Salem: Well, I certainly liked him Camp Camp, because he was playing himself in that show; A PUSSY!

Cinder: I mean you have to hand it to Miles Luna; he works hard. After all, the work is much harder when you know the project is crap from the start. But all those small paychecks must add up, right?

The sewer children

So I have been wanting to write this post for a while now, and the other day @vamp-orwave mentioned me in the replies of this wonderful post by @ryttu3k, and now I have to, it is time. Lengthy Andrei/Strauss thoughts under the cut, because I'm very normal about them both individually and together.

I first saw that post before I was even on tumblr at all, and while at first I simply felt like "ohh, so wonderful to see, I love them and I want this to happen too", since that time another aspect of it has gotten stuck in my mind. Because the sewer-inhabiting szlachta Andrei made a lot of (the headrunners or meat geodudes or what have you) certainly have something to their appearance; whether the developers intended this or not, they look as if they were meant to resemble both Strauss and Andrei. Like horrible (and yet, to me, weirdly cute) atrocity children. (Do you ever just sneak into Andrei's meat house or into an area in the sewers, and remain hidden, and watch them run up and down and listen to them make their cute little huffing noises? They are just cutely living their messed-up little meat creation lives! Even on the videotape, they look like they are just so happy and enthusiastic about getting to eat the woman. I'm so sorry I have to hurt them, because I kind of just want to pet them on their strange little lamprey-mouthed heads; but Andrei made them to fight, this is their purpose, I'm appreciating Andrei's art as the artist intended.)

What I mean to say is that while my personal headcanon is that they got together after the events of Bloodlines, it is hard not to think about the meat geodudes and wonder how Andrei felt when he made them.

Perhaps Andrei has been secretly longing for Strauss for a while now, and the meat geodudes were even intended as a secret message of sorts; a message that Strauss would never get, not even if he personally encounters any meat geodudes (which is not particularly likely), not even if the player character shows him a copy of the tape, not even if someone (perhaps the player character) points out the resemblance. I think Strauss is completely beyond even suspecting that; even if he notices, he would most likely at most simply think, Hmm, interesting coincidence. I don't think he presumes someone could have romantic intentions for him; romance is something that happens to other people. Then again… who knows? By tabletop rules, Telepathic Communication is a six-dot Auspex power, and Strauss noticeably has that; Artist's Intent is a three-dot power, he certainly could have learnt it if he chose to, and because arcane knowledge is often incorporated in art, he might have chosen to; in which case, he knows.

Or perhaps they have loved each other all along, and were each required to go to Los Angeles separately for reasons of their different factions; as things stand now, they have to remain apart, and this is the only way Andrei can deal with that. "It is the Camarilla's fault that I cannot hold you, and now I am going to make my love for you EVERYONE'S PROBLEM! I will tear the world apart for you and I will sign the wreckage with BOTH OF OUR NAMES! The evidence of our love will be my weapon, and when I win, there will be no Camarilla to take you from me ever again."

Perhaps it wasn't even on purpose. Perhaps as Andrei set out to make a suitable sewer-crawling creature, this was how it came out at first, because he can't stop thinking about Strauss; and he noticed, of course he noticed, he knows himself, after all; and then he made a vast number of them, because it was soothing to do, and it is, after all, true; it was something to put his feelings into, his crawling and many-toothed feelings that run up and down the corridors of his mind and slowly tear him apart. No; he will not suffer in silence. He will make everyone else suffer, and when he is finished, when he has saved the world from the sarcophagus and there is no Camarilla to stop Strauss from answering the way he wants to (the way Andrei desperately hopes he wants to), he will take him as his lover, and who can stop the two of them then?

I think this thought process should be a fic actually. I think I should write it.

15. five most influential books over your lifetime.

i think one undeniable one for me is burro genius by victor villasenor. we had to read it in english last year and i actually thought it was super interesting and written really relatably and also is one of the few representations i’ve ever been able to find on yaqui people and their histories! plus also it played quite the part of me realizing the school system is shit and that it really doesnt matter about grades and such and they arent reps of who you are

my favorite childhood series that like. encouraged me to go off was junie b jones tbh. i fuckign loved those books and even apparently they “were too difficult” for me in 1st grade but bitch! i loved them and noone would stop me.

flowers for algernon is another one of my favorites tbh even though i read it a Really Long Time ago that twist still burns as much as it did as in 7th grade.i quite liked the message that intelligence does not automatically make you a god at everything too idk i still think of it sometimes and am like. that was cool

i literally dont think any of my followers have ever read this but may bird and the ever after as a series shook my 12 year old wig clean off. i adored those books and desperately want to buy the set just to have the experience of reading them again and i will literally send these books and 10 dollars each to tim burton and the headrunners of laika studios. god DAMN that series wouldve done well as a gothy fantasy tale

Alex!!!!

I never talk about alex but I should: 1. Alex's full title is Princess Alicia Lynn Verone, but she hates being called Alicia or even by her princess title. She'd rather be treated as an everyday person. 2. Alex is the headrunner of every Pride parade and event that gets thrown in the kingdom, but thanks to her ability to disguise herself as a civillian and her access to money, shes able to run these events simply as Alex, a local activist, and not as the princess, and she plans to keep it that way. 3. Speaking of Pride festivals, Alex met her girlfriend of two years, a trans women named Kaylin, at one of those festivals. 4. Alex refuses to wear any royal clothing in town or even around the castle unless shes on offical royal family business. 5. Alex is far more active in the kingdom as a member of the royal family, going around and actually interacting with the kingdom and the citiznes that live there, and it makes her angry to no end that her father doesnt get out of the castle more and actually inreract with the citizens himself. He doesnt see the levels of poverty that she does when shes out of the castle and she cant get him to listen to her about some of the real issues his kingdom is facing that arent from outside threat, but from within the walls themselves. 6. Alex actually met Ace when she caught him illegally hunting in a posted area. She could have busted him, but she realized that he came from one of the poor regions of the kingdom and decided to let him go with no trouble. 7. The dress Alex wears is actually modeled off the Asexual flag because Alex is asexual, and she made the dress herself. 8. Alex is able to perform her own brand of magic because shes from the royal family and because she's an elf. 9. Alex is the only child in her family and as such is the next in line for the thrown. However, she has stated that she won't take the thrown if her father won't consider the notion of having two queens ruling together (consisting of Alex and her girlfriend) over an arranged marriage. 10. Alex has painted a number of murals in the kingdoms more impoverished sectors with the help of children from those neighborhoods so that the area looks less bleak for its residents. It's her own version of an outreach program that she can run herself to keep children from off the streets from doing drugs and such since her father refuses to look seriously at the areas finacial issues.

It's the small things that matter most

You’ve heard this before but I’d like to elaborate where others haven’t. It’s truely in all respects the small things that matter. Sure, grand gestures and big stuff is important and can make a difference, but the small things go beyond. That recital, performance, or showcasing was very impactful, but how did you get there? It was the daily practices, trying to get it right and hit that note, the perfect throw, a perfect kick.

This goes even more for relationships, invitations and proposals (of any kind) are great for solidifying or pushing it forward, but that’s a two way street. They often are for covering up or ‘fixing’ something. Those little hellos and goodbyes, genuine curiosity as to how you’re doing, the right look, appropriate reaction, and my personal headrunner: listening with intention.

That’s what’s important at the end of every day, if someone hits the head of the nail with the big, grand stuff, but can’t even manage some empathy or a private conversation where you connect, I don’t believe they’re worth it.

I believe it’s the every day that counts, not the once in a while or the once a week.
