestion as well. Third, I also just so ‘happened to forget’ that the DP tag… WAS your tag. That you should be able to go through it without someone else shoving content from a different fandom in your face in all directions.

I mean, if I want my feelings to be heard, I should be hearing other people’s feelings too. It’s not fair for me to bring up my own opinions, expect them to be taken as seriously as anybody else’s, and then not give that treatment. And also I should probably learn impulse control?? I think I have a grip on it unless I feel hurt. Otherwise I’m fine.

It was probably, to me, that the post I first saw about it made it feel like people were going ‘…get out?’ (The post I saw was one asking for people to exclusively use the DP x DC tag for those kinds of posts. Which, in itself, is actually not a bad idea and would allow for further freedom as people are allowed to be separate but connected to the DP fandom and perhaps even the DC fandom.)

Basically, I was projecting my own past trauma onto this random person who just felt frustrated they had to scroll past what felt like a million posts just to get to the fandom they wanted to see. And the kind of posts they saw, might’ve not been the kind that they wanted to see at all which is even more frustrating. They likely wrote in a moment of frustration and it kind of came off as such in their writing. But that doesn’t mean that my reaction is their fault in the slightest.

It means I had a reaction to something I felt was hurtful. I’ve written this line before but when I sat down and actually thought about it all it felt all the truer. ‘They aren’t trying to give you a bad time, they are having one’. I made it about me— which was not cool of me.

So, again, I am sorry. I hope this comes across as me actually taking accountability for my actions and not another passive aggressive fat amount of text like I fear it will be.

Thank you, though! To the people who were so, so nice in the comments. You weren’t, like, mean to me about this even though I was sounding pretty bratty. Some were a little frustrated but it was in a way that I could understand and your hearts were all in the right place. Because even though this seems very small— a fandom having a space on Tumblr to be able to see their own content— it gives people a place where they can meet people who like the same things and even make friends out of it. this is my attempt at creating a definitive list of information on what kirk experienced on tarsus iv for fic writers and other fans who want to know wtf is up with kirk's backstory.

first of all: at its core, this episode is tos's take on the nazis who escaped capture. adolf eichmann was only found in 1960, and would certainly have been in the public memory as a high profile nazi who managed to make a new life under an assumed name. he was not the only one to have escaped capture, and I don't think I need to explain which conspiracy theory the circumstances of kodos's faked death call to mind.

this episode was an exploration of what form cruelty and authoritarianism might take in star trek's universe, with a huge amount of influence from shakespeare's work. the two together make up this central dilemma: is it kodos? might kirk be condemning an innocent man? if it is kodos, does kirk have the right to act as judge, jury, and executioner? is it possible for someone who carried out terrible acts to live a new life somewhere else, and not have the violence follow?

SPOCK: You may not have heard it all. Kodos began to separate the colonists. Some would live, be rationed whatever food was left. The remainder would be immediately put to death. Apparently he had his own theories of eugenics.

MCCOY: Unfortunately, he wasn't the first.

SPOCK: Perhaps not. But he was certainly among the most ruthless, to decide arbitrarily who would survive and who would not, using his own personal standards, and then to implement his decision without mercy. Children watching their parents die. Whole families destroyed. Over four thousand people. They died quickly, without pain, but they died. Relief arrived, but too late to prevent the executions. And Kodos? There never was a positive identification of his body.

the thing is, this introduces a number of inconsistencies. it could easily be chalked up to confusion between multiple drafts of the script, but if you want to look deeper and see where the information comes from, you'll notice the two survivors have very different stories than the official starfleet record.

specifically, spock says that they died quickly and painlessly, and though he is sure that karidian is kodos, he does not seem to treat him as a legitimate threat to anyone's safety. we don't know if kodos ever directly killed anyone, or if he only gave the orders. but kirk and leighton seem to agree on the violence: leighton refers to his own injury as "the bloody thing (kodos) did", and kirk recalls kodos "blasting" others out of existence. it's possible kirk was saying it to confuse kodos, so kodos might say "that's not how it happened" and give himself away. it's also possible that leighton sustained his injury at a different time than the massacre. it seems likeliest to me in any case that the information on the ship's computer is not the entire truth.

which also means you can headcanon whatever you want and nobody can tell you definitively that you're wrong. be free with your tarsus iv headcanons.

exploring the tarsus iv lore (or lack of it) has led me to this sort of consensus in the fandom that kirk was looking after a group of children. I think it's a very cool way of exploring how central it is to his character that he has to be in control, protecting people, and fighting back, and I've read and enjoyed some absolutely fantastic fics with that premise. even william shatner seems to agree. in his novel collision course (which gives kirk and spock a sort of alternate first meeting as teenagers and gives some great insights into how shatner viewed kirk's backstory), kirk ().

the ship's computer specifies the number of survivors later in the episode as nine, and lists them as

Kirk, J., Leighton, T., Moulton, E., Riley, K., Eames, D.

before kirk cuts it off. once leighton dies, the last two surviving are kirk and riley.

the novelization by james blish names a couple more characters, and in order of age: Leighton, T., Molson, E., Kirk, J., Wiegand, R., Eames, S., and Daiken, R., which was what they called the role of kevin riley initially. he is specified as being five years old at the time, and kirk is not a child or teen but a midshipman.

and collision course names still more characters. edith zaglada, an eight year old girl who kirk saw killed. donny, tay, and billy are named as other survivors. this novel doesn't get into kodos's motivations or kirk's circumstances, but it gives us two new characters, griffyn and matthew, who are teenagers employed by kodos as bounty hunters for escapees of the initial massacre. starfleet arrives just as edith is shot and griffyn is trying to convince matthew to shoot kirk. we don't really know if kirk knew any of the other survivors, but he mentions edith's name specifically a few times as a death that affected him a lot. it's heartbreaking to watch city on the edge of forever with that in mind. I also can't find a source for anyone calling him JT, but collision course does call him jimmy during the flashback chapters.

crucially, the novel isn't technically canon. so you can have your gang of children led by JT, or you can have jimmy stick with a couple of people, or you could do something totally your own. none of these are wrong! do whatever your heart desires.

disclaimer it has been a long ass time since i read/watched any of suzanne collins' masterpieces but i'm doing my best with what i remember

i was thinking about the response to the hunger games when it first came out and how the irony of it is sort of old news at this point and now i can't stop thinking about how the exact same thing happened with squid game only worse in many ways.

context: the hunger games effect is the irony that one of the main themes in the book is everyone watching and ignoring the atrocities and societal failures at the root of it all in favour of swooning at a love triangle. and then the movies came out and everyone watching was ignoring the atrocities and societal failures at the root of it all in favour of swooning at a love triangle.

(for the most part, and way back when it came out. we've come a long way since then which is nice)

and then squid game released and the exact same thing happened but infinitely worse than just fandom discourse and somehow even MORE dystopian.

squid game at its core is about class division and how normal people are willing to do terrible things if it means escaping poverty. how the rich prey on the poor and milk them for all they're worth, for money or entertainment. how a capitalist society benefits nobody except those at the top. how someone will subject themselves to any level of pain or humiliation just to get out of debt. how even after seeing the first round of brutality and fearing for their lives, people will come back voluntarily and do it all again if they're desperate enough.

the point is not to want to be there. the point is to feel enraged at the people preying on the disadvantaged, to be horrified at how meaningless human life can become to someone for the sake of money, to wonder what it would take for you to feel the same.

and then rich people decided it was a good idea to do it for real. something something torment nexus.

i know that preaching about media literacy sounds a lot like 'look at me, i'm better than you because i understand The Themes'. but i don't understand how it keeps happening because most of it is about as subtle as a brick through a window. children forced to kill eachother = bad. poor people risking their lives = bad. surely that should be enough, even when it's muffled with nice clothes or a marketable game.

i can't be too mean to anyone back when THG first came out for overlooking the absolute atrocity of it all for 'which boy will it be', ESPECIALLY since most of us were similar ages to the characters. it's the kind of thing that doesn't really hit you until you're an adult and realise how helpless you actually are as a child, even if you don't know it at the time. honestly if anything it makes it even more effective, since it proves that people are susceptible to distraction tactics if it means they can ignore what's really going on, and if the girl is pretty enough.

and in the same way i can't fault the people who were part of squid game: the challenge or mrbeast's clusterfuck or even just going to the squid game escape room things they've made now. because it's a 'have your cake' kind of thing. you get to find out if you would survive, and you don't have to kill anyone, and MAYBE you win the lottery. and even though being subjected to filming conditions + unflattering editing isn't FUN, deep down you know that at the end of the day, you get to go home.

and you don't have to think about what you would do if the death game was real because it isn't, it's just an idea that someone has given you the most palatable piece of.

Bucky Barnes x Gender Neutral Reader

Ch. 1 - Ch. 3

Synopsis: Bucky Barnes is still healing, still in therapy, he's been doing a little better but the adjustment is still rough, especially the romantic side of things. New dating rules, new societal expectations, it's all....a bit much. But he's forced to enter a new part of life he realizes it needs to be on his new list to live with himself.

Warnings: some cursing, lil touch on negative thoughts.

Notes: alpine mentioned! bucky is emo in this but its ok we love our emo king.

Reminders: No use of Y/N. Diverges from movies/shows canon a bit. Takes place during TFAWS. Will be a slow burn, will have a lot of fluff, will probably have a bit of angst but all happy endings here this fandom is already allergic to happiness enough.

Word count: about 2k (it's like 2 over)

Finally, finally, Bucky was done with therapy. But now he had a new assignment, making a list of things that he thinks he doesn't deserve. He held the notebook and pen Dr. Raynor had given him at the end of their session in his gloved hand as he walks down the busy sidewalk.

If he was honest with his therapist, he could write a whole book about everything he doesn't deserve. The list was endless: Sam, Steve, hell even Alpine, who was in the apartment alone and here he was thinking about stopping by a cat cafe, just to name a few. He waits at the crosswalks, the red hand staring down at him across the street. Bucky could see the cat cafe, it was just a little bit further down left of the road he was at now, he could go to the cafe, but then he would be thinking about Alpine the whole time and wouldn't be able to get done with the damn list.

Bucky sighs and crosses the street as the sign changes, deciding to go back to his apartment instead of the cafe, he can always go a different day. He doesn't pay much attention to whats around him as he walks, he never really needed too, everything was instinct by now, to brush past strangers, narrowly avoid the cyclists, and maybe that's a little bit of why he decided to stay in New York. Bucky was too used to needing constant change, his brain being pushed to max usage all the time, a scene similar to war, just with less blood.

Cause it was days like this where suddenly he had a change.

Bucky walks down the sidewalk, taking the longer walk home. Even if it was loud and busy and the air was all polluted with smoke, his walks still helped him clear his head. But when he reaches the other sidewalk, his super senses barely save him from being crashed into by a frantic civilian sprinting.

"Wait! Raccoon!" You were running, and Bucky was a little alarmed. He didn't realize that you were running after a cat, he thought you were mugged, trying to get back a wallet, or a purse, but one glance at the look of panic on your face and Bucky knew, that you were running after something much more important.

Bucky had almost lost Alpine once, it was when she was younger, Bucky wanted to see if she'd go on walks and enjoy the city. Long story short, she did not, and thankfully she didn't run into the street like Bucky thought she did but was instead in the tree with a bird in her mouth.

Of course he took a picture of that and sent it to Sam. Looks like little white panther got the little falcon.

But he wouldn't ever forget the fear he felt and how his blood felt like it was frozen when he was looking at the street, about to stop cars, expecting to see a streak of red and a mess of white fur on the cement. So that's why he took off running with his super human speed behind the strangers cat that was dashing through the sidewalk.

Or maybe it was because he lived in the 40's and was just a chivalrous man.

When he managed to catch up to the cat, who was backed up in an alley, all it did was hiss. You'd think that Bucky Barnes would be some kind of cat whisperer since he had his own cat, but it seemed like he was quite the opposite. Lucky for him, he had a few cat treats on hand, he pulled one out of the pocket on his chest and reached it out to the cat.

"Hey, it's ok" He murmurs quietly. He tossed the treat in front of the cat, letting it eat without having to come to him. "I'm not gonna hurt you" He says softly as he slowly walks closer.

As he gets a closer and calmer look at the cat, he can start to tell it's young, maybe just half a year old. It was a beautiful cat though, calico, with a surprising amount of orange fur. He remembers the name you had called out and decides to use it, hoping that it'll keep it calm.

"Raccoon?" The cat's ear twitches, he sighs in minor relief, not even pausing to think about what an interesting name that was. He just hoped that maybe the cat would let him pick it up. "Yeah...that's your name huh? Aren't ya pretty." He takes the glove off his right hand and gently pets the cat. "I'm gonna pick you up now alright?" He murmurs before gently picking the cat and cradling it in his arms.

Thankfully the cat doesn't whine, or meow, or try to jump away. It seemed content with the treat that he had thrown it earlier and just licks on it quietly as Bucky stands up and walks out of the alleyway. He looks around for the owner, and he sees you after a moment, out of breath, but still sprinting down the sidewalk. Your eyes spark with relief as you see him holding their cat, and you slow to a walk.

"Oh my-" You try to catch their breath before speaking. "Thank you. Thank you so much I-" You stand before him and take a few more breaths before being able to speak properly again. "You're actually amazing. How did you run that fast?"

Gently taking the cat from him, you murmur to her quietly, "You're such a silly girl, running away like that, you scared me you silly fur ball." You were just so relieved. You almost thought you already lost a cat you had adopted just hours earlier. Looking back at Bucky you apologize, "I'm so sorry for almost running into you earlier, I just adopted her, like an hour ago, and I head out and somehow she get's out of her leash and starts running after god knows what." You chuckle and shake your head as you look down at your cat again. "What am I gonna do with you, little miss."

Bucky hadn't said a word the whole interaction, he silently let you take the cat back and barely even nodded at your explanantion. When he realized you were done talking he nodded again "Not a problem. Just glad the cat didn't die." He grimaces slightly at what he said. Didn't die? Jesus what type of pessimistic-

Your laugh catches him off guard and pulls him out of his thoughts. "Oh don't you worry, I've heard this one has some crazy preservation skills. I adopted her from the cat cafe and boy they had quite the stories to tell me". You stroke her head and scratch her behind her ears as you talk to the incredibly handsome stranger in front of you. Suddenly you were grateful you decided to have a change of heart and get the cat. But you couldn't push away this small lingering feeling that this man looked familiar.

"Oh," Was all Bucky had to say. He was caught off guard, the tiniest bit out of breath from running, shy because of the very attractive stranger in front of him, and on top of it all, was already a little socially awkward. He clears his throat and tries to say something to save face, "Her name's Raccoon?" Bucky reaches out his ungloved hand to pet her while you hold her, "Real interesting name for a cat." He sounds so serious, even for a lighthearted topic like this, if someone didn't know english and just listened in, you'd think that he was telling you your grandma died.

You seem oddly unperturbed by his stoic and serious behavior. You just smile and nod "Yeah, Raccoon, I didn't name her though, she was dropped off 3 months ago in a shelter by a couple who was moving overseas and renting in a place that didn't allow pets and then eventually she ended up in the cat cafe. I think I've figured out why they named her Raccoon though."

A smile graces you face as you look down at the small cat in your arms holding onto the treat in its paws surprisingly well. "Almost like she got thumbs" Bucky grunts.

You look at him with mild amusement as you nodded, "Sure is." His eyes catch you off guard when he really looks at you. They were an almost reflective blue, it felt almost pervasive, like they pierced through every single one of your thoughts and he knew exactly what you were thinking. "But uhm, thank you again..." You trailed off, realizing you never asked him his name or gave him yours.

"James," He finally offered a smile, however brief and faint it might've been, it still made you feel like ice cream melting on a sidewalk during a New York summer. You can't help but smile back, again, feeling a little giddy that you made this extremely attractive stranger in front of you, smile.

You introduce yourself, your thoughts whirring with how you could possibly meet him again, maybe get his number? But the latter idea felt too formal. He was already stepping back to leave when you decide to speak on impulse, "You're really good with cats, do you have one?" Your cheeks turn darker when you wait for him to reply.

"I..do. Yeah." He nodded. "Alpine," he offers, almost tentatively, like he was skittish and about to disappear down the alleyway where Raccoon had tried to go earlier. But he still seemed a little calmer, like he'd let you continue getting closer to him if you tried.

You smile and nod "Alpine, that's a beautiful name." An idea starts to form in your head as you keep speaking, "I know we just met, but I'd at least really like to make it up to you for chasing my cat down the sidewalk and into a creepy alleyway, maybe at the new cat cafe I just got this one from? Their croissants and cinnamon rolls are surprisingly good." Normally, you were never were this forward, you had no idea what came over you but you had a feeling that you should, or you'd regret it and it would become one of the things that keep you up at night.

Bucky was surprised as hell, to say at the least. Would this be a date? He wasn't mad about the forwardness but it most definitely wasn't expected either. How could he even ask if it was a date? A date would probably be a bad idea right now though, he literally needed to work on a list of things that he didn't deserves and at the top of that list was any form of romantic or platonic love.

And just like that he snaps back to normal and you can see it. How the slightest bit of tension that had eased from his shoulders tightened again and the way his faint smile from earlier disappears and he goes back to being stoic. "Don't worry about it, I don't mind. You don't need to pay me back." He responds on autopilot as he pets Raccoons head one more time before putting on his leather glove back on. "Just make sure you get a better leash for her." He nods in your direction and just walks away without another word.

You're left stinging. Well, honestly it wasn't that deep. But you rarely put yourself out there like that, and he was so dismissive it felt like a fire ant crawling up your spine and biting every single one of your nerves. What a bitch. Now you're left in a stupid alleyway with a cat that'll probably run away again before you get back to your apartment, regardless of how much you love it.

For some reason the fact that he never told you how he could run that fast also pissed you off. What a great fucking day.

i highly rec experimenting on mspaint sometimes nyall . i was yapping with my friend rory on this but its really like you can just drop that perfectionism mindset you automatically get into while on your Big Art Programs and feel more free to experiment. its also just good practice :3 you can get more textures n whatnot than you think if you lock in with the paintbrushes [also one has fucking pen pressure available??????? at least it vaguely seemed to work if you look in the top right corner. ive never seen that hsit in my life

Your feeling is not wrong, she's a favourite to draw!

But if I had to choose one, favourite design ever out of the ten, it would be the one for Shine (aka Monk, I really need to start using the names I gave them all for the AU here as well, gahh)

It's a surprising choice for me, because when it came to in-game depiction + popular fandom interpretations of Monk, I never really liked the guy (not disliked, just didn't think about the character a lot and found others more interesting). I don't usually dig the "peaceful, kind, happy" archetype characters in media in general, it's just not my thing, and most "fanmade character extensions" of Monk I've seen just expanded on that alone. It's not that they're anyhow wrong! They're just really not my thing and it always itches me to introduce more contrast or flavor in personalities of that sort. It's suprisingly hard to write a character who is mainly just really pure and avoids conflict, at least for me. Unhinged beasts with weird morals are sometimes just easier to grasp bwahaha

And with that, since it's "character design" and not just "design" - that initially made me feel like designing and creating the anthro AU equivalent for Monk would be a neccessary struggle and when I'm done, I won't ever pay much attention to a character I'd consider a bit more flat in comparison to what I had planned for others. But the longer I sketched, more "what ifs" came to mind and I ended up with Shine - still the younger sibling, just taller and bigger than the scrawny, troublemaking, older one. Took advantage of Share (Gourmand) being his parent, so he takes after him in size and personality a bit more. That opened a really fun path to explore with him.

I've decided to link his pacifist mentality and kindness not to being childish and bit unwise, but to idealism, stronger sense of justice and an overall aspiration to be reliable and responsible. He's still young and naive, but it doesn't come from being childish and having a "kill them with kindness, no other options allowed" mentality, but rather from being an inexperienced, future leader with a lot of potential. One that's often being very harsh on himself when his mistakes or faulty judgement causes a slip-up or a situation escalated in a way he couldn't predict. Sometimes, things just happen and there was no way to foresee the consequences or avoid confrontation, despite how hard everyone tried, and that's also a part of life - that's something Shine would struggle to accept. He's naive, but not dumb. Even with that - it doesn't stop him from being a very trustworthy and quick-thinking individual. I like that about him!

And this is also what's reflected in the design - he's on the taller side, with a more blocky build. Flowy, loose clothes both make him look really comfortable and chill, visually suggesting that he's more laid-back, not active, not used to fights and messy situations, while also pushing the silhouette to be a one, sturdy shape even more. That just yells "you can approach and trust this guy easily" by looks alone. From smaller details - he has the monk symbol in a visible place on his belt -> wants to signal to others that he's not a threat and is always willing to talk things out or settle for a compromise. He doesn't have much more accessories -> doesn't like showing off and isn't desperate for attention. The only striking, busy pattern he has on him is the striped sleeve to match his sib - he values Ways (Survivor) a lot!

From other designs for the AU - March, Ways and Steps (Spearmaster, Survivor and Rivulet) are also my favourites for various reasons, but this post is already a yap session. Maybe next time, if anyone's curious.

But I had to flip the situation so to speak and really ask myself hmmm what if we’re all wrong about this being PR, like what if to Chris it looks completely different. He is just a guy from Boston who happened to get famous due to talent. He’s done pr in the past yes and seemed to be authentic.

But just like life people change. Chris was never Steve Rogers, Chris is just a guy like many of people’s exes. What if he decided to do things differently and this is who he chose regardless of how it looks. Maybe he wanted to keep his fandom and image and that’s why it’s so PR looking like he’s playing the Hollywood game, but also working to help establish his wife. I just had to the look at another pov and like Lisa may indeed have accidentally liked something, it happens. Celebs are human and you don’t think they get tired of random strangers talking shit to them or stalking friends and family, you don’t think they’d see how invested online strangers are and try to play with people just to stay relevant and also just because.

Chris is simply living his life like the rest of us and Hollywood dressed him up and he’s played along, but now he’s trying to manage that plus his private life to another celebrity that doesn’t align to the image he held for so long and it’s just coming off as so badly business and fandom wise, but to him he just thought he was smarter and thought oh if I share her online people will love her, maybe he didn’t know she trolled or didn’t care if she did. Chris doesn’t know any of us to care. We assume these celebrities actually give a damn about this fandom shit, but they probably don’t.

People lie, he speaks in interviews that goes to BILLIONS of people so I don’t expect him to tell personal stuff too much more either especially these days, people are crazy. But to the fandoms limited view they see every video dissect every move to mean more that what it actually is.

I just wonder if this has spiraled and eventually we do unfortunately learn that Chris was an image while the real Chris Evans is simply human and this is real and the life he chose to live, just him and not to uphold some fake image, but he’s forced to keep playing that role as well.

If this doesn’t end by Summer or before their next anniversary, I do hope many people start really questioning reality. It’s easy to get caught up in parisocial relationships with celebs and not even know it.

Hi, thank you so much! I think it’s already crossed everyone’s mind at least once that what if this whole thing is real? And I don’t think this thought is bad; I think narrow-mindedly thinking this can’t be anything but fake is much worse, because then you will start misunderstanding everything that comes out and think everything proves something, or your point, which is not true.

Chris has never been and never will be Steve Rogers, and I don’t remember him ever stating the opposite. I never really understood why people thought in the first place that he is like him or can ever be. He is a fictional character after all, and as you said, he is just a guy, filled with flaws like all of us.

But let’s talk a bit about the theory you wrote down: what if this is real, but he is, on purpose, trying to make it look like it was PR? First of all, that would be extremely disrespectful towards his wife. If he decided to marry her, then go ahead and show her off. If he’s actually been doing that, he just made everything worse, because after a while people will realize that he was lying and playing them, and oh, that’s gonna be another shitshow. Because him playing people to make them think it’s not real and doing this just to save himself because he chose a not-so-good person as his wife is even worse than this being real. And while I don’t like Alba at all, that would be really humiliating for her as well. However, I find it highly impossible that this would be the case. I don’t think he is that bad of a human being, and you can clearly see in his body language that their relationship isn’t any more caring and loving behind closed doors as well. I mean, for example, when the NYC pap walk came out, and that random girl uploaded that video where they were seen as well, you could’ve seen how they act when they think they aren’t being recorded.

Lisa’s like, It could’ve been an accident, but considering that she didn’t really interact with her or anything like that, maybe only after this whole thing came out, says a lot, especially when you can see that she is still supportive of Minka, for example.I think these people care about what people say more than you would imagine. Half of the things that are being said and done wouldn’t have been if they didn’t care. Because of this whole whatever-ship, his career took a hit, not even a small one. People unfollowing, fans leaving after decades. His team noticed that; he noticed that. Celebs love saying that they don’t care, but they do, more than you would imagine.

Fans obviously care more than any random person who comes across an interview of his. While I agree that some things are being blown out of proportion, I do think that we can’t deny the inconsistency of their relationship. Even if it’s real, it’s clear they want to sell a love story that most likely never existed.

I do agree that after a while we need to let this story go, even if it turns out to be not real in the end. It’s funny because will we ever actually get to know what this was? Probably not. Even if this ends one day, we will never actually know the truth. But after a while everyone will get tired of this and move on with their life. They either will „accept” her presence in his life, try to forget that she exists, or leave the fandom. Either way, I hope everyone will do what’s best for their mental health because this isn’t worth yours, that’s for sure.

Crossovers absolutely have a place in the main tag for sure, I completely agree.

However, there's a threshold an AU can hit that just becomes unreasonable, and upsets a huge portion of fans. I created a huge AU for Gravity Falls (Transcendence AU) many years ago, and for a time, it began to actually overrun the canon tag. The second GF fans started voicing their displeasure, the Transcendence AU fans all collectively decided to stop posting in the main tag. Our content was still easily found, interaction didn't dwindle at all, and everyone was happy. A bunch of us even found it freeing, honestly! No one felt guilty or nervous about flooding the canon tag, cause we had our own tag now.

It's a bit exclusionary yes, but looking at it from a harm mitigation standpoint (or, discomfort mitigation. annoyance mitigation?), asking fans politely to exclude an AU that's overtaken a canon tag has been common courtesy since the beginning of Tumblr. It's not a slippery slope, and it doesn't cause harassment. It's a tried and true method that keeps the biggest number of people happy.

Because truly, what seems most fair to you--Kicking an existing fandom out of their tag? Or asking fans of a specific AU to please stick to their AU tag?

And it's important to remember that there are still ways to discover DPxDC--The search function (separate from the tag) would still populate DPxDC alongside all canon DP content. Looking into individual blogs (which is how Tumblr is made to be used in the first place). You can also search for the tag directly after running into it on other sites like AO3.

I'll admit it's not a perfect solution for everyone, but it's the best we have. No one is saying this "because it's easy"--if it was easy, I would have said something years ago. I get that you're rightfully upset about the prospect, but a huge chunk of the fandom is rightfully upset, too. The tag has become unusable even with blacklisting. It's not a minor thing to brush aside, it's actively been keeping a lot of fans (like myself) from even participating in the fandom anymore. And that's really sad, man.

Can we please politely push for DPxDC content to not use the main DP tags?

An AU overtaking a main tag is a fairly common fandom thing to happen, and when it does happen, this is generally how it's dealt with. There's no solid guideline of when to do it, but at some point, an AU becomes so widespread that blacklisting doesn't really help.

It's also simply not fair, nor logical to shove a fandom out of its tags and into a different tag or community. What about new fans who peek into the main tag and see nothing but an AU they weren't looking for?

(This is a great place to also remind people that only the first five tags on a post get sorted site-wide. Anything after those are purely for your own organization in your own blog. So you can still tag your stuff with canon tags after the first five!)

I really think DPxDC stuff needs to be posted in a dedicated tag/community. I really don't want to have to start blocking individual users, but after waiting for... what, three years, I think? In hopes that fans would self-govern and use a bit of common courtesy I've seen in other fandoms? I'm unfortunately almost there. Not to say that this is deliberately rude! I'm not sure the fandom at large has really talked about it enough for DPxDC fans to catch on, so I don't blame any party here.

I just think this is something we could very politely ask for more. Be kind, be patient, and see if we all can't make this fandom space a bit more comfy for everyone, yeah?

Hi ! I don't know if you've heard of it, but I recommend you In Stars And Time ! I've seen your comics about aro/ace rep and this game is super good at it, in addition to the fact that it's an amazing game in general. (slight spoilers below)

There's a (human) character who's aroace and struggles to accept herself, and it's heartwarming to see her understand over time that it's okay to feel like this and she doesn't need to change <3

There's also the main character, who is ace and some flavor of aromantic, and their relashionship with Mirabelle (the aroace girl) is veeery qpr looking, so it's basically a given for the fandom now (fandom that's actually very respectful of aro and ace identities)

The dev (@/insertdisc5 ) is French too !

And there's amazing enby représentation !

We actually started the game with my partner a while ago (we didn't expect any French at the time so going into that blind was hilarious), but then I guess life came up and we got out of time and never continued it yet... We still aim to get to the end of it at some point!

(On that note I believe the creator is Canadian actually? Maybe French-speaking Canadian? ...But idk I might be wrong)

Yeah either way we haven't gotten to the point where any character is confirmed to be aroace. There's definitely hints and relatable moments which have been very satisfying (hints of other things in other characters too tbh), but nothing I could call a confirmation of anything, so I guess we have much to see still! (...Well, now I guess who the aroace character is supposed to be, if anything, didn't know that yet 🙈 I'll add a spoilers tag in the tags if that's OK!)

Definitely liked what I've seen thus far though, it's been a vibe, and from what I've seen I'd recommend it to anyone for any reason, it's a very intriguing came in a good way and the character designs are pristine^^ So yeah, it deserves to be known!
