YN cannot help but smile at the posts she reads on Twitter as she runs on the treadmill for a quick morning workout before her busy day. After two weeks of working on it, today is the day she will be releasing her anticipated holiday EP. And along with that, YN will be taking over The Late Late Show to create more buzz.

So after her last show in Philly, she went straight to her ride to New York and immediately sent into a quick one-hour meeting with the producers and writers of the show. It was hectic. YN admittedly didn't remember anything after that meeting and was just glad to be back on a bed in her hotel room at 1:00 AM.

Then she got up at six for her morning routine, which included this little workout.

"Thought Harry is still in LA at this time?" you turned to Cal, who was running next to you.

"I thought so too. I guess he's excited to see you again." she teased while heaving.

You chuckled, shaking your head. It was never confirmed if you and Harry Styles ever had a romantic relationship. But back in your younger years, you two were often photographed together at various events and places. He was still in a boyband at that time while you were just a starting artist. The photographs and clips lasted for only a few months and were never brought publicly by you or Harry. Some fans think that maybe you two really had a thing, but a few believe it's probably just something PR for your then-small career.

You were enjoying the tweets of anticipation for your show tonight when a few tweets made you stop scrolling. Turning to Cal once again, you tapped her arm and made her read the tweets.

Singing the last line of the song she will be performing later, YN finds herself laying her back down on the stage of The Late Late Show studio. It’s only nine in the morning and she is already thinking of her hotel bed and comfy weighted blanket wrapped around her. She has been rehearsing for her hosting stint for tonight for almost two hours now, wanting to make sure everything will be perfect later.

You were so ready to give up on the heaviness of your eyelids when you felt Cal’s shadow hovering over you. You squint your eyes.

“Is a break possible?” the tired singer asked.

Your assistant and also manager offered her hand, helping you get up, “Of course. But you need to get back in an hour for a meeting with Paul to finalize your wardrobe."

"Okay, thank you. I need to get coffee or maybe just take some air outside." you sighed.

Luckily, one of the band members heard you. Noah joined your and Cal's conversation.

"We're getting coffee too. Fred's taking us to his favorite cafe here, you should join!" He grinned.

You smiled and turned to Cal as if she were your mother and you were asking for permission. Normally, just to be careful, she will come with you or make you have your own bodyguard, especially since you're currently in the Big Apple. But knowing that you have the band around you, Cal nodded her head. You smiled even wider as Noah pulled you along with him after you got your small bag.

“I swear, you’ll thank me the moment you get a sip of their latte.”

Fred was in the middle of telling Akio something when you and Noah joined them, waiting for an elevator. Yoongi was quiet next to them, in his usual blank expression. He didn’t even say anything when you stood next to him, never a small talker. Crossing your arms over your chest, you pursed your lips, contemplating if you should greet him or something. Because it felt like there was this big ice in this a foot of distance between you and Yoongi. It’s weird as if you haven’t slept on his bed nights ago or stayed up all night making music together. 

“Oops, I’m sorry.”

The silence was broken down when Noah cleared his throat and accidentally hit your sides with his hips, making you lose balance and fall into your bassist who was quick to catch you. Instinctively, his hands were on your waist while you turned your head to him with wide eyes from surprise at Noah’s action. You looked up at Yoongi, not realizing how close his face was to yours. For a moment, Fred and Akio’s chatter faded into an inaudible muffle and everything in the background was blurry and his face was the only thing that was sharp in your sight. Your breath hitched, there was something in your throat when your eyes met. Yours was still surprised while he was calm. Everything felt like a slo-mo.

“You okay?”

And Yoongi was the first to talk. You wished you were as relaxed as him in everything. The moment you realized you were staring, you immediately got back to your feet and removed his hands from your waist, which made Yoongi raise his brow and step back.

“I’m sorry-”

“No, no. It’s fine.” You cut him off, still panicking with that quick but also slow feeling you felt. What the fuck is that? “I-I think I’m just having a long morning.”

You’re stuttering and you don’t like it. As you question yourself internally, all Yoongi can see is you looking away with a confused look on your face. Your eyebrows are scrunched together while chewing on your lower lip, it’s turning white. He looked away, smiling at something else.

Suddenly, there is a high-pitched ‘ding’ when the elevator finally arrives empty. You don’t know what the fuck happened because you ended up behind Fred, Akio, and Noah while Yoongi stood next to you. They seemed like walls, hiding you and your bassist, as they chatted about something. You gulped, feeling obligated now to break the silence between you and Yoongi.

“So… is this your first late-night show gig?” you asked, crossing your arms over your chest.

“Nope.” he replied, popping that ‘p’ with his answer. “You?”

“Oh, uhm… Not my first time, I guest on them every time I’m promoting something. But this is my first time hosting.” you replied with a tight smile at the end.

He hummed, nodding. He seemed uninterested, you thought. So you just hummed too, looking away. The elevator stopped and the doors slid open. It’s still not your floor, but another smaller group gets in, making your human walls make more space for the others while you step closer to Yoongi. Was it too close? Because his crisp, earthy fragrance smells so good and you wanted to ask what perfume is it, but it will just probably feed his ego. You hate it– not the scent. But the way you’ve been feeling right now. You’re probably just tired. You nodded at that. Yeah, that’s probably the only right answer to why are you feeling this weird around him.

“I think there are paparazzi outside,” Akio said, looking back to you, when you finally got out of the elevator and were about to walk out the building.

You sighed, “Of course, there are. It’s fine. How about you guys? You’re okay with being papped?”

There’s a collective ‘it’s fine’ and ‘I don’t care’ from the band, making you smile. Without talking about it, Akio and Noah stood on each of your sides. While Yoongi and Fred talked in front of you. This way, your band acted like a great wall around you. Yes, the paparazzi still caught you in your matching large sweatshirt and pants. But they only got small glimpses of you having conversations with your friends. You waved at some fans outside the building, waiting for their tickets for tonight’s show. But didn’t stop for any photo.

“Oh my god! Is it true? Harry’s guesting?” a fan asked and squealed when you simply winked at her direction.

As you and your group walked away, Noah asked, “Were you and Harry really a thing?”

You chuckled, “Maybe you’ll know later.”

“Oh my god, I cannot believe I’ll see him up close later. I used to be like the biggest Directioner in my whole class in eighth grade.” Akio fangirled.

“Yoongi used to work with him! Aren’t you?” Fred brought up, nudging him.

“Yep, for his first two albums,” he replied casually.

“Wasn’t there a rumor that few of his songs in his first album were about YN?!” Akio giggled. “Is that true?”

Oh, you know about those rumors and you definitely heard the songs, even those from their band’s last album. You don’t know if Yoongi worked on them too. But the moment you two locked eyes for a few seconds after Akio asked that, you figured maybe he does know something about that, even though he’s a little hard to read.

But he simply shrugged, “I don’t know.”

“Didn’t know you were seeing my mate, Yoongi, like that.”

After rehearsing and meetings, you still found time to catch up with an old friend. You sat across him in one of the coziest and lowkey restaurants in the city. You two were already past the greetings and had been enjoying your lunch for almost twenty minutes when he brought that up.

Your head tilted slightly, “I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about, H.”

Harry chuckled, a dimple appearing on his cheek, before showing you a screenshot of an article on his phone, “It’s all over the internet. A friend sent me this earlier because they know I worked with Yoongi and I’m in New York for your show.”

The article was just a malicious rumor based on the paparazzi photos taken earlier today when you were getting coffee with the band.

“’M just messin’ with you, angel. I think I’m usually the first one to know if something’s just a rumor.” Harry laughed. 

With how many relationships he had, real and fake, you know Harry would be the first one to recognize a rumor. He basically grew up in the industry and even though you two broke up years ago, Harry is usually the first one to contact you every time he sees crazy, untrue news about you just to tease you about it.

“But you do seem a bit flustered being linked with him,” he whispered before sipping his red wine.

“What?! No, I’m not– We actually hate each other.” you exhaled. Your voice unconsciously got higher when you said that.

He still has the stupid smirk on his face when he puts down his glass, “Easy there, angel. No need to get all fiery. Your nose is doing that little flare thing again.”

You paused as your hands held your nose as if it would do anything, “What?”

“I’ve mentioned before, haven’t I? When you’re fibbing, your cute nose gives you away,” he said in a matter-of-fact tone like everyone knows that. “Quit with the pout, angel. You’re far too cute to pull that off.”

He winked with a cheeky grin, making you roll your eyes. You two were always flirty with each other just for funsies, so you don’t really mind his little nickname for you that started when you two were dating or even the little teasings. Just like now, when he reached out just to pinch your nose softly.

“I’m just worried about being linked to him, H. I don’t want any more drama in my life.” you shared.

“What are you worried about, angel? I know Yoongi, he’s a good guy. Unlike that idiot you dated for–”

“Not that! I’m not saying I am interested in dating him. I’m just worried about being linked to him because– Isn’t he dating anyone?” you asked him as Yoongi mentioned his fiancee a couple of times ago. 

“I don’t know.” his voice trailed off as he thinks. “But I was really keen to have him on my last tour, but his fiancee was not a fan of a long-distance thing.”

“See?! That’s why I hate being linked to him like that. Don’t want to be labeled as a homewrecker like that.” 

This time, you took a subtle jab at him before sipping in your glass just to hide the small smile. You see him squint his eyes at you, picking up that small reference you made with one of his recent relationships.

“Alright, angel. No need to air out my dirty laundry… Moving on!”

The rest of your day got more hectic. More rehearsals, more meetings, and you even filmed more promotional materials for social media alone and with your guests: two for Harry and a few with the band. There was an online poll posted online for whom band member your audience wants you to interview and of course, your co-producer of your recent EP. The other band members were relieved to hear that as they were really rooting for Yoongi to be the one to take it for the team.

“Go on. You are the spokesperson of the band.” Akio encouraged him as they stayed in their dressing room.

“Since when?” Yoongi asked, and the rest of the band laughed. “I am the quietest one here. It will make more sense if Noah shows up.”

“No, you are the fan favorite, so you need to show up!” Noah laughed, enjoying the moment.

Fred joins in, “Plus you are a producer in her EP. So it will make more sense if you talk tonight.”

Yoongi knew they were right, so he begrudgingly said yes when the producers asked him for his appearance tonight as your second guest. They told him that it would only be a ten-minute interview, making Yoongi wonder what you two could talk about since you two were pretty awkward earlier while waiting for the elevator. It’s ironic to have him on a talk show when he does not really talk much. He doesn’t think he is as interesting as your other guest.

At exactly 11:30 PM, the show began. A pre-recorded skit earlier was shown on television screens as your cold open. You were seen hailing a famous New York yellow cab, in your off-shoulder, fur-hemmed, velvet, red mini dress with matching long gloves. Bringing out your compact mirror, you swiped your red lipstick over your lips. The cab driver’s eyes were shot looking at you through the rearview mirror and then to the road. Back and forth.

You looked back at him, “Eyes on the road, please! Got a schedule to catch on here, sir.”

Flustered, the cab driver, an actor, nodded. Then suddenly, the cab unexpectedly stopped because of the long, noisy traffic ahead of you. You looked at the camera and rolled your eyes.

“Of course, it’s my [redacted] worst enemy. [redacted] traffic,” you spoke. The curse words were redacted hilariously, making your audience laugh. You poked your head outside the open car window, “Can we go one, please?! I have a show to host tonight!”

The next scene is you running into the building. A guard stops you for an ID, but you don’t get one.

“I’m taking over Max River’s show tonight! I’m YN.” 

The guard was unbothered. In his deep voice, he says, “Yeah, sure, and I’m Marcello Hernandez. Whatever. Please leave the building if you cannot bring out any identification card, ma’am.”

You bit your lower lip as you felt helpless and hurried, looking around. That’s when someone showed up to distract the guard. Your studio audience screamed when they recognized who it was.

“Oh, hey, Johnny!” Harry greeted the guard, pulling him in for a bro hug.

You took the opportunity and ran away. The elevator dinged and you immediately speed-walk in the long carpeted hallway of the floor. Various crew members greet you, fist-bumping you, and instructing you until you stand in front of the high curtains. 

A familiar crew of the show handed you your microphone, “Good luck, YN.”

The live studio audience applauds as the curtain slowly opens, showing you in the same red dress. The band began playing the instrumentals for one of your new songs. You sang A Nonsense Christmas with your dancers in the background. After that, your audience cheered as you moved to the short monologue.

“Good evening, everyone! Welcome to the Late, Late Show– Or dare I say, Welcome to the Late, Late Holiday Show with yours truly.” you smiled as your fans clapped. "Also, The Roots are on their holiday break. So, please welcome my amazing band! Akio on keyboards! Noah on guitar! Fred on drums! And of course, Yoongi on bass guitar!" The audience cheered on every member you introduced and of course, someone got a noticeable, louder cheers. “How are we feeling tonight?” 

“So… Max Rivers really thought it was a festive idea to make me his holiday episode’s host. He probably hasn’t seen my shows recently.”

The audience laughed, knowing that you were talking about the negative reviews you’ve been getting from conservatives who saw some short clips from your show. Some people just won’t stop complaining about how your concert shows are not “family-friendly” and “too sexual”, as if you promoted it that way. You didn’t. You were literally wearing an almost-lingerie in your photoshoot for the tour as part of the concept you were aiming for.

“Anyway, my holiday EP, Midnight Mistletoe, was just released last night.” you grinned at the positive response. “And let’s be honest, I am here to plug it and make sure you all will hear about it all night.” They laughed. You turned to the other camera. “Midnight Mistletoe, out now. Available in whatever your streaming app is.” You winked as they laughed harder.

“Christmas is in a few days and all I can feel is everyone’s holiday joy. And this season is all about giving, isn’t it?” your audience agreed. “So lemme give the internet a lot to talk about tonight.” 

Smirking, you continued, “Yes, it’s true. I am single.” your fans cheered. “Critics and some of my fans say it’s the best holiday miracle they’ve seen these last few years.” the audience laughed, letting everyone know that you are aware of your fans’ negative feelings about your ex back then you were still dating him on and off.  

“Speaking of miracles, it’s a miracle that I’m still here, considering the amount of accidents I had in my tour these last few months.” On cue, the screens show a quick compilation of your mini slips and falls during your shows. “Looking like a little reindeer on ice over there.” The audience laughed. 

“But hey, if I can survive a breakup, go on tour, and release a holiday EP, maybe I can be a great host for you guys tonight. Am I right?” everyone cheered. “So, buckle up! Grab your eggnog, and let’s make this night something festive to remember!”

After a five-minute commercial, the show is back and you are now sitting at the iconic late-night show desk, ready to introduce your first guest, “So our first guest for tonight is a three-time Grammy Award winner and a member of one of the most successful bands in the world. He is no stranger to generating headlines and making everyone’s hearts race with his voice and looks. He’s one of my best friends in the world, the one and only, Harry Styles!”

The fans’ reactions were loud, eating up the jazzy instrumental of ‘As It Was’ your band was playing. You stood up to greet your friend, who‘s wearing a green Gucci suit, as he walked out the curtains, running straight to your open arms. Unexpectedly, he picked you up and spun you around. You laughed, holding down the back of your dress’s skirt.

“Hello, everyone.” he waved at the audience, whose response was roaring in the studio. He sat on the sofa while you sat back on your chair. “Hi, YN.”

“Hello, Harry. Welcome to the show!” you smiled even though tonight’s conversation felt a little less casual with how you two don’t address each other with your nicknames. “It’s so nice to finally see you again after our break up ten years ago.”

Caught off guard, he choked, then laughed along with the audience at your sarcastic statement, “I know, it’s been so long. It was so hard to look you in the eye again after our long and tumultuous one-month affair.”

He was quick to join you in your sarcasm. In public, they only knew about you and Harry going out for a month. But only a few people around you know that the public caught up late and you went out for almost a year after a paparazzi caught you two leaving the hotel his band was staying at during their show in LA years ago.

“Glad you moved on from me, bud.” you patted his shoulders and he nodded, chuckling. 

The audience laughed, loving the chemistry between you and Harry. The conversation went on as you asked him about his plans and preparations for the holidays. He talked about going back home to celebrate with his mother and you shared a memory you have with his mom, subtly letting people know that you met his family before. You asked him about his next album, which he coyly dodged since he still hasn’t shared anything about it. You called him on that, making him laugh.

After the interview segment and another commercial break, you and Harry sat across each other with a round table in between. Five couples of shot glasses on it, each filled with identical liquids, but definitely have a different taste. 

“So this game is basically, a person will pick two identical-looking drinks here and choose what to give the other. Then, we will pick a card that would have a question that we need to answer. If the other person refuses to answer, they would have to take a shot or sip of their drink. For example, this one might be a shot of vodka or vinegar.” you pointed out to some glasses. Your audience reacted enthusiastically. 

You turned to Harry, “Are you ready?”

He rubbed his hands together, “I sure am.”

“Okay, let’s start.”

You picked out the creamy white liquids you had your eyes on, putting one of the shot glasses in front of him. The band plays some thrilling music before you read the question, laughing.

“Each of the members of your group, One Direction, has released their solo music. Rank each album from–”

You didn’t even have to finish the question as Harry immediately reached for the shot glass and took a shot from it. He grimaced after putting it down, “Bloody hell! What is that?”

“The producers are saying that it’s tartar sauce.” you laughed while your audience shared their disgusted reaction. “The other one is a milkshake.”

Harry wiped his tongue and reached for the glass of water before picking your drinks. He picked the clear liquids, which you hope to be just tequila rather than vinegar.

“Okay, I like this question.” he chuckled as he read the cards. “Almost every show of your tour, you invite one of your band members on stage for a quick cameo on one of your performances. Who is your least favorite among them?”

You looked back at your band like you were really thinking about the answer. The band playfully waved at you except Yoongi who just gave you a single nod. He knew that he was probably the answer, but he didn’t really care. But you surprised him when you turned around to Harry and took a shot of what ended up to be– Thankfully, tequila. Based on your reaction, Harry immediately handed you a plate of sliced lime to mellow out the burn in your throat.

“Thank you,” you replied, making the audience laugh at your hoarse voice. After drinking some water, you spoke again, “Whoo! That was good.”

During the commercial break, Yoongi was asked to go backstage to prepare for his appearance. His more subtle and all-black outfit was changed into a more formal light brown suit from Valentino that Paul pulled for him. He was instructed on how the segment would go, but it all sounded mixed up to him with how hectic everything was. How do you even do this?

A staff member assisted him behind the curtains, “Five, four, three, two, one. Okay. Good luck, come out the curtains!”

Yoongi followed, immediately feeling the spotlight on him. His eyebrows shoot up with the unexpected reaction he got from the audience, he cannot even hear what song the band is playing. He almost froze on the spot until you showed up, smiling before pulling in for a simple cheek-to-cheek, strangely relaxing at the familiar scent of your perfume. He felt like walking on clouds as he made his way to the sofa.

“Hello, Yoongi. Glad to have you here on the show.” you began and that was the nicest thing you ever said to him, he thinks.

“Thank you, so excited to be here,” he said, trying to match the energy.

“That’s nice. So, it’s been a wild year for you, isn’t it? You mentioned before that it’s your first time going on tour. How is the experience now that you are part of the live band?”

“Uhm, it’s been pretty great. I like going around places and Fred, who’s right there, really knows a lot of places to eat to. So I’m glad I joined in.” he replied.

Without any thinking, you let your mouth speak, “And what it’s like working with me?” 

The audience laughed, thinking that you were just in character as a proud boss, but you were really curious and didn’t think about it. As soon as you realized that, you played it off, saying, “You know, working with one of the greatest popstars like me?”

He smirked, “It’s actually great too, except when you’re feeling moody. But we make a great team, I guess.”

There’s a small banter forming and the audience laughs it off, enjoying what’s happening. 

“A great team that we managed to work together for this EP alone! I really thought we would strangle each other at some point in making these songs.” you sarcastically said, making everyone laugh even Yoongi. “Moving on… Was it true that you gained almost a million followers after joining the tour?"

"Yep." Yoongi nodded. “In my first show, I got almost a hundred thousand new followers and I panicked seeing it.”

"I can imagine. I, too, will be scared if I see my notifications like that. Social media is scary.” you chuckled. “And what did your girlfriend say about it? I mean, it must have been crazy to think your partner suddenly became famous like that."

Yoongi stopped like he was trying to process your question. He thought you knew. But knowing this is national television, he has to clear up that fact for the sake of himself and his ex who is now pregnant and getting married to someone else.

"Actually, I am single, YN," he admitted, lips forming into a tight smile.

Oh. Did they break up? You wondered as you felt yourself sinking to your seat while blood came rushing to your cheeks. Okay, this is awkward. You looked at the camera, too embarrassed to look at your bass guitarist.

"Okay, you heard that, people. My bass guitarist is currently on the market!" You played it off successfully. Your audience cheered. "His personal phone number is currently posted on your screens so you can call him with your thirstiest thoughts."

You were satisfied to see a hint of panic on his usual blank face, continuing, "No, of course, I'm kidding! Just send him a text, he hates calls. Classic introvert, am I right?"

The audience and even the band laughed and you mentally pat yourself on the back for saving what could have been an awkward scenario. You went on asking him about his involvement with your EP and brought up his past collaboration with your first guest. For the first time ever, you heard him speak about his past works, mentioning how creative and kind Harry is. Then, there was a very short game.

“Okay, this is the box of questions.” you tapped your nails rhythmically to the metallic blue box you got under the table. “Our studio audience wrote out some questions for me and you.”

“Will there be punishments?” Yoongi asked.

You grinned, “No, but I can ask the producers to bring back the drinks we had earlier.”

The audience laughed. Yoongi shook his head, and you giggled, “Don’t worry, we will pick out just three easy ones.”

You were the first one to read, “Okay, for the band, what is your favorite song to perform on the tour with YN.”

The rest of the band members are in their spots with their own microphones. Noah replied with Juno, even teasing a pose, which made the audience cheer. Akio answered Bed Chem and Fred chose Greedy. Yoongi replied with Juno too.

“I think we know why,” you winked, teasing him.

Yoongi looked away and drew out a question. He smirked when he read it, “YN, who’s your favorite band member and why is it Yoongi?”

The audience screamed in delight as your eyes widened, “Does it say that? I don’t have favorites!”

Yoongi laughs as he shows you the paper, proving that he is not lying. You turned to the band, “I don’t play favorites, right? I’ve been very fair.”

Seeing your flustered reaction, the band enjoyed it and replied almost in unison that the audience laughed. “You do!”

The show ended with another performance from a song that is in Midnight Mistletoe. Harry Styles showed up once again in the end, standing next to you. The band also stood on the other side, with Yoongi being nearest to you. You began your closing remarks,

“Thank you so much to Max Rivers, the crew, and the staff of The Late, Late Show for letting me host tonight! Thank you to my special guest, Harry Styles…” you turned to him and he squeezed you in for a side hug. “And my lovely bassist, Yoongi!” he smiled. “And to my wonderful band, Akio, Fred, and Noah. Also, to my dancers. Thank you so, so much.”

“And to you guys, for watching the show, thank you so much.” you were so happy and grateful, you felt like crying. “The holidays are always about love, joy, and laughter. I hope I delivered that tonight. Happy holidays! Good night!”

Fake snow falls from above as you waved goodbye. While the credits rolled in, you were seen hugging Harry once again before moving to Yoongi, who hugged you back. It was quick but fans still managed to notice it. You moved to the band members while Yoongi and Harry were seen shaking hands and chatting before the screen dimmed down.

I am trying to work, but I am being distracted by a very persistent thought.

Luke is very much like Colin. Colin has a bit of self-doubt. No purpose in life. A little lost at times. Feeling he is not good enough. Trying to please everyone. He tries to fit in. Tries to be what everyone expects him to be instead of being who he is.

Now, what if Luke is struggling with the same issues. The more I think about this self-destructive behaviour. The more I see Colin in Luke.

You know how, in some people's presence, you are inspired to be the best parts of you. I think Nicola brings out that in him. When he is around her, he seems more confident. More chivalrous. More patient and more kind.

I keep thinking about the pap pics where he picked his nose and then the fan pic the following day. He looked frail, sick, and not the Luke we have come to love. It was a massive shock to the system. Instead of everyone being concerned about him, they had very harsh words for him.

He has recovered lately. Seen the inside of a gym. But it brings me to the day of the BAFTAs. It might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't like the photo shoot he did that day. He looked mad, sinister, and uncomfortable. I didn't like what he did at the British Vogue/Netflix preBAFTA party either. If it was to show an edgier Luke, I think they missed the mark. We have seen cheeky, leading man Luke before. This was not it. It reminded me so much of Colin in the beginning of S3 and the brothel scenes. In Pen's own words how Colin has lost his way.

"...I simply wanted the Colin back that I loved, not the stoic man you returned as, acting like you care for no one and need nothing. It's you: kind feeling, occasionally excitable, good-hearted man I love..."

Then we get to red carpet at the BAFTAs. He does one interview. Sprint down the carpet for one fan photo. Someone that was set up beforehand, it seems, because a few people asked him for his autograph, but he declined. It looked like he said he was in a rush. But the distance he went for that one fan photo just to rush past others seemed odd. The presence of A in that purple out of season dress was cringy. She never looks good. My biggest issue is the dumbfounded smile she has plastered on her face. Nothing grinds my gears more than when a woman presents as dumb. We have come so far that when a woman proudly embraces dumb bimbo. It's probably why she stood out like a sore thumb. She wasn't supposed to be there. No substance or talent to fall back on.

(Update) He was apparently rushing for an interview and later went back to give signatures and take photos. But it's still odd. He is walking hunched forward.

Someone mentioned that A had to wipe his face down. I looked for the clip but couldn't find anything. Please post a link to the video in the comments or DM me. I can't even spot any sweat. So I wonder what she was wiping off. Maybe just fixing his hair? More information is needed. But odd, nonetheless.

It looked like he went down to help Nic and her sister to their seats. I wouldn't expect anything less from Luke. He looked fine when they were seated. Especially during the little Lukola crumbs we got.

Sometimes, I think I see things through a wishful lens. But when I go back to give it a more objective look. I still come to the same conclusions.

Later, we get the odd parking lot kissing show post Party. This is all very odd. Even if Shondaland/Netflix is behind this PR mess. Something else is going on with Luke.

I read someone elses comment on IG that said he met an 18yo model on Raya and hooked up with her in 2023. Sure, all legal. But super sleezy. I hope this was just a rumour. Things like this come back to bite you in the ass when you least expect it.

(Update) A few people have brought up that the timeline doesn't make sense. I'm more hopeful this is just a rumour.

I feel like Luke has reached a very important crossroads in his life and career. He can continue with (whatever it is) the connection to A. Destroy, the good guy image Bridgerton/crew/costars helped develop for him. Or he can detangle from this mess. Take a public break. Get a new PR team. Work on getting some good projects/brand deals. And just be the good nice guy that we all love. The thing for me is that he needs to revamp and erase the last few months. I keep checking if he has removed that horrible open eyed cheek kiss pic from his IG grid carousel post yet. Keep hoping he has come to his senses. Decided to choose himself and his own career. But it is still there. How long is the contractual obligation to keep the pic up, I wonder?

You know how the CW used to make the same mistake with all their shows. When they did press for their 2nd season, they always described it at, edgier or darker. It never worked for them. It is never an improvement. I can't see that being seen as that would be appealing to a casting director. Having a good stable foundation of being dependable, versatile, likeable, and promotable is a better strategy.

In conclusion. I am a Luke stan. Wish the best for him. But he is making it really hard with this mess from last week. My aunt always says, "I might always love you, but I don't particularly like you at the moment. You are making it really hard."

Nicola and Jake's mess at the BAFTA party and pink carpet at Cannes was just as bad. Luckily, Jake is in Australia, and Nicola has been able to recover from the mess somewhat. Taking her sister and friends to the BAFTAs was the best decision ever. If she pops off to Australia to join Jake for her holiday, I am done.

Just a quick note on Luke not being recognised for his brilliant performance in Bridgerton. It is very rare for male actors to be recognised for playing a vulnerable, heartbroken, and yearning character. They do for being angry. Apparently that is the only emotion that counts. It is a problem in society. It has nothing to do with Nicola or that he was snubbed. I agree that we need to change that.

That Damn Polaroid™ (and Some Thoughts on the Events in April/InStyle Stunt)

This polaroid still gets me today. Like, yes, this was for PR to some extent, BUT this was also SUCH a public statement. We know N has her phone ALL THE TIME. And (from what we know) the picture was on her phone for WEEKS (MONTHS technically). L appeared fine too with it being there (at least from what we know in the interviews where they talked about it). And that wasn't just like a cutesy little picture of two friends/coworkers. It was a 🔥/powerful pic. And as I mentioned here, N uses pictures as a way of communicating with others. And her excuse that she just "didn't have any pockets at the time", so she put the photo there (and proceeded to keep it there for MONTHS) 🙄 Sure Jan... So, with all of this context, I'm first going to talk about some of my thoughts on what was going on between L/A between the end of February to beginning of April, what was going on between L/N in April up until the Italy stops (including thoughts on the InStyle Stunt), and then at the end I will talk about my thoughts on WHY N had that photo on her phone for such a long time and the deeper meaning it might have had then just promoting the show.

I think this post from @newghlan pretty much sums up what I think was going on between L/A during end of February to early April. There was MAJOR flirty energy between L/N during the VDay event and BAFTAs. I talked a little bit here about how there was a very brief clip from the BAFTAs where they look like they got caught when they were embracing each other. I highly recommend checking out the video if you haven't already, because the noverbal cues speak VOLUMES. And it's just interesting that they would look like they got caught at this public event? It read to me that for SOME reason, they did not want that small clip to be captured and put out to the public 🤔

My theories are that by the BAFTAs, A was NOT happy about L/N's chemistry and connection. Maybeee L promised to redirect his attention to A, which is why L wasn't seen at/didn't go to the Big Mood premiere, and why L took A to LA with him and agreed to the InStyle Stunt to appease her. I've never doubted that L has probably had feelings for A (although I still think it was/is fairly casual), but like tbh, I'm CERTAIN his feelings for N are SO MUCH DEEPER. So when those feelings came flooding back when they did reshoots in December 2023, and then had to proceed right into working on promotion in January (which I think just made all the feelings stronger), I feel like he probably had some guilt because he was TRYING to explore his relationship with A. BUT L was reconnecting with N, and I think emotionally, that's where his heart is at. And A noticed this, so she was upset (which honestly, is understandable imo- some of A's actions though because of these feelings she was having I definitely don't agree with). I think L was unsure though about going there again with N, and so he wanted to prove to A (and SPECIFICALLY to himself) that A was the one he wanted to be with. So he focuses his energies on A, agrees to the InStyle Stunt so she gets SOME kind of public acknowledgement (which was a BIG goal of hers in the relationship), and tries to distance some from N. That didn't reallyyyy work though, and then we got what we did for the rest of the tour between L/N.

Before I get to my thoughts on April between L/N, I want to list some specific timeline things around the InStyle Stunt:

L does the InStyle interview (in LA I believe?) near the end of March (so that's when L/A were in LA)

A posts the LA photos on her IG on April 7th and April 14th (and L likes these posts)- I believe she has since deleted another set of these LA photos, so idk what date she posted those photos (sometime in early April though I believe)

The InStyle article comes out on April 29th (with the accompanying Polaroid pics that prove A was in LA with him- this also confirmed that L had coordinated these photos with A to acknowledge (without publicly acknowledging) that he and A were an item)

L posts the non-polaroid photos from the InStyle article on his IG on April 29th (and N likes the post and comments (on April 29) "Yess dude!!")

April/Early May Between L/N

L/N attend the Bridgerton Season 3 London Photocall on April 12 (which is where the photo above was taken AND where the infamous polaroid was taken). Earlier that day (I believe), L/N also did a series of interviews for the show, and those interviews had some SERIOUS flirty/sexual energy to them (including one of L's (not so subtle) butt pinches with N). I would highly recommend rewatching those interviews if you haven't. If anyone has the links to these particular interviews (N is wearing the same necklace, and L the same tank top and jacket that they are wearing in the picture above), please link them in the comments below.

L/N are at events in Bowral, Australia from April 21-23

L/N in Milan May 9 (with the interviews where they are disconnected and likely beefing)

L/N in Verona May 10 (and they are all cutesy with each other and seem back on the same page)

So here are my thoughts (and why the InStyle Stunt/article might have come into play as to why they had been beefing in Milan):

As I mentioned, I think L was TRYING to distance himself some from N in March and refocus his attention on A. However, I think that pull with N was still really strong, and BTS they were still having to see each other and communicate in order to prepare for their upcoming promotional events. My guess is that all this sexual/flirty tension was building up between them BTS in March, which is why they were soooo unhinged in those interviews before the London Photocall on April 12. I also think early April is when L was starting to realize that his feelings for N were coming back full force, and was maybeeee getting a little green light from N that the feelings were reciprocated (but they weren't actually addressing it because I think they were scared/nervous). However, I think they continue flirting with each other in April (maybe secretly through messaging, and also when they were in person).

Note: We also have to remember that L gave those polaroids to InStyle (most likely) at the end of March when he did the interview. Therefore, the InStyle Stunt was set in motion by that point. I've been wondering though recently, if he had known what was going to happen between him and N in April and early May, if he might not have gone along/set up the InStyle stunt 🤔 Just some thoughts I've been having...

Then we get to the Bowral events near the end of April (BEFORE the InStyle article comes out though, confirming L had coordinated this with A), and it seems pretty obvious to me that L is trying to test the water with N and see how she's feeling about them (they are both being a little publicly flirty, but L much more so imo (N still seems to have a lot of her walls up in public)). It makes sense L might be hesitant to open himself back up to N when, as I talked about here, I think he got his heart broken a little by N. However, I think N was starting to open herself up to the possibility of really trying with L (because I think she has ALSO loved him for a while, but just was never in the place to really commit to the relationship for various reasons). I think she was finally feeling though that she was ready to give this relationship a serious shot, but knew L was kind of in a relationship. I think N was under the impression though that it wasn't super serious, so I think she was hopeful she and L might be able to figure it out.

A lot of people have been commenting that the InStyle Stunt/article wouldn't have upset N because she would have already known about it because of the pictures A posted in early April. I disagree. Now, we obviously don't know 100% if N knew that L was going to add those polaroids to the article. Tbh, we also don't 100% know if she even knew about the pictures that A posted of the LA trip (because I don't get the sense N exerts a whole lot of energy and time following what A does). Yes, N commented and liked L's post on April 29 related to the InStyle article. However, that does not confirm that she had already read the article. And she wasn't going to unlike and remove her comment, because fans would have noticed and flipped out. I am more inclined to believe that she really wasn't aware that this was all going to go down, mainly because I think L didn't want N to know/was trying to be sneaky about it. I think once N figured it all out after the article came out, the thing she was most upset by was how this article proved L had coordinated with A to indirectly publicly announce that they were an item (while L was continually putting out to the press at that point that he was single). Therefore, I think N was pi**ed because she didn't want this to impact their tour/her (their) public image. And secondly, I think she was upset because of the feelings she was having for him, and how flirty he had been with her the last few months. I think it all caught N off gaurd, and her walls went WAY back up. And we have to remember that this all happened just a few days before the Milan event, so I think that energy between them just spilled over and resulted in their very disconnected nonverbal cues in Milan.

I talked a little bit more about my thoughts on Italy here, but I think after L/N got back on the same page emotionally, it was pretty much game over emotionally with A for L. His heart wasn't really in it anymore (and tbh, I don't think it ever really was). Also, I've said this multiple times, but Italy is when N starts posting the "boyfriend pics" of L (which L obviously agreed to). Personally, I think N (and indirectly L) were sending a message to a certain someone 🤔 But just a theory... I have also already talked about it here and here on my theories on why L was never going to be able to publicly untangle himself from A for a while, regardless of what was going on BTS with L/N.

What Could be the Deeper Meaning Behind the Polaroid?

So, my point with everything is this. I think early April was a MAJOR turning point for N in terms of her feelings/emotions for L. Here are my thoughts (outside of PR) on why N put THAT Polaroid on her phone from the London Photcall event on April 12 (and for MONTHS):

First, we need to acknowledge that L obviously approved of this photo being on her phone (or at least was complicit to it), which I think speaks VOLUMES about where L was at emotionally with N at the time (and where L WASN'T at emotionally with A). This confirms to me that things just weren't that serious with A, even if he was TRYING to refocus his attention on A. L's heart was still with N.

N wanted people to know that they were a unit through this experience, and that N truly loves him and their friendship/connection. She wanted to share to the world how special he AND their experience on Bridgerton is to her.

I think she put that SPECIFIC picture on her phone because her feelings were STARTING to change for L around this event/that general time period. I think N was starting to see L in a bit of a new light (in a positive way), and was seeing some real potential between them.

Lastly, I think one of the reasons she kept the photo on her phone for so long (outside of the PR), is because her walls were starting to come down, things were getting more serious between her and L, and she was happy (and she wanted the public to know 😉). And L/N could kind of hide behind this unspoken public narrative that it was just for "PR" (which I NEVER bought).

Now yes, she has since changed the polaroid. However, we have NO idea what the photo is of now (or if she is consistently changing it out/or completely changed her phone case). She knows our obsession with the Polaroid though, so I think she likes to tease us about it. She knows what she is doing 😉 That OG polaroid though during the PR tour had a MUCH deeper meaning than just promoting the show, and was a significant public statement about her relationship with L. Just my theory though...

another jack 50th bday post but this time jack is lying about getting his first cell phone for his 50th bday.

why do I say he's lying? because we all have seen him with a cell phone over the years as early as 2010. these photos from 2014 was taken in a studio setting and he has his iphone with him. why does he lie about having a cell phone. he's obsessed with that lie. the same way he was obsessed about he abd meg being siblings. it reminds me of lana del rey cosplaying poverty. as if the internet doesn't exist and these famous peoples past cant be found with a quick google search. 🤦‍♀️

There is film footage and photos going way back to 2009 of Jack White with a cell phone near him.

One particular Dead Weather interview from 2011, he's sitting on a sofa with the band. Alison is next to him on his right. Jack is all the way at the edge of the sofa. On the sofa arm to Jack's left, was a cell phone. I'm sure that video interview is still on YouTube somewhere. It's all about having the time to search for it.

Then of course came Meg's leaked sex tape, which "they" (Jack) also denied. The joint statement released about that tape was a joke. It was something like 'Ha ha not Meg! Good try though!' - I mean are you serious? People have eyes and ears. You really think that statement helped Meg? It didn't.

The woman in that sex tape, in my opinion, is Meg. I've seen the footage online years ago after TMZ reported it.

Even TMZ didn't buy the "band's statement" about that sex tape.

To this day, that sex tape is on every online porn site labeled 'Meg White' - and sadly, in my opinion, that's because it is Meg in that video.

If it wasn't her, surely Meg could have sued pornhub and every other online entity, for providing that video publicly for the last 18 years - with her name! Meg would have to show in court proof it's not her in that tape. That they are defaming her by falsely attaching her name to that sex tape.

The fact that it's never gone to court is telling.

To lie about owning a cell phone is beyond understanding. Why lie about it? For image purposes? He only comes across looking/sounding crazy.

Agree 100%. But, to further expand that, and going outside the world of the show.

From a GA perspective, or the audience full stop, how many partners are we willing to watch before we lose interest? By this I mean - if the writers are spending screen time / several episodes introducing a new character and a new relationship, usually we get invested. And when that person disappears, it can be frustrating, and the introduction of a new person (thus the start of the cycle again), can feel a bit tiring. Every time they need to find something that makes the audience go: okay, it’s worth for me to care about this character.

Buck’s case is a bit particular, because his relationships haven’t been all that well received (until now). Either it was an ‘okay’ situation, without much interest, or an okay reception but controversial at times (for me, Taylor - I do think the GA was okay with her, but ultimately the couple was not good). Tommy has been imo the first relationship that truly has brought in lots of positive and good reviews and a good investment of attention from fans and even GA. Tommy’s clips in any social media are usually the ones with most views, and in things like IG it goes to talk about the GA more than a focused fandom.

This to say - if Buck was to break up with Tommy, I think a lot of the audience would be frustrated or even grow bored of the constant change of partners. Even, they would be less receptive to a future new partner, because if Tommy (so well received) is gone, who would even stay?

Not to say this means Tommy is Buck’s endgame, because no one knows. But at some point the constant change of partners gets old, and we know Tim agrees when he expressed wanting to get Buck off the hamster wheel (something Oliver agreed on), and Tommy is a really strong character to have Buck settle with.

Long story short: not only from a SL perspective, but Bucktommy being long lasting makes sense for the overall image of the show.

bc if we think about bucktommy in terms of it being Buck's relationship aka. a main character's relationship, enough is enough on dragging him from illfit to illfit - that guy deserves to be settled, at ease in himself, as Bobby once told him, and we've already seen Tommy help make that happen for him.

and if we look back at Buck's relationship history: we're 7 years into poor matches for a guy who has always wanted to love and be loved - and Tommy can be that for him! he has been that for him so far and could so easily fit into the narrative as Buck's significant other moving forward indefinitely. Tommy already feels like the missing piece to Buck's story the same way Karen was for Hen and Maddie was for Chim and Athena was for Bobby - and he's a fleshed out character in his own right just as those partners are.

enough screwing around with Buck's relationships. sometimes it feels like just bc he started out as a fuckboy he somehow doesn't deserve a stable, healthy, loving relationship, like the narrative is going out of its way to ruin any chance he has at that for the sake of drama (but again: none of his previous partners were the right match for him).

i'm going to mention dear dean winchester again bc he has so much in common with Buck, and these kinds of characters (male, strong, macho, attractive, swagger, charming, sexually active, presumably bisexual) always cycle through relationships that never pan out - bc they're not the right fit, but moreover bc these partners seem written in just to be eventually written out, there to help the main character's plot along, aid in some personal growth and add drama, maybe attract more viewership for those interested in seeing more (temporary) female characters.

but it is.. *sigh* tiresome, indeed. let Buck have a stable partner - like Hen, and Chim, and Bobby do - and let their relationship be woven into the narrative to create a richer tapestry like those other pairings do. that is so much more satisfying in terms of storytelling and character growth, than trying to insert drama snags that threaten to unravel things. you can still have drama with committed pairings - every other committed pairing in the show is proof of that.

and if we take off the shipper googles: Tommy is good as Buck's partner, he makes sense, and he has great potential in the longrun both as Buck's boyfriend/husband and as his own character within the wider narrative of the show. he's a natural fit, but he's also entertaining and he has history with most of the main characters already.

i really do see Tommy as Buck's endgame btw, bc they work so well together as a pairing but also as independant characters. BUT i wouldn't be mad about them breaking up/taking a break (as i mentioned in that post: uncertainty about having kids; a potential permanent job position out of state) and then come back together stronger for it. we saw it happen with Henren (but i don't want to see cheating with our boys bc it doesn't fit who they are) so we know if they do breakup it doesn't have to be permanent - and i actually would love the mirror to Buck's first serious relationship where Abby leaves him - only Tommy comes back to him.

CeeDee X Trevon X Micah, Puppy pile

They all came into the league within a 2/3 year span and are all close friends, Trevon X Micah is already a thing that I'm invested in and I’m stuck on Trevon X CeeDee so this is the best of both worlds ig. I just wanted to explore what that would feel like, seeing people you really care about get injured within 30 minutes of each and being helpless while knowing you just have to keep playing. Set after the first Giants game. I’m really happy that Micah’s back and I hope that Trevon will be back soon too ! The season is over for them but I love seeing them play together regardless.

*It's Trevon clutching at his calf and CeeDee's blood is ringing in his ears, then Micah desperately gripping his ankle at the end of the game. Trevon came back, Micah didn't.

The rest of the game rushes by him and suddenly he's in the tunnel, being pushed along by the swarm of bodies all moving towards the locker room...It's Trevon reaching for his hand in the dark of the tunnel, his mouth is moving but CeeDee can't make out what he's saying above the glaring noise of the pissed off giant's home crowd leaving the stadium. He pulls Trevon into his side and squeezes his hand three times, hard. I'm okay, I'm okay.*

CeeDee X Dak, Baby bird

A ship I’m surprised isn’t bigger, it’s the typical QB X Star receiver ship that is almost always popular. CeeDee loves Dak even when he's being bratty, that's his work husband. Set after the Baltimore loss, where CeeDee had that sideline outburst.

*He comes to before the sun's up, before his alarm, before Dak even. It's hot as shit; his shorts are too tight, the comforter too thick, Dak's body, pressed up against him, radiating too much heat. He needs to piss.

He does it now, moves his hand down Dak's side, from his rib cage to his hip, and then he firmly palms Dak over his sweatpants, already half-hard in his grip.

"Mhmm," Dak makes a quiet sound of pleasure, but otherwise seems to still be asleep, and CeeDee's just about to sneak his hand past his waistband, make it skin to skin, when Dak's alarm starts to ring. "Babe, turn that off."

For someone who usually gets up so early in the morning, who's so averse to touching normally, Dak's sure whiny and clingy when he wakes. He pulls CeeDee even further into him, throws a leg over CeeDee's knees, buries his face in CeeDee's locs. CeeDee grins, snags the front of Dak's t-shirt between his teeth. He's never seen him like this; CeeDee wants to make it so that no one else ever will.

"You gotta let go of me, though," CeeDee says, still smiling, stupid large with it, and that's what Dak first sees when he pulls back his head with a squint. "Are you gonna let go of me, Dak?"*

Lamar X Odell, Summer ends all the time

Set in the aftermath of the AFC Championship game. I really wanted to explore Odell and Lamar’s relationship and how it felt for Lamar knowing that Odell was being traded to Miami and that they were one and done. A ship I feel like has so much potential because it’s focus is a relationship that meant a lot to both people invovlved even though it only last one season. Odell, you are greatly missed in Blatimore!!

*It's the easiest thing to book a flight to Miami and run to Odell.

Odell is the sun and so it makes sense to Lamar that he'd end up in Miami. He'd known that he wouldn't stay in Baltimore the moment they lost the AFC championship but he'd hoped that he would. He thought that he'd stay for him.

He remembers seeing the new house for the first time, when he'd gone to see him in Miami. Home was where Odell was, he thought, Odell was home. He's embarrassed at how soon he fell into that, one season together and Odell held the world.*

Lamar X Derrick, Just like heaven

I just love them together. They have so much respect, admiration and love/care for each other already and I really wanted to represent that in a fic. Derrick fits in with the Ravens so seamlessly and it seems like he was always meant to end up with them. Derrick, you are a Baltimore Raven and we love you.

*Lamar walks into the house to music.

And not just any music. He’d been raised around enough music to recognize Stevie Wonder.

Kicking off his shoes, Lamar heads towards where the music is coming from. It leads him to the kitchen and he pauses in the doorway to take in the scene in front of him. Derrick is standing at the counter, chopping at something on a cutting board. He’s wearing a pair of black sweats and a faded Alabama sweatshirt that's obviously well worn and well loved. His locs are pulled away from his face and Lamar's breath sticks in his throat. He’s swaying to the music, singing under his breath.

The song fades out and transitions into the next one, a song that Lamar has heard quite a lot actually. He hears Derrick hum it sometimes, when they walk back to the locker room after practice. He hears it in his head now sometimes before he goes to sleep. He's not sure what that means.*

Set after the loss to the Eagles, sigh. I wanted to explore Lamar’s anxiety about not making in back to the AFC Championship game at the very least this and letting everyone down in the process.

*He couldn't sleep after the game. Lying in Derrick's arms, awake and bothered, before twisting away from them. The wood of the bedroom floor is cool as he pads across it, into the hallway and through the house.

When he gets outside, he's there for hours.

Derrick finds him outside the french doors, and without stepping out he reaches for Lamar's hand "Babe, it's mid November. Get inside. Now"

Lamar knows that he's only acting like this because he's concerned, because as new as whatever this is between them, Derrick knows how prone he is to sickness. How his body seemed primed for illness. He ignores the warmth that thought fills him with. He stands still on the porch for a moment before letting Derrick pull him back into the house. Derrick locks the french doors behind them before gently grabbing onto Lamar's forearms, "Lamar, you're shivering"

Lamar hadn't noticed until Derrick said it, like Derrick saying it made it corporeal and fact. Derrick leads him to the couch before grabbing a faded Alabama sweatshirt that's hanging over the back of the armchair they share most nights. Lamar pulls it on.*

Davante X Aaron, Letter to God (1983)

Aaron’s relationship with his family was a big topic of conversation this year with the autobiography on his being published and I wanted to write about that as well as how Davante would fit into all that.

*At the very start of this, he had the definition of that word. Estrangement, estranged. And that is, becoming a stranger and becoming a foreigner and, in a sense, becoming strange.

Aaron tried to explain it to Davante once. Davante was still so young then, all of 25 and he'd turned to face him in bed one night, asking him, "Why don't you talk to your family anymore?"

Explain that when he first made the decision to stop talking to his parents, he didn’t even have a word for it. He had done a lot of thinking about neglect and abuse until he knew that that’s what had happened to him, but Aaron didn’t realize that when he said, “Don’t call me, I’ll call you,” to his parents that he was implicitly or explicitly making a choice to separate himself from them. To create this invisible wall, burnt bridges and all that they could never cross unless he wanted them to. He didn't know if he would ever want them to. He had never met anyone who had done that, that he knew of. He'd never heard anyone talk about it. It seemed an impossibility. It’s such a strange thing when you take an action and it’s not till years later that you can name it. He can name it because he feels it oh so keenly.*

Davante X Aaron X Garrett, How did I fall so fast?

Inspired by a post Aaron made on his instagram of him with Garrett with both Davante and Garrett tagged and it was captioned, ‘Always love my 17s’. And I was floored, those are his 17s, his receivers. And knowing how mcuh Davante has meant to and still means to him, what does that mean about him and Garrett? What does it mean for Davante and Garrett? There’s so much to explore witht these three especially since Davante is with the Jets now.

*The fact that Davante already knows and understands what he is only beginning to. That Davante has seen Aaron so naked and so outside of himself in a way that Garrett hasn't, not yet. It would be easy to be consumed by jealousy if Davante wasn't so kind, and wasn't so willing to explain Aaron to Garrett in ways only he knew how.

Davante lays at the side of them when Garrett fucks Aaron sometimes. Fully clothed, he usually does’nt join on. He says that he just likes to watch sometimes. He doesn't like to be touched much when he's in that mood, something that Garrett learned as the summer went on. But he loves to touch. A hand pulling Aaron's head away from the pillow, encouraging him to be louder, his hands gripping Garret's ass and hips as if guiding his movements. Teaching him how Aaron likes to be fucked all over again.

And when he does get to fuck Davante, its a religious experience , as close to heaven as Garrett is ever going to get. He understands why Aaron loves him, and why he's quickly falling for him too. His legs pressed tightly against Garrett's ribs pulling him in closer with a heel pressed into Garrett's lower back. His twists strawn over the pillow and his mouth wet and open, gasping. Garrett runs his fingers over the memory all the time now.*

Stefon after leaving the Bills, Fear and Loathing in Buffalo (Big Exit)

I wanted to write a fic about Stef leaving Buffalo entirely from his perspective because a) I think its more interesting that way because you can examine his emotions more closely and explore his mindsets at the time b) I'm way more interested in his perspective lol. It’s also a postmortem on his and Josh’s relationship and its gradual decay as well as an exploration of the new relationships he cultivates in Houston. Get well soon Stef, I would give you my ACL if I could.

*He's been in Houston for months now and the heat still feels still and sticky, sitting on top of him. This must be what hell feels like, he says to the media when it's his time for press after preseason practice. It's a rare day off in the seemingly endless grind of training camp so he's home, trying to keep himself busy doing anything.

He's in the closet, trying to put away all the clothes and shoes that he's been putting off going through since he moved. It's unlike him, this meandering laziness but he finds himself behaving and acting in ways that both surprise and nauseate him lately. He feels himself being mere facsimile of himself, putting on the act of Stefon Diggs. It's strange, he didn't feel like this when he left Minnesota. But Buffalo was different. Better. He has a little more to miss.*

Caleb X Rome, Sunday's Girl

Caleb and Rome are adorable and I wanted to write about them. I think that Caleb is a little more complex/complicated than people realize and I want to look at at that through the prism of manhood, gender and what that means to him. A thought experiment!

*It’s in the months, almost year afterwards that he finds himself living on a newly wrought emotional fault line that he hadn't known was there before. He'd seen his buzzed hair in the mirror one night after practice and had thought back to his long curly hair the year before and suddenly he couldn't remember why he had cut it. When he went weeks then months without a haircut and when he was finally asked about it in an interview, “Are you planning on growing out? How long?”

“Yeah”, he said smiling, “pretty long”

He keeps the beard, he thinks he looks better with it than not.

His first NFL game was hard. As hard as he expected and a little more than that. The offensive line folding in on itself and him having no chance to breathe, no chance to compose himself.

After his first game, he looked at his hands with his nails a bright orange and resisted the urge to claw at his arms with them. Resisted the urge to pull the nails off entirely, logically knowing that it would hurt and that he would bleed terribly but not caring because at least people would stop talking about them. That's all they wanted to talk about. How this generation was so 'different' and how womanly his hands looked. His stomach clenched at the thought of it. Sitting on the floor of his living room he closes his eyes against the feeling.*

Malik X Jayden, Landslide

Malik and Jayden. Their relationship is everything to me and I wanted to write about them, and the idea of young love and the naivity that comes with it. It’s essentialy an exploration of their coming of age, particularly Malik’s while being separated from someone who means the world to you.

*They were in Jayden's hotel room after the draft. The draft had happened hours before but the sound of the crowd in Detroit was still roaring in Malik's mind.

NFC East, “three hours on a train ride, 45 flight!”, they had yelled as they hugged backstage.

Malik tucked his chin into the crook Jayden’s neck, sliding his eyes shut, as the cool breeze from the open window swept over them. It was quiet in the room, with the only sound being Jayden’s breathing, and the only movement being Jayden’s chest rising and then steadily falling, only to repeat again. But Malik didn’t mind. These moments were rare, hard to get. He was lucky he was experiencing them at all, and he’d appreciate them with his whole heart, mind and soul, while they were here.

Jayden was stretched out on the bed, the duvets pulled up high, his eyes closed. Even then, the duvets didn’t cover his shoulders to accommodate Malik wanting to press his forehead to the curve of his bicep. Malik cherished those little things, the way Jayden kept him in his mind, even when he was capable of taking care of himself. Malik would miss this. He wanted it to last forever.*

Is Moominvalley queerbaiting?

I wasn’t invested in voltron when that was a huge thing, so I can’t say I know for sure what it felt like for people to be teased with ships, but I kiiiinda get that feeling from moominvalley. There’s so much deliberate snufmin and I’m sure that people working on modern moomin works know The Deal ™️. I got into the show because of all of the clips of the soft wholesome gay scenes they were given. But then when I watched the show I had mixed feelings. Mostly when it got around to season 3. Like? They know people see the clips on youtube. People always get super excited abt that as the show is releasing and it spreads. They probably know that it brings a ton of people. And it’s one thing if there’s stuff that’s super ambiguous. A bunch of shipped snufmin from their experience with the rare crumbs in 90s moomins. But this is a lot more than that. And it’s great and sweet in the moment because it makes you hope and think it might happen. But then they cut back to him with snorkmaiden and it feels like we’re being jerked around ig? Especially since he’s not having a what do I do I like both of them thing. He just goes fully snorkmaiden. And I haven’t seen the finale yet. And I’m hoping so bad that I’m wrong on this. But if it ends without that going anywhere my question is: what was the point? There’s been so much potential and they seem to do this on purpose because there’s stuff there that can’t be an accident with how it’s framed. And it’s nice that the moments exist but when you look at the full narrative it makes me wonder if that was just used to bring in more fans. Because it wouldn’t matter if the fans weren’t happy if they went along for the whole ride before being given the answer no. The company would’ve still made a profit. Just like previous shows. It just would feel disappointing?? It would’ve just been waved around to get attention only to amount to nothing. After years of watching and hoping. I seriously hope that season 4 does make it canon. I want all of the build up and glances and planning to mean something. I don’t think I would expect a kiss even. Those aren’t really just given in the show anyway. But something to acknowledge a more romantic direction. Something to answer what was interrupted on the mountain. It’s such a comfort show to me. And there was stuff in the story that made me feel happy and safe about my own identity. Because of the idea that everyone’s welcome in moominvalley. But I started feeling a little betrayed in season 3. There were moments for sure between snufkin and moomin. But they still went heavy with snorkmaiden. It felt like this sort of cloud ig? Like they’re reminding us that moomin and snufkin isn’t the endgame. And if they never intended it to be then why’d they put in so much possibility and will they won’t they throughout. Only to drop every bit of build up.

I started to ramble but I wanted to put my thoughts somewhere. since it’s ending soon.

This is award-winning Israeli philosopher, public intellectual and polymath, Prof. Yeshayahu Leibowitz. He was appearing on the Israeli TV show Popolitika, back in 1992. Leibowitz argues with pundit Tommy Lapid, the father of Yair Lapid, former Israeli Prime Minister.

Yeshayahu Leibowitz argues that Israel is not a democracy after its 1967 occupation of the West Bank and that there are circles in Israeli society that possess a Judeo-Nazi mentality.

It's interesting to hear the end of this clip. The other man is arguing that until Israel is burning Arabs (Palestinians), Leibowitz's comparison has no base. Leibowitz's answer is that, after the concentration camps (which Israel has used to jail Palestinians in for decades), burning them is the "prophecy". That is: after the dehumanization, ghettification, ethnic separation, and apartheid that Israel puts Palestinians through, the next step is genocide, and it can be seen before it happens because we know what leads to it. In the tweet above, journalist Samira Mohyeddin remembers this "prophecy" now that Israel is, indeed, burning Palestinians alive to kill them.

But it made me think of something else, too. The man arguing with Prof. Leibowitz says that this isn't the case because Israelis don't "burn millions of Arabs just for fun". And, again, this is another place where the "prophecy" has been fulfilled:

Israeli extremist groups linked to the government's party take families (including children) to boat tours to watch Gaza getting bombed and cheer on the deaths and suffering of Palestinians. To extremist Israelis, Palestinian death is fun.

I'm aware it isn't new, we've seen news like this for years, like this one from 2014:

But it goes to show how Professor Leibowitz was right. Regardless of wether you agree or not with his word choice or semantics, genocide is where all these decades of occupation, dehumanization, and apartheid were headed to.

correct me if im wrong but people claim c!Tommy is obsessed with c!Dream, but if yo ulook back at the aftermath of l'manberg exploding, c!Tommy says "our stories over", while c!Dream says "our story will never be over you're just too fun" Which makes it look like that c!tommy is the one wanting to leave c!Dream alone while c!Dream is doing the opposite.

That and the mini truce they had in early dsmp days if that counts because directly after establishing they were allies, c!dream proceeded to hunt c!tommy for the discs. I dont doubt your perspective, but I've seen far too much instances of c!Tommy trying to end this feud with c!Dream while c!Dream continues to drag him back down into it and rarely have seen the opposite. Curious on your opinion on that. I do consider majority of his focus on c!Dream post-exile being out of paranoia that c!dream would harm him again so he wants to kill c!Dream to avoid that perceived torture but ig that would still count as an obsession.

Well, I mean not sure which war you were talking about originally but if it was the first war he says imediately that he’s going after Dream for the discs once they have recovered [clip], but I think you actually meant Doomsday based on your quotes [clip], in which case I’d like to note a couple things. Firstly, it’s important to highlight that this is right before the staged finale, which means he’s purposely trying to sound evil and malicious. So his, ‘this was fun’ is part of that. (Though I do think even Tommy and his affinity for griefing would probably enjoy blowing things up but that’s besides the point). Secondly, the way Tommy says ‘it’s over.’ And ‘it’ll be over soon’ is I’m pretty sure as a threat, not him saying he wants to stop the fighting, but it seems to me that he’s basically promising to kill Dream for the discs. To which Dream says ‘our story will never be over, it’s too much fun’ again ‘fun’ here is his villain persona feeding Tommy’s image of him being a bad guy, but I think if Tommy is threatening to kill Dream, which based off context and even the tone of voice I’d say it’s likely, then Dream’s response makes a lot of sense considering he has the revive book. So it’s two fold, half is just truth - it will not end because neither Dream nor Tommy will stay dead because of the revive book - and half is his persona setting the scene for staged finale. So in either, scene whether after the first war where he gave Dream the discs for L’manberg or in Doomsday, I don’t get the impression Tommy intended to actually end their feud. And after the first war, Tommy highlights “taking back his discs” when it is true, as Dream points out, Tommy did give them to him. In a way, everytime after that happens, as Dream points out in Daedalus, it’s kinda Tommy taking Dream’s discs, almost like giving a present then trying to steal it again.

I’m not sure which specific truce you are referring to and don’t feel like or have the time to watch all the early streams to find it, but it is important to know, that Dream in the beginning is loyal to keeping everyone happy, he changes sides depending on who’s being wronged, which changes from fight to fight. So sometimes he’s on Tommy’s side, sometime he’s against Tommy, depending on the situation and who might be in the wrong. And while I’m not sure which truce you mean, I’m fairly certain Dream didn’t just go after Tommy without reason, it’s just not his style unless he’s trying to play a persona like around the Doomsday era in which case, technically that is still a reason, but it just may not be obvious because it could be that Tommy hurt someone other than Dream.

Just as references, here are some instances where Tommy has provoked Dream: Burning down George’s house after winning the war, Hitting him with a mine cart and stealing his stuff, Stabbing him while fixing a hole in his Tommy’s own yard [clip], teaming with Sapnap to kill him while he’s just waking down the path [clip], killing him again after the war has ended and Tommy’s stuff have been returned [clip], stealing his items after falling into a trap [clip] just to name some examples I can think of off the top of my head and have watched recently.

And if the logic is that after prison Tommy is targeting Dream out of paranoia and fear, does Dream not get the same respect? Was he not specifically targeted by Wilbur and Tommy in the very start of L’manberg? (Their constitution literally says “suuuuck it green boyyy!”) Were his friends not hurt because of association with him? Were his items not taken multiple times? Even after prison, is it reasonable to say he’s once again put his persona of scary villain to get him to leave him alone, after Tommy broke in and tried to kill him when he was already defenseless and locked up?… Yes at some point, maybe it did become more mutual, maybe Dream did start conflicts too, but at what point can we not say that it’s prevention instead of obsession. Clearly, he holds onto being murdered repeatedly at the start of the discs wars all the way till the finale, even after we know his memory was suffering [post].

And yes, post-prison I hope we can all agree that Tommy is definitely stalking and obsessing over Dream, while Dream could care less (the disc in his basement being the one thing he does in provoking Tommy, which again I file under intimidation to keep him away.)

Anyways… I’m just saying, it seems to me that whenever Tommy logs on we don’t hear Dream say, ‘oh look it’s the child again’ or whatever but when Dream does, it’s ’oh look it’s the green bastard’, so where is the line between obsession vs prevention and retaliation…

You thought about Hisoka this time too, about the more romantic aspect about him. Though nothing about that scary magician would be romantic instead of that eerie use of pink in his wardrobe. But that still, once again, had you addicted. You were wishing, no– praying to see all of his perfect, flawless skin every time you’d get reminded of his presence. You had seen his strong arms, oh those pretty fingers with the slight flush of blood under that porcelain skin of his, the muscles bulging out with the extraordinary finish of his veins, and his perfectly manicured nails. And then his eyes, oh not his eyes. That deep amber of his irises with the famous quirk of his eyes, crinkling further up as he smiled with his mischievous, beautiful and lustrous lips.And these days you have noticed those heart shaped earrings he’s wearing, that’s got all your feline features back on their feet, throbbing to play with them, your fingers flicking them as they jingled. And the heels he’s been wearing, the thought of him absolutely slaying in those heels with his killer legs lives rent-free in your mind. Sigh Heck, you were all over him And boy did you hate that. You sat there, not very proud of your lazy posture but that’s not something you will be worrying about. At least not right now. You lay down further on the grass, flat on your belly, the sides of your face pressed to the ground,your extraordinarily sensitive senses letting you hear all the hustle and bustle that must be occurring in the distance, your hair being held together barely by your clawclip. Oh, by the way, this clawclip is your favourite, though it serves zero purpose to its owner, it’s still pretty privileged and chosen over thousands of others. Why is that, you ask? For two things.First, your master gifted it to you, saying that– “This is the only thing I can give you so spontaneously upon the completion of your training,” and you accepted it wholeheartedly, knowing it’s staying close to your heart. And second, for which you absolutely upbraid yourself all the time, is that Hisoka actually told you that it looked nice on your hair. And that’s it, you knew it was never going to trash, as if you were going to go that in the first place. Your nose, which was overly hypersensitive because of the rough training, catches onto something sickeningly sweet, a familiar scent that usually has you swooning. Also, your ear which was pressed against the ground listened to the thud of someone’s steps, someone’s stride. You quickly quirk up, shuffling about to sit up straight and look around. You weren’t threatened, because you were expecting someone, but not the someone who now stood right beside you, startling you a little, and alarming you much. You practically sprung to your feet in front of him, keeping a poker face despite the heart-hammering in your chest on his appearance. “Oh my~ It’s nice to see you here, like this.” Hisoka coos in his velvety voice, another thing you’d absolutely kill for. You raise an eyebrow, trying to look as casual as possible. “How did you find me here?” You echo back, being your usual rude self towards him, so much to be obsessed with him Hisoka takes a step closer,and your expression becomes more horrified than neutral. But you stay put, not moving an inch, not tearing your gaze away from his. “Hmm, you really want to think about that?” He answers back, eyes boring back into yours before he adds. “You’ve become stronger, I like that.” *Shit* And a big YAY Your dual personality has you questioning yourself for a while, before agreeing on the fact that you have some psychological ailment. By this statement, Hisoka probably means he’d love to have a fight, which you would agree to without hesitating. God knows what angels had bestowed their blessings upon you but you made a mental note to thank them later “Mhm, I have been training”

“That’s great, really. I never noticed your potential, how cruel that must be” “Yeah, sure. What do you want?” He grins wickedly “A fight would be nice.” “Sure”    That came out too fast and too unhesitantly, much to your dismay. You stammer with your words before adding “Yeah, I mean, we could, but, I don’t have that kind of time right now..” “Are you staying in this town?” “For a while– yeah. I mean, for a few hours that is.” “Does that mean you’d be leaving?”  He says pulling out his cards, putting you on full guard as he plays with them on his fingertips “Yeah” “Well, that’s too bad. I think I would have to take your time right here~” “I am not fighting you here” “Hmph, how about next month, on a designated date and place?” He says, throwing one of his cards at you, clearly aimless, flung for distracting you from the bungee gum tentacle darting towards  you. And you barely dodged both of them, sprinting to a side. “That— sounds nice. When do you want to?” He watched you with a look of approval and something, his eyes scanning you up and down and observing your movements as you walked to lean against a tree. “I don’t know, but how about the last day of the next month, 9 pm, in the YorkNew city park” 

    He steps closer, deliberately, slowly, cautiously and gracefully, like a swan stalking in its beauty. You watch him do that, again, tranced by his ever-so-consuming presence. His legs move towards you with the finesse he usually carries with him, that cocky grin spread across his expression, still there, twitching upwards. Amber eyes piercing through yours, enchanting, intoxicating and hooking. For a second, you give up on letting even a word out, but you did, for the sake of yourself, you did. “Yeah, sure. Whatever floats your boat—”  you feel something, elastic tightening around your waist, your ankles, pinning you to the tree further. Fuck, when did his bungee gum even caught up? How could you be so careless? So lost in him? “Staring at me like that, hm? Interesting.”  He muses, stepping even closer, dangerously closer, right in front of you, his feet pressing over yours, hot breath fanning your face and making you shiver. You dared not utter a word, his finger reaching out to tilt your face to a side by your chin, letting him take a glance at your claw clip. “Mh, my favourite claw clip, still there?” His hand reaches out to tangle in your hair, pulling it gently to make you wince and probably pulling you back to your senses as well. “What are you doing?” “I am about to steal a few things~”

He coos back, with his finger caressing the back of your neck. He lets go of your chin, hand trailing down to rest at your thigh, pulling your leg up to hook it against his hips, the other hand which was tangled in your hair now cupping your face and forcing you to look at him

This is too much for a single night. Too much to even fit in a K-drama. You’re suddenly receiving everything you’d ever want from him. A promised fight and then THIS??!! Like, he was holding your thighs up your skirt now, his face was mere inches away and that’s got you panicking in all sorts of ways, good ways. Oh, now you can finally see him closely, drink the texture of his skin to memory and play with his earring with your hands resting on his shoulder. All of this, it’s too good to even be a dream, you are convinced you’re in heaven, and the blessings of angels from earlier was just a welcome-prank on you. You needed something to tell you all this was real while you lose yourself in the surreal feeling of staring into his eyes—

And that’s when his lips

Hisoka’s lips are so soft and sweet, it’s like he uses butter for them

They’re against yours, moving gently, tenderly and assuringly, each movement sending jolts through you. His body weight presses you deeper into the tree, fingers digging into your soft flesh of thighs, teeth nipping at your lower lip and his tongue delving into your mouth, tasting you, earning himself a sweet little, cherished moan from you. He pauses against your lips, grinding his hips against you as he manhandles both your legs to rest them on his waist with them locked at your ankles.Your hand moves to tug at his hair, pulling him closer, and he leans lower, to place open-mouthed, wet kisses, gliding against your skin, coining whimpers as you tuck your lower lips under your teeth. Your head falls back, giving him new skin, his lips grazing your throat as he nipped and sucked on your soft skin.

“You’re being too easy, don’t you think?”  He breathes against your skin, pushing his lips against your skin, peppering soft kisses.

“Shut up”  You grunt lowly. What? You weren't  gonna tell him you have thought about this moment too much.

He places a soft kiss on your lips, followed by a more defined and passionate one, nails sinking into your waist as his fingers slowly graze your shirt upwards to splay his fingers over your bare skin which almost slide down the elastic of your panties, but decide to trail upwards and waking goosebumps against your skin.He presses your forehead against his, his shallow breaths skimming over your nose, yours waking shivers down his neck. Your eyes are closed, too afraid to open them and realise it was just a mind game, or probably see the heavens like you thought earlier. But the clicking-open sound of your clutcher, and the tightened grip on your thighs told you otherwise, telling you this was real. "Take this from me when you meet me next time" He whispers, lips brushing against the shell of your ear before his teeth tug at your earlobe, as if he can't stop lavishing his lips on your skin.
