Thinking about how the action text for Siffrin's (Heal.) craft in Act 5 is "You wish for more time."

Of course, there's something to be said on the fact that it's framed as a wish, but aside from that...

They're not wishing for healing. Not strength, or anything in that vein. Not for the pain to stop. Just "more time".

Because, obviously, pain and injury doesn't mean anything to him, at this point. He doesn't care about his own well-being (among absolutely everything else, see the fact that they're actively burning themselves out by ignoring Craft cooldowns). He just wants to reach his "goal" without being forced to start again.

They don't care about their health, the damage they take, or being healed. They just want more time.

(US Politics) Some Good News

Judge Amir H. Ali has ruled that the Trump Administration has overstepped it's constitutional authority in freezing/dissolving huge parts of USAID (you know, the agency that helps fellow nations on important issues of health, disaster relief, humanitarianism).

The bigger part (to me)? The Supreme Court upheld this ruling and denied Trump's appeal.

While we watch as, during the congressional address, all democrats in congress sit complacent (except Al Green), judges, those that actually swear to uphold the constitution, are fighting against what cannot be denied as one of the most unprecedented power grabs from the executive branch since it's formation.

The caveat: Judge Ali has not enforced the revival of the contracts and jobs that donald trump has squandered.

This isn't a win. This is getting two extra points in the qualifying round. But God, with the state of the US, do we have to take a moment to celebrate the little wins.

Thoughts on a certain item in the 13th Depository and Tower Law

Wow, I am definitely feeling some kind of way about having Wheel of Time back!

Okay, the last one I tried to stay show-spoilers only but this one is definitely book spoilers. All the way to The Gathering Storm, or maybe Knife of Dreams. Somewhere around there.

So we're shown a bunch of ter'angreal in the 13th Depository. Several of the pieces are the dream ter'angreal that the Black Ajah use in the books, we also see the redstone doorway that leads to the realm of the 'Finn.

...and then there's the bracer. The bracer that some have noted kinda seems similar to the Seanchan a'dam bracer in the show. It is most definitely one of the items that Nyomi takes. The speculation is that it's the Dominion Band, or at least part of it (maybe with the rest in Tanchico). And the Dominion Band is basically an a'dam that works on men instead of women, but women still hold the leash.

So. Tower Law. It was adjusted somewhat in the show. Now in the books, Elaida kidnapping Rand is shown as a somewhat extreme action that she has to cloak behind a formal diplomatic gesture, but it in the series, it's Tower Law. The Tower is supposed to capture the Dragon, cage him, and then hold him in the Tower until the Last Battle.

If we put together the White Tower having the Dominion Band (unconfirmed! We don't know for sure what the bracer is! but it is certainly suggestive) with Tower Law... y'all I think the Amyrlin is supposed to be the Dragon's sul'dam during the Last Battle (but they lost the collar and the other bracer sometime in the past). Or at least that's what's the intention behind that bit of Tower law.

In the books, there's a thing about how certain histories are suppressed, certainly knowledge is withheld, so that only the Amyrlins (and certain other select people? Maybe? it's been a while) know about it. So most Sisters wouldn't know about the bracer, but obviously some people do.

Anyway, that was the thought that occurred to me today when I was thinking about (potentially) having the Dominion Band (or part of it) stored in the Tower plus the official Tower Law about the Dragon Reborn.
