Yeah nah forget about that.... This took me too long to color all in one night it's only 9 frames , I love sketching frame by frame because I love the wiggley lines. And you can see authentically how much work I put in when I do it. First off, I wish Nilly actually got to give him a hit or too, that crashout scene needed it in my opinion.

But I will admit, they made Shadow Milk into a good, chaotic and complex antagonist, I love the way the Devs wrote him. He makes me so mad but I also can't stop wanting to see more of him, I'm actively spending more than I ever did to get him from Gacha (still not successful but here's hoping).

Dear lord, though, they did NOT hold back in this chapter, went all out.

Except for the VA, where did Billy's VA go? If he on holiday, I wanted to hear Nilly roar that line at Shadow Milk!

Does anyone else find it supremely ironic that we have an angel-and-devil-on-your-shoulder dynamic that has multiple twisted levels with Carmen and Ayin in Limbus Company?

Carmen the luminous angelic saint, so beautiful, enthralling, charming, and altruistic ironically pushing people into being utterly selfish and thinking only of themselves and causing a massive death toll consisting of entire Nests and Backstreets of a whole District depsite wanting the exact opposite before Enoch died.

Ayin the dark devilish warcriminal, so scrunkly, sopping wet, pathetic, reclusive, neglectful, shit at communicating, and bloodsoaked ironically trying to stop Carmen and push people into being more kind and empathetic and thinking beyond only of themselves despite having soaked his hands in at least an entire District's worth of blood as they took down the old L Corp in a bid to fulfill Carmen's dream no matter what.

It's like seeing an angel and a devil switch roles!

Indeed, this is one my favourite role reversals with the two of them because of the levels of tragedy and intrigue within it.

After all of these years of yearning, of wishing for an end to his suffering and suffering he caused on so many people, Ayin finds himself dragged into a situation where he was to play the hero, not for someone else's dreams, not for wholly selfish reason, but for the City's people whom he once worked to help so much. . He had to play the hero before, and now he has to be a hero. And I cannot imagine the heartbreak he has to endure seeing what has become of Carmen after the time she spent as the Bucket...

And I wonder if it's sort of a mutually tragic situation here. Maybe Carmen really does think she's saving people from become the emotional and physical husk that Ayin became through his stubborn selflessness that he solely endured for her through love. Maybe she wants to destroy the concept of loving other people and selflessness because she knows how it can destroy good men. Like her dear Yinnie. And at the same time, Ayin knows that this isn't who Carmen is...or at least, it's not the same woman he knew throughout all of the time he worked with her in the Old Lab.

And to me, the sweet, delectable irony lies in knowing that Ayin was always described as without ideals. He went through with the Seed of Light just to make Carmen happy despite knowing he should've went through with it for the inherent good it would've caused everyone. And yet, now when he has the chance to join Carmen in her new quest against the City, when he can be happy by her side if he just turns a blind eye like he always wanted to...He decides to hold his ground. He decides to stick to Carmen's original plan, and honestly, I think that's some very major character development for him since it essentially means that he grew from solely loving Carmen to loving her for her ideals and for who she was. When she basically became an entirely different person post-Light release, he held onto the ideals of the woman he used to love, and that made him the perfect man for the job of countering Carmen in the Light.

From the worst possible man for a job, to the best possible man for it, you have to admit it's a heckuvan upgrade.

im gonna assume you havent read much of his stuff so here's my beginner's guide:

if you wanna read his introduction as robin and some basics of his robin run, that's batman #402, #403, and #408 to #416. i'd also recommend superman annual #11!! though it doesn't focus on him as much, it's one of my favs :-)

if you don't rlly wanna read his robin run, then skip to the batman: a death in the family arc (batman #426-429) which will give you the basis for his red hood stuff in the future.

then i'd suggest reading batman under the red hood, one of my fav comics EVER. you can find it in compiled versions which is probably easier than listing all the individual issues. utrh is SO good and sets the basis for a lot of rh-era post crisis jason (my scrunkly)

after that, i'd read red hood: lost days. which technically takes place *before* utrh but i think its easier to read it after. i like this one a lot its really sad :( just ignore the bit with talia. you'll know what im talking about when you read it. everyone pretends it didnt happen.

other than that there's a bunch of other guides but i'll spare you that till you've read these :P

6) yes!! So. Much. But also not nearly enough lmao. 13) augh this is a tough one!!! I really like what each version of Michelangelo brings to the table in terms of changing up the Mikey status quo and as individuals. I openly admit I'm biased always in favor of 2k3 bc that series is so dear to me, but if Rise had been able to see its full potential rise Mikey would definitely be a contender for #1. He's so charming and multifaceted! (All mikeys are but he's got a scrunkly quality to him)

17) again, tough choice with a heavy 2k3 bias. Especially in the first season of 2k3 he was a terrifying force, unknown, powerful, and with a killer aura. Like 2k12 has a great voice and evil machinations, to be sure, and 87 shredder is iconic ofc, but honestly not much can top the shadowed cowl and glowing red eyeslits from 2k3. The whole design reeks of power and intimidation, and as a child I remember getting goosebumps when he came onscreen those first few times

Rise Shredder again is a top choice for me bc again, the sheer aura. Fuck yes. Terrifying villain and I desperately wish we'd gotten more development. Rise is so excellent and I love it dearly but it was so badly shafted that it feels like it's left with gaping holes, bc it was. This wasn't supposed to be a rise rant but ig it is now lmao

Naturally with T.C. he admires how much he cares for/all he does for the gang and how much that cat tries to make the best life for them despite their situation or their poverty. I think he simultaneously despises and admires how stubborn T.C. is as a person.

Benny is a very happy and funny little guy and he's almost always able to make Dibble laugh even just a little bit. He does wonder how an innocent lil lad like him got wrapped up with a character like Top Cat but does recognize just how important he is to him and how much he looks up to him.

Dib really likes how expressive and empathetic Chooch is and especially likes how his enthusiasm is contagious. If he's excited you also will be very soon. He's very transparent and wears his heart on his sleeve, he doesn't try and hide his feelings away like most people Dib knows. Also he's very fluffy. Foofy fella. Foofy woofy Choochie boy.

I like to think that Dibble secretly wishes he could have Spook's relaxed attitude so that he wouldn't be so stressed all the time. Spook has got sort of a calming aura to him and while he does beef with Spook the most (besides T.C. ofc), being near him is like a little mental break and he also offers some damn good wisdom and advice.

Fancy's self-confidence is only to be rivaled by the most popular of celebrities, yet he always managed to make room for the fellas in his life despite how many girlfriends he might have at the time. Fancy's boisterous enough to be incredibly charismatic yet he's also humble enough to recognize what he has and hold it near and dear to his heart. Dibble thinks more people can (and should) learn from him.

This is very much a self-indulgent headcanon but Brain is very much Dibble's favorite kitty. Aside from just being the cutest and silliest little scrunkly around, Brain is very kind, patient, doesn't believe in holding a grudge (most of the time) and is a very good listener. It baffles Dib how he didn't become a cold-hearted cynic with all he's been through. Brain's unwavering kindness is a shining light in Dibble's grim career, reminding him that the world doesn't have to be so evil.

The fact that Gortash will decide to kill your character if you choose the dialogue option to freely give him the Netherstones is one of my favorite things about him. It either supports his opinion of the player character as his equal, is indicative of rebellion against one of the core principles of his religion, or shows evidence of the Absolute's ability to influence him.

It also suggests that he's not the dom that much of the fandom makes him out to be in their headcanons.

Banite doctrine dictates that subordinates must be subservient to their masters. Subservience in this specific interaction, however, can get your character killed. Worse yet, babygurl is now the enemy. Perhaps, then, they are NOT his subordinate? 🤔

The newly appointed Archduke has generously acknowledged your character as worthy. If he does not see them as his true equal, then he at least sees them as a valuable ally with the potential to be an equal. Your character's submissiveness is an insult to him. How dare they suggest by their willingness to give up the Netherstones that he would permit them to take his own stone without a fight? How dare they be so spineless as to simply do as he says?

If that is who they are, they can roll over and die. He has no use for them.

If he truly sees your character as his subordinate, refusing to allow them to behave as one is directly opposed to his own religious doctrine. Even the Banites' own codes state that the rules of the cult are the only ones that they are obligated to follow. All others are irrelevant. If they are indeed his lesser, Gortash should accept the stones and let your character tag along as cannon fodder, but he doesn't. Is it a subtle rebellion against Bane, or could it be the Absolute exerting her influence to bring the Astral Prism to her directly?

If Gortash is brought to the morphic pool, the Absolute makes it clear that she was in charge, at least from the point of Orin's attack on Durge. She let Gortash and the others believe that they controlled her while she used them to grow more and more powerful. It's fun to think that the genius mastermind was ultimately no more than the Absolute's pawn. How many of his decisions were influenced by her? How much of the Golden Reign of Gortash would even have been Gortash at all? 🤔

The Absolute is as interesting to ponder as the scrunkly Banite himself.

From a personal perspective, the fact that this man expects his allies to stand up to him is one of the reasons that I like him. It also supports my theory of him as a switch, not a dom. Anyone who flat-out submits to him is not worth his time, beyond the time spent to end them, that is. He's a little like Brynhildr. She would only wed one who was without fear.

As popular as top Gortash is, I don't personally see it as particularly in-character for him. The delivery on some of Gortash's more dominant lines is certainly attractive in its tone, so I can totally see why fans would want that. However, in the circumstances in which the lines are spoken in-game, they don't inspire me to fall to my knees. 'You will follow, and you will show due respect' is so very throat-punch worthy.

Ballsy of Gortash to think he can talk like that to someone who has been utterly annihilating his religious hoax... and happens to have recently ganked an immortal paladin.

Plus, the avatar of Myrkul.

And possibly every living Bhaalist in the city, including his high priest and his chosen.

Maybe an undead dragon.

Perhaps even the son of Mephistopheles in his own house.

Gortash wants to say, 'Yes, dear.'

I love that you have to call Gortash's bluff not once but twice, or you're not worth keeping alive. He is surrounded by sycophantic Banites who will do anything he wants because of the way in which their hierarchy is structured. It must get pretty boring after a while. His dislike of Orin isn't the only reason he's so thrilled to see Durge.

I think the last thing he truly wants to hear is a, 'Yes, sir/master.'
